I had one of the best beers of my life here. Their altbier was life changing. The lemon salmon with rice and veggies was good as well. I wish I could have visited town longer to go here more than once!!!!

Good restaurant in Düsseldorf's old town. Located somewhat out of the way, therefore removed from the general hustle and bustle. Price performance good.

I was there for lunch. I had the sauerbraten. The portion was generous and traditionally prepared. Was very good!

It's not one of the altbier breweries despite what Google Maps says, so a really awkward "I just want a beer" interaction just now when choosing a table when not too busy. It's a restaurant not a brauerie.

We were there a few days ago. I don't want to say anything about the cleanliness of the guest room. The food may be good, but unfortunately not at all value for money. For example, I had fried salmon fillet. Both the basmati rice and the vegetables that came with it tasted so much like fish. The salmon wasn't particularly tasty either. Then 30 euros for that?.. The younger waiter is very committed and really nice. The other two older waiters could really take a lesson from their colleague. The appearance of a female audience alone was too positive for one of the older waiters. Very unpleasant! All in all, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant!

Authentic German food. We were guided by a German friend and he introduced us to the most typical dishes. We loved them all, especially the goulash and sausages. The snitzchel is a little worse but because I compare it with the Viennese which is something different. An excellent white wine too.

Eating in a very authentic, very large brewery was a different experience. Local beers are quite delicious. Also, pork ribs and sausages are successful. Despite the crowd, the service quality is quite good and fast.

An authentic restaurant with a lot of history. The service is very good, the staff is smiling and kind to children. The food is delicious and well presented. It is good to make a reservation because the restaurant is quite full in the evening.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, but the place is terrible in terms of people. Had to stop in front of the store today because my 5 month old baby was crying because he was hungry. Dad stopped with an obvious stroller and I fed our little one. He wanted to chase us away, even though the shop wasn't even open yet and we clearly weren't there for a picnic. He came towards us so angry that the little one became very restless. When we asked him repeatedly what the problem was and when we repeatedly pointed out that we were only feeding him, he ran away cursing and shouted that we should leave as soon as the little one was up. If the host behaved like that, no matter how good the food was, I would never like it! He probably came from mom's womb as an adult and probably doesn't have any children of his own... And I know that there are other clientele in a big city, but we don't look like that (yes, that's not a guarantee but an indication) and No matter who, you can talk to everyone sensibly and not run towards them screaming!

Napoleon ate here after a batle back in 1811. The skin on the pork knockles is like crispy gold. The gravy on the sausage will perish all enimies. The Mezzo mix drink will tingle your senses. Need I say more.

Very nice restaurant in Düsseldorf's old town. I can recommend the restaurant from the Düsseldorf main station (note: currently the restaurant in the main station has nothing to do with the kitchen and the restaurant in the old town, the restaurant in the old town is a lot better than in the main station - if there is a boat, then in that old town) The food was super tasty and the portion was more than enough. The service was very attentive and friendly and the waiting time was very short. I felt very comfortable there and would love to come back.

Pfifferlinge (special mushrooms) are in season so we tried two Pfifferlinge dishes, one with veal one without, each in a creamy mushroom sauce. Personally I found the sauce slightly bland. Bill for two dishes and four Alt beers came to €49,00. Service friendly and o enjoyed the historical element - Napoleon drank here, see the corner display. Started off outside, whipped inside when the storm deluge arrived!

Quaint German restaurant in Düsseldorf's old town. At the beginning we were the only guests there in the afternoon, which was a bit strange in this rather large location. The waiter was as you would expect there. The schnitzel was okay, the sauerbraten was very hard, really tasty and plentiful. The Alt tasted good, even if it was “just” the Frankenheim. We found the price-performance ratio to be a bit too high. Still good.

The food is boring and also the people working there are not friendly

The food was outstanding - the Rhenish Sauerbraten was a delight. However, one waiter was grumpy, dissatisfied and, despite our presence, extremely rude to his colleagues. However, they were all very accommodating and friendly.

Quiet place and good food at reasonable prices

The ambience was nice as we sat outside and had the old town feel. The service was also nice and accommodating. However, I can't stay very positive when it comes to food. I ordered heaven and ahd and got what appeared to be fried black pudding with mashed potatoes, apple compote and fried onions. Unfortunately, the fried onions were not homemade and purchased. The mashed potatoes and apple compote, on the other hand, were very tasty. However, the black pudding was fried all over (which is not possible with a round sausage), so I assume that it was made in the deep fryer. However, this made it really greasy. The real hit, however, was when the waiter put a pot of ABB mustard on the table, but there was no ABB mustard in it. It was the usual industrial mustard that tastes like nothing and isn't even spicy. For me, this borders on a rip-off, in which poor tourists are completely duped and think that this is what the Düsseldorf ABB mustard tastes like! (By the way, ABB mustard is a protected brand, which is why no other mustard should actually be offered in the pot!) When I asked if they had the right ABB mustard, the waiter asked, but unfortunately I was disappointed. However, that wasn't all. In the middle of the night I was overcome by such heartburn from the greasy blood sausage that the night ended for me at 4 a.m. and I was only able to get the heartburn under control with the help of two tablets.

