An absolute recommendation! 🫶🏻 Everything was just fantastic! From the greeting, placement, the first conversations with the head waiter and service staff, the great food, perfect recommendations from the kitchen and the bar, to the end of the evening with a loving greeting and a last little treat (homemade chocolate curds). It was really special and we hope for many successful years for the team and stay true to you and the concept! Personal recommendation: switch to adults only. No one would be offended by it, but it would fit the ambience and concept even more and ensure peace of mind for the staff and other guests if no small children were allowed. Families can eat in the buffet restaurant next door.

A hotelier and restaurateur who certainly doesn't rest on his laurels or the sporting successes associated with it. The hotel stands out from the competition in Oberwiesenthal. Location is phenomenal. The rooms and the restaurant are of high quality and thoughtfully furnished… The menu has a great concept that is intended to evoke the sporting past. The quality of the dishes is exceptional and very tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the exceptional friendliness of the staff. Despite the guest room being fully booked, they had everything under control and radiated such a pleasant calm that this was also passed on to the guests... our afternoon was simply wonderful here. Would like to give 6 *****!

Absolutely delicious homemade home cooking with a good price-performance ratio. I'll definitely come back with my motorbike in the summer. Really, really delicious!

We were able to celebrate our Eismann (NL Chemnitz) Christmas party here (December 14th). We received a warm welcome as soon as we checked in. We celebrated in the “Alte Schmiede”, a side room of the guesthouse with an oven and fireplace and rustically furnished. Wonderfully prepared, excellent, delicious food, which was also prepared on site. Super friendly service with a personal character. In short, one of the most beautiful celebrations we had. Thanks to Uta, Peter and Franzi Riedel and our little “stoker” Matthse. Absolutely recommended, not only the “Alte Schmiede” but also the entire house because the rooms are also great. We were there for dinner in February 2024, 2 families with a total of 4 children. Despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy, the service was very patient and courteous. We also had a very active and loud child with us, but this was not negatively commented on or judged, but we felt very comfortable there. The food was excellent - Bohemian cuisine - of course you have to wait a bit when you have such large food orders, but as far as I remember it was all within tolerable times. All in all it was a very pleasant evening, although it must be emphasized again that the restaurant was really full.

Unfortunately, I can only agree with the negative reviews. If we had read these in advance, we would have saved ourselves trouble. Price-performance is absolutely not suitable. Meat in the roulade was delicious, red cabbage tasted very good. Ox cheeks tender and tasty. Temperature and side dishes were a problem. Drinks and dessert were nothing to complain about. I don't want to repeat everything here either, because it's all already written. I can only mention that we spoke to the waitress about these problems that same evening and also reported this to reception on the day of departure. We can only say one thing here, if there is no change we will not visit this restaurant again.

This sleeping accommodation is well and centrally located. BUT, I think, the last renovation was paid for with East German marks and apparently there was a big shortage of craftsmen in the plumbing sector at that time. The worst thing was the cigarette smoke, which spread from the party room on the ground floor throughout the house and into the room through the doors that were very difficult to close. Really a shame!

Schlechter Service, am Besten nicht hingehen. Die sprechen weder deutsch noch sind die freundlich. Katastrophal. Ich bin weltweit viel gereist aber das habe ich noch nicht erlebt.
