Sehr freundliches Personal. Essen typisch tschechische Küche, sehr schmackhaft.

Super leckeres Essen. Den Tipp mit der Knoblauchsuppe kann ich nur zustimmen. Und keiner braucht Angst zu haben nicht statt zu werden :-) Das Essen kommt nach kurzer Zeit. Hab absolut nix auszusetzen.

Lecker Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienung

Wir hatten hier an unserem ersten Abend kurzfristig reserviert und trotz großem Ansturm wurde das noch möglich gemacht. Ambiente und Einrichtung sind passend zur Speisekarte, urig, herzhaft, deftig. Wir sind satt geworden und haben uns über die freundliche Bedienung gefreut. Zu zweit haben wir 60 Euro mit Getränk bezahlt.

Essen ist solide. Die Einrichtung für mich persönlich etwas kalt und nicht immer stimmig. Gute Auswahl an Gerichten. Guter Service.

Gut bürgerliches Essen zu akzeptaablen Preisen.

Ich kann die Guten Bewertungen leider nicht teilen, wir hatten gestern Mittag leider kein glück mit unserem Essen. Es war alles nur lauwarm, die Fleischstücke waren viel zu groß geschnitten, die Soße war eine dicke Masse und unter zweierlei Knödel hatte ich mir etwas vorgestellt..... die pommes zu dem schnitzel waren nicht gut fritiertiert und der Gurkensalat total wässrig. Alles nen bissl fade.... für die aktuellen Preise(20-23 € pro Gericht)fand ich es echt schade und wir waren nicht zufrieden. Der Service und das Ambiente war ok. Was ich absolut nicht ok finde ist dreckige Tischwäsche, direkt nach Öffnung des Restaurants und die Angestellten sitzen zusammen und quatschen.... Macht keinen guten Eindruck und sollte einfach nicht passieren ☹️☹️☹️. Das Ambiente ist schön, es ist urig und das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Es ist immer sehr schön im Karl lV hier im schönen O-Thal. Das Essen ist spitze und der Service ist sehr gut. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich. Das Essen ist lecker und bietet ein sehr gutes Preis/ Leistungs Verhältnis. Wir fühlen uns hier als willkommene Gäste und möchten es sehr empfehlen.

Wir waren letztes Jahr im Sommer zum ersten Mal hier, es hat uns so gut geschmeckt das wir in einer Woche 3 mal hier waren. Heute waren wir wieder hier, Essen großartig, Ambiente super. Wir hatten den selben Kellner wie letztes Jahr, sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen wieder.

Schneller Service und sehr leckere Gerichte mit böhmischen Knödeln!

Essen okay. Pommes mit Käse ist nur trocken. Da fehlt definitiv ein Salat und Preiselbeeren. Alles in allem recht teuer. Sehr gestresste Kellner. Wir hatten an beiden Abenden einen der Probleme mit allen und sich selbst hatte

Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Das Essen war tadellos, einfach köstlich. Insgesamt eine sehr ruhige und gemütliche Atmosphäre.

Das Essen hat uns teillweise nicht geschmeckt, aber sie Rippchen sind sehr zu empfehlen. Die Kartoffeln und der Kartoffelstampf waren geschmacklos und es hat so geschmeckt, als würden die Kartoffeln seit mehreren Stunden im Wasser baden. Am zweiten Tag gab es nur noch für eine Person Rippchen... 20min später konnte der Nebentisch aber wieder welche bestellen, das war sus. Ambiente war sehr gut. Beim Service hatten wir das Gefühl wir müssen fast diskutieren, ob wir statt dem Kartoffeldilemma Pommes bekommen, aber sei es drum, wir haben es bekommen. Preisniveau schon gehoben für die Menge an Essen, die man bekommt.

Immer wieder super lecker. Reservieren ist schon fast Pflicht. Man bekommt andernfalls nur mit Warten noch einen Platz.

