We ordered food for pickup based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't have much to do with Indian food. The palak paneer looked and tasted like a pack of frozen spinach had simply been defrosted without anything else added, and my chicken tikka masala tasted like a creamy tomato sauce from an Italian restaurant. There was no taste of Indian spices at all. It was a disappointment, unfortunately.

Good food, good service, reasonable prices

I always enjoy eating there, outside for lunch in the summer, and inside in the beautiful rooms in the fall and winter.

The service is very good, and the owners are very friendly. The food is delicious, plentiful, and arrives warm and hot. The ambiance in the restaurant is very nice outside, although it's located in an alley off the main road, hence only 4 stars. However, the interior is very cozy.

I have only positive things to say about the Maharaja restaurant. We ate there several times, and everything was excellent. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy. The delivery service is also highly praised: punctual and friendly. The food is always top-quality and tastes just like you would expect from good Indian cuisine. We have never been disappointed, neither with the service nor with the quality of the food. A clear recommendation for anyone who enjoys Indian food.

Ate here a few nights ago. Lovely food, not greasy, nicely flavoured and spiced. The owner even asked us how we like our spice; we went for medium and it was on the spicier side of medium but very tasty! Good portions, clean restaurant and toilets and really friendly staff. I would advise booking after 6.30 as it got really busy quickly for a Monday night!

They made us wait two hours, didn't have any change, so we only got €5 back instead of €13. On top of that, we were missing two packs of mozzarella sticks. An absolute disgrace. I'll add to your response: They only say what they said in your response, but they leave out the money and the mozzarella sticks again...

Unfortunately, our visit to Maharaja was anything but pleasant. In one of the dishes, we found a piece of metal – apparently part of a scouring pad – as well as a hair. This is absolutely unacceptable and raises serious questions about kitchen hygiene. Even more disappointing, however, was the staff's reaction: Instead of resolving the situation professionally, we were told we were simply having a bad day. Such disrespectful and indifferent attitudes towards paying guests are simply unacceptable. As "compensation," we received only a 10% discount – a completely inadequate handling of the situation given such hygiene deficiencies. Hygiene, quality, and customer service should be the foundation of every restaurant – unfortunately, we experienced none of these at Maharaja. We will definitely not return and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Another random selection of Indian Restaurant, on our way to Berlin and had an amazing food. We even took a take away for our dinner after our lunch. Ambiance was good. The only thing we felt was the cooling in the restaurant is not great. It was a hot day and we felt a bit hot sitting inside. Prefer to sit outside in such occasions, but otherwise, you should have your pennies worth. I would definitely visit if I am around that area and looking for a place to eat.

We went there spontaneously, without a reservation, one weekday evening and the quality, selection, and taste were great! We'd be happy to return.

It was absolutely delicious, especially the black butter lentils. The waiters were friendly. I wasn't sure if the chutneys were homemade, but they were still good. I'd definitely go back. Everything is gluten-free and vegan, too!

I had pizza delivered. The pizza was cold, there was barely any tomato sauce, and the dough was like a shoe sole. Delivery took 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, they cut corners here.

A weekday lunch visit. We had reservations and it was full. There are special discounted lunch offers, but these are slightly smaller than normal portions. Service was great. Everything happened quickly. Food was super tasty. Sanitary facilities are all clean. Parking is available behind the house. Gladly again.

The service was good and restaurant in a nice part of town with a good atmosphere. However I was disappointed by the food: the papadums and their chutneys looked and tasted shop-bought and the curries and rice lacked flavour, as well as the chickpea salad side being sickly sweet. Ich bestelle sehr oft dort und gehe auch vor Ort essen. Ich mag dieses Restaurant sehr. Leider kommt es immer wieder bei Bestellungen zu extra Zutaten die zb bei einer Pizza vergessen werden. Ich ziehe daher jetzt 2 Sterne ab, da das nicht das erste Mal war. Eine extra Zutat kostet 2,50€ und wenn sie 2-3 Zutaten vergessen sind das gleich mal 7,50€. Ansonsten ist das Essen wirklich empfehlenswert. Bitte mehr darauf achten und mehr für die Kunden Zufriedenheit sorgen. Letztes Mal wurden 2 Zutaten vergessen. Dieses Mal „nur Eine“ Es war die größte Größe der Pizza, daher dieser Preis.

We spontaneously organized our daughter's birthday there and were received very friendly despite our flood of balloons and the tumult. The food was really excellent and the team conjured up a surprise for the birthday child and sang. That's how gastronomy works!

Wow, when you expect nothing and still get disappointed. I don't want to write everything in detail now because that would go beyond the scope. So to summarize, with the pizza you taste the cheapest ingredients, molded meat and the cheapest cheese, the mango sauce for the duck was a thin mango soup with no significant ingredients, the starter plate was dead-fried vegetables, probably beaten to death, drowned in breading and then deep-fried until nothing moved. Last but not least, the chicken in hot sauce, the sauce was dry, no joke, while the mango sauce was too runny, the hot sauce was too thick. Now you mix it all up with a delay of over 20 minutes for the maximum delivery time and we have served disappointing food in cold form, oh and the breeze of “no hello and no goodbye on the phone” comes into play too. Never again, really never again.

When I was looking for something special, I was a bit disappointed here. The menu is overflowing and I couldn't really find my way around. Somehow I knew from the food that this was a restaurant chain. It's tasty, but not a taste highlight compared to other Indian restaurants I know. But apart from that, you can't go wrong if you want to try something exotic ;-) Simple cuisine, without any major flaws.

Friendly service, tasty eaters in a pleasant atmosphere

Got a takeaway vegetarian curry with a garlic naan, 2 samosas and a raita. Not very spicy but very well seasoned with lots of fresh flavours. Samosa was crispy and really well seasoned, lots of fresh coriander and lime and the cumin in the raita was really delicious. Definitely recommend.

The price was reasonable, better cheap but expensive, somewhere in the middle and I found it reasonable for the quality. The restaurant is a wonderfully exotic surprise in Prien. Spoiled by the cuisine of my hosts after a week's stay on site, our expectations were high. But it was fulfilled in full. Great food on offer, it was difficult to choose: once a tandoori grill plate, then a grilled chicken and I ordered fish with fresh vegetables. The taste was pure here. We were thrilled! The sauces are hearty and delicate, the vegetables are crunchy, the meat and fish are all cooked or grilled to perfection. Not to forget the fruity Indian white wine. A first for me, but one I would love to do again and again. The very courteous, friendly service was also very positive. The first restaurant visit in the new year 2025 was a complete success! What more could you want? Only the personal visit from the chimney sweep early in the morning topped it!
