Sehr gutes Bier. Location ist völlig abgerockt. Immer vorher aufs Klo gehen. 😉

Die Brauerei Kürzer ist seit über zehn Jahren mein absoluter Lieblingsort! Die Atmosphäre hier ist einfach unschlagbar, super gemütlich und extrem einladend. Was diese Brauerei so besonders macht, ist das tolle „Multi-Kulti“-Konzept – hier gibt es absolut keine Diskriminierung, jeder ist herzlich willkommen und die Stimmung ist total offen und tolerant. Das gesamte Team und die Mitarbeiter sind bemerkenswert nett, schnell und immer gut gelaunt. Das hier frisch gebraute Altbier schmeckt fantastisch und ist super lecker. Zudem bietet die Location richtig viel Platz und weitläufige Bereiche, sodass man hier auch mit großen Gruppen perfekt feiern und tolle Abende verbringen kann. Für mich die beste Brauerei überhaupt, absolut verdiente fünf Sterne!

Das Bier war besonders gut. Die Atmosphäre in der Bar war jedoch zu lebhaft, ziemlich laut und chaotisch.

Eine sehr authentische Brauerei; hier kann man 13 Biere im Metermaß recht günstig bestellen. Traditionelles Düsseldorfer Bier in angenehmer Atmosphäre mit freundlichem Personal!

Ein fantastischer Ort mit perfekter Atmosphäre – ich kann ihn jedem nur empfehlen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett.

Ich gehe immer wieder gerne in diese Bar. Total hip. Ich komme schon seit der Eröffnungswoche 2009 oder 2010 hierher. Leckeres Bier und die Brauanlage ist echt cool. Bei diesem Besuch (unserem etwa 20.) fiel mir auf, dass die Barkeeper, bis auf einen, sich gegenseitig mit ihren Schnurrbärten und ihrer Coolness bewunderten. Nachdem wir 15 Minuten vergeblich auf ein neues Bier gewartet hatten, sind wir gegangen. Wir kommen wieder, aber in Düsseldorf 15 Minuten ohne Altbier zu warten, ist eine Ewigkeit.

Coole Kneipe in einer angenehmen Seitengasse der Altstadt. Das Alt ist sehr dunkel und herber, aber sehr lecker! Das Publikum ist etwas jünger und sehr entspannt, genau wie das Personal, die das Alt immer schnell nachgeben :)

Nette Atmosphäre und angenehmes Publikum. Leider erscheint mir ein Altbier für inzwischen 2,80 € für 0,2 Liter sehr teuer. Was mich sehr stört ist, dass im Jahre 2026 nur Barzahlung und keine bargeldlose Zahlung akzeptiert wird. Darüber hinaus scheint es üblich zu sein, dass zu später Stunde kein Rückgeld vom Personal gegeben wird. Ich bestellte an einem Freitagsabend 2 Altbier á 2,60 € und gab einen 10 € Schein. Wechselgeld erhielt ich nicht. Auf Nachfrage, wo denn mein Wechselgeld blieb, wurde mir mit ernster, fast aggressiver Miene das Rückgeld gegeben, ohne sich zu entschuldigen.

Ich habe die Brauerei in Flingern besucht.Das Alt schmeckte mäßig. Die anderen Sorten noch schlechter, wobei das Weizenbier der Tiefpunkt war. Schade um die Zeit, die es gekostet hat, diese außerhalb des Zentrums gelegene Brauerei zu besuchen.

Das Nesthäkchen unter den altstädter Brauereien brilliert mit einem bemerkenswert würzigem Altbier. Die Speisen sind schlicht, jedoch auch qualitativ hochwertig. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und überaus freundlich. Hier verweilt man gern!

Leckeres Bier. Schnelle Bedienung. Genau wie gebraucht und erwartet.

