That was lovely. We ate there as a couple and were very satisfied. The ambiance is quite pleasant, the tables are clean, and overall it's very cozy. We particularly appreciated the music; the radio station is Italian, which is always a welcome feature in an Italian restaurant. I also liked the open kitchen. That's always a good sign, as there's nothing to hide. We were served immediately upon entering the restaurant, and the waiter was very friendly. The menu is quite typical and should offer something for everyone. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and tagliatelle "Piazzetta." The carbonara was well-made, relatively mild in flavor, which I quite liked. The portion was adequate, though they could have served just a tiny bit more. It was certainly enough to fill you up, though. The tagliatelle was also good; the sauce was delicious, and the individual components were clearly discernible. We were a group of 11, had reserved a table, and were able to enter the restaurant 20 minutes early. The service staff was attentive and always available, even though we were seated upstairs. We wholeheartedly recommend a visit.

The food isn't bad, just average, but the service leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you're a foreigner and don't speak much German. We weren't very hungry, so we ordered a pizza for two, and the waitress's discomfort was noticeable. When it came time to pay, we were told that only €35 was allowed with a card; I had to find an ATM, so it would have saved us all time and a bad time if we had been informed from the start.

This was my second time here. My pizza was delicious, and so were the others. This time I had pasta with salmon (a generous amount). Also delicious! Parking nearby is a bit tricky. You'll have to plan on a bit of walking—which is part of the experience in Erfurt. If you sit outside in good weather, you can simply watch the hustle and bustle of the square.

Told the waitress, that I will go take money from the bank and come back, because the order should be 35£ or more to pay with card and when I came back she kept asking questions about the bank to make sure I went there. As if I'm not gonna pay or something. Not a good place if you're a foreigner i guess

Absolutely outdated, just like the decor, which is showing its age. Although the table was set, crumbs and food leftovers from the previous guests were still on the tablecloth. The pizza was completely burnt, well over halfway around the edges. The staff's inquiries about whether everything was okay seemed more businesslike than good service.

The food hasn't improved; in fact, the quality fluctuates from time to time. After today's visit and all these years, I won't be visiting this restaurant again.

I was in Erfurt alone on business. I ordered calamari alla griglia and a Pinot Grigio at this restaurant. The wine was too warm. I ordered ice cubes, which arrived promptly. The calamari must have gone straight from the freezer into the pan. They looked very anemic, barely seasoned, and had a hard, rubbery consistency. When I mentioned this to the waiter while paying, he just shrugged and said he'd pass it on to the kitchen. No apology, no compensation at all. I can't recommend La Piazzetta at all.

I've rarely had such a bad experience. The service was unfriendly and uninspired from the start. When it suddenly started to rain, we were simply left sitting in the rain – without any kind of courtesy. Our request to sit under one of the free umbrellas or inside was met with a downright dismissive response – even though there were still plenty of seats available inside and at least half the tables outside were empty. We actually ended up sitting at our tables with umbrellas, soaking wet, until we could at least finish our drinks. No help was offered, no understanding shown – just ignorance and bad humor. That's not how you treat guests. Definitely the first and last time for us!

Can you recommend this place? No. Unfortunately, the pizza arrived almost cold, although some of the crust was burnt. Arugula, unfortunately, wasn't washed 😕 Medallions with chanterelle mushrooms and rosemary potatoes. No rosemary to be found. The medallions were inexplicably overcooked, certainly not pan-fried. I suspect they were frozen, just like the vegetables. Service could be improved. No questions asked, none. And in such a beautiful place. Wasted potential.

Today we visited this restaurant for the first time in a long time and I have to say that the quality and service have deteriorated considerably. Unfortunately the quality of the food was no longer what we were used to. The service also has a lot of room for improvement. The staff were rather bored and annoyed and the menu fell apart when opened and you could then put it back together again. When I asked if the carbonara was made according to the original recipe without cream, the waiter confirmed that it was. The carbonara was brought to the table and lo and behold, a pasta dish drowning in a cream sauce. The pasta dish with fillet tips was also outrageous. A homeopathic amount of meat but a high price for it. This leaves a lot of room for improvement and was not a top performance.

Einige der Bewertungen hier können wir nicht nachvollziehen. Wir waren zum Mittagessen als Familie dort und hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auf unser kleines Kind wurde sehr nett eingegangen , auch beim Anrichten der Speisen (halbe Portion auf einem eigenen Teller) und dem Getränk (mit Strohhalm). Die Nudeln (Bolognese und carbonara) waren sehr lecker und eine gute Portion. Die Pizza war super belegt und der Teig sehr lecker ! Wir waren leider nur zu Besuch in Erfurt, würden aber jederzeit wieder dort hingehen und es weiterempfehlen.

Caution with gluten-free pizza... We had emphasized in advance that my wife suffers from celiac disease and it is almost vital that the pizza dough be gluten-free. (According to the website, this can be arranged upon request.) Well... Apparently, the bases were swapped during preparation. The extractor hood doesn't work properly, and there's a strong smell coming from the kitchen, even on the second floor. The prices are too high for such mediocre food and small portions.

The ambiance is rustic and cozy, and the service is very friendly and fast. For me, La Piazzetta is the first address in Erfurt's old town for Italian cuisine, and I highly recommend a visit. Since the restaurant is apparently very popular, reservations are recommended, even during the week. As an individual, I was lucky enough to get a table every time, even without a reservation. Thanks again to the entire team for their hospitality. I felt very comfortable, and the food was always delicious.

