The food was delicious.
The service was very friendly.
The chef from the kitchen also greeted us very warmly.
After a little small talk with them, we were given a shot of schnapps on the house.
Thank you very much.
Greetings from Thuringia.
I love the moussaka, which is sadly not on the fixed menu. I really try to get it and enjoy it whenever it's available on their daily menu. Other items I have tried are also very tasty. The staff are always nice.
A nice restaurant focusing on Bohemian cuisine. I found the food okay, but not outstanding. I had duck, and I've had better, more intensely flavored duck before. The portion sizes could also be more generous.
The service was adequate. As is so often the case, they start clearing tables while others are still eating. So you end up being the last one to finish eating, while the rest of the table is already empty.
The ambiance depends on where you sit: in the dining room, the beer garden, or the conservatory. The dining room is old and rustic, but not worn out. I can't comment on the conservatory. The beer garden is crammed into a rather small courtyard in the back.
🇬🇧 Popped in for for a bite to eat and had a warm greeting. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly and polite. Would highly recommend a visit as there is a good choice on the menu and the service is quick.
Awesome family-style German food! The dishes are delicious and delivered piping hot. If you want to get away from the touristy spots and enjoy something truly authentic, this is the place. Big portions, hearty flavors, and a cozy local vibe.
🚗 Located near a residential area in eastern Munich, parking is difficult for those driving; walking or public transportation is recommended.
🏠 The restaurant's storefront is small, but the interior is warm and comfortable, with soft lighting and an elegant ambiance. The overall atmosphere is much more refined than the exterior suggests.
✨ The staff are friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive, providing a relaxed and comfortable dining experience even for first-time visitors.
🍽️ I ordered Vietnamese stir-fried noodles with beef. It wasn't too salty or oily, but rather fragrant and layered. The noodles had a slightly charred, dry aroma, and the beef was crispy but not dry. The other side dishes were very flavorful; the eggs, bean sprouts, zucchini, onions, scallions, and cauliflower combined to create a multi-layered "dry and fragrant" flavor. 4.7/5
🗣️ It gets very crowded during dinner and weekends, with some conversations inside. For a quieter dining experience, it's recommended to visit during off-peak hours.
🌟 Overall rating: 4.6/5, suitable for diners who enjoy dry, flavorful Vietnamese stir-fried noodles with plenty of ingredients.
We dined at the current owner's restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve and were generally satisfied. The staff were all very friendly and, despite the restaurant being quite busy, they were also quick. We were happy with the food, with a few minor reservations (our friend thought the salmon with the tagliatelle was a bit too salty, and the skin on the goose breast was unfortunately quite thin – which we politely pointed out – but it tasted all the better for it, the meat was tender, and the sauce was excellent!).
The only downside was the bill. As mentioned, I enjoyed the goose so much that I asked for a second dumpling and some gravy (which arrived promptly). However, when I then discovered that an additional dumpling and some gravy were charged at €5.50 for a roast I had already ordered, I simply couldn't understand it (not to mention, it borders on extortion)! Unfortunately, I only noticed this at home (since we had split the bill with our friends and they took the receipt), otherwise I would have mentioned it immediately. This kind of business practice should be reconsidered, especially in times when people are questioning whether they should still eat out so often!
This is absolutely unacceptable. We've been customers for years and order quite a lot, even though we've found all sorts of things in our food, like a hair or a thread. But what's completely unacceptable and a no-go is putting a bead in the food! Do you use beads to dry chicken in the kitchen, or how am I supposed to explain this? You really need to start thinking about workplace hygiene. Never again Ganesha! 😡
Friendly and helpful staff
Rooms on the second floor are spacious and clean
Food from the menu is generous and delicious

The food at the Schwarzen Kreuz is truly outstanding – top-notch, beautifully presented, and truly delicious. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, and families with children are also very welcome.
Unfortunately, we've noticed for some time now that attempts to make reservations – whether several days in advance or on the same day – are repeatedly rejected with a "We're full." The usual explanation is that larger groups of 12 to 16 people are present. While this may be understandable from an organizational perspective, it becomes increasingly frustrating when you consistently don't get a table.
The pizza and the mixed salad were absolutely delicious. The pizza would easily have been enough for two people. The service was very friendly, although the few words of Italian spoken didn't sound genuine, more like a forced attempt.
