We were there a few days ago with 10 people, having only reserved for 8 – but they managed to accommodate everyone. The restaurant was quite full. The food was absolutely delicious (everyone really loved it). The staff who initially served us seemed very stressed – but Marleen sorted everything out. She was quick, incredibly friendly, and attentive to all our needs. A big thank you to her! We'll definitely be back. Even if you get lucky and get a table, I recommend making a reservation.

It's not suitable for Arabs and Muslims; all the food there is not halal except for vegetarian options. I ordered the closest thing they had to halal, a chicken dish, and it arrived half-cooked; the chicken wasn't cooked properly and was nauseating. I don't recommend it for Muslim and Arab tourists.

Everything was lovely and delicious, as always. But you have to reserve in advance. We'll be back.

A restaurant where you feel like part of the family. Of course, we went to the Wildschütz because of the great reviews. The food is still top-notch, the service is professional, and since we were seated at a table where other diners could join us, we had an unbeatable evening of joy, togetherness, and pure happiness. This review reflects only my personal opinion. Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the positive reviews of the previous diners. After making a table reservation by phone, upon arrival and after a brief explanation, another couple was promptly ushered into our table, seemingly as if to say, "You certainly won't mind." Is the guest's comfort really their priority? It certainly seems more like they were looking for someone with a fat wallet. The tiny micro-bowl of Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) served as my wife's main course was more suited to toddlers. As compensation, we were informed during the phone reservation that our dining time was limited to 1.5 hours. Whether this is acceptable is, of course, a matter of personal preference. The food itself was good.

A charming Bavarian inn. We were just passing through and were incredibly lucky to get a table for two with three other couples. Reservations are a must! Generous portions of very good quality. The Bavarian tapas are especially recommended. We'll definitely be back.

The food was tasty, nothing particularly special. Unfortunately, we were only given 90 minutes to eat and were practically pressured to leave on time. I don't need that kind of hectic atmosphere on vacation. We were still eating when the 90 minutes were up and had to leave. The food was okay, but in my opinion, that's unacceptable. I might as well go to a kebab shop. At least there I can sit as long as I want and feel welcome. If they don't need your customers anymore, then I'm sorry.

Zum Wildschütz is a true Bavarian original. The food is incredibly hearty and delicious, especially the meat dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and typically Bavarian – you immediately feel welcome.

We followed the positive reviews and weren't disappointed. We went there for lunch without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. Despite the restaurant being full, the staff was incredibly organized and friendly. We were delighted that they also offered smaller portions and opted for tapas, venison goulash with spaetzle, and stuffed schnitzel with fried potatoes, along with a small salad. The food was excellent in both taste and presentation, as was the mixed salad. We highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was truly excellent – ​​we ordered several small tapas dishes, and everything was fresh, delicious, and prepared with care. We would especially like to commend the very friendly and attentive service from our waitress, Alla. We felt completely at ease and will gladly return!

The pork knuckle was absolutely delicious, it couldn't have been better. The portion was huge, and it came with very tasty dumplings and red cabbage. The goulash was good. I have to deduct one star because the service could have been friendlier.

Visited this restaurant as a solo diner and was turned away immediately. Waitress told me that its a full house and gave a brief ‘sorry’ without any explanation and made me leave immediately. What made this worse was that shortly after, 3 ladies entered without any waiting. Clear to see that they either don’t take in solo diners or foreigners. I would not recommend this place.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local taxi driver. We followed his recommendation and were very impressed. The food was delicious – especially the pork knuckle, which we will remember for a long time. Considering the rather high prices, the tapas were, in my opinion, inappropriately small. Nevertheless, the braised ox cheeks were among the best I have ever eaten.

Very tasty and in a pleasant atmosphere. If you're from Poland and craving the familiar golonka, I wouldn't recommend it. Even though it's a regional delicacy here, it was a huge disappointment. All the other dishes are A+. I recommend it.

Great atmosphere, excellent service, but unfortunately my roast pork was too tough and the gravy was very salty. I was then given a different dish, but unfortunately the fries were small and dry. The schnitzel was good, but the ketchup, packaged in plastic and placed directly on the schnitzel, is unacceptable in a good restaurant. It's a shame, because my husband, who had the stuffed schnitzel, was very satisfied.

The potato soup was incredible. Service was good. Dog friendly. Portions were huge.

The MOST authentic and memorable German food experience I’ve had in a long long long time. Everything here from the beer to the cabbage salad and Deer Sausages were incredible. If you want the real deal German experience, this is it.

