Uerige in Düsseldorf

A nice traditional brewery. The waiters are a blow in themselves, but I think they're great! On summer days it feels like the whole of Düsseldorf and the surrounding area meets in front of the Uerigen 😅

One of the fun things to do in Düsseldorf is to drink Altbier. I always drink here or at Schumacher. All of the shops check the number of glasses consumed by drawing a line on the coaster. I tend to end up drinking too much before I know it, so I always make sure I'm hungry so I can drink a lot. This time I stayed a little too long and got completely drunk.

Charged us more than €20 for the water we had together with our beer. What a joke. Avoid.

Super inflexible and unsuitable for vegans or people with intolerances. And glasses are not completely filled.

Always just beautiful and always worth a detour.

The food is very good and the beer is delicious. The only detail that we didn't like at all is that they made us pay in cash, which we hardly had with us, the waiter told us to go to the ATM. A disappointment that today they do not accept card payments and that we had drinks and food and the amount was not a small amount.

There's no quicker way to bring beer to the table. Top!

We had heard great things about this place, and after visiting family in Paderborn we spent 2 days in Düsseldorf and just had to check it out! Thought it was such a cool vibe throughout. I don't drink alcohol, but my wife, brother and sister in law took advantage of some super quick service for their beers. Soft drinks are at a minimum (water or apple juice) but I'd 100% recommend the apple juice as it really was nice. Really loved looking around and I understand why the place is so big as we called back in on the evening and it was PACKED! Staff are friendly and happy honestly you're not waiting long for anything, even when jam packed.

Traditional house that doesn't actually need any evaluation. Despite it. Our Köbbes on Friday was super friendly. Unfortunately it was different on Saturday and there was a rough discussion with our Spanish neighbors. They now probably have a bad impression of Düsseldorf hospitality…

The Köbes is a unique and extremely quick-witted fellow who reigns unchallenged in breweries and pubs" ...that's what I've been used to since my youth and enjoy cozy evenings in the pubs in my home town of Düsseldorf. Unfortunately, what we had to experience on April 5, 25 in the Uerige was very unpleasant. After the first Köbes (he didn't deserve the term) only very reluctantly fulfilled his task of bringing beer, his Temporary successor Dennis (the name says it all) completely overstepped the mark and took the Uerige Altbier that had already been served off the table, just because we had “cheekly” asked for a second cover. Unbelievable and not particularly conducive to the mood on my birthday evening. That's enough for us for the next one or two years in the Uerige, in the hope of better and real Köbesse who ideally enjoy doing their job as usual... Fortunately, it still works in other home breweries in Düsseldorf. I recommend “Dennis” a new job at the Düsseldorf public order office, where he would probably thrive in his job, and perhaps his colleagues would be better off retiring….

Came here and was excited about the atmosphere. Ordered two 3.95€ beers and was told we could only pay cash, then proceeded to not give us change on 8€. I know its sounds petty, but as unfriendly as the guy was, he doesn’t deserve 0.10€

Even if it is always an experience, this time it was a very modest one and the choice of words is pleasantly worded and does not correspond to the facts. We ordered two drinks and were already standing at the counter and I thought the man was just pouring some more into a few glasses and ours would be taken into account too. To err is human, but at that moment I didn't expect it, the sentence: oh, can we get something else? was immediately dismissed with the words: don't bother, they're full enough! More full of foam than the contents of the delicious drink, which clouded my sense of taste and also diminished my experience. Conclusion of the visit Crazy to the power of 10. As a guest, I am happy to tip well for good quality and service and pay the value of the goods, none of which agreed here.

Incredibly bad!! Never experienced such unfriendly staff. You are loudly insulted across several tables because you order something other than beer. You won't even be asked if you want to eat something. Autocratic waiter who really treats the guests badly, so that several tables get up and leave.

We were there yesterday with the company. It's okay that the waitresses aren't friendly. A meal was forgotten, no sorry or anything like that. The carrot vegetable still had the plastic packaging in it. No sorry or a beer on the house or anything like that. A dessert to go with it Brauhaus would be nice, e.g. red groats. The only alcohol-free option is water or apple spritzer. As a driver, a classic Cola would be wonderful. My recommendation: a beer outside at the bar table: wonderful. But not anymore.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was rustic and typically Düsseldorf – exactly as expected. Unfortunately, I was charged for a beer on the bill that I didn't even get. Apparently so I could pay by card - even though I was under the minimum amount of €50. This seemed opaque and left a bad aftertaste. It's a shame, because the evening could have been wonderful.

The Köbes is usually in a good mood. The only disadvantage is that you don't get the beer 0.2L but less. Otherwise the best Altbier in my opinion. Outdoor terrace is close to the Rhine. Great in summer! Visited a few times in the last 10 years, a must in Düsseldorf!

The inside looked authentic and the beer tasted great. However, it needs to be said that the atmosphere is rushed and the food is not amazing. It also feels too touristy (unsurprisingly, coming from a tourist).

