Very nice atmosphere, unfortunately our food was mixed, one steak on our grill plate was only grilled on one side. The rest of the food was ok, but the portions were all too small, but the prices were rather high. The service was nice, but when the outside area became less busy in the evening, you didn't see anyone anymore. We would have liked to enjoy the ambience with a few more drinks, but unfortunately we were noticeably no longer served after 8:30 p.m. It's a shame, we expected more from the visit.

We were in the barn on Saturday. Unfortunately it was nothing. Staff disoriented, overwhelmed and unmotivated. Food: I had the mixed grill plate. The piece of turkey and the pork fillet were totally dry. So I let it go back. There wasn't even an apology. The second time the lamb was bloody on the inside and the beef was sinewy. The grill sauces... well, probably ready-made sauces. My girlfriend had land and sea. There was no question about what the beef rump should be like. She was bloody. The fried potatoes were way too greasy. Paid over 70 euros for a very bad meal. Never again.

Probably more of a mass processing than a celebratory, nice get-together. There was a lot of activity and the unkempt service staff had already forgotten their smiles when they entered. Some of the food and drinks were served to the wrong tables in a completely haphazard manner. The food was bad. For these prices, I expect reasonable service and good quality food. Even after complaining, there wasn't even an apology from the staff. Absolutely not recommended.

The Barn is our favorite place. Lots of delicious classics, but always new great seasonal creations!

Beautiful courtyard. The menu certainly offers something for everyone. We were a large group and without exception everyone was more than satisfied. Very pleasant atmosphere and top service.

The selection, presentation and ultimately the taste of the dishes is phenomenal :-) The location has always been completely full of guests when I've been there. Unfortunately, this is unfortunately the service, often no service person comes to the table for a long time, so you are left stranded for a longer period of time. The decoration could also be revised from time to time, as old objects thrown together in a haphazard manner, some of which are very dusty, unfortunately tend to disrupt the rustic ambience. However, you'll be happy to come back for the immensely delicious food, praise to the kitchen 👍🏻

Well attended on Monday evenings, nice beer garden, we were greeted at the entrance, unfortunately the waiter who welcomed us didn't bring the cards and we had to wait a long time and ask to finally get one and the service staff could have been a little more attentive over the course of the evening. But considering the workload, it's not too bad either. Food and drinks were fairly priced and of good quality.

There are usually very tasty fried potatoes (no fries, as there is no deep fryer!) and the best side salad ever! You can't go wrong with the desserts, especially grandma's ice cream pan or the dessert box are highly recommended.

Nice quaint restaurant with delicious food. I had Angus steak (English) with 3 "spicy sauces" and fried potatoes. 1. Steak was of top quality, despite being “English”, butter-tender on the inside. Rarely. The size is debatable, I could have managed a few grams more without any problems, despite the addition. 2. Three spicy sauces is unfortunately an exaggeration. 2 out of three were pleasantly tasty, the 3rd I'm not sure whether it was a sauce or puree?! 3. Fried potatoes ;-) delicious as you know them. All in all I give the food 4 out of 5 ☆ I think the price was right on the limit at €33.50. With 2 people, i.e. 2 steaks, 2 "large" shandy and a cola, we paid a little over €90, without a tip, that came extra!

We were there in a group. The menu is manageable and focused on barbecue/grilled food. Service was tried hard, but everything took quite a long time even though the restaurant was not busy. - Quality ok but plates presented carelessly. What doesn't work for me at all: Side dishes were put on the table in bowls for several people. - There are therefore significantly better alternatives for the price level. So unfortunately I can't recommend it.

We are from the town and have often eaten very happily in the barn. Service and food have always been top. Yesterday we were really unhappy. We were consistently overlooked by the waitresses. We expressed that too. Unfortunately nothing changed that evening. After an email to Bachs, Mr. Bach called me today and explained the currently difficult situation with the staff. We know the problem of finding good staff ourselves. We really hope that things get better for the barn. We are pleased that Mr. Bach took our criticism so seriously and personally apologized for it. We would be happy to give you another chance

My partner and I regularly eat at the barn and we really look forward to it every time. The food is wonderful, always fresh, large enough portions and the service is fantastic. Time is taken for the guests and the staff is always, without exception, friendly. Despite inflation, the prices are fair and absolutely not exorbitant. You definitely don't pay too much for the quality of the food. Whether it's meat dishes, salads or the incredibly tasty desserts: everyone who likes hearty food will find what they're looking for on the barn's menu. We look forward to every single visit!!❤️

Food is so-so and the service sucks. I liked being there once. But the waiters there are so unfriendly and they don't pay attention to you and don't ask you if you want to order anything else, even though the waiters see that the drinks are empty. And when you ask questions about your order/food you are stupidly turned away. Then I'd rather go somewhere else. Never go to this restaurant again.

