A fantastic atmosphere and the beer is delicious. What more could you want! Highly recommended!

Wonderfully located restaurant. The food came very quickly; I had paprika schnitzel, fries, and a side salad. It was quite a lot of salad with very little pre-made sauce, a rather dry affair. The rest, in my opinion, was also convenience food, which is a shame! The meat was so tough you could hardly chew it. The rude service definitely lost points. Not a friendly word; the cutlery was slammed down somewhere on the table. When paying, no thanks for the tip, no goodbye, etc. – wordless and unfriendly. I was there with visitors I was showing Düsseldorf to, and I was really embarrassed to be served like that. Never again. We have such good restaurants in the old town that we don't have to put up with such unprofessionalism.

Excellent place to enjoy a knuckle and German beer.

The restaurant 'Im Goldenen Ring' in Düsseldorf is known for its traditional German food, especially its knuckle of pork and sausages, and has its own brewery. ​I visited this restaurant three times in a row and thoroughly enjoyed the knuckle of pork each time. The home-brewed art beer is also first-class. ​However, the fried salmon on the salad was a bit too salty, so I couldn't finish it all. I would like to ask you to make it less salty next time. ​Although the restaurant was very busy every day, there were no problems with the conversation. It was a cheerful and enjoyable meal each time.

Super crowded place. Impossible to avoid shouting to be heard. The waiter is stunned. He says the beer he brought me is red. But it's like my colleague's. Blonde. An hour after our order, the Italian-speaking genius arrives to say the shanks we ordered are out of stock. We order something else, which we didn't want, and it arrives very late. Overall: high price, terrible service. We won't be back.

A cozy atmosphere, friendly and fast service. Live music (currently every Thursday) is a must for anyone who wants to experience a special evening in a brewery. Those who want to can even dance, and those who don't can enjoy the music with a delicious Altbier. Highly recommended! We're always happy to come back.

The food (schnitzel, wursts with mashed and fried camenbert) were very good. Excellent beer and good riesling wine. The service is the most efficient you will find, but don't expect smiles or chit-chat from waiter, but 100% efficiency.

The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the price/performance ratio was very good.

The knuckle of pork was very dry. If you want to sit outside, it's full of little flying bugs. If you want to tip little or nothing (perhaps because the knuckle was drier than the Gobi Desert), you won't even get a "goodbye" or a receipt thrown on the table. But the mashed potatoes were delicious. There are certainly more recommendable places nearby.

The food was unfortunately only mediocre—decent in taste, but nothing special. What really disappointed us, however, was the service: My partner paid by card and left no tip, while I was rummaging through my bag for change to add some more. The waiter, however, immediately left without a word, without a thank you or a "goodbye," apparently assuming he wouldn't get a tip. This came across as very rude and left a bad overall impression.

We came here for dinner and had Himmel & Äd – simply delicious! We particularly liked the fact that our individual requests were immediately accommodated. The value for money is truly excellent. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere – we'd love to come back!

Watch out: Tourist trap!!! Bought two beers at 14 euro in total but had to pay 20 as I paid with my bankcard. The waiter claimed bankcard minimum is 20.

A great place to enjoy a typical sausage/ham hock/meat dish accompanied by homemade sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, washed down with a good local beer. Large capacity and efficient service. Well-located in the old town on the banks of the Rhine.

Altbier pub with a musty charm. The food is only mediocre.

The restaurant is quite nice. You can sit outside, but it's extremely loud. It's also in the heart of Düsseldorf. There are lots of people from everywhere, and loud music is playing. The food wasn't that good. The Brauhaus plate was missing something, but after I complained, it was brought back later, but on a small plate. Another dish was cold. The price/performance ratio was far too high.

Hello, we reserved a table for three people for a Thursday by phone. The lady on the phone was very nice and knowledgeable. The reserved table was large, clean, and in a great location. The waiter came and took our orders without much of a wait. The food was really good and the prices were reasonable. The waiters could have been friendlier. But the highlight came around 8:00 p.m. There was some fantastic live music. You could even request songs, and they would play them. Over the course of the evening, we got to know the lady who had taken the reservation. Extremely charming and friendly, she went from table to table and spoke to the guests. She made us feel welcome. Thank you for the lovely evening at the "Brauhaus zum goldenen Ring."