Gerne hätte ich mich den vielen positiven Bewertungen angeschlossen, aber leider ist dieses Lokal nur unterer Durchschnitt. Mein Wildgulasch (22,90 Euro) war so was von neutral im Geschmack, dass man zu Salz und Pfeffer greifen musste, um wenigstens etwas Geschmack einzubringen. Dazu muss man auch wissen, dass wenn man beispielsweise Rotkohl als Beilage haben möchte, noch einmal 3,50 Euro dazu legen muss. Der Salat mit Schafskäse ist auch wirklich nur die einfachste Version an Salat die man anbieten kann. Das Lokal an sich erinnert eher an ein großes Wohnzimmer mit zu vielen Tischen. Der Service war soweit okay. Im Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis bin ich hier enttäuscht. Viel Luft nach oben.

Direkt als wir ankamen wurde unserem Kind etwas zum Malen angeboten. Das Essen ist ebenfalls sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Personal: Herzlich Essen: top Räume: sehr gepflegt Fazit: absolute Empfehlung 😊

Wir haben das Restaurant schnell wieder verlassen. Ich habe es noch nie erlebt, dass ich mich als Gast so unerwünscht gefühlt habe. Ich hoffe das Essen kompensiert für den Service

Der Service war furchtbar. Als sie hörten, dass wir kein Englisch sprechen, änderte sich ihr Tonfall sofort. Sie griffen uns fast an, nur weil wir bestellt hatten (zwei Suppen, ein Hauptgericht und Getränke). Pommes konnten wir nicht bestellen, da sie auf der Kinderkarte standen und wir keine Kinder sind. Bezahlt werden konnte nur bar, wahrscheinlich um Steuern zu sparen. Die Kellnerin gab uns kein Wechselgeld, und wir hatten keine Lust, darüber zu diskutieren, da sie sowieso kein Englisch verstanden hätte. Ich kann das Restaurant nicht empfehlen; man kauft sich lieber ein Croissant im Supermarkt.

Mega leckere Knoblauchsuppe. Auch die Knödel mit Pilzen super lecker. Alles selbstgekocht wie hausgemacht. Sehr nette Bedienung.

Die Toilette roch sehr unangenehm. Und es gab kein warmes Wasser. Das Essen war in Ordnung.

Gute tschechische Küche in Oberwiesenthal. Alles ist super, nur die Zahlung mit Karte ist nicht möglich, das ist der einzige Nachteil.

Sehr nettes Personal, köstliches Essen

Wir hatten Hackbraten Jäger art, schnitzel und Putenschnitzel. Das schnitzel war dick und lecker, der Kartoffelbrei auch. Der Hackbraten hat nach nichts geschmeckt, wirklich lasch und ziemlich enttäuschend. Der gurkensalat war aus und es gab Tomatensalat dazu, das war auch mau. Das spezialbier 0.4 einer tschechischen brauerei hatte einen metallischen abgang und ist nicht zu empfehlen. Insgesamt war alles geschmacklich eher durchschnittlich. Die Atmosphäre ist ein bisschen kantinenmäßig, eine große halle, man hört 5 Gespräche gleichzeitig. Service war schnell und freundlich. Insgesamt war es ok, 4/5.

Klassisch böhmisch, lecker und authentisch

Wer die Tscheche Küche liebt ist hier genau richtig aufgehoben. Das Essen war super lecker.

Ganz tolles traditionelles Lokal mit deutschen und böhmischen Speisen.

Essen war sehr lecker, das Fleisch war perfekt auf den Punkt zubereitet und super abgeschmeckt. Es ist ein Restaurant für diejenigen die ein deftigen essen in rustikalen Ambiente suchen. Ein Ausflug nach Oberwiesenthal ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert. Da man viele Möglichkeiten hat die groß und klein gefallen.

Wir waren auf Herrentour mit 6 Personen in Oberwiesenthal, sind hier dreimal eingekehrt. Das Essen war klasse , sehr gute böhmische Küche,der Service und war sehr aufmerksam und sehr gesprächig und zuvorkommend.

Today was our first visit to the restaurant. The food was very good. The garlic soup was superb, and the venison goulash and duck leg were also very good. The service was always friendly and gave good advice. It was worth it, and we'll be back.

