Super nice place, great ambience. I'm finally getting to this review. It's been several weeks already. We had delicious punches, we would do it again and again. You're looking for something like that on vacation! But I have to make one point in particular, from the perspective of a restaurateur. The service and the lady who mostly served our table was top class. I think Hanna was her name. Drinks would be there very early, my beer had a great crown when it was at the table, very friendly and always looking out for our well-being. From start to finish. Greetings from the man with a long beard who folded the tip according to origami. ;-) Dear colleague Henssler (or management), pay attention to the lady! Worth gold in these times. You would always have a free seat in our restaurant in Frankfurt!! *****

Really a great shop with super friendly service and delicious food! Eight of us came without a reservation and luckily managed to get a table. But I would recommend making a reservation. There's a lot going on there! The food was super delicious! Everyone can find something on the map. Vegetarian or vegan is no problem here! We had a very nice evening with you. Thank you! Small addendum on our part: Unfortunately, the veggi burger's patty was swapped for fried zucchini. The vegan burger before was really tasty and now you have the feeling that the patty is missing. Especially given the price (16.50 including fries), I expect something different, regardless of the store. Very unfortunate. Stars stay the same because the rest of your offer is top and the service anyway.

The service is super nice, leaves nothing to be desired and fulfills almost every wish. Food tastes fantastic. Price is at a good level, not too expensive but not cheap either. Das Essen war klasse und sehr schön angerichtet. Der Service war schnell und sehr freundlich und das Ambiente ist klasse. Man könnte die Beleuchtung noch ein wenig besser anpassen. Aber alles in allem top, kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, da wir total begeistert waren.

CORRECTION: We were two adults and two children, 8 and 13 years old. The children chose the burger (beef) with fries. What arrived was sad. A roll with a small blob of mayo on one side and a blob of ketchup on the other side and the dry meat on top for €12. Every McDonald's does this better. The children were very disappointed. The dessert took it out. That was good. My wife and I had the same as always. I had the Terryaki beef burger with Henssler style fries. The meat was also completely dusty and generally tasted different than usual. The same with my wife. The Classic salad we ordered was good as always. We've been there 5 times in the last 4 years and yesterday was the last time. For a total of €123 you can ask for more than dry meat and carelessly prepared children's plates. What a shame!! PS: The operation was very reliable and responded directly when you wanted something.

Wir waren zwei Erwachsene und zwei Kinder, 8 und 13 Jahre . Die Kinder haben sich für den Burger (Beef) mit Pommes entschieden. Was da ankam, war traurig. Ein Brötchen, auf der einen Seite einen kleinen Klecks Majo und auf der anderen Seite nen Klecks Ketchup und darauf das trockene Fleisch und das für 12€. Das macht jeder McDonalds besser. Die Kinder waren sehr enttäuscht. Raus gerissen hat es der Nachtisch. Der war gut. Meine Frau und ich hatten das gleiche wie immer. Ich den Terryaki Beef Burger mit Pommes Henssler Style. Das Fleisch war auch komplett staubig und generell hat es anders geschmeckt wie normalerweise. Bei meiner Frau das gleiche. Der bestellte Salat Classic, war gut wie immer. Wir waren jetzt in den letzten ca. 4 Jahren 5 mal da und gestern war es auch das letzte Mal. Für insgesamt 123€ kann man mehr verlangen als trockenes Fleisch und lieblos angerichtete Kinderteller. Schade!! PS. Der Service war super und zuvorkommend.

Sensationally good food. Crispy Chicken and the Schnitzel have taken the word crispy to a new level. The fries too... crispy, well seasoned and with the Henssler style they add a great taste. For me the chilies are a highlight in this context. Keep it up!

