Wieninger Bräu in Prien a.Chiemsee

I managed to get a seat without a reservation, the service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. I can only recommend it.

Update end of July 2025: Still great service, great food, good prices. Reservations are highly recommended, as many people have noticed this and many vacationers also dine there during the season.

Eight of us arrived spontaneously and received a warm welcome. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time because we hadn't made a reservation, but this was communicated openly and friendly. Time wasn't a problem at all, as the food arrived very quickly, was well presented, and was truly delicious. Everyone was satisfied, the ambiance was great, and the prices were more than fair for the portion size.

The food was delicious and the service very good, and that's why it deserves the full number of stars. Unfortunately, I saw how the Aperol Spritz was made, and it's more like a rip-off, because at least half the glass was filled with sparkling water, then some Prosecco, and a small sip of Aperol. The whole thing cost €8.50, which, honestly, is unacceptable, so it's better to skip it.

We were at Wieniger Bräu just yesterday and we really enjoyed it. We sat on the terrace at the front. It can be a bit noisy there for some people, as the restaurant is located on a busier street. Nevertheless, we had a very good seat. The food was very good and served quickly. We had the dumpling trio and the spaetzle pan. The portions were a good size. The service was very warm, attentive, and gave us excellent advice. We would definitely recommend the restaurant.

We went to the brewery cellar and had cream pancakes, meatballs, and whitefish fillet, with apple fritters for dessert. There's also a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, as well as a large selection of children's dishes. There was nothing to complain about with our food; everything was beautifully prepared and served quickly and with a friendly atmosphere.

A very friendly waitress found us a special table where a nice couple was sitting. It was a lovely evening with pleasant conversation and good, hearty food at reasonable prices. We'd go back anytime.

I always like coming here There is a varied menu at good prices and wieninger beer is always good. The amount of food on the plate is very generous and could easily be a bit less. Popular with the locals what better recommendation could there be?

The crusted roast pork was unfortunately disappointing: the crust was tough, the meat dry. Instead of the usual potato dumplings, they served a flavorless bread dumpling. The beer sauce tasted simply salty. The cabbage was cold. I'm not surprised that there were still plenty of free tables inside and outside on a Saturday. After all, everything went very quickly. The vaulted cellar looks nice, and you can sit outside on the busy street.

A well-kept Bavarian restaurant with friendly service and typical Bavarian cuisine. On our first visit, we had the roast pork and the venison goulash. Absolutely delicious! On our second visit, I pre-ordered a knuckle of pork (required) and my wife had the fish platter. For dessert, there were apple fritters with ice cream and whipped cream. Highly recommended! The drinks arrived at our table shortly after ordering, and the food arrived without a long wait both times. We (from Lower Saxony) felt very comfortable. The value for money is top-notch! Highly recommended!

First, I'd like to say that we stopped off at the Mariengrund campsite while passing through on our way back from our Croatia vacation. While searching for a restaurant/inn in a typically Bavarian style, we came across the Gasthof Wieninger Bräu after just a few clicks. Since we're always up for something new, we decided to visit relatively quickly. The inn is located in Ulrich's cellar and has a Bavarian flair. The surrounding ambiance impressed us. A big compliment to our server, Patrick. He was super friendly and attentive. A huge compliment from us to Patrick. We had pancake soup on pancakes for dinner. I hadn't heard of it at all, but my wife had a deja vu experience from her childhood. For the main course, my wife had the Leberkäse (meatloaf) and I had the lumberjack steak. Both were deliciously presented and very tasty. From here, another compliment to the kitchen. Please keep up the good work. Finally, I'd like to say again that it's definitely worth stopping by and staying at this inn. After two weeks in Croatia, I've certainly eaten a meat dish or two, and I was absolutely thrilled when my meal was served here and I enjoyed it. I can recommend the inn without hesitation, and we'll definitely be back.

We were guests at Wieninger Bräu – and what can I say: It was simply outstanding! I had a wonderfully crispy pork knuckle, a fresh side salad, and to finish, wonderfully fragrant apple fritters – everything perfectly prepared, perfectly flavored, and lovingly presented. There really was nothing to complain about. Special praise also goes to our waitress, Andrea: attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. You could immediately tell that the work here is done with heart and dedication. In short: A truly successful evening in a cozy atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

The food was very good and tasty. However, the service seemed very stressed, even though it was very quiet, which wasn't pleasant. The ambiance was typically Bavarian, which was okay. However, Wieninger Bräu scores an own goal by allowing a view into the kitchen, where, for example, the order slips are placed on the prepared food, and the chefs also swear a lot, and so loudly that the guests can hear it. In summary, the food is very good, but the rest could be improved.

Food was a disappointment, unfortunately not good

This is a typical Bavarian restaurant, frequented by Bavarians. This is always a good start! Prices were good, as was the food and beer. Service was friendly. The menu is not big but caters for all tastes. Location is a bit out of the centre but worth the walk.

We spent a weekend in Prien and reserved a table online for Friday evening. Everything worked out perfectly, and all five of us, including our dog 🐶, were absolutely thrilled. Great beer and excellent food. The waiters were attentive, friendly, and simply fantastic 👍🏼. What can I say? We made another reservation and ate there on Saturday 🤣. We were not disappointed. We give it an A+ rating. Truly an experience.

Good food and the Bavarian Cordon Bleu was unique. Salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. The alcohol free beer was one of the best tasting we have had.

An absolute gem in the city. Beer is delicious and the conditions are the friendliest I've had in a long time. Goulash soup was great and generally rustic inside, but there was also a nice opportunity to linger outside. Really an absolute tip, especially if you want to escape the Chiemsee prices

The waitress takes food and says when serving drinks that the kitchen doesn't open until 5:30 p.m. 👎 Food isn't great! Service not attentive.

It doesn't work at all!!! Tables dirty, no cutlery, sloppy, waited forever for service - older, blonde hair. Without greeting, when she was finally nearby, she first shitted at my nine-year-old son and told him he “shouldn’t mess around like that”. That was enough! We didn't get to eat anymore. Give this store a wide berth, I haven't experienced such impudence in a long time.
