Die Scheune in Kirkel

Wir waren schon öfters in der Scheune und wurden nie enttäuscht. Heute hatte ich die Kartoffelsuppe vorab und im Anschluss das Argentische Rumpsteak. Top Fleisch, medium perfekt getroffen. Lediglich die Bratkartoffeln hätten können mehr Hitze vertagen. Service wie immer einwandfrei.

An unforgettable winter birthday in the open air! I celebrated my birthday in “Die Scheune” in Kirkel-Limbach - and it was simply perfect! Despite the cold season, the celebration took place mainly outdoors. The rustic outdoor area with the grill created a wonderful atmosphere that was ideal for a relaxed, atmospheric celebration. I was particularly impressed by the creative cuisine: the landlord, himself a passionate cook, always surprises with unusual, tasteful ideas. Not only classic delicacies were prepared on the grill, but also special delicacies that you can't find everywhere. Anyone who is willing to try something new and trusts their hosts will get their money's worth here. The loving hospitality and the unique ambience made my birthday an unforgettable experience. The staff was also great - attentive, warm and always making sure that nothing was missing. If you are looking for a location for a celebration, be it in winter or at any other time of the year, you have come to the right place. I can only warmly recommend “The Barn” and am already looking forward to my next visit!

A huge thing with a very nice ambience, although it fluctuated a bit between a hunting lodge, a western saloon and a honeymoon suite. I didn't see a clear concept, but it was still beautifully and lavishly designed. The service was great, the employees were very friendly and helpful - even with special requests about allergies and diets. The food however... I had a garlic baguette as a starter, but it was only about 1 1/2 times as long as my smartphone and could therefore only be described benevolently as a "baguette". And the garlic was clearly visible as a neon green paste, but could hardly be tasted. Even the garlic baguette from the refrigerated section at the discount store has more oomph. For the main course I had the fried potatoes with quark and bacon. They tasted pretty good. However, it was more “quark with fried potatoes” than the other way around. And for me, a main criterion for a good restaurant is that the main course and side dish must be enough to use up the sauce/dip. That was absolutely not the case here. Together with a large Sprite I left €21, which seems a bit steep considering the quantity and quality of the food. But it wasn't bad and I was full. But there probably won't be a second time.

Has degraded significantly. The service was not attentive at all, there were endless waiting times and even a discount that we were legally entitled to was laughed at. We didn't feel like saying anything else and will go somewhere else in the future, which is a shame.

Been there for Christmas... A perfect evening! One of the best steaks with home-style fried potatoes; in an upscale atmosphere with very friendly service, which was very on point. The unusual desserts are highly recommended.

Great ambience and good service. Only the food wasn't that good today. As a starter I had the pumpkin soup, which deserves 5 stars. Really very good. The main course was not recommended, cutlet with a beer sauce and fried potatoes. The recommendation of the day. The meat was dry, tough and very mixed. The kitchen probably tried to save the meat with a lot of oil, but that didn't make it any better. The sauce was ok. I left the fried potatoes standing, they were full of oil that had already soaked into the potatoes. I had the impression that the fried potatoes were made in the morning and then sat in the oil until the evening. We were there in a large group and the service was busy. Still, it's a shame that my food was probably forgotten and I only got it after the group had already finished their meal. It's also a shame that my complaint wasn't really responded to. I've eaten very well in the Scheune, always worth 5 stars. Unfortunately not this time.

Such bad food at an impossible price. Salad dry, almost no sauce. Comb steak dry and full of tendons and fleas. After the complaint, it was said that that's just how comb roast is. Do you want a coffee? We rejected it.

We were there at Christmas. Some of the food was cold. The service was nice, but some of the wrong drinks were delivered. The payment process also took a little longer. Too bad for that!

Wir waren schon öfter da gewesen und immer sehr zufrieden. Aber gestern war es nicht so toll. Als Begrüßung sagte man uns direkt, dass wir um kurz vor 20 Uhr fertig sein müssen, hatten für 18 Uhr reserviert. Da hatte ich sofort den Drang um mich umzudrehen und zu gehen. Das Essen war teilweise richtig gut aber die gefüllte Hüftsteak waren nicht gut. Auch wenn es stressige Tage sind sollte man doch auf Qualität achten und vor allem die Gäste zuvorkommend begrüßen

Ambience and service very good, but the steak for €33 wasn't really great, you needed good teeth. Feedback that the steak wasn't a burner was simply accepted by the service, negative feedback doesn't seem to happen that often.

