Zur Uel in Düsseldorf

Gute Preise aber das Bier hat uns geschmacklich nicht gemundet. Super nette Bedienung. Essen sah gut aus und preislich gut.

Lange ist es her, aber back to the roots. Mit Familie waren wir vor dem Hosen Konzert dort etwas essen und trinken. Soweit so gut. Bezahlen kein Problem sollte man meinen. Karte und let's Go. Schade Kartenleser hat kein Papier mehr. Somit keine Kartenzahlung. Draußen befindet sich ein Geldautomat der nicht kompatibel mit meinem Geldinstitut ist. Ich bin nicht bereit Mehrkosten aufgrund von fehlender voraus Planung zu zahlen. Betrag in Familienkreis zusammen getragen. Wollte eigentlich Einladen. Hinweis an Mitarbeiter gegeben entweder Karten Zahlung nicht möglich auszuhängen oder eben in der Nachbar Kneipe ein zwei Rollen Bon Papier auszuleihen.

Waren mit sechs Personen da, das Essen war nichts besonderes. Das Fleisch des Senfrostbratens hätte weicher und besser gewürzt sein können. Außerdem war keine Kartenzahlung möglich.

Leckeres Füchschen Alt und top Lage, sodass man hier fündig wird, wenn Bolkerstrasse schon überquillt. Etwas Abstriche muss man beim Essen machen. Das ist nur ganz OK.

Gute Kneipe, gutes rustikales Essen gutes Bier. Nette Bedienung.

Sehr unfreundliches Personal. Das “Restaurant” ist nicht mal Deutsch, doch Griechisch. Und man spürt das: wir wollten nur zwei Biere und der Mitarbeiter wollte uns dafür ohne was zu sagen 15 Euro Trinkgeld bezahlen lassen, da Kartenzahlung hier nur ab 20 Euro geht. Der nette Mitarbeiter konnte es uns nicht ordentlich erklären, hat deswegen seinen aggressiven Kollegen zu unserem Gespräch eingeladen und der sah aus als möchte er uns etwas antun. Man fragt sich was mit dem Typen los sein muss, dass er so aggressive reagiert. Mein Freund war gar nicht aggressiv. Wir bekamen letztendlich das Angebot ein Gericht auszuwählen. Gnocchi mit zähem Hänchen, welch ein gutes Restaurant. Ihr seid wie Tiere.. Nie wieder dieses “Restaurant” und dieses eklige “Essen”.

Heute waren wir mit einer größeren Truppe in der benannten Lokalität. Der Innenraum konnte uns aufgrund des Geruchs nicht überzeugen. Es roch nicht nach Essen sondern anderweitig Recht streng. Der Service war okay aber jetzt auch nicht herrausstechend. Das Essen war ok, aber auch wahrlich kein Meisterwerk. Wenn ich in eine Lokalität zum Speisen gehe, erwarte ich mehr als das heute.

Ich war zum ersten Mal hier und es war super! Die Atmosphäre erinnert an eine alte Düsseldorfer Brauerei. Es war nur etwas zu dunkel. Es muss nicht superhell sein, nur etwas heller. Das Essen war gut. Die Schnitzel hätten etwas mehr Panade und Geschmack vertragen können. Trotzdem lecker. Ich komme wieder.

Die Uel, alteingesessene Institution in der Altstadt. Für mich am meisten negativ: Du trinkst dein Bier, für mich ein Genussmittel, hast drei Schluck getrunken und schon, ungefragt, ein neues vor dir stehen. Das geht gar nicht. Ist wie im Autorennsport eine Art Druckbetankung . Service: naja Essen: naja Ambiente: naja WC: naja. Ist auf alle Fälle Luft nach oben.

Zur Uel ist ein tolles, uriges Restaurant in der Düsseldorfer Altstadt. Das Essen ist dort immer lecker, man muss besonders Philip, Marcos und Yannis im Service loben, aber auch das gesamte Personal der Küche, die alle ihre Arbeit mit viel Engagement erledigen. Ich komme immer gerne.

