Medem Grillhaus in Otterndorf

The suffix Grillhaus in the Medem Grillhaus raises expectations that unfortunately are not fulfilled. In fact, this is a classic kebab shop with a standard selection of dishes, supplemented by burgers. Ambiance and reception: The first impression was not very inviting. The older lady behind the counter seemed unfriendly and annoyed, which had a negative impact on the atmosphere right from the start. A television on the wall played Turkish radio with commercials, which seemed incongruous in combination with the sporadic and sparse furnishings. Cleanliness was average at best, spices were missing from tables, and general air quality suggested exhaust issues. The food: A kebab plate with fries and a cheeseburger with fries were ordered. Doner plate: The meat was disappointing - dry, mostly cold and the taste was dominated by an intense cumin aroma. The skewer consisted of a mixture of minced meat and beef slices, but was at least free of gristle. The fries were reminiscent of the thin versions from large fast food chains, but poorly seasoned, despite the presence of a spice mix that didn't taste convincing. The side salad (vegetable onions, red cabbage, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce) was overloaded with garlic sauce, so that the freshness of the ingredients was hardly highlighted. The iceberg lettuce in particular seemed boring, while the tomatoes stood out positively. A dollop of the same garlic sauce was also added to the meat, further enhancing the sauce's dominance. Cheeseburgers: The lack of visible cheese initially caused confusion. The owner clarified that the cheese had run under the top half of the bun and was hidden by the finished Danish burger/fries sauce. The burger was simply topped with tomato and iceberg lettuce, the patty was a typical frozen product that was only minimally enhanced by frying. The same poorly seasoned fries were served here too. Further impressions: The toilet was surprisingly clean and odor-free, which was a positive thing. However, this aspect could not make up for the disappointment with the food and the atmosphere. Conclusion: As a kebab shop, the Medem Grillhaus achieves a maximum rating of average. For a place that calls itself a grill house, the quality is disappointing. Unfortunately, with dry meat, an uninspired selection of side dishes and an unpleasant atmosphere, the visit will not be remembered fondly.

Cozy atmosphere :) I like coming here to eat! You can tell straight away that everything is prepared very freshly and the food tastes really great 👍🏽 I've now tried everything from kebabs to different pizzas, and they all really taste good! There's definitely something for everyone here :) Well, I don't know anyone in Otterndorf and the surrounding area that tastes as good! Thank you 🙏🏽 I'll be back :)

We ordered Turkish pizza to take away. The food was ok and plentiful for a reasonable price. Nothing special, but solid performance. I would eat again.

Food was ordered very friendly at the counter and then brought to my table! Food very tasty, very fresh and plentiful. Price is okay too (it would even be okay if it were a little more expensive). The place is very clean! Maybe a little more decoration? What exactly is difficult to say? Sometimes less is more? I would go back at any time!

Ordered kebab with beef and got poultry. There were still leftovers scraped together because a new rotisserie with beef had to be cooked first. I specifically asked if it was also veal. I was assured. But you can taste it, at least to a large extent poultry. Also very dry. Bread bag is paper thin and tiny and everything falls apart when you eat it. Little salad, bland sauce. There are still ancient price boards hanging there, where the price for kebab is stated as €3.50. But it costs €6. Not recommendable. The other two kebab shops in town are much better.

Have to honestly say that this grill house was not the best decision I made. Basically, it's not difficult to serve a pizza or a kebab with a bit of flavor. But this grill house's cooking is just average. You're welcome to teach yourself otherwise, but I simply can't recommend it. Price performance is okay, but it doesn't outweigh the taste.

We ordered take-away food and were very satisfied. Gypsy schnitzel [I grew up with], cheeseburgers and kebab plates are very good. Price/performance ratio is ok even after the price increase. We'd love to come back.

I recently tried the schnitzel with gypsy sauce and fries at the restaurant in question. The restaurant owner hasn't yet noticed that the term "gypsy sauce" is apparently no longer allowed. The portion was generous and filling. However, the taste was rather mediocre and the schnitzel remained bland. The price of €4 for a small Fanta didn't help my decision.

