The cafe was overcrowded but they were managing at their best ... I ordered a few drinks there like Pina colada and sex on the beach ... decent enough

"Oven om Dönberg" is located on a country road, yet still idyllically situated, is the Landhaus Ewich. Just as it is in the Bergisches Land, slate-paneled under trees, with an inviting little garden in front of the house. We had ordered for 17 people and were greeted by a fully set Bergisches Land coffee table, where nothing was missing. Even the Indian blue of the dishes matched perfectly, as did the Dröppelminna (drinking mint) that sat decoratively in the middle of the table. Fast, friendly, and attentive service; everything was delicious. The waffles came as a "second round" and were complemented with cream and cherries upon request (for an extra charge). We were all thoroughly satisfied and felt at home, even though the "Schnäppsken" listed on the menu was missing.

Sad occasion. But in the kingdom of heaven EVERYTHING was GOOD.

A surprisingly wide and high-quality selection of food...very tasty. A restaurant, as well as a classic Cologne restaurant with a modern menu. Friendly staff and good service.

The main course was noticeably slow to arrive; the food was mediocre and didn't live up to expectations. Prawns as a starter were okay, normal/nothing special. Small portions; I had the breaded fish with potatoes and spinach. The potatoes seemed like they'd been reheated three times, and the spinach and sauce unfortunately had too much salt; the piece of fish was very small. My brother's order, the Angus steak, was annoying. Unfortunately, it had to be returned twice. It was first overcooked, then very raw, and not good the first time around, just like a shoe sole. After all, it was the most expensive item/dish on the menu. On the second attempt, my brother lost interest, and the waiter was also annoyed and unable to fix the situation. In the end, he had to pay for the uneaten steak. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. What also irritated me was that the waiter stood behind the counter, clearly visible to all guests, and repeatedly drank from a water bottle without using a glass...

The ambiance is super nice on the Rhine! The seating is great. Service is attentive, fast, and very friendly. The food, however, isn't that great. It's a matter of taste, but for people who really value it and want really good food, I wouldn't recommend it. The rest makes up for it, but not everything. The price-performance ratio is unbelievable!
