JEN Erfurt Ramen Küche in Erfurt

First of all, our reservation was forgotten and there was no table available when we arrived. After we actually wanted to leave, we were able to organize a table after waiting at the counter. I was surprised in a negative way by the food: there was something to complain about across 4 different meals. Starting with the unappetizing, limp chicken in the “Teriyaki menu” to ramen in which the bowl is filled with the cheapest bean sprouts to unseasoned, cooked pork as a “topping”, the preparation and taste of which has nothing to do with an authentic ramen soup. For such little service and quality, the price is absolutely ridiculously overpriced. There are far better alternatives in Erfurt!

I've been to Jen Ramen Erfurt twice now and was absolutely thrilled on both visits. The atmosphere is very nice, the waiters are extremely friendly and attentive and the food is a dream. My favorites are the fried cauliflower and the vegan miso ramen. A highly recommended Japanese restaurant!

I sometimes wonder whether the people of Erfurt really appreciate having such a good ramen restaurant in their city. At least you can usually get a place without any problems 😁 You have to find this quality first in Berlin or Düsseldorf. If I had to criticize anything, it would only be that I don't think the prices of the vegan dishes are balanced compared to the meat dishes.

Our starter (wanton) was very tasty, but there was a bit too much bean sprouts in it, just like in the main course. We expected a little more from the main course (Naruro Ramen and Shoju Ramen). The taste was very monotonous and the toppings were all very cold, and the pork belly was unfortunately not crispy as described. Unfortunately we only went there for the ramen, but it was a bit of a disappointment. In addition, the service was poor... We ordered sake that never arrived. At the end when we paid we said we wouldn't pay for the sake because we didn't get any. We were then offered to get it, but we didn't want it anymore. It's a shame for a ramen kitchen...

We were here a year ago, everything was perfect and so we came back on our next visit to Erfurt - but now for the last time! The ambience has now changed to a “quickie lunch” type of “fast, quick”. There are also a lot more tables in the room and you can't get through anywhere (not even the waiters themselves). Despite reservations, we got a delivery table in the middle of the aisle. It was like being at the train station - everyone was pushing, jostling and saying “sorry” 😅. It's just too crowded! The outside door opened and closed regularly, so it was very cold inside (drafts right next to the door). There is a curtain, but it is not used. The waiters were trying hard, stressed and suffering from an “oh, I didn't see” disease: empty glasses, bowls, plates: people like to walk past them. For food: 2x shoyu ramen today. Taste average (broth) - meat ok. Otherwise almost only bean sprouts as “filling material”. I know other restaurants where the contents are more creative (and for almost €17 you can expect that for a SOUP). The matcha tiramisu is a matter of taste: we found it tasty, but also very creamy. Very sweet - but a reasonable amount, which was totally fine. We then waited about 15 minutes to pay and after telling them twice….. Charm lost, nothing special anymore. Not an insider tip...

Food was good and prices are okay. The service seemed overwhelmed and it was very tight in the restaurant.

The noodles taste very salty and not that tasty compared to other noodle shops. The waiter wasn't at work at all, the noodles and soup served for the first time were cold, the order was wrong, and the price was too expensive. Worse than before.

We've eaten here several times and it's always been wonderful. The ambience and the friendly service staff contribute to this 😊 small tip: eat on site rather than ordering as the ambience can contribute to the taste.

We have always enjoyed being guests here. The last 5 times the ramen has gone down a lot. The meat was cold, the broth watery. When I went to the toilet I “caught” the Arabic-looking cook eating out of the pot. The toilets are no longer clean, the glasses are yellow and the doors are dirty. The menus are sticky and smeared with grease on the outside. 😖😢 Oh man, I wish I never had to write that. I used to often travel to Jena specifically to enjoy your cuisine. Unfortunately, the pleasure I once felt deeply no longer draws me to Erfurt.

We were here for the first time today and the food was good and we were full. Unfortunately I can't give a 5 star rating because we had to leave the table immediately after paying to make room for the next guests. They came with rags and new menus, even though we still had drinks. One of us was still in the toilet so that when we came back we would be standing at a table with strangers. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all. I would have preferred to have my tip returned.

The ramen tasted good and I was full. The service is very friendly. The restaurant is modernly furnished. I liked the ambience.

The place is accessible from the city, fast service of the food and friendly staff. It’s nicer to make a reservation before going because mostly they’re full when you’re coming at dinner time.

Unfortunately, it's not a good ramen compared to everything you can get in Berlin. The miso ramen was oversalted and barely warm. The broth is very thick, probably due to the starch from the very thick homemade noodles.

