Spontaneously drank a few Altbiers and didn't regret it. A cozy place to stay for a short or long time. Very funny service. We had fun

We were there on a weekday. Food is quite okay, since with so many guests, a schnitzel, for example, is not prepared in a pan, but rather in the deep fryer. Service really quick and attentive! Great 😃 I can't imagine how things would work when there's even more going on. There are several rooms within the building. The room we were in has a real rustic “pub” feel. It's really loud in there because of the wooden paneling on the walls and ceilings. I can't judge what the other rooms are like. It was quite well attended. For groups of four or more people, I recommend making a reservation, even on weekdays.

Immense environment, a bit like a labyrinth! Tourist spot, with almost rude service (no need to be friendly as the place is crowded), good drinks and food left a lot to be desired. I don't drink, I asked for water and was almost shot by the waiter's gaze. It's not worth it. PAYMENT IN CASH ONLY

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Uerige, an authentic German restaurant, and the experience was fantastic! Always delicious! Nice to be outside and drink beer. A colorful hustle and bustle on the street and well attended when the weather is good. You also feel comfortable inside.

It just keeps getting better! Waiters arrogant, absolutely sick of the prices, and now beer on tap!!!! What happened to the Uerige??? But there are probably still enough tourists who like the shop. As a former regular who has been there for more than 30 years, I will now avoid this shop, like many other former regulars.

It has been known for decades. However, the service inside was extremely poor. We visited the Uerige twice in one week. Both times sat on the corner in the dining room. Both times you had to wait a long time for your beer, not to mention a refill. On the second visit on Monday, lentil soup with sausages. Lentil soup with garlic slices? My grandma would be horrified. Sausage was cold, the waiter didn't listen and three times you could only place part of the order because he only took the order as he walked past. It doesn't work at all.

Cozy brewery restaurant in the inside with a warm and inviting atmosphere, adorned in mid-century wood decor. The furniture is a blend of rich, dark wood, with sleek lines and minimalist detailing, giving it a modern yet nostalgic feel. The walls are lined with wooden paneling, I had the "Mett Brötchen"... a classic German dish featuring raw minced pork, seasoned with onions, salt, and pepper, and served on a fresh, crusty roll. It's rich, flavorful, and a bit different from the usual pub fare. Wash it down with the malty lager brewed in-house for the full experience!

We stood there 10 min and wait for beer. Waiter saw us and completely ignored us although we asked him if could be served. “ top service “ as usual. We left without further waiting.

Service Wüste Uerige Düsseldorf ordered 2 beers and had to wait 30 minutes. We were served only when we asked. The staff wasn't friendly. We were literally ignored. After that, too little change was given. Not recommended at all

This was my first time in Germany, so naturally, I did what any savvy traveler would do—I asked the first random person I met on the train for advice. Enter: a true British gentleman (Essen resident, Brighton vibes), who suggested me "Mate, if you want the real local deal, head to Uerige! So off I go, hungry and curious, and wow, I walk straight into what feels like a German food Olympics. Schnitzel? Check. Bratwurst? Check. Potatoes for days? Oh, they’re endless. But wait – there's also a tidal wave of beer – because apparently at Uerige, if you’re not drowning in it, you’re doing it wrong. Now, the waiters here... they're on another level. Imagine sprinters, but their sole mission is to keep your glass full. And beware! If you don’t throw your hand over your glass like it's a life preserver, they will top you up again... and again until you're practically made of malt. But the best part? I innocently ask for a glass of water and the waiter, with the driest humor of all time, says, "Oh, all the water you need is already in the beer." Apparently, Germans DO have a sense of humor, and it’s as refreshing as their... beer. Left Uerige pleasantly stuffed, slightly tipsy, and with a newfound respect for both German cuisine and their cheeky humor. Highly recommend, but proceed with caution if you're not trying to turn into a beer keg on legs!

A quaint Düsseldorf Altbier brewery that is perfect as a starting point for an evening in the old town. The fast and attentive service ensures that you never have to wait long for your cold drink. I can't say anything about the food, but the ambience is definitely convincing. You can especially stand or sit outside to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the old town.

The waiters are the worst, they treated us very badly. We were treated very badly and the service was very poor. The way they spoke to us and treated us was simply unacceptable. I can't believe it, it's all really bad and we were treated very badly. And they didn't give us any change.

Typical pub to try, but I don't recommend going there. On days of chaos, the waiters don't follow you, after the third beer I put the coaster on top of the glass as a sign that I don't want to continue the beer round but they continued to serve us beer, I asked for a goulash and I got a curry wurst.

BEWARE do not go to this place if you don't want to be scammed. At the end of the evening we had 8 more beers on our bill to pay. You only pay in cash (but it's not marked anywhere) and what's more they don't make you pay separate bills. The nightmare service. The waiter was drinking on duty and I'm not surprised that he got the bill wrong by writing everything down in pencil on a coaster. Place to forget!

Very nice place and very good food and beer. That said, the waiter drinks beer during service, writes down the orders on a coaster and in the end they are unable to do the math, among other things they speak little English. Nice winding old pub. There is a small menu, but the food is not that convincing. The service is nice and fast and if you don't like alt, there is very good light beer.

I've never complained or rated anything. But that's not okay. We made reservations for 10 people, but there are only 9 people and one has to stand at the bar table to eat. There is no ketchup or mayo either. I've really never experienced anything like that. And we eat out often. Very unfortunate.