First we enjoyed the autumn sun on the terrace with a view of the Elbe. We followed the recommendation of the friendly manager “Tom” and enjoyed an Oberbräu light on tap. Tom is an original who gave our restaurant visit a personal touch with his friendly manner. Thanks for that. We really enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. There was nothing to complain about. The crunchy chicken burger is recommended. Conclusion. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

We ate in the restaurant with 6 people: dinner. The house is completely “lonely”, so you could actually use the absolutely generous window fronts to their full extent - almost all around. We had a table reserved and got a corner table facing the lake and therefore had 2 full-length windows at our disposal for our enjoyment. A complete large window facing the sea, so that we could see all the large ships gliding past & a large window completely aligned with the incredibly beautiful sunset, which we could also watch without any gaps. The fries were absolutely a hit, they were and are nowhere better!!! Very tasty food, with actually a certain “extra” taste! Reservation went well. Table was A1. The view was GREAT! The service was good. The food was tasty. One wish: The tuna/(sashimi), which is only available as a starter - in a very small portion - should also be available in a larger version as a main course!!!!! We can definitely recommend the restaurant, and we do so here too! And, the same applies to us in any case: “We would be happy to come back at any time”!

First the positive: the view is beautiful. Unfortunately for me there are only negative things left: When we arrived there were 6 tables occupied and 1 waiter there. A few more guests came after us. The guests after us were partially served and already received their food and the waiter came to us after half an hour to take the order. When he made a comment about the waiting time, he became very angry and simply walked away. Judging by his reaction, the restaurant manager didn't really care about the situation and didn't try to change anything (but didn't help with service or anything like that). We then ate somewhere else. The restaurant was probably only half as full as usual on Sundays. But unfortunately the waiter had no overview of the guests and didn't seem to want to work. Too bad! We came because of the positive food reviews, but didn't get around to trying it... No recommendation due to the service!

We have already been to the H Henssler restaurants in Travemünde and Grömitz, so far we have been very satisfied! But now something is missing from the schnitzel, namely the cranberries! That's why the SchnitzeLAhoi-style seemed a bit dry to us! Our son didn't like the currywurst either! But that's a matter of taste

We were really looking forward to our visit to Ahoi, but unfortunately our expectations fell far short of what we had hoped for. We wouldn't have thought that the burgers 🍔 in a restaurant run by a very well-known chef from TV and media are far worse than the burgers at a well-known car tuner from Dortmund. The tomato 🍅 chili soup, on the other hand, tasted very good. The service was very friendly, but unfortunately people rarely asked if something else was needed to drink. What we also found very unpleasant was the quite high volume in the restaurant. All in all it was okay but nothing special.

If the staff has to ask more often, after the order has been taken, what the next course and main course should be, confirming it again and again with a thumbs up, if the clothes are dirty, then every business stands or falls. It's a shame about Henssler's reputation. PS: we were also in Cologne once and the staff there was similar. The food is probably good. Our two small 0.3 liters. Warsteiner €4.30 each... pretty steep price (you used to pay DM17.20 for two beers in a bar 🤭)

We ate there as a family (2 adults, 2 children) in the early evening. The ambience couldn't be better. Direct view of the water and the ships passing by. When the weather is good, there is great seating outside, which we took advantage of right away. The service seemed a bit stressed that day. Everything was dealt with in no time, no questions about what the food was like, whether everything was OK (as you're used to), nothing. Hence the points deduction. We adults had the teriyaki beef burger with Hensslers style fries. Highly recommended! The burger was nice and juicy and tender, nice sauce on it and otherwise perfectly seasoned. The fries are always a highlight. Now we unfortunately come to the shortcoming. The children both had the burger from the kids menu with fries. The burger consists of a bun and a meatball, that's it. The meat was very dry, as was the bun unfortunately. No lettuce on it, no cucumber, no tomato, sauce can hardly be seen even with the naked eye. (I think it only consisted of a small blob of mayo and ketchup). And that for the price of ~12 euros... Unfortunately I have to say that I have often eaten much better at a fast food restaurant... At the table next to us we heard exactly the same criticism about the children's burger, so there is a lot of room for improvement. Otherwise, we would visit the restaurant again at any time, but then without the kids burgers.

Fish & Chips were good crispy fries, which were unfortunately a bit too salty, and slightly larger fish fingers ala Iglo. The children's burger was carelessly slapped onto the plate. So I went to Ahoi twice today, the first and the last time. The only thing that was very positive was the service and the waiting time.

