Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. I ordered fried potatoes without bacon. This is also possible according to the menu. However, they came with bacon. I didn't complain about it. My mistake. Unfortunately the meat was very dry and the crust was good, "crusty". Too bad My companion also had the same problems. Conclusion. Not anymore for now.

The Ewich country house is long-established. It was a very good address under its first owner; nothing worked here without a reservation. Then it was taken over and became very bad. It was taken over again in February 2024. On a very warm Monday in mid-August, I went with a friend to sit in the beer garden and enjoy the same thing. We chose the green Berliner Weisse. After a small eternity our drinks arrived. Not green but red. When the mistake was pointed out, the waitress simply said, "Oh, that can happen. It's so full today. You'll drink anyway." Okay..... Not a word about "I'll bring the right drink". We ordered a salad and a tarte flambée, which came quickly and were also delicious. Because of this visit we went again on Thursday. This time four of us. Again we found a place outside. The waitress was different and it took a long time for her to take the drink order. The menus - just like the delivery of drinks - took a very long time. There wouldn't be enough menus. We decided on 2x crusts on toast with fried potatoes, 1x schnitzel without toast with mushrooms and fried potatoes, 1x vegetarian burger with potato wedges. After waiting 1 1/4 hours, we asked when the food would come. "You're next," replied the overexcited waitress, who hadn't gotten the order right on Monday. Aha. We had to order drinks ourselves because no one came to the table. Since it was starting to get cold, we moved from outside to inside. After 2 hours of waiting, the schnitzels finally arrived - fresh from the deep fryer. The schnitzel without toast had the toast of course, the fried potatoes were lukewarm. The burger came another 10 minutes later. Here too, the wedges came fresh from the deep fryer, the fat was still dripping down. The burger bun and the patty - lukewarm. I immediately brought it back and complained. The answer was that the burger wasn't cold. Pretty rude, but good. I neither ate nor paid for the burger. As compensation they brought us ice cream. Very nice, but doesn't save the overall impression The ambience has also diminished. Sure, it's great to sit outside. Inside it needs a make-over. The walls in the back are smudged and dirty. There are blue posters stuck to the wall everywhere depicting Burger Tuesday and the like. apply. It doesn't fit the style of the country house. What was once designed with great attention to detail is now simply slapped on. CONCLUSION: A waiting time of over 2 hours is not possible. Then half of the food is lukewarm. One waitress is completely crazy and calls everyone on a first-name basis (regardless of age). The other waitress goes like this. We won't be coming here anymore, not even for a beer, because you can't really get the hang of it here. It's a shame about this once great restaurant

The food is really very mediocre and poorly seasoned. That was the unanimous opinion of everyone who was there. Prices are ok, service was very nice, it's nice to sit outside. But once again just for a drink.

I recently dined at Landhaus Ewich in Wuppertal and was thoroughly impressed. The food was fantastic—especially the Currywurst, which I enjoyed immensely. To put it into perspective for my American friends, it’s even better than a Costco hotdog! The Apfel Schorle I ordered was perfectly chilled and refreshing, complementing the meal wonderfully. One of the things that stood out to me was the inclusion of the Wuppertal dialect in the menu. It’s a charming touch that adds local flavor to the dining experience. Overall, Landhaus Ewich offers great food with a local flair, making it a must-visit if you’re in Wuppertal.

We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary there on August 24th. Nice service was very accommodating. Food was very good and plentiful would highly recommend this country house Ewich.

At first we were very sad when the Ewich we knew closed its doors at the end of 2023. We were even more pleased about the reopening in February 2024. We've been there a few times now. I think you still need some time to find yourself. The service is nice. The dishes sound great on the menu, but the execution seems immature to our taste. I deliberately refrain from including details in this context. We will come back, but we will give the restaurant a little more time to develop first.

The food was tasty and priced appropriately for the quality. The service may have had a bad day, as it was mediocre and friendly. You should definitely make a reservation.

A visit is recommended - also by bike or as a hiker.

We ate here for the second time today. We liked it the first time a few months ago, but unfortunately not at all today. First we waited 1.5 hours for our food, then the food came and it was really below average. The service was more than slow, but then again really aggressive. As an adult, you don't need to be on first-name terms with the service staff without being asked! Sorry, but that doesn't work at all. Another negative point was that one of the ladies' clothes was completely dirty from the service. It's possible that she also worked in the kitchen, but then you can wear an apron. So it all didn't make a good impression. The only positive thing was the ambience. We had a nice sit in the beer garden.