We ate here as a group of 7 people. We all thought the food was just okay (blandly seasoned), the fact that we were hungry was definitely an advantage for the store.

Simply great! We had been in Erfurt for a while and discovered JEN by chance at lunchtime. We were pleasantly surprised, the food is super delicious! We were pleasantly surprised. The service is very friendly and the dining room is very comfortable. You can see the kitchen through a glass wall. Everything is clean. Kudos to everyone! We will definitely come here again.

A nice shop with a Japanese atmosphere. The food is great, the prices are fair and the offering is very extensive for a ramen store. Personally, I recommend the spicy ramen. The service is patient and friendly, all in all the shop is a perfect choice for a relaxing evening.

Jen has the best vegan ramen in Erfurt and super delicious gyoza. Unfortunately, the service has so far only been mediocre and has clouded the overall picture, and there is still some room for improvement in terms of price/performance

When I entered the store there was no waitress to be found. There was also a slip on all the tables. I assume to show that they are reserved but I don't know for sure because as I said there was no employee to be found. In addition, the location is too small or too crowded. You can't even properly pull the chairs away from the table to sit down because there's no space for them. As an individual you can only sit at the bar. However, there are too many seats there too. So be prepared to bump your elbows into the person sitting next to you. I left after standing around stupidly for 10 minutes. 🤷 I can't say anything about the food itself because I didn't eat anything because, as I said, there was no service. But according to the online menu, they use the wrong meat for chashu and the shoyu frame doesn't seem to contain fish or mushrooms. The 3 components of ramen are not even explained. (Broth, tare and topping) For a dedicated ramen restaurant, this is a really poor performance.

The food was absolutely delicious. The waitress was extremely nice and accommodating. Unreservedly recommended.

I can only recommend it, very tasty food, it was my first time in a restaurant like this and I have rarely eaten so well, so I give it a three 👍👍👍 high.

Unfortunately, the ramen here is really not good. My chicken meat was cold and the pork didn't taste particularly fresh either. The broth was good so far. The vegetarian version was really inedible, mushy noodles, the broth didn't really go well with the ramen, the vegetables in it were somehow out of place.

Unfortunately, service was the only good thing. Overpriced small portions that are anything but authentic.

Unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. The two of us had a starter, main course and a drink. The tables were unclean and it was very dark in the restaurant area even though it was 12 at noon. I had gyoza as a starter, which is maultaschen with cabbage and minced meat. My partner had teriyaki chicken. That was quite passable. The main courses, however, were quite disappointing. We both had extra marinated eggs. They are expensive (€3 for 1 egg) and not properly prepared. These eggs should be soft inside. Waxy. We both had hard-boiled eggs lightly marinated in soy sauce. The ramen wasn't anything special either. Although I enjoy eating ramen and other Japanese dishes, all in all this was very disappointing. Conclusion: For about €60, the two of us were only partially satisfied. The portions weren't particularly big either. I was very disappointed and will probably not visit this restaurant again.

The price of the drink charged was different (much more expensive) than what was on the drinks menu. When I complained the waitress said, 'What do they want!? This menu is a bit old.' I was speechless. I say that I would only pay the price what is on the menu. Frustrated, she asked me if she should go to the boss about this change. I was speechless again. After speaking to the chef, she grabbed the money on the table without saying a word and left. No change. I would never visit the store again.

Small, somewhat hidden Japanese restaurant. Very tasty ramen and various starters, all vegan too. Really great.

One miso ramen + egg, please! 😁 The taste was very tasty and the quantity was also sufficient. There was also something for the "sweet tooth", but the miso ramen blew me away more. A very interesting kitchen that I will stop by again.

The decor is nice but the ramen was way too oily so you could see the oil film on the surface. There was also not enough broth for us. Unfortunately not good for the price.

We were here for lunch. First an order was completely forgotten, then a drink didn't come and my spicy ramen was just bitter and unwaterable.

Wow. A Japanese restaurant in the middle of Erfurt. A tastefully decorated shop, super friendly people, delicious food. The ramen and gyozas are highly recommended. And for dessert, a fried tempura ice cream... really good. I can only recommend it, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Very authentic Japanese cuisine. Karage and ramen as they are found in Japan. Anyone who likes Japanese cuisine. It's exactly right here. Online ordering is also good quality if you don't have time to drive to the restaurant.