Yesterday, October 13th, 2024, we were in the Ahoi Otterndorf, a question: why is the menu getting smaller and smaller (no salmon or tuna anymore, except in bowls; there are no tuna burgers anymore; chicken burgers, no more aioli and no avocado, only as cream), the portions are also getting smaller and smaller. However, prices continue to rise, inflation is actually falling... House soda 0.4l for 6.20 €...., I sincerely hope that this is a misprint that will be corrected...!! In addition, the staff is clearly more friendly and attentive!!! lost. And no, this is not due to the change in personnel. We have known most of them for years. We ate there twice every holiday. This week it will stay at one time, and most likely not at all on the next vacation! The point has slowly passed that we no longer want to afford it, even though we can! It's a shame, the location is great and actually it must be a "money printing machine", but for that the operators would have to think again and listen to the customers!

We were at Ahoi at 5:45 p.m., four adults and three children. "If we get there early we won't have to wait long" was our thought - the children would be happy. Placing the table (why was the table only put together when we were there?) and taking the order went quite quickly. Then the long wait began, even though there were only about 20 guests in the restaurant at the time. We waited until 6:45 p.m., almost an hour, for a currywurst, 2 burgers, 2 children's schnitzels with fries and a fish & chips. It's not just children who don't like that. The food came and the quality of the burgers and fries was great. The schnitzels were too small even for children and the fried fish had a large hole in the breading. This has the following effect: the breading protects the fish. If there is a hole in it, the frying fat flows into the casing and destroys the fish. That can certainly happen, but we were at Ahoi by Steffen Henssler. I've been in the hotel industry for over 25 years and am not squeamish - but as a chef I wouldn't say something like that. And as a waiter I would refuse to bring it out. Why didn't I complain immediately? I wanted to eat with our guests, especially since the food wasn't particularly hot. How much longer would we have to wait? When I pointed out that this was disappointing, all I got was "oh, yes, I'm sorry about that" A few meters further along the dike in Otterndorf there are snack bars that offer great, honest quality. For a third of the price.

Ultimately nothing more than a better snack. Weak, tight modular menu, significantly thinned out compared to the last visit, special and delicious dishes are now missing. Special components selected for the basic version were only added in disappointingly small quantities. Food too cold, tasty, but not complete and taste no better than good average. Table service was friendly, very child-friendly, supplied missing food components upon request, staff otherwise seemed uninterested. Guest room not very comfortable, very mediocre atmosphere, living conditions not inviting.

Das Essen war hervorragend! Der Empfang und die Sitzplatzauswahl bzw. -zuweisung war auch prima. Nachdem es zu einem Wechsel der Servicekräfte kam, war die für uns dann zuständige Servicekraft leider eher eine Ernüchterung für uns. Die erste Servicekraft gab sich alle Mühe, war engagiert und bügelte auch einen kleinen Patzer der Küche mit Bravour aus, dann erfolgte ein Wechsel im Personal und wir blieben mit den leeren Gläsern am Tisch sitzen und wurden scheinbar stumpf ignoriert während die anderen Tische um uns herum bedient wurden. Selbst als unser Sohn äußerte, dass er noch einen Getränkewunsch hat, wurde darauf leider weiterhin nicht reagiert. Als mein Mann das Lokal enttäuscht verließ, sprach er die zuständige Servicekraft direkt an, auch da wurde leider abwertend reagiert mit der Antwort, dass wir uns hätten melden müssen. Als die Servicekraft sich dann an unseren Tisch bemühte, war die Laune über den kritischen Hinweis deutlich zu spüren. Die gemütliche Stimmung eines entspannten Urlaubsabschlusses für uns war gekippt und ließ sich leider nicht mehr retten. Ich hoffe all dies beruhte auf einer Uneinigkeit innerhalb des Personals zu der Zugehörigkeit des Tisches.

At first you expect expensive food of reasonable quantity and quality. Looking at the menu didn't promise fancy food at reasonable prices and that was it. Quite original and in the truest sense of the word "inexpensive", which doesn't mean cheap. But it doesn't have to be. Quality can also cost something. Unfortunately there weren't many tables with a view of the Elbe (due to the design) and I found the chairs to be quite uncomfortable. That's why "only" 4 stars for the ambience. The service could have been more attentive. For example, I had already been sitting with an empty plate for 15 minutes. But that may also have something to do with the fact that there were quite a lot of guests there for an ugly October day and the waitresses were really busy. If you want to walk to the campsite or mobile home site in the evening, you unfortunately have to do so in the dark. You're probably just geared towards drivers. However, the restaurant can't do anything about it. All in all, a very pleasant and tasty evening and therefore full marks overall.

