Far too crowded and absolutely not recommended for women (harassment is ignored by waiters), unfriendly staff

Sexual harassment seemingly normal. I visited the Kurzer with a larger group of friends. At the beginning we had a nice evening, which over time turned into a nightmare. You quickly notice that the waiters' main concern is to make as much profit as possible when the second question after sitting down is what our limit is. Embarrassing... After the mood brightened a bit, we noticed a group of older men, in their mid-30s, throwing disgusting looks at young women within our group. We ignored this at first, but over time the inhibition level continued to decrease. We witnessed them filming and taking photos of women aged 18-19 from our group. As if that wasn't disgusting enough, they also groped them and reacted indignantly when spoken to and as if they had done nothing and didn't want anything from 17 year olds. We complained to the bar staff. A young man with black curly hair told us that if we had no evidence we should leave and not stop the operation (Given our intention to simply spend a quiet, undisturbed evening there, we of course make up the story so that we can spend the evening with ourselves to argue with YOU???). Instead of confronting the men or addressing the photos, he complained about why we were so upset (which is a surprise when you've just been sexually harassed). As a climax, he then said he was not responsible for what happened in the bar. Does that mean, in the reverse principle, that you can do whatever you want? Rarely have I seen such an incompetent person. If you ever read this, think about what you would have done if this were your girlfriend or daughter. That was the first and last time in a nutshell. It's crazy how something like this can happen in "DER" bar in Düsseldorf.

5-0 for our Fortuna and then in the evening we lost. Great atmosphere, top waiters (Hanner and Phili) and super fast service. 95 ole!

Everything started very relaxed. Delicious two beers on a Sunday. I was traveling with three friends. We got to the shorter one around 8 p.m. And what can I say? Anyone who meets Philipp will certainly not be disappointed. Not only does it put you in a good mood, it also always provides you with the best hop torpedoes in the city, just in time. We quickly asked ourselves why the beer was tapped so perfectly. You really have to say that Hanner not only gives his all at the tap, but also has really quick hands during the process. Service on Sunday so 10/10. Unfortunately there are only 5 stars, otherwise there would be significantly, significantly more. If I had more cash on me, it would all be invested in this store. Anyone who hires such friendly and committed employees must either be the right hand of God or simply a very correct dude (and a good businessman who aims to make money for little people). I will always come on Sundays or during the week when Philipp and Hanner are in charge here. Like I said 10/10. Ps. Toilet experience also stable 8/10 (men's toilet)

Mood 1000/10 Place to be in Düsseldorf Philipp and Hanner are the best waiters! Heinrich-Heine only became famous because he sang about them both! More than unfriendly service, overcrowded, poorly organized and unhygienic toilets, for which you have to pay on top of the already comparatively high prices. Conclusion: Not worth it! As a shop that supposedly wants to cater to a young audience, it is more than questionable when it comes to dealing with long-time guests. The cliché is true here: anyone who waves bills is taken seriously. Absolutely weak for a supposedly “young” brewery.

Nice place to have traditional beer Altbeer. This is not like traditional breweries, but the atmosphere is very good.

Good vibe is there for sure. But what bothers me is that they accept CASH only. Why?…… A huge turn off.

For me, the taste of the home-brewed Alt lies somewhere between the Urieger and Schuhmacher breweries, so it's a happy medium. There were at least 3 service staff running around, but drinks only came twice when called Unfortunately, the sanitary area is not clean. But very important for me as a woman

Die Hausbrauerei hat ein klassisches Kneipen Flair mit jungem und sehr freundlichen Personal. Das Bier kommt gewohnt schnell im Brauhaus und schmeckt sehr gut. Zu essen hatten wir verschiedene Burger, die es hier zu sehr fairen Preisen gibt und gut geschmeckt haben.

The prices can really only be described as outrageous. Almost €5 for a few sips and almost just foam in a tiny glass. If even restaurants have a much better price-performance level, an uncomfortable bar shouldn't dare to charge so much money for beer they produce themselves. A meter of beer costs almost €35, which is just audacious. You will then find out the prices when you pay, as there is neither a board nor any other price lists. What you end up paying probably depends on the mood of the waitress. I don't understand how people still get lost here given the circumstances.

Location könnte noch etwas gemütlicher gestaltet werden, ansonsten gutes Bier - Service teilweise etwas überfordert, man kann das entspannen in dem man direkt am Tresen bestellt. Ansonsten könnte die ein oder andere schlechte Bewertung wohl auch daher kommen das man sich sehr aktiv gegen Menschen mit rechter Gesinnung ausspricht :-) Gerne wieder! Gulaschsuppe war auch lecker.