The barn offers a rustic coziness that invites you to sit for longer periods of time. Unfortunately you have to clear the table after 90 minutes to make room for the next guests. The food was delicious, but our waiter was unfriendly. Unfortunately no one came to our table to take further orders. It's a shame - the barn seems to be designed for mass production...

Truly a beautiful place where you can immerse yourself in German food and culinary culture. If you find yourself near Homburg/Limbach for tourism or a business trip, I recommend you spend an evening in this typical German restaurant. We ate very well and I also compliment the service, which was courteous and kind.

The portion of meat has become smaller and the price has increased, but we all noticed that. However, the quality is still just as good.

We were invited for a birthday on Saturday. Since we have a large dog, I called the day before. The lady was very unfriendly. I asked if a table a little further away would be possible because of the dog, as he is big. I got the answer that they were fully booked, the dog had to go under the table because they had to go through and - since our yoshi didn't fit under the table - they couldn't take that into account. So my husband couldn't go with me. Then I got Cola Zero completely non-carbonated with another guest. But everything would be fine. Got new drinks. Then I got an apple spritzer, also completely non-carbonated. Didn't complain anymore. By the way, it was the same lady as on the phone. Otherwise the ambience was very good and so was the food. And the best thing: we sat at a table that would have had more than enough space on the side for our Yoshi. After I asked her about it at the end, I only heard a terse excuse. Very unfortunate

Delicious food! However, if your primary language is English I wouldn't recommend visiting. I speak enough German to follow simple instructions but would expect hosts who quite obviously speak English well to do so to simplify interactions. The entire meal was very awkward as they would speak in Geman, I'd answer in English, and they'd respond again in German while making no effort to ensure I understood. While being seated, instead of being led to our table we were told 'go sit at table 27' which we did. (I know we were told 27 as again I speak basic German). Later our host came by and moved the table numbers in front of us and to himself (in German) "I said sit at 26 I meant 26". The evening was long and awkward as we watch later arrivals then us recieve their meals before us, and waitstaff gave the coldest service I've received anywhere in Europe thus far.

We have enjoyed going to the barn for years. It's impressive to see how the owners are there for the guests every day. But all the other employees are great too! I'm always happy about the monthly menu because there are always new, sophisticated and seasonal dishes. But the food from the main menu is always tasty and of good quality! An employee once told me: "We don't have anything breaded or fried." In my opinion, this once again underlines the quality. The menu also says: "We don't cook vegan." Okay, that's a statement. Nevertheless, I find it very positive that there are increasingly vegetarian dishes on the menu. Yes, their steak is outstanding, but sometimes I don't want meat. Everything I've eaten so far has been really good. The price-performance ratio is right. Speaking of the menu: I really enjoy reading the jokes. Inside the barn is winding and you never know where you will sit. Each place has its own charm and the decoration is magnificent. We also love sitting outside when it's not too cold and the orange lights are on. I really hope that you continue like this for a long time and that when you find a successor, that he or she will continue it just as well!

Okay, meine Frau sagt, ich soll es nicht schlechter machen, als es war, also gebe ich mir redlich Mühe: Wir waren vor Corona schon öfter in der Scheune und waren immer Zwischen zufrieden und begeistert. Jetzt wohnen wir etwas weiter weg, aber die Vorfreude auf einen schönen Abend mit gutem Essen ist uns schon mal eine kleine Reise wert. Dieses mal hatte uns aber die wesentlich reduzierte Karte schon erstaunt. Gerichte, die wir gerne gegessen hatten, waren nun weg. Okay, das kann passieren. Auch konnte man bei Fleisch früher Gewichtsklassen wählen, das ist auch Geschichte. Die Antwort des Kellners auf die Frage nach Pommes statt Bratkartoffeln "Wir haben das nicht, wir sind ein gutes Restaurant" war grenzwertig und keineswegs okay. Von einem guten Kellner in einem guten Restaurant hätte ich da eine bessere Reaktion erwartet. Das Essen war wieder gut, meine SpareRibs waren lecker mariniert, nur schade, dass sehr viel Fett dran war. Mein Tischnachbar mochte das, ich halt nicht. Früher war eine Dessertvariation in der Karte. Die fanden wir jetzt nicht mehr. Nun gut, die Karte ist kleiner geworden. Aber als genau diese Variation an einen Tisch in der Nachbarschaft gebracht wurde, war die Enttäuschung groß. Insgesamt ist die Scheune auf unserer Rangliste ein spürbares Stück gesunken, schade drum..

Essen war mehr als versalzen. Und nicht nur einzelne Produkte sondern jedes einzelne Gericht. Unserer ganzen Familie war nach dem Essen schlecht. Es stört mich dass diese ganzen Restaurants für unterirdisches Essen und schlechten Service soviel Geld verlangen und die Gäste dies auch noch dulden. Dort werden wir niemals mehr essen.

