As always, it was a great evening with good food, delicious beers and a great waiter!

I went to this place for dinner at 6 p.m., there were several tables available, the lady who served me told me that the kitchen was closed even though the establishment said it was open until 8 p.m., but she let other people in after I left. I noticed that only Germans were allowed to enter. I believe I experienced a racist episode in Dusseldorf. This restaurant should be boycotted. Mir fiel auf, dass nur Deutsche eingelassen wurden. Ich glaube, ich habe in Düsseldorf eine rassistische Episode erlebt. Dieses Restaurant sollte boykottiert werden.

The Wiener Schnitzel was good, but the Bratkartoffeln on the side were too salty and soggy. Rabbit Gulasch and Rotkohl were good, the Semmelknödel unfortunately was way overcooked. Service was good by German standards.

The German brewery cafes generally have a nice atmosphere. Tasty German, and that's what we want when we visit a city in Germany. This German atmosphere was good at Im Golden Kessel, but it was perhaps a bit boring. I think it could have been more atmospheric and cozy. Unfortunately, the service was not particularly friendly. Not bad either, but quite stiff. Not very cordial towards customers. We had a great table, very spacious. This was reserved but we were able to sit there for more than 2 hours before the group arrived. My wife and I both ordered a beer. To our surprise, there only seemed to be 2 on the menu, apart from the non-alcoholic beers. The choice was between a Schumacher altbier or an 1838. We both ordered one so we could compare. The Schumacher altbier was the tastiest of these. A full body and good taste. The 1838 was really very light and, despite the 5% alcohol, there seemed to be hardly any alcohol in it. We also wanted to eat so we both ordered the Wienerschnitzel with 'bratkartoffeln' (fried potatoes). You get a large plate with 2 large schnitzels, a portion of well-fried and tasty baked potatoes plus salad with, among other things, sauerkraut. Everything was very tasty, and everything tasted good. The waiter also asked if we wanted mayonnaise or ketchup with it. Here we opted for the mayonnaise, which turned out to be homemade. This was also very tasty. The price for the beers was very cheap compared to Dutch standards. The dishes may have been a bit more expensive, but you certainly got your money's worth in terms of quantity.

At Christmas time I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday with 20 people in the Kesselstübchen of the Goldener Kessel. Food, service and ambience were excellent. Thanks to Frank Wackers for the organization and to Nico for the great service that evening. Gladly again.

We just had a drink there. Typical brewery atmosphere. What I liked was that when we noticed that the glasses were never filled to the top, the waiter brought us a beer on the house to refill the other glasses. Top

Unfriendly, barks at you. Seen that the service is eating fries from the plates that still have to be brought to the guests! A father who went to the ladies' toilet with 2 daughters was insulted and had to go to the men's toilet. Just had a few drinks here and that was enough.

Real German conviviality... not so. We came for a drink in the evening, but were quickly told in an unfriendly manner that we were sitting at the wrong table. No problem, we will move the group to another table. I know how a German brewery works, but I was still surprised that you can choose between altbier... oh yes and altbier. When two of us asked for a coke, we received it with rolling eyes. The waiter didn't really feel like listening either, because while ordering he was talking and joking with other guests. We did our best to order in German, which went fine, except for one word we said in English. That was enough reason for the waiter to show very theatrically that he did not understand anything and repeat the German word three times, so that we would never forget it. Once we had our drinks, we went to play a game (game of Earthworms). That was completely out of the question, we had to be ashamed and put it away very quickly. What did we imagine in our heads in a restaurant? While we were sitting in the pub area, there were still more than enough empty tables and we continued to quietly drink a beer. Also truly German: debit card payments were only possible from 50 euros. In the end we laughed a lot ourselves, because the whole experience was completely crazy, that we didn't know what was happening to us. Don't worry, we ended up in a nice pub afterwards.

Terrible staff. Serves you a drink without you asking for anything and asks you to leave if you don't drink enough to their liking. An experience that makes you put the level of service in other establishments into perspective. To flee!

