From north to south sns east to west, i have traveled extensively throughout Germany.
As a Canadian with German heritage, i seek out homeland comfort foods.
The Gasthaus zu Sonne has been a regualer stop for me while visiting friends in this area locally.
The food is outstanding and the supurb, friendly staff is so welcoming and kind.
This is a must go-to restaurant for traditional German offering. The natural and highest quality of ingredients can be tasted wity each bite.
Looking forward to my next vist during the national 'Asparagus Festivals' ('Spargel Fest') during mid-April to mid-May.
Super tasty and very cozy.
Spiced meat as a starter (it's not on the menu as a starter but since there are schnitzels with spiced meat, they were kind enough to make one for me).
The main course is rosemary roast pork with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings. I have rarely eaten such a tender and juicy roast. Food was beautifully prepared. I'd love to come back
Price performance is okay. I've had better for the same money. But that doesn't mean it's bad. There is a large selection of food. If you want, you can also eat on site.
This time we were on MC Drive. Fast service thanks to pre-ordering in the app and smooth processing by the very friendly employees. Everything received as ordered. Vouchers used. However, the discounted MC fish only had half a slice of cheese on it! Is that normal?
Update, got chicken nuggets instead of plant nuggets today. Plant Burger wasn't in the bag at all. Had to go back and point it out. Employees speak German poorly.
I wonder why I even entered this place. If you have 220 dishes on the menu, that can't be anything. And that's how it was. The man behind the counter was very sleazy just like the store. I really can't recommend this place. Creepy.
It's been a long time since I've had a buffet there again. I was so looking forward to the fresh meat that would then be fried. That doesn't seem to exist anymore. As in all Asian restaurants, there was the same breaded stuff. Too bad.
The people were very friendly and the coffee was delicious, just a little too little for almost €5.