In der obersten Ecke des Hauses war es sehr kalt und ohne Jacke nicht auszuhalten, da der Heizkörper nicht funktionierte. Auf das Essen haben wir über 1,5 Stunden warten müssen und die Ausrede dafür, es sei so viel los an dem Abend, konnten wir nicht ganz glauben, da andere wesentlich später gekommene Gäste im Vergleich zügig ihre Vor- und Hauptspeisen vor uns bekamen - also vor uns aßen. Eine bestellte Vorspeise wurde vergessen. Für uns leider der letzte Besuch der Scheune.

Wir waren mit Freunden vor Weihnachten in der Scheune. Das Ambiente ist einfach der Hammer :-) Das Essen von der Weihnachtskarte war top und alles kam zur gleichen Zeit (20 an der Zahl)...Super!!! Mini Kritik...Vielleicht ein Kindergericht mit auf die Karte nehmen ;-)

Ambiente und Service absolut top. Essen war gut, aber nichts besonderes und dafür sehr teuer.

Leckeres, qualitativ hochwertiges Essen in einer gemütlichen und zwanglosen Umgebung. Preise sind der Qualität angemessen. Empfehlenswert ist die Rindshüfte in Glühweinsauce. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend.

Leider waren wir dieses Jahr Weihnachten sehr enttäuscht, wir gehen des öfteren in die Scheune essen, aber hier am 26.12. war es eher eine Massenabfertigung als ein feierliches nettes Beisammensein, der Service hatte schon das Lächeln beim Eintreten vergessen und wir saßen an der Treppe, wo ein reges treiben herrschte. Das Essen war gut aber für diese Preise, erwarte ich auch einen angemessenen Service und ein nettes Ambiente und nicht einen Platz wie am Bahnhof. Gegen Ende unseres Zeitplans(2h) sagte die Bedienung, nun gäbe es nichts mehr, Tisch muss für den nächsten vorbereitet werden, ist ja verständlich aber könnte man auch anders einfordern. Unsere Konsequenz hierzu ist nun, an den Feiertagen dort nicht mehr essen zu gehen, im Sommer im Garten draußen auf ein Bier ist es sicherlich netter.

Gehen Weihnachten meistens in die Scheune essen, da uns das Ambiente sehr gefällt! Essen ist natürlich auch gut und der Service war dieses Jahr besonderst lobenswert !!! Tisch 14 bedankt sich nochmal recht herzlich ... Nur 1ne kleine Kritik/Anmerkung hab ich an die Küche: die Soße ist meistens zu wenig 😉 Bis zum nächsten mal...

Eigentlich war ich immer sehr gerne in diesem Restaurant, vor allem wegen des wunderschönen Ambientes, aber bei meinem gestrigen Besuch kam doch leider einiges zusammen, was mich dazu bewegt hat, mein Geld dort nicht mehr auszugeben: - Als ich im Kassenbereich darauf wartete, zu unserem Tisch gebracht zu werden, musste ich ein Schild lesen, auf dem stand: Wir sind hier nicht bei "Wünsch' dir was", sondern bei "So isses". Sehr einladend für jeden Restaurantbesucher! - Als ich mein Glas Rotwein serviert bekam, musste ich mich von der Kellnerin rügen lassen: "Du hast doch noch ein Bier vor dir stehen." Ich möchte aber bitte selbst entscheiden dürfen, wann ich was trinken möchte. - Die Bratkartoffeln waren etwas trocken und lieblos. Wäre normal nicht so das Problem, aber bei den Preisen, die mittlerweile in der Scheune aufgerufen werden (Angus-Rumpsteak früher 27,90 Euro, jetzt 36,90 Euro!!!!) sollte das Essen doch eine gehobene Qualität aufweisen! Wenn ich für 2 Personen 75 Euro zahle für 1 Sprudel, ein alkoholfreies Weizen, 1 Glas (0,2l) Primitivo, 2 Essen, dürfte ich schon etwas mehr Qualität erwarten können. Darum war das für mich das letzte Mal. Schade, Scheune...aber Ambiente ist eben nicht alles...

Tolles Restaurant! Wir gehen dort jedes Jahr mit unserer Freundesgruppe für unser traditionelles Vorweihnachtsessen hin und das Essen war jedes Mal klasse! Sowohl die besonderen weihnachtlichen Gerichte als auch Deko und Ambiente sorgen für eine perfekte Stimmung. Besonders lieben wir die mit Käse überbackene Zwiebelsuppe als Vorspeise und die Dessertkiste, die einen mit vielen kleinen Köstlichkeiten überrascht. Die Fleischgerichte, die wir als Hauptspeise hatten, waren perfekt zubereitet. Auch der Service war super, also sehr zu empfehlen!

Waren heute zur Weihnachtsfeier essen Service war gut bis auf vier Esssn die nicht in Ordnung waren mein Ersatzgericht ging auch zurück Fleisch war trocken ging dann hungrig aus dem Lokal.Die Speisekarte war unflexibel für Vegetarier überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen.