Food was better. Service inattentive.

Reservation worked well. Solid food, but definitely in the upper range in terms of price. Drink selection good, but the wheat could have been colder. The service wasn't particularly friendly and it felt like it was one of the first breweries where you had to ask for more drinks. 3 benevolent stars and not an unreserved recommendation.

A wonderful authentic place, delicious dishes, it is convenient to come here for dinner with partners during a business trip.

The best years are over! The ambience and furnishings are old-fashioned and no longer appealing. However, if the waiter shows such a lack of interest towards the customer, then this is very unfortunate. We decided to leave the restaurant after a drink and eat somewhere else.

Great tradional restaurant with great service and food.

We visited the boat in the hope of drinking a few beers and eating something. It was well attended, if only because of the Drupa, I erased the guests from the photo. Nevertheless, Köbes only managed to bring us two beers within 45 minutes. When I wanted to pay, he first asked if we would like anything else, to which I said...not anymore. He apologized, saying he was new.

My business partner made a reservation and I visited. There were a lot of Japanese people there, so it was so delicious that you can understand why it was so crowded! ! The service was courteous and I waited there before my partner, but it was nice that they didn't make any unpleasant faces.

The pork knuckles is the most popular of the dishes there. The skin is nicely crispy. The meat is tender. There is also some nice history which makes this restaurant more appealing.

Great shop. This restaurant has a history of 400 years and was visited by Napoleon. It tastes good too. I was able to make a reservation via email.

As expected, there were lots of people and the food was good, as expected. I visited at 18:00 and there was no waiting. There may be a wait when you visit around 19:00, so come early before it gets crowded. Most people eat Schwein Hakse, but if you haven't tried it, try it and get recommendations as there are many other dishes.

First of all if you want to go you need to have a reservation, otherwise you will wait for hours in the queue. The place is very crowded and noisy. Some of the waiters are nice and some are rude. For the food we had the schnitzel some of the plates were ok and the other were oily and did not taste good.

After a few years, I visited this famous restaurant again. This time there was nothing but disappointment! During the dinner rush hour, I waited for 15 minutes before ordering after I was seated. The food came about 20 minutes after ordering. When I asked for the check, I waited another 10 minutes for the bill. The place was so noisy that I had to raise my voice when talking to people across the table. Let’s talk about the food. When ordering, I asked the waiter whether a certain main dish was pork or beef. He said veal was highly recommended. However, the pork chop came with the seasonal white asparagus that was overcooked. My wife's salmon meal came with a pile of white rice. It was probably the most disgusting rice I have ever eaten in my life, and the vegetables that were paired with it were too soft. At the end of the checkout, the waiter asked for a tip and wanted to give some change, but the waiter pointed to the 5 euro note in our hand and asked us to give it to him. In order to leave quickly, we had to pay 5 euros. Overall, this dining experience was very bad and we will not go to this restaurant again!

Extrem unhöflicher Kellner und peinliches Verhalten, da wir nicht wussten, dass es leider nicht erlaubt war, mit Kreditkarte zu bezahlen. Nachdem er uns ausgeschimpft hatte, holte er unter lautem Gemurmel ein Zahlungsterminal, damit wir bezahlen konnten. Was genau war also das Problem? Nie wieder...

Dussel's representative restaurant, said to have been visited by Napoleon😊 I ate the sausage dish and it was delicious, and the triple combination of sauerkraut and mashed potatoes went well together.

Had a drink on the terrace outside. Service could have been a bit nicer, but service was quick and drinks were good. An old brauhaus on the inside with character. Nice to take a look inside and experience the atmosphere.

Unfortunately, I'm not one for a big lump of meat with fat on it... Of course the meat is tender, but no taste sensation. Some typical German food. The atmosphere raises the rating. And the excellent service. Then Germany is a bit special... 2022 and almost impossible to pay by card..... Only cash 💵👎...

I‘m not sure why everyone is not that friendly, but the beer tasted good. You Can Try experienceat on your Own. We got a wrong drink after waiting several minutes. Not for groups.