With so much joy we entered this restaurant where we were greeted by the coldest atmosphere in every respect. We felt very unwelcome, the food was terrible to say the least - inedible and cold, the waiter arrogant, rude and full of undisguised contempt. I would not recommend this pub to anyone.

The Uerige in Düsseldorf is always recommended. We have been coming here for years and enjoy the drinks and delicious food. The atmosphere is special. Very nice service with relaxed sayings. A rustic place where everyone will certainly feel at home.

Their beers are excellent, and the Frankfurter sausage was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is very local and has a nostalgic charm, which adds to the experience. Service is incredibly fast—you don’t have to wait long for your beer. They’ve come up with a practical system that ensures both beer and food are served quickly. Typical place, but different from the rest of Düsseldorf. Arrogant, no attention to customers. Only for drinking beer.

This pub was first mentioned back in the early 1600s. This place gets busy early and you just kind of have to grab a table fast when you see one available. Unfortunately we were not able to get a table inside but there is plenty of space outside. The beer is fresh and crisp and they also serve delicious traditional German food if you fancy a bite to eat as well.

Absolutely not recommended, no concessions to the dishes! I spoke to a nice gentleman beforehand over the phone, who assured me that the kitchen would be able to cater for smaller guests. But our waiter immediately dismissed this, saying that they didn't have any, just as it was on the menu! Apparently, there was no ketchup either, but strangely enough, they offered currywurst. Our waiter only had "stupid" remarks and came across as rather arrogant! Once and never again!!!!

Schnitzel and fried potatoes are frozen and then deep-fried. It's embarrassing. The knuckle was good.

I haven't tried the food, but the beer is very good and there is a very good atmosphere, plus it is in the center of Dusseldorf. I have seen several comments that they treat you badly if you are a foreigner but they have treated me very well. There are a lot of people and the waiters move quickly, but they understand perfectly and they change the glass until you cover it with the coaster, the menu is also in English. How in most places they prefer that you pay in cash.

Here you can get the delicious Uerige on tap. Food is also highly recommended, portions are ok, prices are a bit high. Unfortunately, there is little choice for non-beer drinkers. You won't find cola or lemonade on the menu. Always a must when visiting the old town!

Bier super lecker, Essen ist in Ordnung - Kellner sehr freundlich bis ich mit EC-Karte zahlen wollte - er hieß es, das nur Bargeld akzeptiert wird und dann ging es auf einmal doch - aber laut Kellner eigentlich erst ab 50 EUR. Have been yesterday, simply horrible, they don’t have still water , I asked even 2 times to realize this, if I think I had still water in tented camp at Tsavo reserve in Kenya and in the middle of Serengeti I can’t realize how a management can be so rude and stupid Stinky place but price is pretty ok

Traditional home brewery in the old town of D'dorf. The knuckles were a blast. Rarely have I had such good knuckles. The meat was extremely tender, the crust was nice and crispy and the taste couldn't have been bettered. Top! Price-performance: good Service a bit moody. But on Ash Wednesday it can be too😅 Ambience: great The Altbier is surprisingly good and drinkable. And even with the first sip! Gladly again!

We were there one day in the middle of the carnival and although there weren't many people inside, there was no room for anything on the street. Alexandros treated us brilliantly and explained to us that they had very few things on the menu but that, if it was worth it, they would give us dinner. What we ate was very good, a shame not to be able to try more things. Highly recommended

Came here towards the end of the night and was not disappointed. Altbier is not quite as tasty as the previous venue, but it's still good. Loved the atmosphere - lots of character. Service was good. Did not try the food. Warm welcomed and warm exit at the end of the night.

Are you racist? This is your place! Do you enjoy being treated like garbage for not being German? Look no further! Want to get kicked out for simply asking, “Can we order here?” Then congratulations—you’ve found the perfect spot. We came to have a few beers with friends, and somehow, the staff managed to turn it into a full-blown confrontation. No explanations, no logic, just pure hostility. It’s almost impressive how quickly they went from waiters to wannabe bouncers. Now, I respect all political beliefs, religious views, and even people who hate their jobs. But if you’re going to be racist, at least be smart about it. Overcharge us, shortchange us—something! But no, these guys decided to be both racist and incompetent. Pick a struggle. So, if you enjoy a side of discrimination with your drink, this is the place for you. If not, I’d suggest going literally anywhere else.

Come da titolo. Locale in stile birreria molto conosciuto (e storico) in zona. Accoglienza distratta a causa della massa di clienti. Locale diviso su varie sale, più o meno ampie, più o meno caratteristiche (con legno & C). Menù basico da birreria con i soliti 3 o 4 piatti forti ( stinco , cotoletta , etc ) Buona la qualità, valido ed abbastanza rapido il servizio. Prezzo medio 30/40 euro a testa. Vale un solo passaggio.