The best kebab shop in Cuxland. Definitely. My husband and I drive here from Cuxhaven just to get food from here. Inexpensive and super tasty. Considering that the shop owner is just such a nice and courteous person. Regular customers and no one will be able to change this.

Einfache Einrichtung oder wie irgendwer geschrieben hatte Ambiente nicht existent trifft es zu 100% aber dafür glänzt das Grillhaus mit echt guten Preisen und leckere Essen! Und das ist meiner Meinung was zählt. Der 5te Stern kommt wenn es diese Plastik Tischunterlage nicht mehr gibt😅

Essen zum Abholen bestellt. 9 Essen konnten wir nach 25 Minuten abholen. Alles sehr lecker und preiswert. Zum Service und Ambiente kann daher nichts gesagt werden.

Laden naja, die Karten ist 7 Jahre alt und wenn man etwas bestellen will wird man angeblafft das die Karte 7 Jahre alt ist und das nicht zur Verfügung steht. Das Essen wird in Dönerpreisen berechnet Das was für den Laden spricht das Essen geht in Ordnung und ist nicht teuer

Wer ein verdammt leckeres Essen will, der sollte sich etwas von dort mitnehmen. Ambiente und Service existieren quasi nicht aber das macht auch nichts weil das Essen dort um so besser ist. Wir hatten zwei Pizzen und einen Salat die uns sehr geschmeckt haben . Sehr gut

Wir waren bislang zwei Mal hier. Beim ersten Mal haben wir sechs Gerichte bestellt (drei Pizzen, einen Dönerteller, eine Dönerbox und einen vegetarischen Döner). Alle Gerichte wurden vom Chef schnell und frisch zubereitet und waren sehr lecker. Beim zweiten Besuch waren alle Gerichte genauso lecker Der Chef ist sehr nett und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis unschlagbar. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können die negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen.

Gefüllte Pizza "Döner" ist echt genial. Super lecker und reicht bei uns für 2 Mahlzeiten. Hohlen immer ab da uns das Ambiente nicht so zusagt aber Pizza, Döner und gefüllte Pizza bleibt toll!

Ich war sehr unzifireden. Es war nur ein Mitarbeiter im Laden und dieser hat die wartenden Kunden nicht bedienen können. Zudem gab es keine salatsauce für salate.Nach einer Wartezeit von bereits 20 Minuten wurde auf Nachfrage gesagt dass es noch ca 15 min dauern würde und sehr unfreundlichen Umgang mit den Kunden.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und immer frisch. Der Inhaber stets freundlich, auch zu den kleinen Gäste. Unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Wir waren zu Besuch in der Stadt und waren auf der Suche nach einem schnellen Mittagessen. Aufgrund der zentralen Lage und den guten Bewertungen haben wir uns für das Medem Grillhaus entschieden. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wir hatten zwei Hauptgerichte, den Döner-Burger und eine kleine Pizzs Funghi, dazu einen kleinen Salat. Die Gerichte wurden frisch zubereitet, das Gemüse war auch frisch und knackig, und auch das Fleisch (Kalb) war angenehm zu essen. Preis/ Leistung absolut empfehlenswert.

Essen super, bei Andrang dauert es schon mal länger. Parkplätze Mangelware.

Wir haben uns diesmal Pizzen geholt, die sehr lecker waren. Die Pizzen haben gute Größen und sind gut belegt.

Bester Döner im Umkreis. Keine Preissteigung. 3.50 Euro für einen Döner ist unschlagbar. Hier würde ich sogar mehr zahlen, so gut ist er.

Große Portion, gut gewürzt, frisch und lecker, fairer Preis, freundlicher Service, ein Grund zum Wiederkommen!

Hatten hier eine leckere Pizza und einen Cheeseburger, beides lecker. Das Lokal ist sauber und einfach aber man fühlt sich wohl. Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend Hund ist auch kein Problem.

Ein netter Dönerladen, der aber auch deutsche und italienische Gerichte im Angebot hat: Qualität und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmen.
