A truly wonderful restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious, prepared with so much love, and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality and tell that the cooking is done with passion. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. The ambiance is very authentic, cozy, and charming—perfect for enjoying a lovely evening. A real highlight in Erfurt.

A really lovely restaurant; you can also sit outside under patio heaters, and they even provide extra blankets. The staff were incredibly friendly, even though it was very busy. Our group alone was quite large at 50 people, and there were other guests there as well.

Well, the food was world-class (a shout-out to the maestro de cuisine). We both had the Thuringian specialty, the cabbage roll (the red cabbage and dumplings were also delicious), and I had the spiced meat (steak with caramelized onions, mashed potatoes, and salad). It was absolutely delicious. And the service was very attentive and friendly. They even asked if we liked it, and when a glass was empty, we were asked what we wanted next. 5 stars. The ambience is very pleasant. Subtle lighting, just what you need for a romantic evening. We were there for about two or three hours. We were also impressed by the background music and the overall atmosphere.

I was a guest at Faustus in Erfurt and can wholeheartedly recommend it. The ambiance is modern, cozy, and yet very stylish – you immediately feel welcome. The staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and courteous, without being intrusive. I would particularly like to highlight the excellent cuisine: the dishes are freshly prepared, perfectly flavorful, and creatively presented. The selection of drinks is also diverse and high-quality. The value for money is absolutely perfect. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience – if you value good food, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere in Erfurt, Faustus is the place to be.

I felt very comfortable in this restaurant in the historic center of the city. The service was extremely pleasant, helpful and even funny. I always appreciate that. We tried regional specialties and they were well prepared.

The location is good, but I can't rate the food because the service was not only unfriendly but also insulting. To the owner, I can't believe that such unfriendly people are allowed to work for you. I simply left, and then the next customer was yelled at by the lady. I'm not going into your establishment!

We've been here twice now. The food was very good both times, and the atmosphere—especially outside—is beautiful and highly recommended. However, the service unfortunately fluctuates considerably: sometimes super friendly, attentive, and courteous, sometimes rather disinterested and lacking in any apparent commitment. While you're served as best you can, the atmosphere isn't inviting. Tipping tends to be more of a sense of duty than pleasure. It's a real shame, because with its excellent cuisine and beautiful location, the restaurant has the potential to be a real highlight.

Faustus Restaurant is a great place! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, with a modern and cosy style that makes you feel relaxed. The food is very tasty, nicely served, and full of real German flavours. Every dish we had was fresh and well-cooked. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made our visit even better. Whether you come for a casual meal or a special occasion, Faustus is a perfect choice. The restaurant is located directly on Wenigemarkt and the entrance to the Krämerbrücke. The outdoor terrace is busy. The service is prompt and friendly. The food tastes good and the portions are generous.

We were in Erfurt over the weekend and yesterday at lunchtime we went to Faustus, and what can I say? It was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. We felt very comfortable. We had a small business lunch there and managed to get a nice seat in the restaurant even without a reservation. There was a larger group next to us, and we were worried we'd have to wait a long time for our food. But we weren't disappointed and were served quickly and efficiently. The service was excellent, and the girls were very nice. PS: We were also able to teach the staff a little something, like the Aquavit line. =) We'd love to come back.

This review refers exclusively to the beer garden. It is idyllically located behind the Krämerbrücke (Merchant's Bridge) and serves Thuringian bratwurst from the charcoal grill. For my guest, it was a welcome stop on a city tour of Erfurt. Unfortunately, we were too late the first time; all the bratwursts for the day had already been sold. In a friendly conversation, the young owner of the stand asked us to come back the next day. His colleague would then be happy to sell us a freshly grilled sausage. No sooner said than done. At lunchtime, we headed back to the beer garden and met an older gentleman at the stall. For €4 per bratwurst in a bun, we received a "normal-sized" sausage and one that was obviously too small. The sausage was exactly the length of the bun and, contrary to claims to the contrary, could not have met the specified weight in its raw state. When I asked for a normal-sized sausage for the price quoted, I received the rude reply: "The small ones have to be sold too!" Further discussion was pointless/unsuccessful. This has nothing to do with value for money, but rather the appearance of a rip-off, especially since the size difference was obvious and would have been noticeable even in the raw state. In any case, this isn't an advertisement for Erfurt hospitality, and the rudeness of the elderly stall owner doesn't seem to be a slip-up, given the previously published experiences of other visitors. I can only recommend that guests who value friendly service and a reasonable response to reasonable requests make sure the elderly gentleman isn't on duty before visiting the beer garden. This will avoid disappointment.