Zufällig entdeckt. Die vielen freien Tische donnerstags Abends in einem Brauhaus in der Ddorfer Altstadt war eigentlich ein Indiz. Die Burger waren lecker, vom Senf- Schmorbraten war ich enttäuscht. Bedienung war gut, aber das Ambiente ist oll... Nicht zu empfehlen 👎

Ab 2026 werden dort keine Karten mehr akzeptiert, aber es gibt ein Kartenlesegerät! 🧐 Wenn es in Deutschland so läuft wie in Spanien, handelt es sich hierbei um Schwarzgeld.

Nette Wirtschaft in der Düsseldorfer Altstadt. Die Speisen sind gut zubereitet.

Wir bestellten Schweinebraten mit Pommes, bekamen aber Püree. Wir bestellten zwei Biere, bekamen aber zwei Gläser Wasser, und dann wiederholten wir das Ganze. Am Ende standen vier Biere da, obwohl wir keine vier bestellt hatten. Und schließlich gab er uns 4,90 € Wechselgeld, also 20 Cent pro Bier. Er war wohl verärgert, als ich eine Rückerstattung verlangte. Ihm fiel auch auf, dass die Portionen einfach auf den Tisch geknallt werden. Und das ist nicht nur bei uns so. Ist das hier etwa der Standard-Service? Mir gefällt das nicht. Und der Kohl war total versalzen.

Ich war zum zweiten Mal in diesem Restaurant. Der Service war schnell. Ich habe beide Male gutbürgerliches Essen bestellt und war jedes Mal sehr zufrieden. Das Ambiente hat einen ganz besonderen Charme passt sehr gut zu einem Altstadt Restaurant.

Ambiente ist nicht schlecht, aber das Essen war es. Verbranntes Schnitzel, rohe Bratkartoffeln, lieblos serviert.. Der Salat war in Ordnung, der Preis war es nicht.

Essen sehr gut , einfach kein Brimborium. Service minimalistisch authentisch freundlich. Ambiente Gasthaus 50/60iger Jahre Flair Keine Tischdecken etc. nichts überflüssiges. War gut 👍 👌 👍 👌

Ich hatte ein Wiener Schnitzel. Erwarten Sie nichts Besonderes, das Schnitzel war okay. Ein Kellner musste das gesamte Restaurant bedienen, weshalb der Salat zum Schnitzel wohl vergessen wurde. Vermeiden Sie den Tisch neben der Tür, da diese beim Reinkommen nicht richtig schließt und es dadurch kalt zieht. Alles in allem aber nicht schlecht.

Traditionell Craft Brewery, ein hervorragender Ort, um in die traditionelle Bierhausatmosphäre einzutauchen – sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Bedienung brauchte ewig, mussten selbst zur Theke gehen um die zweite Runde Getränke nach über 10 Minuten winken zu bekommen. Beim Bezahlen wurde aktiv nach Trinkgeld gefragt, als ich freundlich die Mängel im Service als Grund für kein Trinkgeld angebracht habe, wurde ich unfreundlich angepampt, dass das nicht stimmt und sie andauernd bei uns gewesen wären. Stimmt einfach nicht und man sollte gegenüber Kunden niemals unfreundlich werden.

Düsseldorfer Brauhaus eben. Etwas rustikal, etwas laut, viele Touristen, und eben auch superlecker. Toller Service und ein absolut empfehlenswerte Karte. Immer wieder gerne.

Das Glas ist ist niemals voll, aber so ist es halt

Ich war heute am 22.12.25 mit einem Arbeitskollegen dort essen. Er kommt aus Münster und ich aus Düsseldorf. Aufgrund von positiver Erinnerungen habe ich ihn dorthin mitgenommen. Wir wurden nüchtern aber nett bedient. Auf Nachfrage gab es dann noch die 3 Gerichte der Tageskarte. Grünkohl mit Mettwurst und Gulasch mit Rotkohl und Püree gab es für uns. Tatsächlich beides lecker, allerdings beim Gulasch mit Abstrichen. Das Essen war nur lauwarm, die Portion übersichtlich und das Kartoffelpüree war entweder aus der Tüte oder so langweilig gemacht, dass es scheinbar keinen Unterschied gemacht hat. Das Gulasch war sehr lecker, genauso wie der Grünkohl. Toiletten na ja, Altstadt halt. Wir würden wiederkommen. Liebe Grüße

Danke, dass man hier noch einfach für Gruppen reservieren kann ohne seine Seele zu verpfänden! Ambiente locker und entspannt. Die Essensauswahl genau richtig und preislich angemessen. Leider war meine Haxe labbrig und nicht knusprig.