Great atmosphere, friendly and competent service, delicious food! We love the restaurant and always enjoy coming back! I recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends. The restaurant is well-known and popular, a spontaneous visit could fail. (Although: I just called and managed to get a table for today DESPITE the many Christmas parties! Thank you ❤️❤️) The decoration, especially during Christmas time, is terrific!!

The ambience alone is worth a visit. Very winding, very decorated in the theme, something to look at everywhere. The food was also very tasty, only the vegetarian selection is limited, it is just based on meat. But my potato dumpling with pumpkin vegetables was great and the cheesecake for dessert was heavenly. The service staff were attentive and very friendly. In summary, we always enjoy coming back!

It wasn't my first time in the barn, unfortunately she couldn't convince me on my last visit. The food (onion soup, grilled plate, grumble with ice cream and fruit) wasn't bad in taste - but - very superficial for the price range. Visually thrown onto the plate, grumbles that looked like a cinnamon wafer. I hope it was just a bad day on the chef's part, because at a certain price you can expect consistent quality in terms of taste and appearance.

A real boomer experience! The food and service were really good and friendly, the cuisine is home-style German and very, very meat-heavy. There was a single dish without meat on the (normal) menu, vegan dishes are expressly not offered, which I personally find a bit out of date. The food itself was good and came relatively quickly. What I didn't like was the pop music that played relatively loudly on a continuous loop. Why not just play some instrumental music? And above all, quieter? Also a bit strange were the latently misogynistic Boomer jokes (along the lines of "The woman/marriage is terrible") that were in the wine list (sic!) for "entertainment". Therefore I have to say that this location is best suited to the slightly older vintages. Here you can protect yourself well from the supposed forced veganization and say a few sayings that you are “no longer allowed to say”.

Wir waren letzte Woche in Der Scheune. Ich bestellte einen Schweizer Wurstsalat. Was serviert wurde war ein echter Witz. Es war ein Baukasten Salat. Statt reingeschnittene Zutaten fand sich darin eine Gewürzgurke im Großformat, einige Eierstücke ebenfalls großstückig, auch Köse und Wurst schwammen in einem Ölgemisch ohne jeglichen Geschmack. Die Reklamation brachte aus einem übelst teilnahmslosen Kellner auch nur ein „ Das ist halt so“ hervor, Schulnote eine glatte Ungenügend.

Great ambience, delicious food (instead of French fries there are delicious fried potatoes 👍) The inner courtyard is also very nicely designed, we always sit outside in the summer...😊

The barn is always worth a visit. The food is very tasty, fresh and prepared with a lot of love. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, making you feel comfortable as a guest right from the start. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also pleasant and inviting. Highly recommended.

A visit to the barn is always something special. Unfortunately, far too rare. The food was and is always very tasty and of a very high quality. Some very great creative dishes or well-known dishes reinterpreted. The staff and owner are always very nice, even when it's full. Great outdoor area, even in autumn/winter.

Food was fantastic, Angus steak! Price medium. But food was not delivered correctly. Service very friendly, but probably overwhelmed by too much activity. Recommended but still room for improvement. I'm going there again.

Unfortunately we come far too rarely, but it's always worth the trip to Limbach. It's extremely impressive how the boss has the store under control. We always get our favorite dessert, even though it's not on the menu. A consistent 5 star rating without any complaints!

Although we didn't come to eat until 1:30 p.m. and the kitchen is open until 2 p.m., we were able to order and eat in peace until 3 p.m. The waiter was very accommodating and also recommended the daily specials to us. Very nice atmosphere, unfortunately our food was mixed, one steak on our grill plate was only grilled on one side. The rest of the food was ok, but the portions were all too small, but the prices were rather high. The service was nice, but when the outside area became less busy in the evening, you didn't see anyone anymore. We would have liked to enjoy the ambience with a few more drinks, but unfortunately we were noticeably no longer served after 8:30 p.m. It's a shame, we expected more from the visit.