Am beeindruckendsten ist hier die Verschmelzung von Brauprozess und Raumgestaltung. Brauanlagen aus Edelstahl, Rohre und Reihen schwarzer Bierfässer sind direkt sichtbar, ohne dass versucht wird, sie zu verstecken. Dieses Design ist nicht nur dekorativ; es vermittelt unmissverständlich: Das Bier wird hier tatsächlich vor Ort gebraut. Auch die Raumgestaltung ist ein Highlight. Das Kürzer geht nicht den traditionellen Brauhaus-Weg mit dunklem Holz und historischen Wandmalereien. Stattdessen setzt man auf freiliegende Backsteinwände, Anlagen im Industriestil, minimalistische Holztische und eine leicht rustikale Formensprache. Die Atmosphäre wirkt insgesamt etwas Undergroundig, aber dennoch gemütlich und trifft damit perfekt den Geschmack der jüngeren Generation. Der Star des Hauses ist natürlich das Altbier. Das Altbier des Kürzer ist typisch Düsseldorf, aber leichter und spritziger. Es hat eine schöne Bernsteinfarbe, eine feine und dichte Schaumkrone, eine ausgeprägte Bitterkeit und Röstmalzaroma am Gaumen sowie einen klaren Abgang – perfekt, um es immer wieder zu genießen. Insgesamt vermittelt mir die Brauerei Kürzer das Gefühl eines „Übergangspunkts zwischen Tradition und Moderne“. Sie leugnet nicht die Geschichte des Altbiers, sondern interpretiert sie auf zeitgemäße Weise neu. Es herrscht weniger Ritualismus und mehr Freiheit; weniger Distanz und mehr Alltagsnähe.

Samstag Abend konnte man drinnen nicht mal stehen, auch keine Kartenzahlung - ansonsten okay

Einfach eines der besten Altbier! Schön zu sehen, dass auch neuere Brauereien Erfolg haben! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

After pizza at Colopic, I always enjoy a beer at the Kürzer brewery! Delicious beer, friendly staff! What more could you want?!

The waiter was incredibly unpleasant, explaining that he was hungover and wouldn't take any complicated orders. He then ordered Düsseldorf beers for all of us and, upon arriving, told us that none of us were clever enough to free up the table for him to put down his tray. We drank our beers and decided to leave. The waiter asked if we wanted anything else. We told him no, and he asked if it was because the beer tasted like something. In short, the service was unbearable; this bar is best avoided!

I feel comfortable here, whether I come alone or in company!

No card payments – cash only. This should be standard practice, especially since the pandemic, but Kürzer still offers 90s-style service. Outdated. Still unchanged in 2025.

Kürzer Brewery is a quaint, picture-perfect establishment right in the heart of Düsseldorf's Old Town. The service is attentive, quick, and pleasantly old-fashioned in its approachable manner. First-time customers ordering an Altbier there might be momentarily puzzled. The glass keeps refilling itself until you explicitly tell it to stop. After a while, you'll understand the system. It's less of a drinking suggestion and more of a highly efficient method of beverage logistics. In the evenings, they settle the bill using a tally sheet, which works surprisingly well. An Altbier costs €3.40, which is on the pricier side, especially since experience shows that one glass is rarely enough. The only slight drawback is that they only accept cash. Why this is the case remains a mystery. It certainly provides ample material for theorizing about creative business practices. All in all, it's a charming, lively spot for anyone wanting to experience Düsseldorf's Old Town culture in its purest form and who doesn't mind managing cash and empty glasses at a rapid pace.

We just stood outside. But the atmosphere was great, the beer arrived quickly, and most importantly, the beer was good. We had both the old and the light. We preferred the light. We were very satisfied.

The bouncer randomly refuses entry even though your group is inside and you were only outside to smoke. Great venue, bouncers, weird guys.

You must go here. It is a fine altbier brewery with an excellent range. The vibes are perfect, the music playlists are inspiring, the setting is beautiful. This is a jewel in the crown of Düsseldorf. It's cash only so go to the bank first.

Das Bier ist mit seiner Bitternote und dem leicht malzigen Geschmack und minimaler Rauchnote grundsätzlich nicht schlecht. Die Qualität ist leider recht wechselhaft und nicht konstant. Am Ende Ok, denn es ist ja Handwerk und anscheinend für das Brauhaus OK. Konstant ist aber auf jeden Fall die unfreundliche und unprofessionelle Bedienung. Cool aussehen ist nicht alles und abgestandenes fast warmes Bier mit einer Selbstverständlichkeit auf den Tisch zu rotzen ist einfach nur erbärmlich und unangemessen. Literweise abgezapft gammelt es hinter der Theke vor sich hin bis ein armer Wicht es holt. Auf Nachfrage wird es dann durch hin und her aufgeschäumt. Schmeckt aber nicht besser. Der Laden ist ansonsten „cool“ wenn man den abgerockten Stil gut findet. Saubere Gläser und aufmerksameres Personal wäre aber besser. Da ist Luft nach oben. Fast so viel Luft wie im Schaum vertrocknet.