My takeaway experience was quite negative but... Really, really good ramen, sure for a small restaurant, some patience is required but it was well worth the wait. The staff is still learning German so please respect the learning curve 😉. Sorry no pictures this time

I ordered ramen. I reminded the waitress twice that the broth should not be mixed with the noodles. I had a long walk home and my noodles were soggy in the broth. How disappointing

Absolutely no recommendation, from my own experience. Tastes are different. Unfortunately, I only ate bad ramen at Jen's. Everything there was other than authentically Japanese. 1) Peanut sauce is not supposed to be with ramen and I had an excess amount of peanut sauce squeezed into ramen. The ramen only tastes like peanut sauce. The soup is completely thick. 2) the portion, both the noodle and the side dish/vegetables, were extremely small for the hefty price 3) poor service. A waitress barely speaks and understands German, brought the wrong drinks and was pushy when I hadn't finished eating yet.

Food was excellent I couldn't have done better. Quick and well prepared. I'd love to come back

This is ao bad if u do not eat u still have to do.Take care that they listen to you properly or you have to pay for it still, it happened on27th april 1655hrs.i hope the owner or the manager sees it.SHAME it was just 6 euros so someone who is ordering a cocktail for 8 euros and vorspeisen will not think about 6 euros but its about just how the person behaves, shameful i felt.

Great quality, super nice service, unfortunately the teramisu wasn't quite ok. Please don't use cheap butter cookies, biscottis were original and better.... 😇

If it's a little fuller, the service can be a little snags, but not that bad and understandable since there's only one service station. Unfortunately, the food was just okay and didn't knock you off your chair. Unfortunately, the karaage are nothing at all, as they consisted largely of just fat. Unfortunately they were served without Japanese mayonnaise, so no recommendation for the karaage. What should be mentioned positively, however, is the large number of vegetarian/vegan dishes

JEN Ramen was exactly what we were looking for that evening! A great restaurant with delicious food, great atmosphere and very friendly service. I was particularly impressed by the large vegan selection and the dessert rounded off the evening perfectly!

Nice and cosy ambience. Has 12 tables (4 per table) and a few seats bar-stool style. Been here couple of times and I am served almost immediately. Food is delicious and there are some variations of ramen that I haven't seen before, so I enjoyed experimenting. They have some different types of beers and teas and a sake or so. Definitely an option for me for Asian food in Erfurt.

Great store, but not for spontaneous visits, hence 1 star less. But highly recommended.

The food itself was good and something different. What wasn't so nice was that the waitress couldn't give any information about questions and said that you could leave it out...we didn't want to leave anything out, just ask what we didn't know. Price/performance is still good.

This was a great experience-three of us went for a drink and stayed to eat. Atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Food was gorgeous! As for service despite a delayed meal-was terrific!

I stopped by during a trip to Germany. This is a Japanese restaurant run by a Japanese person. The soy sauce ramen had a lot of ingredients and was heavily seasoned. This area seems to be popular with Germans. The matcha lemonade was a delicious lemonade. In Germany, meals consist of meat, bread, and potatoes, so it was nice to be able to eat Japanese food. They also have rice, fried chicken, edamame, and sake, so I'd like to order that next time I stop by. When I went there, there was a staff member who could speak Japanese, which I thought was amazing.

Das Essen sind Mega lecker und schön gedeckt. Vegan Spysi Ramen, Teriyaki, Karaage, Miso Ramen, Mixoba vegan sind zu empfehlen. Personal sind auch sehr nett und offen, insbesondere der Koch ist sehr professionell und freundlich

Ich fand den Besuch großartig! Der Service ist schnell und koordiniert und die Vorspeisen sind der Hammer 🫶🏼🥰 Die veganen Gyoza und der Tofu warm sind eine Geschmacksexplosion. Auch unsere Ramen waren unheimlich lecker. Ich empfehle jedem auch so ein leckeres Ei mit auf die Ramen zu bestellen🤓 Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und freuen uns auf das nächste mal :)

Best ramen in town. A bit pricy but good flavours

점심시간에 갔는데 사람들이 적당히 있어서 바로 앉아 주문했습니다. 일정이 있어서 빨리 먹고 가야하는 상황이라 점심메뉴가 있을거 같아 보았는데 처음 받은 메뉴판에는 점심메뉴판이 없었습니다 .주문 하고 30분즈음 지나서 일행 중 한명의 메뉴가 안된다는 것을 알았습니다. 그때 받은 메뉴판에 점심메뉴가 있었고 1시간반이 훨씬지나 음식이 나왔습니다.다른테이블은 기다리다 그냥 가기도 했습니다. 교자는 차가웠고 (해동이 제대로 안된거같습니다) 라면 두종류는 면의 양이 달랐습니다. 가츠돈은 너무 짰어요.친절하고 면과 라면국물은 훌륭합니다..단 너무 많이 기다려서 그 훌륭함이 돋보이지 않습니다. 점심 시간에 몇가지 점심메뉴로 회전률을 높인다면 훌륭한 식당이 될것 같습니다. (시간이 오래 걸리는 저녁 메뉴가 있는 메뉴판은 주지 말아야해요)2시간 가까이 기다려서 5분만에 먹고 나왔습니다. 편의점에서 즉석 라면 먹고 나온 느낌입니다.