I was there for a scavenger hunt, I was kindly helped with my question about the brewery and of course the beer was great too. I was traveling alone, that was the challenge for this scavenger hunt, but I quickly met nice people from Spain. 😘 A great place to be alone, not alone. 👍 And the beer was gone in no time 🤣

Be very careful with places that only accept cash, like this brewery. They give you coins that look like Euros, but they don't. Pay close attention! They are scammers!!!

Algo así como un hipster pasando el rato en la microcervecería. Justo en el corazón del casco antiguo de Düsseldorf, y tomó mi fantasía como parecía interesante. Elabora su cerveza vieja en el lugar, que puedes ver si vas a la parte trasera del bar, y realmente interesante de ver. Hace hamburguesas y como la comida, pero nunca comió aquí. La cerveza era realmente bueno y puedo recomendar encarecidamente.

I've always loved the Kurzer, great beer, great atmosphere. But when we had dinner there (and left a lot of money), we wanted to order a bottle of water - without “warning” us, €12.50 was written on our lid. We asked—surely that had to be a mistake? No, it wasn't a mistake: €12.50 for a 0.75l bottle of water in less time. I understand that water is more expensive in a restaurant, but 1. this is a pub and 2. this surcharge is just outrageous and a complete rip-off: almost 1500% more expensive than in the supermarket, what's the point? Really, big disappointment, no more short for me.

Pleasant audience. Good and friendly service. However, the prices are relatively high. In the later evening hours it becomes very crowded and crowded.

Must try Altbier brewery in the center of Düsseldorf (Alstadt). Delicious beer and compared to the other traditional altbier brewpubs in the town, Kürzer seems to be a bit more relaxed and informal. In the evenings it gets lively and crowded with cozy tables and constant altbier flow.

We liked it. Interior is kept simple, no flowers, no frills. Drinks were at the table quickly, service was very relaxed and relaxed. Gladly again.

We were there again briefly after a long time. But it wasn't an edification: the toilet is unkempt (it used to be!) and for €2.60 you get a 0.2 liter old (!!!!), although our glasses didn't even have a calibration mark. The short end is over for us.

Prices are fair, although if you have a thin wallet you will unfortunately have to bring a short fuse. As Farid Bang, the German philosopher, said: Bangers live shorter lives!

What I appreciate most about Bar Kurzer is that they don't have the 'bouncer N..zi policy', which is unfortunately still common practice in North Rhine-Westphalia. Everyone is always welcome here, no matter what their name is or what color their skin is and there is never any stress! A role model for NRW when it comes to relaxed, multicultural, communal celebrations! I thank the owner for this attitude. Otherwise, the audience here is really very casual, relaxed and in a party mood. It's easy to get into conversation with other guests and so far I've always had a very fun evening here. That's why it's always my first choice when I visit friends in the Ruhr area...

Phew, where do I start? I generally enjoyed going there, I left a lot of money there, of course only cash for years ;). But now the waiters are so unfriendly, it's way too full, you're pushed from left to right, you can't move an inch and the waiter yells at you to move to the side, otherwise you'd be thrown out. So that's how you deal with paying customers okay. At the same time, you are being groped by old men and as a woman you can hardly defend yourself in the crowd. Can't understand the hype anymore and won't be coming back.

Great store. If you want to party or are looking for a good mood, this is the place for you.

Was there for a birthday on Saturday. Basically, I have nothing against the location and its Altbier, but I think the store is more than overcrowded. If something happens, you don't have to be surprised afterwards. It seems quite normal on the weekend that the bouncer no longer has an overview of the store. Celebrating in a relaxed manner looks different.

I'm used to Bavarian beer. That sour beer didn't do any good the next morning!! Had stomach!!!! :((((

I've been in the shorter one a lot of times. Last time, I was really annoyed at the end. Today I was partying here with a friend for 3 hours. Suddenly we were kicked out because we were behaving strangely. When asked, there was no concrete explanation. It was also not acknowledged that new arrivals to the pub were causing stress. The waitress had more to do with the new ones than with and. But what should you do when it's 2 guys against 1 other guy and 3 girls!? Normally an would evaluate the situation and then make a decision. Here a decision is made as to who will speak first.

A big place with good foods and 2 very own beers, good nice staff and lots of place to sit. Also a nice place to have a few beers alone, only cash!!

A nice brewery. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. The guests were very open-minded, friendly and in a good mood. We were there on an evening when there was little going on. We had a lovely evening.