Alt was solid, but the waiter (I didn't catch his name, unfortunately) was incredibly unfriendly, and it was clear he simply didn't want to serve younger people (17-19 year olds), although we weren't loud or rude or anything like that. We sat at our table and chatted among ourselves. He didn't seem so unfriendly to other guests.

We reserved a table there during our team trip and were standing at the front of the bar when we arrived. We were then greeted. Some of us still had drinks in our hands. I was then asked if there was anything left in the can and I said yes. The man then brazenly snatched the can out of my hand and simply emptied it. I don't know what was wrong with him, but you could have just politely asked to drink the can outside. This was done to the others too. Simply snatching drinks out of people's hands and throwing them away for which you paid money is just really crap! This could have been handled differently. Now let's come to the waitress, whom I politely asked to wipe down the tables because they were simply dirty... and her response was: "Why, the tables are clean." I was simply speechless at how easily this was dealt with. All in all, I can only say that in my opinion the place has simply failed in many respects. From reception to service to customer satisfaction, it's zero.

Düsseldorf's best and most modern Altbier. Late at night on weekends, it's almost impossible to get a seat; in summer, the outside seats are very popular. Meters of beer are available, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Antonio the Wesh kicked us out because we were drinking water and hadn't ordered a meter. A few of our friends ordered at least 6-7 beers, which together cost at least 20 euros. Despite these circumstances, we were kicked out after several arguments with Antonio.

Actually an environment I like, but I have to admit that I think their Alt is worse than others I've tried, so the rating will be average.

I'm here for the clean glasses. Never have!!! , as often happened elsewhere, received a lipstick-smeared glass. Beer tastes good. Waiters/waitresses are usually friendly. Well, music... you have to like it or tolerate it. 👍

The store has a pretty Ballermann-like atmosphere. If you like a loud atmosphere and enjoy a young, party-loving crowd, this place is for you. The bald head bartender doesn't work at all, totally aggressive for nothing, but the young waiter, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was very friendly and attentive.

The Kurzer pub definitely has potential: the Altbier is fresh and tasty, the location in the middle of the old town is great, and the atmosphere is usually relaxed. However, there is one big negative point that significantly spoiled the stay: the toilets. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities were extremely dirty and smelled unpleasant. For such a busy pub, it really needs to be cleaned more often. Especially in a place where people drink a lot, you expect at least a minimum level of hygiene. It's a shame, because with better toilets and a little more cleanliness, Kurzer could be a really good address. So unfortunately it only remains a mixed visit.

Shortly before Carnival (5 days before), the brewery didn't think it was appropriate to enter the pub wearing a costume. In my opinion, no social behavior towards carnivalists. I didn't know if it was just the bouncer's action or the brewery's.

Sexual harassment seemingly normal. I visited the Kurzer with a larger group of friends. At the beginning we had a nice evening, which over time turned into a nightmare. You quickly notice that the waiters' main concern is to make as much profit as possible when the second question after sitting down is what our limit is. Embarrassing... After the mood brightened a bit, we noticed a group of older men, in their mid-30s, throwing disgusting looks at young women within our group. We ignored this at first, but over time the inhibition level continued to decrease. We witnessed them filming and taking photos of women aged 18-19 from our group. As if that wasn't disgusting enough, they also groped them and reacted indignantly when spoken to and as if they had done nothing and didn't want anything from 17 year olds. We complained to the bar staff. A young man with black curly hair told us that if we had no evidence we should leave and not stop the operation (Given our intention to simply spend a quiet, undisturbed evening there, we of course make up the story so that we can spend the evening with ourselves to argue with YOU???). Instead of confronting the men or addressing the photos, he complained about why we were so upset (which is a surprise when you've just been sexually harassed). As a climax, he then said he was not responsible for what happened in the bar. Does that mean, in the reverse principle, that you can do whatever you want? Rarely have I seen such an incompetent person. If you ever read this, think about what you would have done if this were your girlfriend or daughter. That was the first and last time in a nutshell. It's crazy how something like this can happen in "DER" bar in Düsseldorf.