Did I have bad timing? When I ate Haksen before Corona, the taste, friendliness, and atmosphere were all good... This time, For some reason, there weren't many people in the restaurant... I should have just come out then..... The inner flesh is thick and the outer skin is hard. Why is the amount so large?... I can't leave it behind. There wasn't. The male employee was so unfriendly, wondering if something bad was going on, that it seemed like he was being racist against Asians... In the end, I had to pay in cash because my credit card didn't work... and it was the worst. From now on, we will eat Haksen at another restaurant.

We were there with 10 people spread over 3 generations. The service and the food are awesome. The traditional ambience is nice but you have to like it. A little revision in one place or another to bring the brewery character more to the fore would certainly be good. But all 10 were very satisfied with the starter and main course and the waiter was great.

Unfortunately, the only table available was near the entrance door and so we suffered a bit from the cold every time we opened the door (they have curtains as a screen but they are not very effective). Dishes The restaurant offers typical German dishes (e.g. shank) well cooked. There is not a wide variety and I was also expecting a greater selection of beers. Service Given the size of the place, the waiters run around a lot and there was no particular attention to the customer. I had to get the waiter's attention several times before he came to the table. Price In line with German prices and for a city home to many international fairs. 85 euros for two for 2 main courses, 4 medium beers, two coffees and a dessert.

I tried to eat at this restaurant. They made us wait half an hour at the entrance even though there were several empty tables. Another half hour at the table without anyone coming to take the food and drink order. Being close to the kitchen pass we could see waiters totally in a ball who didn't know which dishes to take away. Dishes that remained on the pass for tens of minutes and a waiter who took food from the dishes on the pass to eat them. I don't know if it was a bad evening but disorganization reigned supreme. Finally, tired of waiting, we got up and left without having taken anything.

Positiv ist, dass das Personal auf Zack ist; allerdings die Bestellungen quasi im Vorbeirennen aufnimmt und damit auch einiges durcheinander bringt. Meine Rouladen waren leider nix. Pappsosse, Kartoffelbrei mit ganz komischer Konsistenz und auch das Fleisch nicht wirklich lecker. Eigentlich ein uriger Laden, aber es wirkte wie Massenabfertigung in der SB Skihütte.

AVOID! Terrible TERRIBLE service and mediocre food. Probably hands down the worst service I've ever experienced. We waited 80 minutes for our food. No one checked or asked if we needed more drinks nor explain the wait. Now, we were a big group but over an hour is unacceptable. When it finally arrived, the food itself was generously portioned but was over cooked and dry, and generally rather unexciting. But the service! More accurate to call it the opposite of service, the disservice was horrendous. When the bill came, very glad we checked because they overcharged by adding an extra imaginary mains that we challenged and he reluctantly conceded. One of the waiters knocked my head in the temple with his elbow when he was clearing the table - no apology. A second waiter dropped food on me with no apology just a mutter - I jumped up and wiped off the red picked cabbage from my black trousers. I accepted these as a 2 unpleasant but separate innocent accidents. I was wrong. The next time the second server came up from behind to clear plates I was ready and moved well away from the table but then, this is the unbelievable part, he _swerved_ as he lifted the plates so that they nearly touched my cheek then bumped my head with the underside of the plates. Awful and vicious and completely unnecessary. Napoleon may have frequented this restaurant back in the day, but I do not recommend it. Do not go here unless you like being ignored while waiting for boring food and being mistreated!

Located on the next street from Rhein, in Hafenstrasse near the St. Maximilian Church, very nice furnishings, very rustic, we enjoyed the first sun in April on the street gastronomy and just wanted to have a quick drink, 5 hours later true as full and that Thirst solved. Staff very attentive and friendly, food was very good, both ours and what was brought past us. (I only heard positive things)

A historical monument with the characteristics of a quaint beer house. Many dignitaries, celebrities and movie stars have dined here. The food is plenty and the special meals are very good.

Beautiful typical restaurant in the old town of Düsseldorf. We had great service and were well served. The beers and the food were good. Everything fitted. The sauerbraten was great, the schnitzel was fine. The frying oil has probably been used too often. The restaurant was well attended and the brewery was full from 8 p.m.

Quaint restaurant with lots of charm. Absolutely delicious food, which also came quickly. But then nothing more happened. The service just wasn't there anymore.

Having been to the Schiffchen for many years every time I come to the city, with the same waiter, at least one Altbier and the Hausmanns (oder Frau) Küche and daily specialities such as Frikadelle mit Moehrengemuese, Königsberger Klopse, Sauerbraten etc. I was aghast do learn that the centuries old building will be demolished during the next couple of months to make way for a modern hotel. Das Schiffchen will move to somewhere am Rheinufer (near the water tower) to an existing pub with garden. To open apparently on 1 July 2024 exactly the same day that the Euopa Football Cup is in Düsseldorf and the Fanmeile is exactly there where ‘the little ship’ will be located. I hope the waiting staff will be well-paid that day.