The staff is friendly, and the place is nice. My Leberkäse (meat loaf) wasn't particularly tasty, but the potatoes were good. And my Fanta was a bit weak. The price for the food was OK, in my opinion, but I found all the drinks a bit expensive.

Last Saturday, the participants of the European meeting of SIE (a global network with NGO status) thoroughly enjoyed their time at the Golden Ring. From the pork knuckle to the salad plates, the food was delicious, the service very attentive and witty in a typical Rhineland style. THANK YOU for the pleasant atmosphere after a long day at Meerting.

I really can't understand the negative reviews. We had such a wonderful evening here. Very friendly, fast service, and super delicious food. We had the rump steak, the fish, the schnitzel, and the potato pancakes. Everything was excellent, and any special requests were met very kindly. When we ordered another espresso after we had already paid, we even got it on the house. A warm, wonderful restaurant, with beautiful decor inside and a fantastic view and atmosphere outside. Thank you so much, we will definitely come back🙏🏼❤️

Great historic restaurant with real German food and beer. Great chef and lovely Italian waiter. Large terrace and rooms for groups. Children's dishes on request of excellent quality. Great Kassler and salmon.

The famous pork knuckles from Germany! There were, of course, other dishes, but I have not had a pork knuckle in years. Is gluten friendly restaurant labeling which dishes are gluten free. Fantastic! The meal was very good. All the food was delicious. The restaurant is nested in a very popular area. Recommend making reservations for larger parties. The warm apple strudel is a must. Full bar with nice selection. Definitely give them a try if you are in Dusseldorf and want traditional German food.

We visited the Golden Ring for the first time last night and were delighted by the pleasant atmosphere. We immediately felt at home, and what was supposed to be a short visit turned into four hours. The staff is very friendly, and the food is excellent. Highly recommended.

Extremely unfriendly waiters; one colleague's fries were sometimes still cold inside; the waiters were more concerned with talking about the customers than with serving them. Unfortunately, not recommended.

Unfortunately, our group of about 10 people was turned away by the staff member because the "clientele" was not welcome. (No reason (behavior or comments) was given that would have justified a rejection. Attached is a picture of the group. (No club shirts or similar.)

Today was the Bridge Run, and some participants even dared to leave things on the outdoor tables to prepare for the run. Even though the restaurant wasn't even open yet, an incredibly unfriendly employee chased everyone, young and old, away with harsh words. As a Düsseldorf resident, I will never stop here and advise everyone not to ever do so.

Extremely unfriendly waiters. Last Friday (May 2nd, 2025) we were there at 6:30 p.m. When entering the restaurant there was not even a greeting answered. Waiters were extremely rude and in a bad mood, not to mention the cleanliness of the restaurant. Never again!

Unfortunately I have to say that we are not satisfied with the goods. I had the knuckle and unfortunately I have to say the best thing was the sauerkraut. The knuckle was not crispy and the fried potatoes were not crispy but very soft. My wife had the herring dish and the potatoes were lukewarm.

I love the atmosphere here, there have a table inside is perfect under cool weather. Love Schinken-Schweinehaxe - speciality of the house, but i can’t finish the mash potato, i am addicted with sauerkraut. The sausages also tasty. Very good place to enjoy the food and drinks

Typical Düsseldorf tourist pep. €31 for a Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad. It was OK but not worth the price. You can get better at every Austrian mountain pasture.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to the “Im Goldenen Ring” didn’t impress me. The atmosphere was a little louder than expected as the waiters didn't always have the quietest voices and the restaurant wasn't full. My main course, Himmel und Äd, left a lot to be desired. The flöns were fried, which is an absolute no-go for me, and the onions also seemed dry and fried. In addition, the compote was on the same plate, which didn't suit my taste. Even the mustard didn't convince me. I would have liked a fine Mostard. It could be that other guests enjoy the food here, but for me it is clear that I will not come here to eat again.

We were only here for a few alts. Very comfortable, very nice service!

Very traditional brewpub. Somehow we managed to pick a quiet night so the atmosphere was lacking. However the service and beer were great. Not the best pork knuckle I have had but very tasty - lots of fat to impart flavour but the skin was chewy rather than crisp.