We were in the barn on Saturday. Unfortunately it was nothing. Staff disoriented, overwhelmed and unmotivated. Food: I had the mixed grill plate. The piece of turkey and the pork fillet were totally dry. So I let it go back. There wasn't even an apology. The second time the lamb was bloody on the inside and the beef was sinewy. The grill sauces... well, probably ready-made sauces. My girlfriend had land and sea. There was no question about what the beef rump should be like. She was bloody. The fried potatoes were way too greasy. Paid over 70 euros for a very bad meal. Never again.

Probably more of a mass processing than a celebratory, nice get-together. There was a lot of activity and the unkempt service staff had already forgotten their smiles when they entered. Some of the food and drinks were served to the wrong tables in a completely haphazard manner. The food was bad. For these prices, I expect reasonable service and good quality food. Even after complaining, there wasn't even an apology from the staff. Absolutely not recommended.

The Barn is our favorite place. Lots of delicious classics, but always new great seasonal creations!

The selection, presentation and ultimately the taste of the dishes is phenomenal :-) The location has always been completely full of guests when I've been there. Unfortunately, this is unfortunately the service, often no service person comes to the table for a long time, so you are left stranded for a longer period of time. The decoration could also be revised from time to time, as old objects thrown together in a haphazard manner, some of which are very dusty, unfortunately tend to disrupt the rustic ambience. However, you'll be happy to come back for the immensely delicious food, praise to the kitchen 👍🏻

Well attended on Monday evenings, nice beer garden, we were greeted at the entrance, unfortunately the waiter who welcomed us didn't bring the cards and we had to wait a long time and ask to finally get one and the service staff could have been a little more attentive over the course of the evening. But considering the workload, it's not too bad either. Food and drinks were fairly priced and of good quality.

As always good, food very tasty with a good selection for every taste. Service attentive, especially the boss. Great atmosphere, inside and outside. The grilled dishes are particularly recommended! There are usually very tasty fried potatoes (no fries, as there is no deep fryer!) and the best side salad ever! You can't go wrong with the desserts, especially grandma's ice cream pan or the dessert box are highly recommended.

Nice quaint restaurant with delicious food. I had Angus steak (English) with 3 "spicy sauces" and fried potatoes. 1. Steak was of top quality, despite being “English”, butter-tender on the inside. Rarely. The size is debatable, I could have managed a few grams more without any problems, despite the addition. 2. Three spicy sauces is unfortunately an exaggeration. 2 out of three were pleasantly tasty, the 3rd I'm not sure whether it was a sauce or puree?! 3. Fried potatoes ;-) delicious as you know them. All in all I give the food 4 out of 5 ☆ I think the price was right on the limit at €33.50. With 2 people, i.e. 2 steaks, 2 "large" shandy and a cola, we paid a little over €90, without a tip, that came extra!

We were there in a group. The menu is manageable and focused on barbecue/grilled food. Service was tried hard, but everything took quite a long time even though the restaurant was not busy. - Quality ok but plates presented carelessly. What doesn't work for me at all: Side dishes were put on the table in bowls for several people. - There are therefore significantly better alternatives for the price level. So unfortunately I can't recommend it.

We are from the town and have often eaten very happily in the barn. Service and food have always been top. Yesterday we were really unhappy. We were consistently overlooked by the waitresses. We expressed that too. Unfortunately nothing changed that evening. After an email to Bachs, Mr. Bach called me today and explained the currently difficult situation with the staff. We know the problem of finding good staff ourselves. We really hope that things get better for the barn. We are pleased that Mr. Bach took our criticism so seriously and personally apologized for it. We would be happy to give you another chance

My partner and I regularly eat at the barn and we really look forward to it every time. The food is wonderful, always fresh, large enough portions and the service is fantastic. Time is taken for the guests and the staff is always, without exception, friendly. Despite inflation, the prices are fair and absolutely not exorbitant. You definitely don't pay too much for the quality of the food. Whether it's meat dishes, salads or the incredibly tasty desserts: everyone who likes hearty food will find what they're looking for on the barn's menu. We look forward to every single visit!!❤️

Food is so-so and the service sucks. I liked being there once. But the waiters there are so unfriendly and they don't pay attention to you and don't ask you if you want to order anything else, even though the waiters see that the drinks are empty. And when you ask questions about your order/food you are stupidly turned away. Then I'd rather go somewhere else. Never go to this restaurant again.