Famous taste house. It is difficult to reserve dinner with a companion of 5 or more. Most restaurants in the city do not book a large number of people during the exhibition period. Traditional school buses, assorted menus, beer and drinks are all good. Cabbage pickles were particularly good.

I always have a meal here when in Dusseldorf.

Πήραμε παραδοσιακά γερμανικά πιάτα. Δεν ξερω αν τελικά τα δικά τους πιατα δεν ήταν καλά η αν εμάς δεν μας αρέσει η γερμανική κουζινα - είμαστε Έλληνες- αλλά πραγματικά ήταν ανοστα, άγευστα, αδιάφορα. Ο χώρος δεν ήταν κακός. Είχε αρκετό κόσμο κυρίως ντόπιους.

I think the restaurant, the furnishings and the ambience are really nice, but the service seems rather less organized (but very friendly). The food (in my case: kale with Mettwurst) was okay, but not very warm and quite expensive. Portions pleasantly large.

Ein herrliches schönes interessantes Restaurant oder besser gesagt Brauerei. Das Essen zugegeben etwas angehobener Preis aber sehr gut sehr lecker. Die Mitarbeitenden sind alle zuvorkommend zum Teil sehr witzig. Die Lage ist auch top in der Altstadt so dass sie gut erreichbar ist. Also sollte ein Besuch unbedingt mit eingeplant werden.

Locale tipico molto affollato e rumoroso. Nonostante la gran confusione ci hanno dato un tavolo rapidamente ed anche il servizio è stato veloce. Lo stinco top, la cotoletta nulla di eccezionale. Consigliato

Tipico locale dove si beve una buona birra locale. Forse lo stinco non è il migliore di Dusseldorf ma va bene così! Buonissimo lo strudel di mele!

Es ist in Etwa so gewesen, wie auf dem Foto, mit dem der Google-Beitrag illustriert ist: Ziemlich rustikal, und ziemlich leer (was der etwas ungünstigen Nachmittagszeit, zu der wir hier waren, zuzuschreiben sein mag). Das Essen und das Alt schmeckten aber, und besonders teuer kam es mir auch nicht vor.

أقدم مطعم في دوسلدورف.. المنطقه اللي حوله حلوه للتمشيه وكنا نبي نجرب اكل الماني ع الأصول فرحنا له وجربنا شوربة البطاطس و طبق السالمون مع الرز كانوا طيبين اما الحلى اللي بالصوره عادي

Leider war es ungemütlich kalt im Restaurant und von der Toilette kam Klosteingeruch.....schade müsste mal wieder renoviert werden?

Richtig gutes Brauhaus mit typischen Gerichten und nettem flottem Service.

Wir waren gestern im Schiffchen und wurden wieder mal enttäuscht. Das Wienerschnitzel kostet 31,50 EUR und ist die Enttäuschung pur. Eine vor Fett triefende Panade die stellenweise angebrannt war, dazu ein Hauch von Preiselbeeren im Miniglasschälchen auf dem sich schon eine feste Haut gebildet hatte vom länger stehen und Pommes. Einen Salat mit Hähnchenstreifen für 18,50 EUR ist ebenfalls völlig überteuert, vor allem wenn man die Hähnchenstreifen suchen muss. Das dazu gereicht Brot sah auf den ersten Blick gut aus, war es aber nicht. Nach dem ersten Bissen stellt man ernüchternd fest, dass das ein Billigbrot aus dem Discounter sein muss und nicht ein schmackhaftes Landbrot wie man es in einer Brauereigaststätte erwarten würde.... Immerhin die Bedienung war freundlich und immer zur Stelle. Aber die kann ja nichts für die Verfehlungen im Einkauf der Produkte und der schlechten Küche....

Das Essen war gut aber nicht sensationell. Der Service war prima und es ist ein klassisches Brauhaus

Came here for the pork knuckles like most people. It didn't disappoint. Since we were with a big party, 9 people. They gave us two shared platters instead of individual plates. The skin of the pork knuckles is very crispy and the meat is a bit dry, but still ok. The schnitzel were recommended to us, but it was just ok, not very delicious. The rest of the dishes on the platter were just average. If you haven't already had pork knuckles before in Germany, I'd recommend just getting that. The staff were friendly, but didn't understand English very well. But we managed.

Είχα μεγάλες προσδοκίες για το συγκεκριμένο εστιατόριο, διαβάζοντας τις κριτικές. Δυστυχώς δεν μου άρεσε και τόσο. Τα φαγητά ήταν άνοστα, ζαλίζεσαι από τον κόσμο και την φασαρία. Επίσης δεν ήταν και πολύ καθαρό. Το σέρβις είναι γρήγορο και ο Αποστόλης πολύ ευγενικός.