Everything started very relaxed. Delicious two beers on a Sunday. I was traveling with three friends. We got to the shorter one around 8 p.m. And what can I say? Anyone who meets Philipp will certainly not be disappointed. Not only does it put you in a good mood, it also always provides you with the best hop torpedoes in the city, just in time. We quickly asked ourselves why the beer was tapped so perfectly. You really have to say that Hanner not only gives his all at the tap, but also has really quick hands during the process. Service on Sunday so 10/10. Unfortunately there are only 5 stars, otherwise there would be significantly, significantly more. If I had more cash on me, it would all be invested in this store. Anyone who hires such friendly and committed employees must either be the right hand of God or simply a very correct dude (and a good businessman who aims to make money for little people). I will always come on Sundays or during the week when Philipp and Hanner are in charge here. Like I said 10/10. Ps. Toilet experience also stable 8/10 (men's toilet)

More than unfriendly service, overcrowded, poorly organized and unhygienic toilets, for which you have to pay on top of the already comparatively high prices. Conclusion: Not worth it! As a shop that supposedly wants to cater to a young audience, it is more than questionable when it comes to dealing with long-time guests. The cliché is true here: anyone who waves bills is taken seriously. Absolutely weak for a supposedly “young” brewery.

For me, the taste of the home-brewed Alt lies somewhere between the Urieger and Schuhmacher breweries, so it's a happy medium. There were at least 3 service staff running around, but drinks only came twice when called Unfortunately, the sanitary area is not clean. But very important for me as a woman

Die Hausbrauerei hat ein klassisches Kneipen Flair mit jungem und sehr freundlichen Personal. Das Bier kommt gewohnt schnell im Brauhaus und schmeckt sehr gut. Zu essen hatten wir verschiedene Burger, die es hier zu sehr fairen Preisen gibt und gut geschmeckt haben.

The prices can really only be described as outrageous. Almost €5 for a few sips and almost just foam in a tiny glass. If even restaurants have a much better price-performance level, an uncomfortable bar shouldn't dare to charge so much money for beer they produce themselves. A meter of beer costs almost €35, which is just audacious. You will then find out the prices when you pay, as there is neither a board nor any other price lists. What you end up paying probably depends on the mood of the waitress. I don't understand how people still get lost here given the circumstances.

Location könnte noch etwas gemütlicher gestaltet werden, ansonsten gutes Bier - Service teilweise etwas überfordert, man kann das entspannen in dem man direkt am Tresen bestellt. Ansonsten könnte die ein oder andere schlechte Bewertung wohl auch daher kommen das man sich sehr aktiv gegen Menschen mit rechter Gesinnung ausspricht :-) Gerne wieder! Gulaschsuppe war auch lecker.

I was there for a scavenger hunt, I was kindly helped with my question about the brewery and of course the beer was great too. I was traveling alone, that was the challenge for this scavenger hunt, but I quickly met nice people from Spain. 😘 A great place to be alone, not alone. 👍 And the beer was gone in no time 🤣

Algo así como un hipster pasando el rato en la microcervecería. Justo en el corazón del casco antiguo de Düsseldorf, y tomó mi fantasía como parecía interesante. Elabora su cerveza vieja en el lugar, que puedes ver si vas a la parte trasera del bar, y realmente interesante de ver. Hace hamburguesas y como la comida, pero nunca comió aquí. La cerveza era realmente bueno y puedo recomendar encarecidamente.

Modern and youngest brewery in Düsseldorf's old town. Delicious Altbier. Certainly the mildest beer in town. Very sweet in taste. Matching the name...the shortest glasses in the old town.

I've always loved the Kurzer, great beer, great atmosphere. But when we had dinner there (and left a lot of money), we wanted to order a bottle of water - without “warning” us, €12.50 was written on our lid. We asked—surely that had to be a mistake? No, it wasn't a mistake: €12.50 for a 0.75l bottle of water in less time. I understand that water is more expensive in a restaurant, but 1. this is a pub and 2. this surcharge is just outrageous and a complete rip-off: almost 1500% more expensive than in the supermarket, what's the point? Really, big disappointment, no more short for me.

Must try Altbier brewery in the center of Düsseldorf (Alstadt). Delicious beer and compared to the other traditional altbier brewpubs in the town, Kürzer seems to be a bit more relaxed and informal. In the evenings it gets lively and crowded with cozy tables and constant altbier flow.

We liked it. Interior is kept simple, no flowers, no frills. Drinks were at the table quickly, service was very relaxed and relaxed. Gladly again.

We were there again briefly after a long time. But it wasn't an edification: the toilet is unkempt (it used to be!) and for €2.60 you get a 0.2 liter old (!!!!), although our glasses didn't even have a calibration mark. The short end is over for us.

Prices are fair, although if you have a thin wallet you will unfortunately have to bring a short fuse. As Farid Bang, the German philosopher, said: Bangers live shorter lives!