Went there for dinner. Very good restaurant, friendly service, and the food was delicious. The pork knuckle was really good, crispy crust, and the meat fell off the bone. The sauerkraut was Bohemian cabbage, so a bit sweet...definitely worth it. The meatloaf with vegetable sauce was also good, but the sweetness of the sauce took a bit of getting used to. When I asked, I was told that's typical of Bohemian cuisine. The portions are generous, a challenge for average eaters. So definitely go there.

Today we spontaneously stopped by for dinner. There were four of us. The staff was very friendly, and the dining room was also very inviting. The food arrived very quickly and looked good. But the best part was that it tasted delicious. We highly recommend it.

We had the great pleasure of spending our team outing at this restaurant, and I can only say it was outstanding from start to finish. A particular highlight was the warm, personal service provided by the manager throughout the entire evening, as well as her team. It was a truly wonderful evening! Delicious food, very friendly service, and a great atmosphere. The portions were more than generous, and you'll definitely be satisfied! The venison goulash cost €19.90, and the veal schnitzel cost €20.90. We thought it was great value for money! 😋

Down-to-earth, very tasty Bohemian cuisine with delicious Czech beer on tap. The goulash was wonderfully prepared; kudos to the chef. The waitress was also always attentive and very courteous. The prices may seem a bit high at first, but the portions are generous, even for adults. The location is central, and the opening hours are good for this otherwise sleepy place (until 10 p.m., making it busy even in the evenings).

A cozy, traditionally furnished restaurant located directly on the market square in Oberwiesenthal. Always friendly and competent service. Traditional Bohemian-Ore Mountain cuisine with fresh, select ingredients. Easily accessible even in winter, and in summer, a beer garden directly on the market invites you to linger.

Good Bohemian cuisine and a lovely restaurant. The service was good, but could have been a bit friendlier :-). We both had the duck leg, which was very tasty. Good value for money.

The Karel IV restaurant impressed us during our visit with a very pleasant atmosphere and a tastefully decorated interior. You immediately feel comfortable. The service was also friendly and courteous, if a little reserved - but always attentive. The food was very good: typical Bohemian cuisine, freshly prepared and really tasty. The selection was appealing, the portions were reasonable, and you could tell that the cooking here was done with care. Overall, we had a very nice evening and a very good impression of the restaurant. The only reason we deducted a small point is because “excellent” means a little bit more to us – especially in this price range. Nevertheless: absolutely recommended for everyone who appreciates good food in a well-kept atmosphere.

We recently had a very entertaining lunch at Karel IV. We had a lot of fun with the waiter bridging the language gap between us. My impression is that this place has a typical lunch menu for this region of Germany, which we really enjoyed. The portions are generous. The prices were a bit higher than I expected.

Delicious Czech cuisine and attentive service. One point deducted for the seasonal salad. It was just raw vegetable salad and too expensive for my taste at €9. The rest of the dishes were very tasty, especially the homemade mashed potatoes.

First of all, I have never given a review but here you just have to do it! Help. Bottomless impudence! Waitress unfriendly from the start, you felt forced to take an appetizer. Then we waited over an hour for the food, the expectation was very high for a schnitzel for €20.90!!!???? Generally all the dishes that were ordered were over €20, but what do you get? A cucumber salad soaked in water, unusually sweet, the schnitzel without sauce or something similar, instead 4 small piles of mashed potatoes, which could have been saved, the duck we ordered wasn't crispy at all or tasty in any way, the red cabbage and the sauerkraut, I really can't think of anything else, I've never eaten anything so sour in my life. The duck sauce didn't even taste like duck, and was served alongside the ribs, just salted pork. If the meal had cost 10€ I would have said “Ok”, but over 20€ for this nonsense?????! At the end, with a bill of over €120, there was only a €1 tip, and the aforementioned waitress came up with the idea of ​​throwing the €1 back with a disparaging look. INCREDIBLE!

Pure hospitality: The main room was full, so the next room was quickly opened to us. On top of that, the Kassler dumplings were super tasty. Nice team, great cuisine and, if necessary, card payment. There's nothing to complain about here, absolute recommendation.