We had a reservation for 16 people during Médica, a huge pharma exhibition. And I think they take advantage of foreigners. They charge us 60 beers and I counted 32, because something similar happened to us a couple of days before. There is no way I missed 30 beers, but we could not complain. A lot of people only had one beer. Wrong way to make more money

I was in Düsseldorf for a few days for a seminar and went out to eat. Considering that in my opinion there isn't that much choice - just a brewery 😉 - it was very tasty. I had the meatball with fried egg. A colleague had the three potato pancakes which were very large and also great. I was amazed at how full it is/was even during the week. Service top.

If you are a big group take care with the beers, they are always overcharging the total number

Schumacher Alt beer is the best there is in Düsseldorf

As always, delicious old. And a meatball to cluck your tongue. Large, behind it many a chip shop can cut off a slice, and fresh from the pan. Yummy.

Were there with a foreign customer. Customer was thrilled with the service and the food. -Juicy food -Service on point and courteous -comfortable seating Highly recommend the meat platter with delicious side dishes as a group. As an individual, I like the dumplings with mushrooms We would be happy to come back with the next customer!

Unfortunately, Köbes is sometimes a bit off track and doesn't manage to deliver a new old one on a regular basis. That's on Oststr. 1000 times better.

Typical Altbier pub in Düsseldorf. People go there to chat, drink Altbier and eat something. I can recommend the pub to everyone

Saturday evening. A group of five men wants to drink an Alt. Our Köbe Pascal quickly brought one alto after the next, killepitsch and the venison goulash with red cabbage was fantastic. An evening that we would like to repeat. All in all a really nice and clean establishment. The food was great, the Alt was great and the Köbes was our man of the evening!

Very famous brewery in the city of Düsseldorf. To find a place you need to book well in advance. The interior is large and chaotic but pleasant. You can taste the typical specialties of German cuisine including pork shank. The staff is attentive enough but lacks human contact. German prices.

What a terrible tent. Service not friendly and the food was inedible. Spongy mashed potato balls that tasted and were like wallpaper paste in texture. I understand that it is difficult for 84 people, but the tent was a third full by us. So they should be able to handle this.

Waiters are friendly and motivated. The managing director (rather male in appearance from a distance) makes an unpleasant impression. She treats her guests rudely, condescendingly and with a very unfriendly tone. The whole way is absurd these days. Letting someone like that go to the front as CEO is a sign of mismanagement. Brewhouse culture trampled under foot. Who feels comfortable there as a guest and employee? This will be noticeable...

The brewery is a Düsseldorf institution and has the typical brewery atmosphere. In my opinion, the menu is quite manageable and at times the dishes are quite expensive. A pork schnitzel with fried potatoes for 22 euros is already expensive. Sure, you have to pay for the location in the old town, but the taste of the food is good, but not world class. My brewery meatball, for example, wasn't juicy at all, rather dry. The service was also quite slow, even though the brewery wasn't particularly busy. Nevertheless, you can definitely stop here for a visit to the brewery.

Great beer but atmosphere is not as the fun as the Schumacher location that was closer to the central train station.

Delicious Alt beer style is served here. With friendly Köbes. One of the best breweries in Düsseldorf. Highly recommend also to try the 1838'er beer too.

I've been to the Golden Cauldron many times. If you value a typical brewery ambience, then you've come to the right place. If you want good service and good food, probably not. The waiters are always pretty grumpy and sometimes really unfriendly. The prices for food and beer have also risen sharply

A wonderful, old-fashioned inn. Altbier and schnapps are drunk here! There's no shishi for food, just meat, non-vegetarian sauces (yes - even on salad) and hearty sayings when you make a fool of the Köbe! Quaint! You stand at wooden tables or sit down with strangers and come into contact. Very uncomplicated and truly Lower Rhine!

The waiter is rude and kinda racist. It seems Asian people are not welcome in this place at all. We are not local and we are not white, so what? Next time you should put a sign of ‘Asians not allowed’ if you do not want us there! And we will never be there

Very nicely decorated restaurant, in the middle of the longest bar in the world. Starters beautifully regional and delicious. The main courses were not too small, but not too much either, and tasty. We recommend. The service is quick and on point.
