The rest is a place in Düsseldorf's old town where you can drink a few Altbier and order some food to be sold. If you visit this brewery restaurant with exactly this approach, you will neither be disappointed nor have your expectations completely exaggerated. The rustic is neither a place where you spend your first meeting dinner nor a place where you hold important business meetings. (or even more so😂) This is a place where you can spend a simply lovely evening in good company. Our waitress was super friendly and always kept an eye on the supply of drinks at the table. The food wasn't an explosion for the taste buds, but it was sensibly prepared and served in a rustic manner. As you can see in the pictures, the “rustic” is very rustically furnished and invites you to linger.

The non-alcoholic beer is delicious and the atmosphere is great.

If you don't know the Uerige, you may have missed the best of Düsseldorf. But it can certainly be done later, ideally in warm weather and outside with Uerigen beer and good friends.

Really, I would like to rate this place positively because of the location and the outside environment, BUT the food and service are just a complete disaster. If I want to eat shoe soles, I go to the shoemaker and not to a restaurant. It was like dry food! The schnitzel was so dry and disgusting and they charge 20 euros for it??? I have NEVER eaten such a disgusting schnitzel in my (to be honest, only 30 years) life and the potato salad was frozen. In addition, the service was super unfriendly, added too much food to our bill and we were only able to get the food off the bill through an outside witness. In addition, the operator was previously more than unfriendly, a disaster. All in all, avoid this place if possible, disgusting food, unfriendly service! Everything I don't want...

Nice traditional inn, with typical Düsseldorf cuisine. Delicious old beer, served with a relaxed message from the waiter.

Their beer and food is really delicious. (Mettbrötchen, leberwurst, haxe recommended.) But the servers are so, so, sooo rude. Especially if you're not ethnically German.

The Uerige in Düsseldorf is always recommended. We have been coming here for years and enjoy the drinks and delicious food. The atmosphere is special. Very nice service with relaxed sayings. A rustic place where everyone will certainly feel at home.

We got recommended this place by a few locals, and it was great! The servers seem fierce but they were so friendly throughout the service, it really felt like the authentic German experience. Food we ordered: • Uerige-haxe (pork knuckle) - we collectively agreed its our favourite dish, tender and flavourful • Krüstchen gulasch (beef stew) - I like this a lot, its comforting and has a rich flavour • Schnitzel "wiener art" (pork cutlet) - this was okay, a bit dry and flavourless • Currywurst - can't go wrong, tastes like every other currywurst I've had haha We all got alt bier. Beer always tastes good with meat. Our first time trying it and got a bit of culture shock when the waiter served the second glass before we finished our first. A bit of Googling told us that Germans drink beer quickly because they love them cold, and we could just cover our glasses with the coasters so the servers know when to stop.

After seeing it again after 20 years, Düsseldorf is still a cult place, there is also food, but I can't rate it

Don’t go here if you want to be welcomed by some racist waiters, their very rude attitude especially towards asians, we just sat for 5 minutes looking at the menu, they asked what we wanted to order, and we said we’re still looking , he said “ no, now !” Three times he said. We sit down with 3 people. The waitress slaps three beers on our table. When we pointed out that two people didn't want beer but wanted mineral water because they had to drive, he grumbled to us in an unfriendly manner that it was a brewery. The service is really bad and I have never experienced anything so rude and unfriendly in Germany and it is embarrassing to show friends from abroad this restaurant: we sat down in the outdoor area and waited for a long time and the employees kept walking past us . The city brewery with its own small glasses of Uerige beer for only € 2.80. Besides beer only water and apple juice. Meeting place for (mainly male) Dusseldorfers. Waiters are somewhat introverted, but if that doesn't bother you and you need to respond to them every now and then, you should loosen up a bit. A game. Top location to hang out at a beer table, watch passers-by and chat with each other. After all, you create the fun yourself.

As a Die Toten Hosen fan you had to go here. Of course I ordered the delicious Hosen Hell with a currywurst with bread. Well, kids, what can I say? The 5/5 stars say it all. Currywurst and the sauce were very good although I'm not a big fan of currywurst, beer of course also on top, the bread also on top, such nice staff is rare and the atmosphere and atmosphere is very nice and nice.