The Karel IV restaurant is a real insider tip for lovers of Bohemian cuisine! As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the cozy and inviting atmosphere, which perfectly matches the charm of traditional Czech cuisine. I had the pleasure of trying the dumplings filled with Kassler - an absolute highlight! The dumplings were wonderfully fluffy and perfectly prepared, while the Kassler was tender and aromatic. There was also a wonderfully balanced sauce that rounded off the dish. Every bite was a pleasure and impressively underlined the authenticity of Bohemian cuisine. The service was also excellent – ​​friendly, attentive and always striving to offer guests an all-round successful experience. The menu offers a wide selection of other traditional dishes, so there is something for every taste. All in all, I can warmly recommend the Karel IV restaurant. If you want to experience authentic Bohemian cuisine in a charming ambience, this is the right place for you! I'll definitely come back.

We were there for dinner in February 2024, 2 families with a total of 4 children. Despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy, the service was very patient and courteous. We also had a very active and loud child with us, but this was not negatively commented on or judged, but we felt very comfortable there. The food was excellent - Bohemian cuisine - of course you have to wait a bit when you have such large food orders, but as far as I remember it was all within tolerable times. All in all it was a very pleasant evening, although it must be emphasized again that the restaurant was really full.

Good food (venison goulash with dumplings, yeast dumplings, schnitzel with potato salad), plus Pilsener Urquell. That was a good fit.

Dear Karel IV team, 11 of us were with you yesterday with friends and it was outstanding. The food was super tasty and, above all, from the right menu and not a slimmed-down menu in 2023. Leider sind wir nicht in die Gaststätte gekommen, mit Hund wurden wir wie Aussetzige behandelt. Welch ein Glück das man im Herberger mit einem gut erzogenem Hund jederzeit Zutritt bekommt. Ich werde diese Gaststätte auch ohne Hund nicht mehr betreten.

We stopped by Karel IV looking for a delicious dinner with dumplings or dumplings. Nice welcome in a cozy atmosphere. Looking at the menu it quickly became clear... we've come to the right place ✅ Ordered two Paulaner, game goulash, two types of dumplings, duck leg with two types of cabbage and dumplings. It was simply delicious 😋 Duck leg very tender and the skin really crispy, game goulash tasty and the dumplings? A dream👍

Very chic dining restaurant. When the restaurant is full, it becomes very crowded and noisy. The service is very attentive and knowledgeable. The dishes are very tasty.

The restaurant is located on the market square in Oberwiesenthal. Cozy and rustic. Czech and German dishes, very good selection, generous portions, very tasty, prices are completely reasonable for the quantity. There are also vegetarian dishes and there is also something for children. The service was great and we felt very comfortable. Reservation required on weekends.

We feast our way through the cards all over Germany. As a game lover, I would of course also like to try the same somewhere else, today in Karel. It looked a bit lost in the sauce but it was excellent, very well seasoned. The portion is XXL and tastes good, the game fell apart under the fork and was absolutely great. I also ordered a cucumber salad, which was also absolutely delicious. Conclusion: Price performance is great, recommended. My daughter had turkey schnitzel, and that was absolutely great too. Everything fine, to the point and delicious.

We went to the restaurant for dinner this weekend. Despite the fact that they were having a family celebration and we hadn't booked in advance, we got 2 seats. Very nice staff. The food is really great, large portions will fill everyone up. We felt very comfortable. Further recommended

We have been in Oberwiesenthal once a year for 21 years, previously in the winter with the children and often as self-caterers, but now in a group that likes to go out to eat every now and then. When we see the many guests every day through the town, the forests, on the Fichtelberg... Oberwiesenthal can count itself really lucky to be able to welcome so many holidaymakers. It's just a shame that in many of the few places to stop for refreshments there is zero warmth and joy towards the guests... BUT!!!! Go to Karel IV!!! An immediate feeling of welcome, a friendly, even mischievous face, a please and thank you and excellent food - we say that's how it should be!!! We have been there many times and are always extremely satisfied! Thank you dear Karel IV team and keep it up!! We definitely recommend you!!! P.S. It wasn't necessary, but it was a really great gesture... a round of schnapps "on the house" was carried out onto the street - just wonderful :)))