Bergische coffee table with the new owner of the Landhaus Ewich (today August 12th, 2024), unfortunately that was NOTHING; On the other hand, the very positive rating from 2023 at Fam.Memovic!!! I have the impression that you can make a “good mark” at the Bergisch coffee table; 18.90 euros per person. We only received a second, half-full pot of coffee when we asked, so no one had 2 cups of coffee, as described. The portions of the ingredients for the Bergisch coffee table were all very manageable, the rice pudding was as hard as window putty. In addition to the waffles, the waitress asked for cherries, which we were happy to oblige. However, the bill then said 2.00 euros per person, which we had no idea about and the portion of cherries came in a very manageable bowl. We weren't offered the Schnäppsken either, okay. it was over 30 degrees... It's a shame about the Bergisch coffee table, but I can't comment on the other food.

After 3 attempts in the last few months under the new owner, I regret to say that the restaurant has deteriorated significantly. Every visit was different... Extremely long waiting times, overcrowded, overwhelmed service, overwhelmed kitchen, mediocre food quality, and finally warm wheat beer. Very unfortunate because the waitresses are really trying. The kitchen can currently maintain the previous level neither in terms of craftsmanship nor in terms of food quality. Both are just about average. I still hope that the store will get on the right track and focus on quality, better organization and higher quality kitchens in purchasing and staff in the future. All the best for that.

Yesterday, after a long time, we ate here again, now with a new owner. Unfortunately, the dishes didn't convince us, everything wasn't seasoned enough, the braised onions were light, completely tasteless and inedible, the vegetarian tarte flambée had no roasted onions, the vegetables were almost raw and couldn't convince at all due to the lack of seasoning. Last but not least, the vegetarian ones Fried potatoes only prepared in the deep fryer, of course without onions and unfortunately also without taste. All in all, not a satisfactory performance and not worth repeating for us, although we still ate the food.

We were guests today, as a couple, on August 6th, 2024 and were thrilled from the outside, very cozy and really inviting! There were also enough parking spaces available. We've heard so many good things about this restaurant and wanted to have dinner here ourselves. The food was very tasty and everything was freshly prepared! The selection was also large and the service was very good, friendly and quick even though it was busy! The outdoor area where we sat was simply comfortable, and the inside is also very cozy and furnished with attention to detail! Price/performance perfect! We wanted to offer our children a Bergisch coffee table and were quite disappointed. Instead of coffee, tea or cocoa, a pot of coffee was put there without comment. At least the little children (3 and 5 years old) got a cup of milk when they asked. The quality of the food was okay overall, apart from the raw rice pudding, but the quantity was ridiculous for the price. The pricing itself is also a bit questionable. When making the reservation, the three and five year olds were still free, but they were then charged 8.90 each. In return they received two cups of milk, one cocoa and six waffles even though we were only five adults????? The hot cherries (also a very manageable portion) then cost another 6 x 2 euros, which was also not communicated. Conclusion: It would have been a little more of everything or at least asked if something else was wanted, but the price-performance ratio is a catastrophe. Paid a lot and nobody got fed, which is a shame

Unfortunately after the change of operator only lower middle class. We visited the restaurant three times after the ownership changed and were disappointed each time. The first time we blamed it on the change, we had very long waiting times and mediocre food, but at least they made an effort given the hectic hustle and bustle. The second time there was overcooked asparagus, a fleeting smile and at least two drinks for the evening. But this time in the beer garden - we were sitting in an unmissable place - there was nothing left apart from a starter drink. The plates weren't cleared away and the dried out and unseasoned turkey skewer on my very simple "large mixed" salad (which only consisted of green lettuce) didn't take the whole thing out. The company kept its limits; attentive service would actually not have been a problem. In 1.5 hours a glass of wine, 1 coke for my companion and a full table that wasn't cleared - a shame, unfortunately that was the last time, even though it used to be our regular restaurant. Here I also speak for friends who have had the same experience.

We had reserved a table there for 6 p.m. for a birthday and were able to watch as everyone else who came after us was served before us. First of all we had to wait a good 20 minutes for the menu and then another 2 hours AFTER ORDERING until the food came and we had a small child with us. After 1.5 hours we asked how far the food was and the excuse from the highly motivated staff (not!) was that we were next and that we had already received the soup we ordered. No apology or other understanding, especially because we also saw that people who ordered after us got their food before us, which was very annoying. In the end, the wait wasn't worth it either. The schnitzel tasted like it had been thrown into the deep fryer and pulled through the roller beforehand to make it look bigger with a whole pack of breading on it. We won't be coming back!

Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the food. Had a schnitzel with raw ham and sheep's cheese. Plus fried potatoes. Some of the fried potatoes were different sizes and were carelessly placed in a small bowl. The onions and the bacon were partially burnt so that there was a bitter note. As a chef, I would never have given them out to a guest like that. The raw ham with the sheep's cheese was so small that the cheese was almost impossible to see or taste. That's why mine bad rating.

I was there for the first time today. What an atmosphere! A totally quaint restaurant! The service and everything was really friendly and nice. I have rarely seen such a great restaurant. The price/performance ratio is absolutely great and I will always come back if possible! If you would like to reserve with several people, please specify table 7. A great table, probably made from an old door! I am absolutely fascinated and thrilled! I will come back very often!!!

After visiting the Landhaus Ewich several times, I can say “finally a good restaurant on the Dönberg again.” Prices, cuisine, ambience are all great. Very friendly staff and a nice beer garden. Even if you don't want to eat, you're welcome there, unlike the previous owner. If you like good potato pancakes, this is the place for you.

After many years here again with my family. Very attractively furnished. Good range of food, food still really good even with a new operator and decent portions; There are also senior portions of the individual meat dishes. We all enjoyed it very much.

The pancake is more like a pizza. I can only recommend changing the pancake dishes. You don't get what you expect. The taste was okay. Just a little too small for a man. The apple strudel for dessert was very tasty. Price-performance is okay. I paid around €21 for the pancake and the apple stoodle. Ambiance is very pleasant. Service staff is very friendly. But I would have to be more precise. Several mistakes were made. Overall good. But it needs a few improvements.

After the renovation, I no longer like the interior as much as I used to. But that's a matter of taste. The soup came to the table cold, but that was quickly remedied. The main course was okay, fried potatoes nice and crispy, the meat as it should be. I was missing a proper sauce. Barnaise or Hollandaise - we ordered extra sauce with it - doesn't go well with the dark meat. A good pepper or onion sauce would have gone well with it. So I washed down the relatively dry menu with the spritzer. The service is super nice and very friendly. You can have any leftover items packed up and taken with you without any problems. But I'm thinking about coming back again. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

After we were happy to learn that the Landhaus Ewich had reopened with a new operator, we were happy to be guests again. Unfortunately, the food was not at all on the same level as its predecessors. The meat of the three cordon bleus served was so hard and tough that it was almost inedible. The complaints went like in other restaurants, I'll let the kitchen know and would you like an espresso. No thanks. The boss didn't think it was necessary to come to the table to explain himself and the quality. It's a shame, a repeat visit is not possible for the time being.

Table reserved for Friday at 6 p.m., it was already packed and the parlplatz was overcrowded. This caused service to be significantly delayed and very noisy. But the food was good, the staff was friendly. From the guest's perspective, fewer tables in the crowded guest room would be desirable.

I had personally ordered a table in the window area there a week before. However, when we arrived we were assigned to a middle section table. This part of the room looked like a container, a few meters wide and elongated. There were floor-to-ceiling gray curtains drawn on three sides. When I asked the operator whether at least one could be opened, the answer was that this was not desirable. Luckily, a woman opened a curtain at the window so that the oppressive atmosphere dissipated somewhat. The wait staff, who was a bit overwhelmed, brought the drinks and menus after a long but patiently reasonable wait. After a waiting time of 1 hour and 15 minutes without the possibility of ordering drinks, the main courses arrived, the ordered starters were forgotten. The waitress couldn't explain it and we didn't want to wait any longer. The main courses were very good, not hot enough but still bearable. (similar to canteens). I can't explain why the evening went like that because the occupancy was only around 70%. When we left, the waitress was still stressed and the owner sat relaxed at a table at the front and waved in a friendly manner. However, we will give the restaurant a second chance because life experience has taught us that sometimes everything goes wrong, unintentionally! When the weather is warmer and we can sit outside, we'll come back to the test. It's a shame for my wife's birthday evening, I had planned it as a surprise but not with these inserts.

We decided relatively spontaneously and booked a table on Saturday. Even though everything was fully booked, they made it possible for us to reserve a table for half an hour later. Well, as you know, you usually have to wait again. We got there a little early and wanted to ask if we should go for another walk with our dog, but no, the table was already ready for us. We were personally shown to the table and even had a few minutes to look around. A very friendly waitress came and took the drinks. A little later we received the drinks and the menu. We were able to choose at our leisure. Nobody kept asking if we had already chosen something. The food came quickly, hot and was very tasty. We are very pleased because even though it was full, the service staff exuded a pleasant calm and were very attentive. We'll be back soon and try another dish. We went to the mountain. Coffee table - like last year. Unfortunately we were disappointed this time. All ingredients from the discounter including the cake, no cherries, unfriendly service and the landlord put something on the table and didn't even say hello. There is no price/performance ratio - what a shame!

