The restaurant is already showing its age and needs renovation. The staff wears a kind of sports sweatshirt instead of shirts.
The extractor hood doesn't work properly, and there's a strong smell coming from the kitchen, even on the second floor.
The prices are too high for such mediocre food and small portions.
A rustic trattoria
See full of small tables
The food is good, but there is still room for improvement here
Fairly priced, but not the best.
With more love you could bring a better flair here
It's a shame about the great atmosphere.
Delicious and beautiful at the Hofbräu am Dom!
We arrived, found a nice seat, and ordered our food.
Very nice ambiance, and very delicious food. The service gets one star less, as unfortunately, we couldn't get a meat dish with any other side dish, even though it was paid for.
But otherwise, everything was very good.
We can recommend the Hofbräu am Dom.
We went there for lunch on a recommendation. The ambiance is really nice and modern. We were practically the only ones there during the week, so we were served quickly and our food arrived quickly. The starter was unfortunately a flop, and is served much better in similar restaurants. Here, it tasted like it had been yesterday and was almost cold. Drinks were tasty, but charging €8 for a 0.4L lemonade is a bit much. The main course was very tasty, and the portions were OK. We probably won't be going back, as other Asian restaurants do much better, and sometimes even cheaper, dishes.
Beautiful ambiance, friendly and prompt service, and great steaks – not cheap but still worth the price. Three out of three steaks were perfectly medium. The schnitzel with spiced meat was also excellent. The side dishes are generous. You'll definitely be filling.
One small suggestion for improvement: Warm up the plates so the food doesn't cool down so quickly.
The food is very good, including the finger food. The pizza can get very expensive very quickly, but the price is justified. I always enjoy coming here.
My wife and I are from Hesse and often spend a few days in Bischleben-Stedten, a suburb of Erfurt.
Not far from our regular guesthouse is the restaurant "Zur Schuhleiste." We've eaten there several times now. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, partly rustic, partly modern.
The seating is very comfortable.
At first, the owner seems a bit stuffy, but he's a great conversationalist. The menu is limited (about 7-8 dishes), but there's something for everyone. The food is simply delicious, the portions are quite generous, and you'll be fairly full. The price/performance ratio is more than good.
We're already looking forward to our next visit to the Schuhleiste.
As part of a visit to Erfurt we visited Dilan Kebab Haus. Unfortunately, the actual visit did not live up to expectations and was overall disappointing.
As soon as you entered the store, you noticed that only a turkey and chicken rotisserie was offered. This was not clearly evident in the pictures available online (apparently old pictures). Although poultry is generally a common alternative, at least an additional meat option (e.g. veal or beef) would have been desirable - especially in a highly competitive environment like Erfurt.
The skewer itself seemed quite raw when I looked at it, which wasn't particularly appetizing. Unfortunately, the taste of the turkey meat was not convincing - the kebab was correspondingly disappointing. The sauces (both special and the spicy version) were not balanced in taste; The hot sauce in particular had no heat at all. The consistency of the bread was too unstable and it tore while eating, which made the whole thing even more difficult.
Spaghetti Carbonara was also ordered, which was more reminiscent of fried pasta with egg and gratinated cheese - for me the taste was far removed from carbonara sauce or something similar. A portion of fries for 5 euros, without ketchup or mayo, seemed significantly overpriced compared to the quality.
Overall, the visit left a lot to be desired both in terms of taste and value for money. Especially in a city like Erfurt, where there are numerous alternatives, a catering establishment should offer more - both in quality and variety. From our perspective, it was a disappointing experience that we would not recommend.
