Beautiful homemade Italian dishes - today was Melanzane Parmigiana! We came in at lunchtime for a double espresso (the excellent coffee and warm welcome of the Safè Espresso Bar is quite famous in Friedrichshain) and we got a look at what was to come! Sandro showed us a whole tray of Parmigiana which he was preparing for the afternoon. We cut short our daytime expedition in order to come back later and enjoy a slice each of this fabulous Italian dish. Absolutely worth it! The generous layers of cheese, tomato, thinly sliced aubergine were a real treat and reminded me why this is my all-time favourite dish. Photos below.

Hmm... I'm not one to get cold easily, but the store is too cold. So I won't come back for breakfast and menemen. Why do you leave the main door closed and don't put a sign on it? All bread knives were blunt. Why do you still leave defective chairs at the table? No EC but toilet

Ambience really exceptional and super relaxed. I felt totally comfortable. Probably also because it seems to be a casual meeting place for many residents. Not an anonymous tourist shed. However, in my opinion there is still a bit of room for improvement in terms of coffee quality. Nevertheless, a well-deserved five stars because the overall package is just right!

This could be a great place, but despite Italian expertise, the specialty coffees espresso, cappuccino, latte) were just average and the bakery goods were overly sweetened. The service is nice but nothing to run for. We didn’t check out the savoury food, so may have missed some if there better products.

Best coffee in the area, no need to look or compare any further. Everything is a waste compared to the perfect and quality coffee at Giro. The café, which is full every day, says for itself :)

Great chaps plus always a good sound on. Coffee's, though a bit on the pricey side of things. A wonderful example of how you can turn an empty space into a cool little café with a few flowers, some barrels, other self-made stuff plus some good initiative.

I have been visiting this cafe Atleast twice a week for a month now and it is one of mg favorite in the area however today i had a bad experience with a rude waitress who kept pestering me asking if i wanted more coffee when i had already order she then told me this was not a co working space and she needed the space meanwhile plenty of spaces of were available and i had been sat for too long. Very sad to see one of my favorite places turning that way…