We tried Faustus again and were more than impressed. The steak was perfect. The side dishes and the Caesar salad are highly recommended. A delicious strawberry punch rounded off the drinks menu. The staff is very attentive and very friendly. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Faustus.

A wonderfully located restaurant where I've eaten very well many times. The schnitzel was very good today, but the asparagus was simply abysmal: much too thick and tough, barely edible despite the excellent hollandaise sauce. It's a shame that the asparagus ruined everything... I'd happily go back, but definitely never asparagus again... The staff is very friendly.

Unfortunately, I have to give this one star so I can express myself. We had a very unpleasant argument in the beer garden on Sunday morning. We ordered a non-alcoholic Hefeweizen, which was listed as draft beer on the menu board, and a Sarti Spritz. The young man placed a bottle in front of me with a plastic cup over it. When I asked for a suitable glass, which was in the background, I received a rude reply that they didn't have any glasses for the Krämerbrückenfest. We've been to this now beautifully designed beer garden several times because you can enjoy a drink there in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle. After a brief discussion, we forwent the hospitality and went to the ZDF beer garden, where drinks are generally served in the designated glasses—even during the Krämerbrückenfest and without a deposit. Your qualified employee dismissed us with the following words: We can do without people like you. We will gladly follow his recommendation.

I always thought the best Thuringian bratwurst was at Willy B. at Erfurt Central Station. But Faustus just barely made it to number one for me. They seem to focus on using particularly high-quality meat in their sausages. And the sauerkraut and carrot side dish with three towers of mashed potatoes is a dream.

We spent a very pleasant evening at Faustus. The excellent service from the owner's junior chef and the perfectly cooked entrecôte were no less important. We'll definitely be back.

A good restaurant at the end or beginning of the Merchants' Bridge. Typical Thuringian dishes, including burgers and other specialties, are served with something for everyone. Prices are reasonable, and the plates are generously filled; if you don't get full, it's your own fault.

We had a very good lunch here today. The schnitzel was beautifully crispy, well seasoned, and the meat was of good quality. We had the Faustus schnitzel, which was au foure. The gratin was also excellent. The fries and salad were crispy. My request for a shandy with Kellerbier was also happily fulfilled. The grappa that followed rounded everything off perfectly. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We would be happy to come back.

Top food, nice cocktails and a great ambience

A nice bar in itself, but the most unfriendly thing that's happened to us in a long time. We were in Erfurt for a week-long conference and wanted to go for a drink after dinner. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and ordered the first round of wine and cocktails, but we were kicked out again at 8:10 p.m. Other guests wanted something to eat, and we had to leave. They call themselves a bar and kick out guests who don't eat in the evening. We've never experienced anything so outrageous. "It would be only natural not to block tables with drinks in the evening," were the words of the waiter. Never again. We're sitting two doors down now and are warmly welcomed there. They should think about it sometime.

Great restaurant with very pleasant staff. Always on your toes. The food is very tasty. Any requests or comments will be addressed quickly. The Faustus is recommended in terms of price and quality. However, due to the location and popularity status, you should also make reservations from locals.

It was very nice and the food was great.

We went here for a drink at the weekend and then again later for lunch. The location is idyllic, the drinks and food were delicious. The service is very attentive, but sometimes seems a bit rushed and strained. I observed the ladies and gentlemen for a while and they rarely smiled. Such a shame! I definitely recommend that the owner focus on this and talk to his staff. Otherwise everything was good & we would like to come back.