The “Brauerei Kurzer” was a place to go for a great evening on several occasions. The shop has a great charm and you can look at the kettles and brewing utensils inside, at the end of the dining room. The Alt is super tasty, has a very special touch and, in my opinion, is one of the best Alt in the city. Here you can spend a great time in a pleasant pub atmosphere.

One of my must go brewpubs in Dusseldorf is Brauerei Kurzer ,always have a great time here and so our latest visit proved . I love the look of this brewpub, multi roomed,a very cool looking serving bar, eclectic decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this brewpub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Kurze Straße. We ordered their own brewed beer ,served in pristine condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular brewpub. A big fan of this beer ,packed full of flavour, bursting with taste, so easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in Brauerei Kurzer ,hardly surprising that this brewpub is so busy with beers of this quality. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Brauerei Kurzer we had a great time. Brauerei Kurzer is easy to locate along Kurze Straße. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday, open from 3pm. Saturday, open from midday. Sunday, open from 3pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area .

Erste Mal in Düsseldorf, auf Empfehlung hier her gekommen, 1,5 h vor einem wichtigem Termin. Fazit: nettes Ambiente, grauenhafter Service, Bierpreise astronomisch! Wir haben 50 min. auf Flammkuchen gewartet, auf Anfrage gab es nur "kommt gleich" ... Wirklich schade und ärgerlich das Ganze. Gestresst und nervös wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass das Essen später kommt. Leider, leider keine gute Adresse!

Brauerei Kürzer (Brewery Shorter) is one of the many breweries we went to on our four day trip to Düsseldorf.This superb brewery and pub offer's superb beer's and a really good food range and was one of the many pubs/bars and restaurants me and my twin brother visited in Düsseldorf. This superb brewery has a brilliant interior with white plastered walls and brick-walled areas and there brewing equipment which is on prominent display.There are excellent seating areas throughout it's whole interior and it was a joy to visit. We went to Brauerei Kürzer on a really cold day in the evening and it was very busy but we didn't have any problem getting served in here.On our visit we had a few glasses of Kürzer Altbier which were brilliant and very well priced considering the beer's we were having and the brewery we were in. A superb brewery and pub thats located in a superb area of Düsseldorf and very easy to get to from Heinrich-Heine Allee U-Bahn stop its a short walk.(This is my 1st review of Brauerei Kürzer). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-15.00-01.00. Friday-15.00-03.00. Saturday-12.00-03.00. Sunday-15.00-01.00. Public Transport. U-Bahn Stop. Nette kleine Hausbrauerei. Optisch und Ambiente eher alternativ. Bier war lecker und der Kellner flott mit einigen guten Infos. Etwas abgerockt , aber ganz in Ordnung... Ansonsten gern wieder

An underrated brewpub in Düsseldorf. Finished the night here after hitting the four big breweries in town. Needless to say, I drank a lot of Altbier. A younger, more vibrant crowd here than at any of the more traditional establishments, the menu is also more modern. But the Altbier is traditional and delicious, with the rich malty flavor you expect and it comes just as quickly as other pubs in town. A lot of fun and a nice surprise. A must-visit in my opinion!

Coole, nahezu immer volle Szenekneipe mit vernünftigen Gästen und nettem Personal. Ein Manko sind leider die Toiletten. Egal zu welcher Zeit man kommt, sie sind immer total versifft, stinken und sind wirklich eklig. Zwischenzeitlich ist der Laden meines Erachtens auch zu voll, sodass man sich gar nicht mehr eigenständig durch den Laden bewegen kann, sondern wirklich nur geschoben und beispielsweise gegen den Tresen gequetscht wird. Das müsste ein wenig reguliert werden.

Es geht um die kürzer Bar . Wurde von einem sehr penetranten Mann weggedrängt , und das Personal Tat nichts , wirklich Frauen freundlich ist der Laden nicht. Könnte auch ein Einzelfall sein . Ambiente super 👍🏽

Gegessen haben wir nicht. Aus 1 Bier wurden 4 oder 5 :D. Tolle Atmosphäre und aufmerksame Servicekräfte. Wenn wir wieder Platz finden, sind wir nochmal dabei :)

Coole Location, kein typisches Brauhaus, sondern eher ein Szenetreff.

Wir hatten vorab reserviert, für 10 Personen wurde uns ein Tisch für 6 Personen angeboten. Anders als versprochen, wurde uns auch auf Nachfrage kein zweiter Tisch zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Musik war so laut, dass man sich nicht mal mit seinem Sitznachbarn unterhalten konnte. Die Toiletten waren alles andere als hygienisch - und auch viel zu wenig für die Anzahl der Gäste. Das man im Jahr 2023 nur mit Bargeld zahlen kann ist auch nicht gerade ein Pluspunkt. Das einzig gute war das Essen: es war lecker und auch der Preis stimmt. Fazit: Als reine Besäufnis-Stätte ist das sicher in Ordnung. Für alles andere sollte man sich doch eher eine der schöneren Bars in der Nähe suchen.