Besser man bestellt vorher immer einen Tisch. Und das am besten telefonisch. Der Service ist bemüht und es kommt durch die hohe Anzahl der Gäste öfter zu Wartezeiten. Die Getränke sind Recht teuer. Preis Leistung ist trotzdem insgesamt gut. Das Ambiente ist schön, etwas dunkel. Mir gefällt es. Sehr zu empfehlen sind tantan Ramen, Mittagsangebote, dim sum, gyoza 🥟 und das Eis ❤️ Man kann durch ein großes Fenster direkt in die Küche schauen und es sieht sehr sauber und ordentlich aus. Immer ein Besuch wert. 😉 Obwohl es für nicht ortskundige etwas versteckt am Anger liegt.

Die vor der Tür lagernde Sippschaft macht das Ambiente etwas schwierig. Schönes Restaurant, Service war bemüht. Küche sehr gut.

Sehr schöner kleiner Laden. Coole Einrichtungen. Das essen hier ist leckeres Japanisches Essen. Die Qualität der Speisen ist durchgängig sehr gut. Gehen gerne hier her.

Sehr leckere Vorspeisen, sehr guter Ramen (insb. TanTan). Freundliches Personal und schicke Einrichtung.

Das erste mal dort und ich bin begeistert. Das essen 1+ mit Sternchen :), der Service 1+ mit Sternchen und das Ambiente 1+ mit Sternchen. Definitiv werde ich es wieder besuchen. Lohnt sich besonders war es das erste Ramen in meinem Leben. Und die Jen Soße zu dem Teriyaki Hähnchen ein traum für den Gaumen.

Nach einer Empfehlung haben wir uns hier mal etwas zu Essen bestellt. Wir sind komplett zurfrieden. Das Essen war lecker und ist auch heiß bei uns angekommen. Es war in den Transportdosen gut trapiert, klar, dass da auch mal was verrutscht. Absolt keine Beanstandungen. Als nächstes essen wir mal im Restaurant.

Wir waren erstmals im Sommer hier und sehr zufrieden - Grund genug also für eine Wiederholung am Ende eines langen Arbeitstages. Eintreffen im Restaurant um 20.30 Uhr. Laut ausgehängter Öffnungszeiten letzte Bestellung um 21.00, zwei Tische frei - also ausreichend Zeit und Platz für uns zwei. Nach nur etwa zehn Minuten Wartezeit unterbricht eine mit dem Reinigen frei werdender Tische befasste Kellnerin ihre segensreiche Tätigkeit, bringt uns die Karte und verschwindet wortlos wieder. Nach nur weiteren etwa fünf Minuten kömmt dann eine auch des Sprechens kundige junge Dame und verkündet mit dem Ausdruck äußersten, aber geheuchelten Bedauerns, die Küche habe „leider“ schon seit 20.30 Uhr geschlossen. Meine Frage, welche Bestellungen denn dann bis 21.00 Uhr würden aufgenommen werden können, blieb indes unbeantwortet. Die Begeisterung vom ersten Besuch jedenfalls war rasch dahin. Nächstes Mal werden wir wohl die paar Kilometer nach Jena weiterfahren, wenn wir Lust auf Nudelsuppe haben. Da gibt’s ja auch ein Jen-Ramen…

Amazing food, and an amazing experience. The food is a true revelation, even though I have not been to Japan and not much to compare it to. The matcha deserts are also great. Whenever we even come close to Erfurt we try and take the detour just for JEN Ramen. If you have the option take this one and not the one in Jena - there is much more room and a nicer atmosphere in Erfurt.

Wir haben einen sehr schönen Abend hier verbracht, Vorspeisen und Ramen waren ausgezeichnet ! Die Besonderheit der Gerichte wurde uns liebevoll erklärt und hat uns die japanische Küche nähergebracht. Authentisch und sehr empfehlenswert!

An einem Sonntag Abend noch einen Platz für zwei bekommen (reservieren hilft 😅). Frischer und sehr guter Tantan Ramen und toller Mix-Soba, wir kommen gerne wieder! Eine Empfehlung wert! Ein Lob auch an die nette und kompetente Bedienung 😊👍.
