We went there for dinner with friends after a very long time.
I've known the place for decades and avoided it for a long time, but now I decided to give it another try.
It's an average restaurant.
The price/performance ratio is in line with today's market.
The portions are modest...even as a woman and a normal eater, I wasn't full.
Average quality.
Average service.
Fake southern friendliness... overall not authentic.
It was worth a try... nothing more.
Food is always good. Nice atmosphere in the yard. In May 2025 the food is still good. However, charging 5 euros for a small bowl of pure noodles for a 1-year-old child is outrageous. Therefore now points deducted.
Were there for breakfast. There was a good selection of cheese, cold cuts and also vegetarian and vegan alternatives, which surprised Mixh. All in all it was okay to good. The spark just doesn't fly for me in the store.
I've known 3Eck since the beginning and have always been impressed by its good value for money. Unfortunately, I'm now somewhat disappointed with 3Eck in this regard. Prices have risen significantly here, as elsewhere. This in itself isn't surprising, as this trend affects the entire restaurant industry. But neither the quality nor the portions match up. The pizza is good, but priced at the level of good Italian restaurants. The wraps are recommendable, but too expensive for the amount. I can't recommend the burgers at all, as they're a grilled, overcooked industrial patty in a discount bun, and everything is carelessly put together. Others can do much better, and sometimes even cheaper than the almost €18 price tag!
On the plus side, the service is still fast and friendly. In good weather, it's also perfect to sit outside and enjoy the "show-off traffic" driving by :-)
The food—especially the kimchi and tempura—is sooo delicious. The portions are just right, the drinks are super tasty, and the people at the restaurant are so warm and friendly. I'm really looking forward to trying something new next time! 💛💛💛
Place and ambience: really good! It's great to sit there indoors or outdoors, there's a nice pedestrian only zone there so it's not loud with cars.
Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.
Service: the place was half full of guests, there were around 4 servers. I sat outside. I had to wait forever to be serviced. Sat with an empty drink for almost 45 minutes, waited forever for a new one, the food arrived a little cold as if it was prepared for a while and was just chilling there.
Food: for the price I ended up paying, the food was NOT worth it at all. I ordered a kalbschnitzel with a Champignons-white wine sauce. it came with a side of penne pasta in butter sauce - which was a surprise and in hindsight I should have asked what it came with.
The meat was so overcooked and dry - it was like eating cardboard. The pasta was weirdly both al dente hard in some and super soft and overcooked for others.
The champignons sauce was actually quite nice - though because of the butter soup the pasta was swimming in - it caused the sauce to slip right off and there was no way of taking advantage of the only good part of the meal. This paring doesn't work at all.
Also when I was done and the dirty plate was chilling on my table for almost 25 minutes, atleast I was asked if I would like dessert - to which I replied, a little bit later after I would be done with my drink. The servers never came back for the rest of the almost hour that I waited there.
Again, for the price of a meal and a drink there, I expected a lot more professionalism. Another example is having to walk to the bar to pay with card. In 2025 you'd assume restaurants would have multiple wireless card readers but apparently a place that asks you to pay a lot of money can't seem to afford this 🤷♀️
Unfortunately disappointing for the second time
I used to really enjoy ordering from Glückspilz and was always satisfied - unfortunately this was the second time in a row that the quality of the food had deteriorated significantly. The burger meat had an extremely salty, dry and strange taste, almost as if it had been spoiled. The fries were dried out and no longer hot, and the chicken nuggets were also disappointing in taste. Overall, the food didn't taste good at all - on the contrary, I hope we don't get food poisoning from it.
Delivery via Uber Eats was quick and the driver was very friendly, but unfortunately that alone can't make up for the disappointing food. I really hope that the quality improves again soon - as I was used to.
