I recently visited the Greek restaurant Taverne Asteria in Neunburg vorm Wald and was absolutely thrilled!
The atmosphere was inviting and authentic, with lovely decor reminiscent of Greek culture. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
The food was simply delicious! The appetizers, such as tzatziki and dolmadakia, were fresh and full of flavor. The main course, gyros in Metaxa sauce #111, was perfectly prepared—hearty and aromatic. The wine selection was also impressive and paired perfectly with the dishes.
I would especially like to highlight the dessert, the galaktoboureko #211, which was a wonderful end to the evening. I highly recommend this absolutely fantastic Greek restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit! Five stars from me!
We had a fantastic evening at the Roecklplatz training restaurant! This tomato salad with basil mousse was amazing! The beef fillet was also exquisite, cooked to perfection, accompanied by crunchy green asparagus. The dessert, a coconut mousse with strawberries, rounded off the evening perfectly. The Easter Summer Flat is a great idea, especially on such a hot evening. Highly recommended, and continued success!
Since our regular restaurant, Huong Viet, is taking a well-deserved summer break, we decided to try something new.
We called home before catching the bus and ordered it. Our first small surprise: the glass noodles were already sold out. On a Friday afternoon. Oh well, that can happen. Cash only on the spot. Since I didn't have enough cash with me, I had to go to the savings bank. And when I had to pay with a €100 bill, I was asked quite rudely if I didn't have a smaller bill. -If only they had put the cash-only option on the website, or even better, on the menu... If only I had the exact amount... -
When we got home, the food was, of course, only lukewarm. The fried chicken had the consistency of old, coveted leather, but that wasn't so bad, since it was completely oversalted anyway.
My hoisin sauce was pleasantly spicy by European standards, but it had a rather strange, light, almost yellowish color. It tasted halfway decent, but just not like hoisin sauce.
The portions were absolutely adequate for the price.
Even after a four-year absence, I can still recommend the hotel. The staff is super friendly, and the food remains excellent! It gets busier in the evenings after 7 p.m., as locals also come there for dinner or drinks.
The food here is simply amazing. The owners are fantastic.
We come almost every week and love this place.
Duck gum pao and beef with onions are our favorites.
Just got home after eating at this restaurant and both my husband and I have diarreah. The young waitress was too busy on her phone to serve us, my husband had to go to the bar to ask for service. The schnitzel with Bolognese smelt like the meat was bad and here we are at 11.35pm and still taking turns on the toilet . I just hope that this doesn't carry on throughout the night as we both have got work at 6am.
We've been to this lovely restaurant several times, both inside and out. It's not an Italian pizza place, but rather an upscale Italian restaurant. The pasta is fresh and homemade. The focaccia is excellent. Everything we've eaten so far has been outstanding. There's a good selection of wines. It's best to make a reservation or stop by and ask (very friendly service). We'd be happy to return.
I've tried countless pizzas on my travels around the world, from Indonesia to Turkey, Italy, Spain, France, the USA, and even Central America. I've tried the "Pizza Vulcano" everywhere.
But nowhere has it tasted as good as here!
The dough is perfect, the ingredients fresh and aromatic, and the combination of flavor and quality is simply unbeatable. The work here is done with passion and attention to detail.
For me, this is the best Pizza Vulcano in the world, and that alone makes every visit worthwhile!
The owners are flexible and open all day. Martina, the waitress, is very friendly and fully accommodating to customer requests.
We ate there again on Sunday, August 17, 2025, as we have done many times before.
The sauerbraten and horseradish were very good.
We'd be happy to come back.☺️
We were there as campers. You can hike and cycle here. Dogs are welcome. Water and sewage disposal is available.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed, and we couldn't visit. Five euros for a pitch/free electricity, as well as free water and sewage disposal. Perfect.