I've had a read through the reviews and seen that it's not just me who was short changed by a waiter who turned aggressive when challenged. Seriously, avoid this place; it will give you a bad impression of what is otherwise an amazing city with great brewery houses.

The food was very good, we ordered knuckle of pork (delicious) and roast beef (average). Beer is good and the waiter was really nice (not usual in Europe). Definitely would come back.

If you want to feel racism, welcome this place. I visited with a colleague. When I first entered the store, an employee motioned for me to leave. There were definitely a lot of people in the store. When I went back in after a while without knowing why, the other employees looked at me strangely and laughed among themselves, as if a passing dog had come in. After waiting for a while, they told us to stand instead of sitting (there were enough seats) and then told us to sit in the far corner. The same number of guests who arrived later than us were seated in regular seats (they were not Asian). Thinking that I wouldn't get good food even if I tried this place, I left the store and had a meal at nearby Five Guys. Although Düsseldorf has many major exhibitions and is visited by a variety of people, it was surprising that there was a place that smacked of racism. Essential. Mythical place in Düsseldorf. They serve their ALT beer, bitter and brown, in small 20cl glasses. Once you start drinking, they keep bringing you more. If they see the glass empty, they give you another one. To stop them from bringing you, you have to put the coaster on top. Typical food (knuckle, potato salad, blood sausage...) All very delicious. And the place, inside, simply impressive.

The rest is a place in Düsseldorf's old town where you can drink a few Altbier and order some food to be sold. If you visit this brewery restaurant with exactly this approach, you will neither be disappointed nor have your expectations completely exaggerated. The rustic is neither a place where you spend your first meeting dinner nor a place where you hold important business meetings. (or even more so😂) This is a place where you can spend a simply lovely evening in good company. Our waitress was super friendly and always kept an eye on the supply of drinks at the table. The food wasn't an explosion for the taste buds, but it was sensibly prepared and served in a rustic manner. As you can see in the pictures, the “rustic” is very rustically furnished and invites you to linger.

If you don't know the Uerige, you may have missed the best of Düsseldorf. But it can certainly be done later, ideally in warm weather and outside with Uerigen beer and good friends.

Really, I would like to rate this place positively because of the location and the outside environment, BUT the food and service are just a complete disaster. If I want to eat shoe soles, I go to the shoemaker and not to a restaurant. It was like dry food! The schnitzel was so dry and disgusting and they charge 20 euros for it??? I have NEVER eaten such a disgusting schnitzel in my (to be honest, only 30 years) life and the potato salad was frozen. In addition, the service was super unfriendly, added too much food to our bill and we were only able to get the food off the bill through an outside witness. In addition, the operator was previously more than unfriendly, a disaster. All in all, avoid this place if possible, disgusting food, unfriendly service! Everything I don't want...

We got recommended this place by a few locals, and it was great! The servers seem fierce but they were so friendly throughout the service, it really felt like the authentic German experience. Food we ordered: • Uerige-haxe (pork knuckle) - we collectively agreed its our favourite dish, tender and flavourful • Krüstchen gulasch (beef stew) - I like this a lot, its comforting and has a rich flavour • Schnitzel "wiener art" (pork cutlet) - this was okay, a bit dry and flavourless • Currywurst - can't go wrong, tastes like every other currywurst I've had haha We all got alt bier. Beer always tastes good with meat. Our first time trying it and got a bit of culture shock when the waiter served the second glass before we finished our first. A bit of Googling told us that Germans drink beer quickly because they love them cold, and we could just cover our glasses with the coasters so the servers know when to stop.

Don’t go here if you want to be welcomed by some racist waiters, their very rude attitude especially towards asians, we just sat for 5 minutes looking at the menu, they asked what we wanted to order, and we said we’re still looking , he said “ no, now !” Three times he said. We were stared when we were eating while as the other tables with locals were served correctly. When we were about to pay, he took the money and said “so are you giving me tips or not ?!” We were so surprised!!DO NOT COME HERE if you want to be treated like this.

The city brewery with its own small glasses of Uerige beer for only € 2.80. Besides beer only water and apple juice. Meeting place for (mainly male) Dusseldorfers. Waiters are somewhat introverted, but if that doesn't bother you and you need to respond to them every now and then, you should loosen up a bit. A game. Top location to hang out at a beer table, watch passers-by and chat with each other. After all, you create the fun yourself.

As a Die Toten Hosen fan you had to go here. Of course I ordered the delicious Hosen Hell with a currywurst with bread. Well, kids, what can I say? The 5/5 stars say it all. Currywurst and the sauce were very good although I'm not a big fan of currywurst, beer of course also on top, the bread also on top, such nice staff is rare and the atmosphere and atmosphere is very nice and nice.

Excellent beer from the moment you sit down, you are greeted with a glass of cold beer, and they don't stop serving you until you place the glass holder on the glass. The GOUDA is very delicious, just like the BOCK sausages. Ideal to spend a while or the entire afternoon.

Great Altbier. Don't expect much else as they sell only their own beer. Seat yourself and expect loud and boisterous atmosphere. The servers are efficient and come off a tad gruff. They deal with tourists and lost their sense of humor long ago. Bring cash as no cards excepted.

Gelegen in de Altstad van Düsseldorf in de directe nabijheid van de Rijn. Hier wordt Altbier gedronken!! Keuken is gutbürgerlich met de bekende Brauhaus gerechten. Zeer gezellig!!