Hier war absolut viel los, aber es war eher ein buntes Treiben als Hektik, so wie man es sich vorstellt, wenn man in einer Kneipe oder einem Lokal sitzt, was sehr beliebt ist und entsprechend gut besucht wird. Wir wollten ein traditionelles Düsseldorfer Essen haben und das haben wir hier auch bekommen mit gutem Altbier. Die Bedienung war schnell, das Essen war gut und die Preise waren fair.

Sowohl Zürcher Geschnetzeltes mit kleinem Salat als auch Maracuja-Schorle waren nicht besonders lecker und dafür recht teuer. (4,70 und ca. 20€). Bier schmeckt hier aber auch gut.

It's been a while since I've been to the Uel. The atmosphere is rustic and relaxed, as always. Good food at prices you'd expect ten years ago (various large salads for €14.90). Friendly service, everything was great.

It's okay for a cold drink. The food is definitely not recommended. The relatively low price is reflected in the quality. The schnitzel was reminiscent of those frozen schnitzels meant for the toaster. The fried potatoes were soggy.

Nice ambiance, and the food was more than just "decent" (home-style cooking). However, on a recent Saturday evening, the staff weren't always attentive and were even unfriendly at times.

A cafe with a limited menu. Payment by card is only accepted for orders over €25; otherwise, you have to pay in cash. A strange and inhospitable policy. The staff wear their own clothes, making them difficult to recognize. A very limited selection of desserts. The flavors of the dishes aren't particularly special, but they're adequate.

The drinks are good and come quickly, as they should. The fries we had were also good.

Food: was tasty (mustard-crusted roast), but at most a junior portion, and the mustard crust wasn't really "crusty." The salad was extremely simple: all the ingredients carelessly placed on a plate, a dollop of balsamic dressing in the middle, and that was it. 🤨 Service: We didn't have to wait long for a refill. Atmosphere: Brewery atmosphere on a rather low level. Pretty careless, exposed cables, etc.

The staff probably don’t like tourists, do not expect quick service despite being empty and plenty of waiters. At least 20 minutes for the first Altbier and more 20 minutes to pay. No accept card, and the most expensive beer in the city center.

Chill spot thankfully removed from the throngs on the Rhein. I’ve come to like this street on my regular walks along the waterfront. Brisk service, satisfying beer, historic vibe. Always good to stop by for relaxation.

The ambiance is certainly debatable, but the tables (inside) were slightly sticky, the food was at least partly very greasy (I had Leberkäse that was almost dripping), and the fact that a waiter asked if I wanted something else to drink... well, and it wasn't exactly busy. We won't be going back. Oh well, at least the beer was tasty 🍺

The first and last time! We waited a long time before we were served. The service was carelessly done, without any garnish. The Jägerschnitztel came with a disgusting pre-made sauce and tasted slightly of alcohol. The salad was very bland. Few turkey pieces, lots of green stuffing. What a shame, we were looking forward to a delicious meal...

Very authentic. Perfect if you want to experience the real Düsseldorf, highly recommended.

A hidden place for lunch but very worth it, excellent prices for the dishes of the day and very good quality, for those who don't want to spend a lot on the trendy places in the center I recommend it.

Het is een typisch Brauhaus : de geschiedenis gaat terug tot in de achttiende eeuw. Hier wordt Altbier gedronken. Overzichtelijke menukaart met de bekende gutbürgerliche gerechten. De gerechten zijn van voldoende kwaliteit; verwacht hier geen culinaire hoogstandjes. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is super!!

Altbier tastes good, we had a lot of fun outside, unfortunately the food wasn't as good.

The Brauhaus Zur UEL definitely has its charm - the atmosphere is rustic and typical of a traditional brewery. The home-brewed beer is good and fresh, I particularly liked the Altbier. The food was also okay, but not outstanding. The portions are sufficient, although I would have liked a little more sophistication in some dishes. Unfortunately the service was mixed. Although friendly, the staff seemed overwhelmed at times when the house was full, so we had to wait a little longer. The volume in the brewery was also quite high, which made the stay less relaxing. Overall, a solid brewery with good beer and decent cuisine, but there is still room for improvement - especially in terms of service and coziness.