It was a little quieter there, which was very convenient for us. The decor is a bit older, but I think that adds to the charm of the restaurant. The waitresses were extremely nice and the food was served to us quickly. The portions are sufficiently large. The food was very tasty, authentically Italian but at the same time nothing particularly special.

Depending on who it is, the service sometimes needs improvement. Unfortunately, some waiters are arrogant and bold, while others (most, especially the ladies) are attentive and friendly.

Es gab eine super leckere Pizza, dünner knuspriger Teig, gut belegt, sehr heiß serviert....halt so wie sie sein soll. Meine Frau war mit ihrer Lasagne ebenfalls sehr zufrieden , die wurde ebenfalls super heiß serviert. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam ......wir fühlten uns superwohl. Resümee des Abends: Wir freuen uns aufs nächste Mal !

Wir waren zu viert zum Mittagessen im Restaurant. Bestellt haben wir 4 Getränke. Etwas später dann eine Vorspeise, 2 Pizzen, 1 Salat und 1 mal Gnocchi al Forno. Leider bekam ich Gnocchi mit Gorgonzola Spinatsauce. Nach Reklamation wurde ich darauf hingewiesen, dass doch meine Finger auf dem gebrachten Gericht geruht / gezeigt hätten als ich bestellte. Zum Verständnis, ich hielt die Karte einfach in der Hand und bestellte wie üblich in dem ich sagte was ich gern essen möchte. Das Gericht wurde dann ausgetauscht. Meine Gnocchi waren fade und die Pizza Napoi war nichts besonderes. Die Wassergläser waren schon sehr alt und verschlissen / zerkratzt, der Pastateller angeschlagen. Empfehlen kann ich den Espresso. Zahlung geht hier nur Bar!!! Und das in der heutigen Zeit. Einfach ein sehr mittelklassiges Restaurant. Nichts besonderes was ich empfehlen würde.

Four of us went to the restaurant for lunch. We ordered 4 drinks. A little later a starter, 2 pizzas, 1 salad and 1 gnocchi al forno. Unfortunately I got gnocchi with gorgonzola spinach sauce. After complaining, I was informed that my fingers had been resting/pointing on the dish that was brought when I ordered. To understand, I simply held the card in my hand and ordered as usual by saying what I would like to eat. The dish was then exchanged. My gnocchi was bland and the pizza Napoi was nothing special. The water glasses were very old and worn/scratched, the pasta plate was chipped. I can recommend the espresso. Payment is only possible in cash!!! And that in this day and age. Just a very middle class restaurant. Nothing special that I would recommend.

Plus everything was swimming in oil. Summer pizza: cheese, pesto sauce, tasteless tomatoes and a burrata that was past its best before date. The whole thing is way too greasy. Since I didn't want to leave a tip, the change couldn't be given out.

We had dinner here yesterday at the start of the chanterelle season. In many restaurants in the area there were chanterelles on displays in front of the shop and we also saw a lot of fresh chanterelle dishes as we walked past. So my partner wanted pasta with puff mushrooms and I wanted a pizza, so we ended up at La Piazzetta. The bruschetta in front wasn't bad, but it was a huge mountain of tomato salad on 2 pieces of normal baguette. The amount of salad would have easily been enough for 5-6 pieces. For 5.90 € 2 pieces of baguette...if there is so much tomato salad on it anyway, you can certainly pack 3 more pieces of baguette on it. The pizza wasn't bad, although nothing special. At an Italian restaurant, ham and salami actually belong on the pizza after it's been oven, but that's just German pizza. Not much better than kebab but not much more expensive than kebab either. The tagliatelle itself wasn't a hit either. He's an Italian but given the size of the restaurant I understand that you can't make the pasta yourself, but that doesn't mean it's anything special. The problem was that the chanterelle tagliatelle was, on the one hand, also made with porcini mushrooms and mushrooms (it says so on the menu, so ok, but... why) and, on the other hand, and far worse. They weren't fresh chanterelles but pickled ones, which tasted really disgusting. Not just tough and not fresh (even though it is a seasonal dish) but tasted really bad. We sorted them out completely and only ate the pasta with the remaining mushrooms. --> And paid 5 € more for it, 18.50 € for the "seasonal dish", 13.50 € for the normal mushroom tagliatelle that is always available (with porcini mushrooms) So we were dissatisfied with the food yesterday. On the one hand the location is great, but on the other hand the tables are very narrow in order to accommodate as many customers as possible and you feel a bit like you are on a full bus. However, the service is good; for the number of people, the waiters are still quick and attentive. The food also came quite quickly, but it was just nothing. We only drank water and beer, so I can't say anything about cocktails or anything like that.

We had Tagliatelle Mare e Monti and a calzone. Both averagely good but nothing special, ok price wise. I find a 0.4L beer for €4.90 almost cheeky, both the price and the 0.4L don't work at all. We actually sat quite well, unfortunately there was a lot of traffic right in front of the terrace. The service was very nice and quick but very!! forgetful…. First he forgot what we ordered, then he forgot the parmesan, he also forgot that we ordered it again, and last but not least he brought the receipt and forgot to bring the machine for paying with a card. Oops, we forgot the tip...

One of the best Italian restaurants. We feel comfortable every time and it's almost a tradition to visit Ristorante La Piazzetta as soon as we're in Erfurt. The food tastes fantastic and the conditions are very friendly. Thank you very much, please keep it up!