Pure history upon entering. Decoration that immerses you in Germany. Very attentive waiters. Very very delicious beer. We ordered the sausage plate, with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, a classic.

Rude waiter, got angry because according to him as a family we ordered 4 cokes instead of 3. Oh, and after that we could only pay in cash. The neighbors, however, were allowed to pay by card. The joke of the day.

Food was tasty, service a little less so. Some servers were friendly, others not at all. It was quite busy (Christmas market?), and not everyone seemed focused. Asked for mustard 3 times, eventually went and got it myself. Alcohol beer given to someone who requested alcohol-free. Staff shortage?

The atmosphere is nice, but the food is very mediocre (lukewarm weak potatoes, tough meat). If you don't give a huge tip for that reason, a subtly dirty comment is made, the debit receipt is thrown on the table and the waiter walks away without saying anything.

Only went in for drink but it is a lovely bar and restaurant with nice interior, had a oberbrau hell lager which was lovely probably the best beer I tried in Germany, staff very friendly.

Definitely not recommended to eat here. They can't handle a little pressure. Food was brought in parts and some things were simply forgotten. In addition, a number of dishes were cold, tasteless and worn out. And big prices were asked for all this. We will never come here again

Went there for the Christmas party Not all tables occupied about 2/3 full. Waiter a bit unfriendly rather annoyed. As for the food...my food was bad or insufficient for a brewery. A knuckle was ordered, with fried potatoes, sauerkraut and beer sauce on the side. The fried potatoes were poorly fried and sometimes wobbly. The delicious sauerkraut was floating in the sauce, which was no longer good. To the bone... One of the worst things I've gotten. positive.. the meat was tender and tasty which is not surprising because they are pre-cooked. The rind was crispy to a length of 2cm and the rest had something like pork knuckle in it. Things were no different for my table neighbors. My food went back and I was happy to forego a substitute. Great food, good price-performance ratio.

It was a great evening, the service was quick and top, the food was extremely tasty. The steak was perfectly on point. Only the side dishes were a bit small in portions. At first I thought it was just me, but three other colleagues discovered the same thing for themselves. Beer was tasty. The rest was great. The schnitzel was better portion-wise. Dessert was very tasty. But unfortunately also necessary to get full.

Despite a confirmed reservation, we had to wait about 20 minutes at the entrance on Saturday, November 30th, 2024. The reservation was not noted there. We were then shown to a table after about 10 minutes. After waiting at the table for about 20 minutes, we still weren't served and then left. If there are not enough staff, you should not fill every seat. It's very annoying when you waste an hour waiting unnecessarily on a Saturday evening.

In the afternoon we wanted to reserve a table for the evening. On site we were told in a cheeky voice that reservations were no longer possible but that we should just come along. When we arrived there in the evening we were turned away with the words "Access only with reservation." Too bad...

The place was nice. I went will my colleagues. They had limited vegetarian/vegan options. But they managed to suggest a vegan curry, which turned out to be pretty fine. :)

The place is nice, with German food and almost no vegetarian options, great beer (pils from the tap); nice location in the city center, nice atmosphere. A bit pricy.

Perfect service, short waiting times. Ideal for large group dinner

We went here during the Medical Fair and it's one of the few places we know we can go to without a reservation. We only waited 15/20 minutes for a table. Very good food and beer. I recommend shin which is the strong dish! Also good cutlet. Longer than average waiting times but with a beer it goes away.

Unfortunately disappointed...waited too long for the food, even though we were the only ones there to eat, the food was lukewarm, warmed up rather than freshly made. Not recommended...

I visited at 8 o'clock on Saturday and was told that it was now closing. However, other customers were seen coming in after placing their orders. He was unfriendly to Asians and couldn't even order beer at all. The employees here are racist against Asians.

Reserved by phone on October 27th, 2023 for December 8th, 2023, we get there and unfortunately our reservation cannot be found. Anything could happen, but the way we were treated there defies description. Whether we were in the right restaurant, etc. No word of apology, no attempt to make it possible for us to eat there, just very bad staff. Since there are probably too many customers calling here and the employees aren't taking action, they now have a few fewer customers. It's a shame, we actually always enjoyed being there.