Wir hatten einen schönen Abend im Hof vom Faustus. Nach ca 20 Glühwein und 4 Bier musste meine Frau auf Toilette und dann wollten wir gehen. Eine Kellnerin rannte ihr raus bis in die Kälte hinterher und sagte, sie wäre „mehrmals“ auf der Toilette gewesen. Das war gelogen, denn sie war erst einmal. Ganz ehrlich liebes Faustus, habt ihr es so nötig Euren Gösten wegen 1€ hinterher zu rennen? Wir sitzen jeden Sommer bei Euch im Freien und jetzt musste wir so eine „nervige“ Angestellte kennenlernen….. das war uns sehr peinlich. Wir überlegen uns, in Zukunft wieder zu euch zu kommen.

We had a lovely evening in Faustus' courtyard. After about 20 mulled wine and 4 beers, my wife had to go to the toilet and then we wanted to leave. A waitress ran after her out into the cold and said she had been to the bathroom “several times.” That was a lie because she was first. Honestly, dear Faustus, do you feel the need to chase your gods for €1? We sit outdoors with you every summer and now we had to meet such an “annoying” employee... that was very embarrassing for us. We are considering coming back to you in the future. Once again for your information, if you serve drinks in your yard, you are obliged to provide a toilet. It's sad that you then run after your "guests"!

Wir wollten uns nach dem Weihnachtsmarktbesuch aufwärmen u sind hier gelandet. Super nettes Personal, das uns einen Platz an der Bar frei geschaufelt hat, obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten und nichts essen wollten. Sehr freundlicher Barkeeper, der schnell und kompetent leckere Cocktails gezaubert hat. Interessante Deko, einfach mal reinschauen und sich wohlfühlen

Hatten 1 h vorher reserviert. 1 x Braten mit Zwiebeln= gut , 1 x Gänsebrust, Klöße, Rotkraut= ganz gut , Soße aber viel zu fettig/ölig. 1 x Gänsekeule, Klöße, leider die gleiche Soße, Keule trocken. 1 x Ochsenbäckchen, Klöße, Rosenkohl =nicht gut , Fleisch viel zu lange gebraten mussten die. Hälfte zurück geben. Hatten das Personal angesprochen das die Bäckchen nicht zu genießen sind. Hat sich kurz dafür entschuldigt,ist aber nichts passiert. Müssten alles auch voll bezahlen und kein Wort mehr. Schade. Alles in allem das viele Geld nicht wert. Getränke auch teuer.

A lot of attention goes to the guests and the food. The food tastes excellent, there is a large selection. Everything was prepared very well and tastefully. It is absolutely a pleasure to visit this restaurant Faustus. A big compliment to the boss Ronny Scheil, who, together with his entire team, ensures the well-being of the guests in a very professional, considerate, friendly and accommodating manner!! The kitchen staff deserve respect and appreciation for the quality and taste of the food. Erfurt can be proud of the Faustus on the Weniger Markt. We also recommend it to everyone P. Essen und Service sehr gut. Leider sass am Nebentisch und wickelte ihre Geschäfte sehr lautstark ab. Auch sprach sie mit ihren Angestellten sehr laut und übertrieben bestimmend. Dies war uns sehr unangenehm. Und für eine Führungskraft ein no go. Dies war unser letzter Besuch.

Worth 5 stars!!! The atmosphere is simply great – we sat comfortably under the heaters and were able to enjoy the evening to the fullest. The staff? Super friendly, attentive and warm! Our dog was immediately provided with a water bowl - it's rare to find such hospitality. And the food… simply heavenly! The steak was grilled to perfection and every component was seasoned perfectly. Nice location right on the Krämerbrücke, lots of places outside, stylish ambience inside, prices reasonable. However, when asked, the waitress should know what the soup of the day is... Otherwise everything is OK.

A really nice evening at Faustus. A highlight of the evening was definitely the savage Asian man who recommended the “Faustus” schnitzel to us. His recommendation was a hit, the schnitzel topped with hearty ragout fin was crispy, tender and simply delicious! The Saxon accent caused a few laughs and brightened up the evening. The entire team is also very well-coordinated, fast service, attentive and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. A big compliment to the barman, whose drinks really impressed us - Haus Willi in particular is highly recommended! All in all, a thoroughly successful evening. I'd love to come back!
