We were really looking forward to the visit, but unfortunately it wasn't as expected. We had to wait a long time for the food, about 1.5 hours until the main course came. In addition, many of the dishes arrived cold. Unfortunately it was quite loud and you couldn't bridge the long waiting time with nice conversations. Even if the restaurant is super nice and the food tastes really good, it is not worth the price.

We chose a classic currywurst with fries and mayo and a Hawaiian baguette. The fries impressed with their perfect seasoning and crispy texture – a clear plus point. The currywurst, consisting of two smaller sausages, was pleasantly flavored with curry, but only the usual spiced ketchup was served, which took a bit of the sophistication out of the experience. A homemade sauce would have significantly improved this. The Hawaiian baguette was nice and crispy, but the salad was baked too, which affected the freshness. It should be positively mentioned that the garlic sauce was served separately, which takes individual taste preferences into account. The ambience was what you would expect from a restaurant in a swimming pool: functional, but not inviting. The view of the swimming pool seemed uninspiring, and the complete silence in the dining room was irritating - even quiet background music would have improved the atmosphere considerably. In summary, the food was solid and the cleanliness was impeccable. For an uncomplicated snack in between, this location in Otterndorf is definitely recommended, especially considering the limited competition. However, there is room for small improvements that could significantly improve the overall experience.

The suffix Grillhaus in the Medem Grillhaus raises expectations that unfortunately are not fulfilled. In fact, this is a classic kebab shop with a standard selection of dishes, supplemented by burgers. Ambiance and reception: The first impression was not very inviting. The older lady behind the counter seemed unfriendly and annoyed, which had a negative impact on the atmosphere right from the start. A television on the wall played Turkish radio with commercials, which seemed incongruous in combination with the sporadic and sparse furnishings. Cleanliness was average at best, spices were missing from tables, and general air quality suggested exhaust issues. The food: A kebab plate with fries and a cheeseburger with fries were ordered. Doner plate: The meat was disappointing - dry, mostly cold and the taste was dominated by an intense cumin aroma. The skewer consisted of a mixture of minced meat and beef slices, but was at least free of gristle. The fries were reminiscent of the thin versions from large fast food chains, but poorly seasoned, despite the presence of a spice mix that didn't taste convincing. The side salad (vegetable onions, red cabbage, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce) was overloaded with garlic sauce, so that the freshness of the ingredients was hardly highlighted. The iceberg lettuce in particular seemed boring, while the tomatoes stood out positively. A dollop of the same garlic sauce was also added to the meat, further enhancing the sauce's dominance. Cheeseburgers: The lack of visible cheese initially caused confusion. The owner clarified that the cheese had run under the top half of the bun and was hidden by the finished Danish burger/fries sauce. The burger was simply topped with tomato and iceberg lettuce, the patty was a typical frozen product that was only minimally enhanced by frying. The same poorly seasoned fries were served here too. Further impressions: The toilet was surprisingly clean and odor-free, which was a positive thing. However, this aspect could not make up for the disappointment with the food and the atmosphere. Conclusion: As a kebab shop, the Medem Grillhaus achieves a maximum rating of average. For a place that calls itself a grill house, the quality is disappointing. Unfortunately, with dry meat, an uninspired selection of side dishes and an unpleasant atmosphere, the visit will not be remembered fondly.

We were in Otterndorf for a week over New Year's Eve and ate here 4 times. I think that says it all. Great kitchen. Friendly service. Attractive atmosphere and clean and modern toilets.

Prices good, food okay, the baguettes could be revised :-), delivery person friendly, orders and special requests are always fulfilled.

This was the second time we've eaten there, we came all the way from Cuxhaven and we thought the service and the food were great. The price is very good and the portions are good, we were all full. The children even got a chocolate bar at the end, we got an ouzo to start and a sweet raki at the end, highly recommended, thank you for the great restaurant

Short review: Positive + nice view + Parking spaces right next to the “restaurant” Neutral • Service Negative - Cleanliness, dirt from previous guests was still under our table and was not cleared away. - Price/performance ratio, food from the Frittenbude at expensive prices - From 6 p.m. there is no more salad... - No shutters on the windows, so the sun is blinding and it is too hot in the room. - Loud ambience, loud music, no room dividers - The toilets are narrow, like a hose and dirty, paper towels are all over the floor as the trash cans are overflowing. The squat toilets were 🤮 (you don't want to read that in more detail). After dinner there is a small bowl of cold, tasteless popcorn. I have no recommendation for this “restaurant”.