Mit der vorab Reservierung lief alles perfekt. Sofort ein Tisch zugewiesen bekommen. Bedienung war super nett und freundlich. Das Essen war ziemlich schnell am Tisch und hat super lecker geschmeckt. Hat man nicht jeden Tag und wir haben es uns im Urlaub gegönnt.

We were warmly welcomed by a nice female waiter at 5:30 p.m. Our order was taken and the starter and main course were delivered very quickly. So far everything is very good. Up to this point I would have given 5 stars for the delicious food and ambience. A larger group has now arrived and more guests. It's not a problem that you have to wait a little longer. But we were no longer served at all, let alone noticed. And when I tried to make eye contact with one of the male waitresses (responsible for ordering and cashing), she either failed or quickly looked in another direction or even glanced slightly in our direction but didn't respond. We would have liked to have ordered dessert. This was probably not desired. After 45 minutes we also tried to pay several times and even managed to speak to the waitress once when he quickly ran past us again. We sat directly across from the bar, which is where everyone was always walking. I feel like my idea of ​​service is no longer common these days. I thought you would also be asked if everything is OK or if you would like to order something else. That wasn't the case. And no, it wasn't so busy that you couldn't do that in passing. If we had been asked when paying if everything was OK, I would have already said that I was disappointed with the service.

We just wanted to spontaneously eat something at Henssler and took a seat on the outdoor terrace after asking a friendly waiter whether we could choose a seat outside ourselves. Then we waited…and waited and waited. Another waiter walked past us at least 5 times. Twice also with menus collected from other guests, which he could have easily left to us. Well, we helped ourselves and looked for the menu online. Bad network, WiFi only with code. After an eternity of loading time, we had already decided on drinks and food before anyone even came to our table. It stays that way. Wait again. Finally we decided to leave. Processes need to be significantly optimized and the team trained. Update: today (September 21st) we started a new attempt and then on a Saturday evening in the best weather you find yourself standing in front of a sign “Today only with reservation”. They didn't even want to offer us a drink on the almost empty outdoor terrace. Sad!

Nochmal würden wir nicht hinfahren. Preis-Leistung passt nicht.

Das Esssen war sehr sehr lecker und auch die Lokalität war toll. Gerne gehen wir wieder zum Steffen Henssler, es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Das beste ist der Blick. Wer auf Pommes, Teriyakisosse, frittierten Fisch und Burger steht, ist in der maritimen Fastfoodbude glücklich. Wer RICHTIG essen will, sollte (ein Haus) weiter gehen.

Ein Besuch im Ahoi lohnt sich in jedem Fall....allein für die Aussicht, für das leckere Essen sowieso (ich empfehle den Teriyaki Burger....köstlich) und als Nachtisch eine Portion Churros mit Eis. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und uns bleiben die Besuche dort auf jeden Fall in super schöner Erinnerung. Also, macht Euch auf zum Ahoi......

The food is very tasty. We are repeat offenders with the bowl. An absolute favorite meal. The good service is also worth mentioning.

Leckeres Essen, freundliche Bedienung, tolle Aussicht und aufgrund der hohen Personal- und Energiekosten auch wohl ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Für meinen Geldbeutel jedoch zu teuer. Für 2 Burger mit Pommes und 2 Getränken 60€ kann/will ich mir nicht ganz oft leisten

Sitting on the terrace on a warm day is great. Great view. Service was tried hard and everything worked well. Overall, as unfortunately almost everywhere, the prices have already increased quite a bit.

Es war wie erwartet: das Essen sehr lecker, die Bedienung sehr aufmerksam. Da es ziemlich leer war, kam das Essen sehr schnell. Preis/Leistung bekommt 100% Daumen hoch. Es gibt halt kein Chichi, weder bei den Gerichten, noch bei der Einrichtung. Das Wohlfühlen kommt mit der tollen Aussicht und der tollen Bedienung. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Sehr nette Bedienung und gutes Essen. Leider sind die Steaks von der Karte verschwunden, aber die Bowls waren auch gut!
