Today we happened to be in the fisherman's hut after a walk... and what can I say. Service, food everything perfect. The home-brewed beer is an absolute highlight. I've eaten much more expensive food and it wasn't as good as here. Absolute insider tip. We'll definitely see each other again.

It's really nice. The prices are a bit high but the food is very good

I visited the Roter Hirsch on the occasion of an event. A rich breakfast buffet was presented to us and we were able to start a hike around Heusweiler. Since the route was too strenuous for me that day, I went back to the restaurant at lunchtime to enjoy Frank Hens' cuisine. I started with the excellent fish soup. Since Friday is fish day, I was able to eat the main course of the “tribal meal”, also fish, and a very tasty dessert. Match it with an open Grauburgender and later a nice Bordeaux. I was served and advised by a very nice lady, who turned out to be Sandra Junker, sommelier. What is impressive is how Frank Hens and Sandra harmonize and complement each other in their service. After the restaurant closed, I was able to taste the wines and top advice from Sandra at her wine shop “Weinseelig”. So it's not surprising that I barely managed to get a seat in the restaurant at lunchtime. Mostly regular guests were present, my neighbor B. even comes to eat every day. In talking to Frank, I could tell that a complete professional with heart and soul runs a restaurant that you would be happy to go back to at any time and feel comfortable there. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the Roter Hirsch with Frank Hens.

Wir waren schon öfters in der Scheune und wurden nie enttäuscht. Heute hatte ich die Kartoffelsuppe vorab und im Anschluss das Argentische Rumpsteak. Top Fleisch, medium perfekt getroffen. Lediglich die Bratkartoffeln hätten können mehr Hitze vertagen. Service wie immer einwandfrei.

Actually a really great restaurant. Brilliant food and actually the service is really nice. But there was a lady who didn't think it was right that we were left out even though I had let us know. If she had said it nicely, everything would have been fine, but no, she said, and I quote: "Please sit back down immediately!" If the nice gentlemen next to us hadn't said anything, we would have gone in because we felt cramped. The worst But then everyone who ordered either after us or with us received something 25 minutes beforehand when they paid. And waiting 50 minutes for 2 chicken wings with fries is not possible then ordered us We waited 50 minutes for a fries and currywurst. Sorry but just no. My friend's sister cried because it was apparently difficult to make a fries in 15 minutes. And if you say it was Yes, it was busy, but the people who order first get it first. I come from the restaurant business and know what it's like when it's busy, but we still manage.