Under all guns. The restaurant was only half full. Many of the tables were no longer occupied and when we asked if we could order something, we were told that if we didn't make a reservation, we couldn't be served. (The photos are from our visit, around 9 p.m.).

Staff completely overwhelmed & unfriendly. Food was ok. There were pat answers to orders or queries. Long wait for drinks & food. Bowling alley available - everything ok. Overall unfortunately disappointing.

Unfriendly and inattentive service.

Seit nunmehr 10 Jahren bin ich stolzer Bewohner von Düsseldorf und frequentiere regelmäßig sowohl die Altstadt als auch andere Stadtteile mit Begeisterung. Doch nach meinem letzten Besuch, insbesondere in diesem Restaurant, wird es wohl mein letzter hier gewesen sein. Das Essen war durchschnittlich, aber was den Service betrifft, war dies schlicht katastrophal. Dieser Eindruck schien nicht nur uns zu begleiten, sondern auch einer anderen Gruppe Gäste. Es ist bedauerlich, dass ein Ort mit einer so großartigen Lage durch einen derart mangelhaften Service beeinträchtigt wird. Schade, dass diese Erfahrung den positiven Eindruck der sonst so lebhaften Stadt trübt.

Sehr gutes Essen und absolut genialer Service. Sehr empfehlenswert, jedoch preislich auch eher etwas gehoben. Aber im grossen und ganzen hatten wir einen sehr schönen Abend.

Ich schreibe wirklich fast immer super Rezensionen aber was ich hier erlebt habe war echt daneben. Wir haben für 85 Personen reserviert. Service war mega langsam, ständig keine Getränke, ein Pils für über 9 EUR???!!! Das Essen hat auch ewig gedauert, weit über 1 Stunde für eine Pommes und war absoluter Durchschnitt. Majo Tütchen dazu für 1 EUR! Und ab 22.30 Uhr gab es gar nichts mehr zu trinken, bezahlen hat für 7 Leute über 30 min gedauert und um 23 Uhr wird dicht gemacht. Und das als Brauhaus in der Altstadt Freitag abends. Haben massig Beschwerden aus der Gruppe erhalten. Da wird wohl keiner mehr von uns hingehen. Sorry 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wer es mag, im Freien zu sitzen kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten. Mitten auf dem Burgplatz kann man hier schattig sitzen und den Platz beobachten. Die Bedienung ist sehr locker und umgänglich. Es gibt hier unfassbar leckere, krosse Schweinshaxen. Zu mäkeln hätte man höchstens an den Beilagen, denn das Sauerkraut ist mindestens zwanzigmal warm gemacht und entsprechend versalzen. Die Preise sind sicherlich am oberen Rand des Erträglichen.

Für ein 0,5 l Bier über 9 Euro schon krass Einmal und nie wieder

Ein halber Liter Warsteiner Bier kostet unglaubliche 9,10 EUR. Das Essen war lecker, aber nichts besonderes und die Aufnahme der Bestellung lies sehr lange auf sich warten. Mein Schnitzel war einseitig leider zu lange gebraten und verbrannt. Zukünftig nicht mehr. Besonders der Bierpreis ist eine absolute Frechheit!

Absolut nicht empfehlenswert y Wir haben über 90Min auf unser Essen gewartet, dann kam teilweise die falsche Bestellung - Reaktion war patzig. Flasche Wein kann man nicht bestellen, aber Weinschorle schon ?!

Das war so gemütlich , fiel Platz, wo wir säßen ( war Klimaanlage) Essen war gut ,für Eden Geschmack, aber gute Deutsche Küche noch ... An den Koch liebe Grüße! Und ❤Dank !

Das Essen war gut und der Service freundlich. Soweit alles gut. Leider gibt es kein Bier einer Düsseldorfer Hausbrauerei.

Das Essen war leider nichts besonderes, ließt sich auf der Karte sehr gut, schmeckt aber eigentlich nach nichts. Ungewürzte Kartoffeln und Pommes. Die Pfifferling-Rahmsoße, die es zum Schnitzel gab, hat nach nichts schmeckt. Die Getränke haben sehr, sehr lange gedauert für Altbier-Verhältnisse. Der Kellner Kevin war aber sehr bemüht und wirklich freundlich.