This is the restaurant that ruined my trip to Europe. Without giving me any prior notice, they threatened me to pay in cash and when I told them I didn't have any cash, they told me to go out and get a cash advance, so I wandered around and couldn't do it, so I came back and they said they would pay with a credit card if I added a 10% tip. It's so sad that such an anachronistic restaurant exists in Europe.

We stopped here for a short stop and drank 2 old drinks each. It was okay, the glasses could have been a little fuller. The service was on point, but a please and thank you wouldn't have hurt.

It is quite difficult to find a place, but the beers are very nice and the sausages are also delicious. Curry one is better. The concept is also very fun. You should definitely reserve a day and make a reservation because some of the tables are held until the reservation time.

The home brewery: feels like coming home! The Köbisse always have a casual saying! The food is simply delicious, there is also something delicious for vegetarians. And of course the alto, my favorite alto❤️

I have been to this place a handful of times now, the beer and atmosphere is usually very good but overcrowdedness on weekend is a major issue. The service is very delayed and on my last experience the server tried to charge us extra for 10 beers, he didn’t accept even after mentioning it.

I decided to stay in Dusseldorf for a few days on my way home from Norway as Dusseldorf airport is a major airline hub . This was pleasant, beautiful, and I had a beer and a tasty traditional pork knuckle dinner. It is full of classic scenes wrought in stained glass windows, comfortable chairs, and the service was polite. I saw that it was primarily full of locals, families and friend groups enjoying an evening. I understand that this is the oldest operating brewery in the city.

Maybe we’re just not used to it, but this place felt very disorganized. If you’re less than 6, you can’t make a reservation. They tell you to just go there. We did, but it was incredibly chaotic. You have to find a table yourself l, so basically if ‘fight’ with everyone else waiting for any table that is freed up. We also had to wait a very long time (1h +) for our food because of some kitchen mix up. Then at the end we found out we can only pay cash so we had to go to an ATM, although in the about section you see mentioned that you can pay by card. The food and beer were good, but the rest of the stuff kind of ruined it for us.

I visited this place while being on beer tour! 🍺 The outdoor seating at the back is such a cozy and relaxed area, perfect for enjoying their famous Altbier. The beer is smooth, refreshing. Nice experience in the summer!

This is a place where you continuously drink 250ml of something similar to strong dark beer. The food is also delicious.

Were here on a Saturday lunchtime for a two alt. We didn't see a single properly tapped beer. All were well below the calibration mark. The difference, if you apply the rule of three, 0.2 to 0.25 amounts to a whopping 40 cents that you are being cheated out of. Update January 25: still poorly tapped beer We had to specifically ask twice for a decent tap, which was then fulfilled. Sorry Ueriges, but that doesn't work

Personal nicht kompetent: Sie rufen Sie pfeifen und reagieren unhöflich. Am Ende des Essens bat ich darum, mit Karte zu bezahlen (150 Euro). Der Kellner sagte mir, wo der Geldautomat sei, an dem ich das Geld abheben könne, mit Kommentaren wie "in Ihrem Land lebt man nicht ohne Bargeld", und ich sollte anmerken, dass die anderen Leute an meinem Tisch im Restaurant warteten, während ich das Geld abhob, es bestand also keine Fluchtgefahr. Ich bin ein Universitätsprofessor, der zu Vorlesungen in ganz Europa eingeladen wird, und in London, Kopenhagen und sogar Rom hatte ich nie ein Problem damit, diese Gebühren mit einer Karte zu bezahlen, zumal wir im 21. Das Essen ist gut, aber ich warte immer noch auf meine Quittung, nachdem ich bezahlt habe. Die Besitzer sollten ihr Personal wirklich sorgfältiger auswählen, sonst würde es mich nicht überraschen, wenn die Leute, nachdem sie das Lokal einmal ausprobiert haben, buchstäblich auf die andere Straßenseite gehen, um einen höflicheren Service und mehr Zahlungsmöglichkeiten zu bekommen

Definitely the most traditional brewery in the city. The beer is much bitterer than the other beers, the menu isn't as big but everything fits together. A must-visit for every stay in Düsseldorf.

It was just like you would imagine a typical old pub to be. Without much fuss... Fast service, beer and the small side dishes were very good! Now I think almost 2.90 is quite expensive for an old one, but of course we will come back

Fui recomendado Uerige por un colega que conoce Dusseldorf al revés. Recomendó encarecidamente la cerveza oscura y la comida, Uerige no decepcionó. Estaba solo, pero me trataron muy bien por el personal y la comida era excelente y cerveza. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante para una experiencia genuina que se conecta con tiempos pasados. ¡Me encantó! They kept serving us their bitter brown beer but we didn’t ask for it.. Food was alright but they didn’t want to serve any other drinks than the beer which tasted horrible. Felt like a tourist trap..

Very rustic atmosphere, very drinkable beer, the waitress was a bit too businesslike for me and sometimes brought out a new beer when the first one was still a quarter full. The glasses are only three quarters full no matter how you turn or turn them. Still a nice spot and worth a visit.
