Located in the heart of the old town, but in a quieter side street, the restaurant combines tradition and modernity. The food is good, home-style with a modern touch and seasonal daily recommendations. They have the best schnitzel here, I promise. The prices are fair, the audience is mixed from young to old. Both the party people who want to eat in advance as well as the "silver surfers" and business people. The outside area is casual (see photos).
I think it's brilliant that the restaurateur (Christoph Söhnel) also took over the burgers from my former favorite burger restaurant (Stier Royal).
By the way, there is a small boutique hotel above with just a few rooms. Very few people know this and you can still call it an “insider tip”.
I am very disappointed. The breakfast was very tasty but the lunch was not as good, hardly any food as it is on the menu and generally not as described.
Large-scale baked goods are offered here at prices like those on Timmendorfer Strand.
Unfortunately, neither the flattened cheese and mandarin cake from the previous day nor the apple strudel with ice cream and cream were convincing in terms of taste.
If I want to eat industrial cake, I can get it cheaper in a supermarket.
I can't say it any other way, but we were very disappointed.
We were there for lunch. The selection of dishes is not large but we found what we were looking for. The soup and salad were very tasty and we also got a baguette. Our main courses were not only beautifully presented, but also tasted really good. We found it very tasty!
Went here for lunch today and were thrilled. From various types of schnitzel, sliced meat and sauerbraten to perfect rösti, fries and salad - it couldn't have been better. For dessert there were delicious cream puffs, ice cream sundaes and fine coffee. The service was also very good and the waiting time for the food wasn't too long, even though everything was freshly prepared. We also liked the many small historical objects in the restaurant that tell of past times in the Ore Mountains. We felt completely comfortable and would definitely like to come back!
We were there for dinner with six people.
It still has the aura of a village pub, which is definitely a positive thing.
We ate mussels and schnitzel there. Everything was very tasty and plentiful at a good price
Price performance fits.
Unfortunately, the best days are long gone... there is now an order counter, which is common these days and can be a good thing... the owner really tries hard, it's certainly not easy as a lone fighter... We've eaten much better there, there's no ambience anymore...the decorative plants have given up and everything around it too...that was the impression from the terrace, hopefully it's better inside, which is desirable would be...... It's a shame, we've always enjoyed staying here in the past.....am a little sad right now
I had lunch there today. There was a self-service buffet. Three different main courses, one of which was vegetarian. Anyone could take it. Everything tasted great. The service was super friendly. I was skeptical based on the previous reviews, but that was unfounded.
I won't have to make sandwiches for my next training session as I'll definitely eat there again!
And there's also delicious coffee...