Summary: Rustic, cozy restaurant with good and cheap food. Eat: If you're looking for fancy food in slimming portions, you've come to the wrong place. There are decent portions here to fill you up. Various salad variations with and without meat, schnitzel, etc. are on the menu. The salads are particularly recommended. Service: Nice and functional. Fits. Furnishings: Quaintly cozy. Not for people who like to sit softly.

Fantastic restaurant with great German food. It was exactly the experience we were looking to have with the family. The staff were very accommodating and were patient with us as we ordered. Highly recommend!

Anyone who fatally neglects to make a reservation at the neighboring "Brauerei im Füchschen" will end up, willy-nilly - the interior is typical of a brewery and Füchsen-Alt is also available - in the "Zur Uel". But the punishment follows immediately: the food is subterranean!

Very simply furnished restaurant in the old town, owner-managed, friendly, service quick. We had sauerbraten from the daily menu, which was delicious. The only bad thing are the toilets, ancient, narrow, not dirty, but very narrow and shabby.

Unfortunately, we discovered for the second time that there were discrepancies during the payment process. For example, we wanted to pay for a large Coke; Instead, a juice spritzer was booked because the amount was identical. However, at the end a large cola remained open, indicating errors in billing. We already addressed this point on Saturday for clarification. We offered to settle 50% of the outstanding balance (approx. €53) as it is your responsibility to make the bookings properly. After you rejected our offer and we checked the invoice, we found evidence of incorrect billing behavior. This upsets us very much and gives the impression that guests are being deliberately deceived. With 55 planned guests and another full table, such behavior is more than questionable - we will not be coming back. It's unfortunate because we supported your operations with well-prepared evening planning. You received your entire order for the dishes from us in the afternoon.

Surprisingly diverse food, we were there spontaneously with a large group and were served at the same time, all different food, everything warm and everything delicious. The ambience of the brewery is rustic and authentic.

Yes, the Uel, I've been there before, years ago and, as I remember, I wasn't that enthusiastic. Today I basically took a wrong turn and ended up there by accident. OK, since you're here, give the store another chance and lo and behold, I'm positively surprised. One has to say quite clearly: the ambience could be better! No, it wasn't dirty, but everything was a little old. No matter where you look: toilet, guest room, bar, garden, entrance... everything has seen better days. Even if you expect a typical Köbes in his waiter's uniform, you're in the wrong place here: friendly and courteous, but in street clothes that blend seamlessly with the ambience. Well, nothing that would be really bad and yes, actually it's about the food and drinks and that was great! The wheat was well chilled and arrived immediately. For dinner I had an excellent pork knuckle with red cabbage and fried potatoes on a very simple, white, ceramic plate. I haven't eaten the knuckle better so far, you can definitely compare it with those from well-known restaurants in Düsseldorf, only here it's a little cheaper. The fried potatoes were fresh and good, the red cabbage also tasted good. The dish was rounded off with gravy and mustard, which were included separately in small bowls. So I ate very well, and the star deduction is for the ambience. But maybe you want it that way.

I had the gnocchi So delicious!! While waiting for the food, we were served bread and garlic butter- perfect and fresh.

Very beautiful place, variety of beers, delicious schnitzel, beautifully decorated for Christmas! I recommend it!

The store is a complete disaster!!! Last night we spontaneously wanted to have something to eat in the old town, so we went to Uel. It all started when we received water and a Sprite in a small glass that I had never seen before in terms of size. The price for the two glasses was very high. Then we each ordered two schnitzels with fries and a side salad. The food was really disastrous!!! The schnitzel tasted burnt and was so thin. The fries looked old and of course they tasted that way too! Just like old deep fryer fat. I would give the side salad -10 stars if I could, and for the life of me I can't understand how the kitchen can let out such food. Lettuce leaves were a little older and already dry, the tomatoes and cucumber were definitely no longer fresh. The highlight of the salad was a dressing on top that I have never seen before. It tasted very sour and bitter and there was also a very cheap ready-made dressing with a strange consistency on it. Simply very very inedible!!! In addition to his schnitzel, my friend ordered a hunter's sauce, in short it was a bag of ready-made sauce that was just very cold and the mushrooms were still hard. The tables are glued so that the beer mat doesn't move a millimeter. The service comes across as lackluster and is often busy with other things like looking at cell phones etc.! So I think every station bar would do a better job with the schnitzel and fries. I can recommend this store 0.0% and don't have anything positive to say about it. The store has nothing to do with a restaurant. People here really don’t understand the catering industry.