Excellent beer from the moment you sit down, you are greeted with a glass of cold beer, and they don't stop serving you until you place the glass holder on the glass. The GOUDA is very delicious, just like the BOCK sausages. Ideal to spend a while or the entire afternoon.

Great Altbier. Don't expect much else as they sell only their own beer. Seat yourself and expect loud and boisterous atmosphere. The servers are efficient and come off a tad gruff. They deal with tourists and lost their sense of humor long ago. Bring cash as no cards excepted.

We were simply given beer - without asking - even though we hadn't ordered it. I don't like beer and I drive a car... the comment that we didn't know that from Hamburg, our home, was answered snidely: now you know... without words. Never again and beware of rip-offs!

Actually 0 stars but Google doesn't accept that. I just wanted to drink a good beer with my family and since there were 8 of us, we wanted to push 2 tables that were outside together. We had already pushed the tables together when an employee came and shouted at us and made us look stupid. He sent us away and told us not to come back. I haven't had such unfriendly and disrespectful behavior in a long time. This brewery is really the last place I would go for a drink.

In my case he understood me when I ordered the pork knuckle, showing the photo and saying it in Spanish. Also, know that if you don't want another beer even if you haven't finished the first one, it is important to place the coaster so that they don't keep bringing it. The total bill for three beers and a knuckle came to €30 for both of us, the dish was well served for us, and the service was quite friendly. I will definitely go again.

The food was delicious and good, as was the beer. Unfortunately the glasses are not completely filled, in some cases only half full and that at a hefty price of €2.85 for a small beer. This is annoying, complaining on site makes no sense and will not be accepted. Service was a bit edgy and unfriendly - but okay. Also annoying: no card payment possible, it doesn't work at all.

Old traditional inn with famous top-fermented beer. Contrary to other information, we had a very friendly “Köppes” who served us excellently, quickly and friendly👍. Good food. My pork knuckle was the best I've ever eaten. We will be back

Always wanted to go here having watched Auf Wiedersehen Pet many times. Full of character and places to sit together inside or out. Waiters were generally polite although didn’t really engage.

We have been drinking our Alt in this brewery every now and then since we moved to Düsseldorf three years ago. Service was very attentive, friendly, the conversations were entertaining, we got one or two tips for great corners of Düsseldorf. At the bar tables outside you can wonderfully watch the goings-on in the old town. Food is good too 👍

Uriege restaurant was a brewery since 1862. We had crispy pork knuckle, fresh blood sausage, meatbrothen. And dark beer as complete the dinner.

I invited my friends from abroad because they wanted to eat at a local German brewery. I asked for fries for the children and we were directed to McDonalds, they were a well-balanced brewery. If I were there alone I would have walked out but that was too embarrassing for my guests! We always got condescending answers. After this rude service, he forced us to tip, saying this was a tradition. That was a complete embarrassment to my guests.

I recently visited Bewpub and found it a bit overrated and overpriced. The meat dishes were disappointing, lacking the expected flavor and quality. However, the beer service was a highlight, with 0.25 liter glasses refilled quickly and efficiently. While there were some positives, the overall experience didn't quite live up to the hype.

Did two tours of Dusseldorf one afternoon, and both tours ended up stopping here for a beer. Dusseldorf has a great beer and bar scene, and this seems to be the focal point, as it was permanently busy every time I passed by it. Beer is really good, and it is great to catch a table outside and just watch the world go by. Worth visiting if passing by.

A classic destination that does not disappoint. Very few beer options, but just stick with the default - an excellent hoppy ale. Great place with a great atmosphere. The traditional Düsseldorf ALT is the perfect choice there. Unfortunately, due to the current European Championships and the Slovakia-Ukraine match taking place that day in the same city, the waiting time for the customer service was quite long. Asking for beers seemed to be in vain, as the feedback was that they only came to the tables. Even when you were next to them, you still had to have a dry throat for a while. Payment only in cash 💶!