Sehr gute Kneipe in der Düsseldorfer Altstadt. Und das Hauseigene Bier ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr netter Laden mit schönem Ambiente, Bier schmeckt super, Service lässt nur sehr zu wünschen übrig. Leider genehmigte sich ein Barkeeper das Trinkgeld mehrfach selbst, indem er ungefragt einfach zu wenig Rückgeld zurück geben hat. Das versauert einem schon ein wenig den Abend. Man kann hier definitiv einen super abend haben, aber passt auf und lasst euch nicht übern Tisch ziehen.

Hier habe ich im Rahmen der Altbier Safari das Bier genießen dürfen. Schmeckt echt gut und ist zu empfehlen. Sehr netter Service, aber das Ambiente ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Super lively place for the Aftbeer, the one from Düsseldorf. They serve you nonstop until you cover your glass. They serve you 200ml Glasses and just accept cash. We went on a Monday and was surprised to see how crowded and lively the bar was, quite amazing. Located in the downtown closed to the river Rhine is a great location. I heard the weekends are crazy crowded.

Loved the atmosphere here. Managed to find the last table on a busy Friday night, but would recommend booking in advance if you can, as it was standing room only. Excellent service & altbeir, plus the food was great too, and good value for money - really enjoyed the chorizo & the jackfruit burgers and the fries were v good. Highly recommended! 🍻

Jung, Alternativ und Studentisch - das alles kann man ohne weiteres Anführen, wenn man an die Brauerei Kürzer Denkt. Die jüngste Brauerei der Landeshauptstadt besticht durch eine Mischung des ehrlichen Biergenusses und dem leichten Charme einer Jungen studentisch geprägten Szene. Klare Empfehlung für diesen Ort des Biergenusses!

Uriges Ambiente, leckeres selbstgebrautes Alt

Ich war letztens mit Freunden im Kürzer. Eine tolle Location mit guter Musik, jedoch auch mit teurem Bier und sehr unfreundlichem Personal. Mehrmals wurde Kunden mit dem Rausschmiss gedroht, wenn sie nicht sofort mehr Getränke bestellen, während diese noch dabei waren, ihr bereits gekauftes Bier auszutrinken. Weiterhin fordert ein Kellner mit einer Kappe Kunden dazu auf Trinkgeld zu geben, ohne ihnen die Chance zu lassen, es selbst anzubieten. Kunden wurden auch, durch provokante Kommentare unter Druck gesetzt (nicht zu vergessen, ist es eine Frechheit, sich als Kellner über nicht genug Trinkgeld zu beschweren, wenn doch schon mehrere Meter bestellt wurden). Ich würde persönlich zwei Sterne geben, wenn es dabei geblieben wäre. Dieser Mitarbeiter hatte jedoch ein ausgesprochenes Interesse daran, die 1 Sterne Rezension einzusacken. Der Kürzer ist ein sehr gut besuchter Laden, mit wenig Platz. Es ist total verständlich, wenn es mal für die Bedienung schwierig wird ihrem Job nachzugehen, jedoch ist das kein Freiticket dafür Kunden, mit dem Ellenbogen voraus, aus dem Weg zu schubsen. Ich habe miterlebt, wie ein Kellner eine junge Frau (gerade mal halb so groß und wahrscheinlich 40 kg leichter, als der Kellner) aus dem Weg schubste, um dann diese aus dem Lokal zu werfen. Diese versuchte sich nicht umschubsen zu lassen. Es wurde seitens der Kundin nicht geschubst! Das Hausrecht steht den Mitarbeitern zu, jedoch ist es inakzeptabel, wenn einerseits Kunden derart schlecht und respektlos behandelt werden und andererseits diese alle zehn Minuten einen neuen Meter kaufen sollen. Keiner hat das Recht irgendwen derart zu behandeln, Insbesondere Kunden nicht, da ohne die, ein Laden wie der Kürzer nicht überleben würde. Ich rate somit leider jedem davon ab, den Kürzer abends zu besuchen und da >20€ pP. für schlechten Service auszugeben.

Großes Lob an David !! Es war einfach abnormal voll, wir standen draußen etwas abseits und er kam regelmäßig gucken ob wir noch Bier haben. Hut ab, bei dem enormen Stress am Samstagabend den Überblick zu behalten.