It was midday, meals were served quickly (reheated). Grill counter: dry, cured meat, mainly sausage. Fried potatoes were tasty.

Stopped here spontaneously for dinner. A young team in a rustic pub. The service was quick and friendly. The food came to the table quickly and was delicious 😋 Of course there was also an Altbier.

Goose leg with dumpling and red cabbage. Who doesn't look forward to a meal like this? 29.00 euros is also ok. The table was very sticky. We asked to wipe it again. It didn't get any better either. Drink delivery worked well. The cutlery came in a former tin. When we took a look inside we noticed something quite different. Not so appetizing: everything wasn't quite as clean. Then the food came. The goose leg was pretty puny. There was a maximum of one spoonful of red cabbage. And the dumpling was a disaster. It wasn't finished yet and was cold inside. Overall the food wasn't really warm. I ordered another dumpling. Then it came. Really cold inside. Unfortunately we left hungry. I told the staff. Well, I won't judge the reaction. Next year we'll do it alone again with friends. It's a shame, I like to support gastronomy. But not like that!

Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. It was cold and carelessly put together. The fried potatoes have barely seen a knife. Schnitzel extremely thin and slightly burnt. The mustard crust was missing the crust and the rump steak, well. Salad ok the service was ok. Toilets clean but..... The atmosphere is like a tavern and somewhere in the corners there are paint pots under the benches on the weekend!!

We've been there several times before, but today was really disappointing. I ordered goulash. The taste was good. But 5 little pieces of meat that you had to look for in the pepper sauce, that was really sad. Altbier on tap and already at 7 p.m.

Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty

Recently had dinner at Zur Uel and the experience was unfortunately disappointing. The Haxe was served remarkably quickly, which worried me, the quality of the dish indeed left much to be desired. It seemed that speed came at the expense of care. The taste and preparation were mediocre, and the dish lacked the refinement you would expect at a Düsseldorf restaurant. In addition, the service could have been a bit more enthusiastic. The staff was polite, but there was a lack of commitment, which meant that the feeling of hospitality was lacking. Friendly and attentive service can never make up for the mediocre quality of the food, however.

Nice, but it could be better! Yesterday we came in hungry. The food was okay in terms of price - but it lacked love and dedication. It was something of a path and not an experience; normally it should be more than just the satisfaction of a basic need. Of course, it's recommended for drinking a beer and the atmosphere is suitable - I'd take a closer look for eating. A little fresh coat of paint would also do the shop some good.

Dear Uel team, That was probably nothing! We had - Wiener Schnitzel - Asparagus with ham - Leberkäse with fried egg/fried potatoes The meat loaf was halfway ok, the fried potatoes were good but could have been warmed up. The schnitzel was first beaten to death and the breading was then almost twice as thick as the meat. The asparagus tastes like it has been drowned in water for hours. Overall, everything was carelessly arranged. The only thing that was really good: the water, the Cola and the Füchsen Alt. This has to be better!!! With a lot of goodwill 2 stars. Given the quality, this is the last meal for the next few years.

I had fond memories of Uel from before, which is why I went there with a visitor yesterday at lunchtime. The almost empty restaurant should have put us off straight away. Pasta dish ok and tasty, but the meat dishes (Züricher Geschnetzteltes and Mustard Roast) had a very strange taste of the meat -> suspicion of rotten meat. Disgraced again in Düsseldorf's old town!

Terrible. The taste of the worst canteen. The potatoes in the side dish are all burnt, the meat is sole. Hygiene is zero.

Beer ordered without a menu - costs more than with a menu. Inquiries to the staff were immediately answered very aggressively with a counter question as to whether we had a problem. There was no justification for the different prices. You can do that, but not with us!