Unfortunately my visit to this restaurant was disappointing. The schnitzel I ordered was over 75% breading and was obviously made in the deep fryer instead of the pan as stated. The wait staff was rude and arrogant, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Additionally, the goulash soup I ordered was cold and extremely fatty. Overall, the food was of poor quality and the service was inadequate. I hope that management can address these issues and improve them so that future guests can have a more pleasant experience.

This was my birthday dinner, the waitress wasn't very friendly, the food came after 10 minutes and it all looked pre-cooked. Very little sauce, my father's girlfriend almost vomited after eating, toilets were dirty. Sorry nil. Food too expensive for what you get. Atmosphere is more reminiscent of a canteen than a restaurant. Some delivery services do a better job than here. Drink prices are way too high.

Waited over 90 minutes for the food, then another 30 minutes for dessert. Quality of the food is ok, but nothing more. Service completely overwhelmed, ambience not great. You only take cash, no type of card payment is possible. You can imagine why. Not again. There are too many better alternatives for that. It'll probably close soon anyway.

Today we were at Landhaus Ewich for the first time under new management. The service was very bad. We were constantly told off that there was a lot to do and it would take a while to eat. After about 90 minutes there was bread with a spread. After another 20 minutes I asked the waitress if the food was still coming, otherwise I would be leaving within the next 10 minutes. And lo and behold, our food arrived. After 2 hours of waiting. We were told that the chef was new and didn't know what went into which dish. For me that is unprofessional. That's not how you treat guests. The food was ok. I won't go there again, it's an impertinence for me. It's a shame, the restaurant was full and it will put a lot of people off if you have to wait so long for your food.

Yesterday we had a burger at Landhaus Ewich for the first time since it reopened and it was great. Although all seats were occupied, we were served very quickly, but we were also kindly informed that it might take a while for the food to arrive since everyone ordered at the same time. No problem for us... and it didn't take that long. We sat comfortably, had a drink and then enjoyed the delicious burgers, freshly made, with country potatoes for € 12.90. Then there was a delicious dessert. Perfect! Once again a compliment to the very friendly, quick-witted young man who served us and of course also to the entire Ewich team (boss also very friendly and approachable). A table has already been reserved for next week, this time in the afternoon for coffee and cake. We wish you continued success and are already looking forward to many lovely visits to “our” old-new Ewich country house. Keep it up.

Bergisch cuisine, with unusual dishes. Delicious in reasonable quantity. A little decoration on the plate could have been done. Service a bit hectic and sometimes uncoordinated. No card payment. Since it was full, it was very, very loud.

We spontaneously drove past there on our motorbikes and wanted to take a look. The parking lot was full, so we thought it wouldn't work. But when we asked if we could sit outside on the terrace, the boss kindly asked us to choose a place. A nice waitress came straight away to bring us the menu and take our drink order. So it went on, delicious food at moderate prices. In short, this is what happens when you want to see guests again. We come by more often now, and not just by chance.

After the change of ownership, the food is still delicious, although there was a lot of confusion during our visit because the numbers on the card were not synchronized with the cash register system, the service was very friendly and tried to correct the mistakes.

Visited the restaurant again for the first time after the change of ownership. We ordered medium steak twice and received well-done steak. The 300g steak was smaller than my wife's 200g steak but €10 more expensive. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were drowning in fat and were burnt in places. The promised Expresso (as compensation) was also on the invoice. The best steaks in the valley once upon a time, we went to Ewich for steak for years. That was the last time, it's a shame we're very disappointed. Price-performance ratio is not right.

Yesterday I spontaneously went to the Ewich country inn with friends and I have to say, it was simply great. Idyllically located country house restaurant with a great ambience, friendly service and very tasty food at acceptable prices. A beautiful beer garden also invites you to linger. There are parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. The delicious Bergisch delicacies are highly recommended. Here especially the various schnitzels. All in all highly recommended. Went there for breakfast for the first time today. Yes, the food is already on the table when we arrive but there is nothing to complain about. Selection and quality are good. Generally the atmosphere is great. The only thing that bothered us was the very unfriendly service. The table was more or less refused to be cleared, eye rolling and “did you mean me” were more than rude. No tips. After saying goodbye to the boss: I'll talk to the waitress.