As a true Düsseldorfer, this is the second time I haven't been provided with Altbier. Sitting around in front of the Uerigen for 20 minutes (!), the waiter nods at me in a friendly way, but doesn't take an order, let alone bring me a beer! I've been to Päffgen in Cologne a few times and the service is prompt! There is no beer, but Kölsch, but before you die of thirst it's better than nothing like in Düsseldorf. Therefore: If you want to drink beer - stay away from this Uerigen juice shop!

As first day in Dusseldorf we decided to come here to have dinner. At the entrance there were nobody welcoming us and when we asked a waiter for a table he just told us to look for a free table by ourselves. After found a table we made the order with the guy in charge of our “room”. The beer was good but unfortunately half of the pint was only foam… that wasn’t even 33cl as mentioned on the menu. We waited almost 30min to have the food which I can understand because the place was packed and full of people came for the Euro2024 but we were expecting way more from the service and this place generally. As first experience I would not come back again

Terrible experience from a very rude bold waiter (in his 60’). We asked for the bill, instead of that he brought his drawings and we had to ask many times and push him to even bring the printed bill. After that he was pushing for a tip on a very rude way. Worst experience we had.

Exactly as previous posts : worst service ever! Waiter was ignoring our group permanently. We had two tables. He was taking order from one, ignoring the other, and vice-versa. Very loooong waiting time to order and to deliver. When delivering "forgot" about salads. Ordering wine took ages, the answer for "can I order coke or juice " was: "no" and he walked away ( not everybody was drinking beer) without any explanation. Looks like work for him at that place is some kind of punishment... Beer was ok - so if you'e only up to beer - go there. But food or any other drink - find another place! ps lady in the restroom, who is manually distributing / limiting the soap and paper towels ???

We spent two evenings at Uerige last weekend as part of the Lovebird Festival. On both evenings the glasses were served with significantly too little beer (but plenty of foam). On both evenings we asked for full glasses. On the first evening we waited a long time for our next beer. On the second evening the waiter disappeared with the lid to settle the bill (which is unusual) and we ended up with one more beer on the bill than we received. Since we didn't feel like having another argument and we assume that serving lots of foam is part of "normal behavior", we paid and will avoid "Das Uerige" for a long time. Fortunately, there are alternative options.

While traveling frequently to Germany, this is the first time I have received this type of service. No one shows me where to sit, and my plate and fork are thrown in front of me. It's really amazing. I was given more beer that I didn't order, and the food cost was 47 euros, but I paid 100 euros in cash and got 50 euros back. 3 euros..?? Haha, of course I throw the change in front of me. Are there all these crappy restaurants?! I got this kind of service and lost my money. I've lived in Europe for over 10 years, but this is my first time at a restaurant like this. It was really bad. I don't think I'll ever come back to Dussel again.

Don't order Sol eggs if you just want to try them and don't know how they are prepared. Our ignorance led to us being looked at stupidly from the side by the staff, telling us that you don't eat Sol eggs like that and if we didn't know how to do it, we shouldn't order any. <Essential Keller in Düsseldorf> Düsseldorf is likely to be visited for the first time by many people as a business trip destination rather than a tourist destination, and we recommend it as an essential tourist course for those people. In Germany, rather than drinking a variety of beers as expected, there are kellers in each region, so people tend to drink a lot of local alcohol. In this region, if you ask for beer, they don't even give you a variety, but they give you "Altbier", which looks like a dark beer, and always comes with a beer stand. They give it to you and use it to write with a pen how many beers you drank. Also, if there is only about 1 beer glass left in the beer glass every 3 minutes, they will give you a new glass right away, but if you don't quickly express that you want to stop drinking, it will go away right away, so keep this in mind. I usually order Haxe Haxen and beer, and most of my companions said they couldn't eat much because it was very salty, and most of the food from Germany and other European countries were said to be too salty for Koreans' tastes. Of course, there were some who didn't like it. Personally, I am averse to the visual appearance, but the white boiled sausage is the least salty and has the soft and firm texture the best. For those who eat a lot of haxen and want to eat other foods, just potatoes, sausages, and beer are enough to fill your stomach.