Delicious authentic Bavarian food. Unfortunately the service was poor and did not meet our expectations. Our waitress was unfriendly and did not make us feel welcome. She only did the bare minimum…took the order, served our food and brought the bill. This was our second visit to Zum Wildschüts and the previous experience (about a year ago) was much better. Overall experience was average and the unfriendly service (and lack of it) is most certainly not what we expected from this highly rated Bavarian restaurant in Garmisch. Disappoining to say the least.

Was really looking forward to another amazing evening at this restaurant. For the money we had to spend, our waitress was absolutely not kind or willing to serve us at all. The food was fantastic but she made us feel very unwelcome that we just felt the need to leave, and it wasn’t even busy. Never ever again! I've been there three times. Twice I was told they were still closed. Then change your Google listing. According to it, they were open. The third time, I spoke to four people and was transferred each time until the last one told me there was no more space. The lack of space wouldn't have been so bad in itself. However, none of the four people were particularly friendly, and at one point I saw a woman lighting a cigarette in the kitchen. I won't try it a fourth time.

Many wonderful tabs for a light meal

Seated fast. Ordered even faster. Meal came at lightening speed. Ate terribly and paid. Beer arrived 6:07 we were done by 6:30 😳 If you want to feel like cattle, eat terrible food and be ripped off for it. This is the place for you. Food looked ok. Tasted below average. Pork was hard hard hard (couldnt be cut with the bladed knife) and only came with the tiniest piece of crackling. The sauce was very mild and watered down. Goulash had flavour but was extremely salty and I could of knocked my husband out cold with the knodle. Käsespätzle was one of the most blander I have tried.

I'm very disappointed with the food. The quality has declined here.🙈

My favorite Bavarian restaurant. The food was delicious, staff very attentive and hospitable, the decor was lovely with attention to detail, and very reasonably priced. I'll definitely come back to this wonderful restaurant.

I had roast pork with red cabbage, followed by venison sausages with sauerkraut. Both were excellent, with crispy crackling and lots of mustard. Service was great.

The food was very good, and the ambiance in the restaurant is truly lovely. Unfortunately, the positive impression was completely spoiled by the unfriendly staff. We were ignored several times, drinks were brought incorrectly, and part of our meal order was forgotten. When we pointed this out, we were argued with, even though three people at the table clearly heard the order. The behavior towards other guests was also inappropriate: children who were laughing quietly were told to be quiet – completely excessive. Overall, there was a clear lack of hospitality and service. It's a shame, because the food and ambiance actually deserve five stars – but the staff, unfortunately, doesn't.

Good pork knuckle, but make sure you come with a huge appetite. That thing is American sized.

An absolute highlight in Garmisch-Partenkirchen! "Zum Wildschütz" not only offers a cozy Bavarian atmosphere, but also outstanding food. The dishes are prepared with love – the venison dishes and the pork knuckle were particularly delicious! The service was warm, attentive, and quick; you simply feel welcome here. The value for money is also perfect. We will definitely be back on our next vacation – a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Bavarian cuisine of the highest quality!

We've been going to GaPa for a while now, and a visit or evening at Wildschütz is a must for us. The pork knuckle (tip: make a reservation when booking a table, otherwise it'll be gone) is perfect. I know taste is subjective, but I've eaten a lot of it (it's my favorite ;-)). The service is really great and the ambiance is just right. You can tell that the restaurant is run with heart and attention to detail. I highly recommend it.

As soon as I arrived, I was asked to put my backpack down. We just stood there and wanted to ask the waitress for space, never again.

Zum Wildschütz is such an atmospheric and excellent place. The first time we visited for a late lunch, they didn’t have a free table and suggested we sit in the bar area, we enjoyed every little detail of the place. We loved it so much that we tried to come back another day but it was fully booked. Luckily, we managed to visit again on our last day in Garmisch. Over the two visits we tried roasted pork, deer stew, hot dog, beef roast, apple strudel, and of course beer everything was absolutely delicious. The cozy atmosphere, warm service, and authentic Bavarian food made this our favorite spot in town. Highly recommend

The restaurant feels very warm and cozy inside. We arrived at 7:30 PM without a reservation, so we had to sit outside. Unfortunately, the Pork Knuckle and Roasted Pork were already sold out! You really need to book in advance and come early to get them. We ordered other dishes instead, and I think the food was very tasty! It’s actually the best German food I’ve had during my trip. The price is also reasonable. Highly recommended!

Very unfriendly on the phone, wanted to reserve a table with a small dog but was immediately blocked.

We happened upon the restaurant spontaneously and got the last half of a free table, even though it had only been open for 10 minutes. Despite the throngs of people coming and going, the staff were super friendly and took the time to explain things. They served tapas of all the Bavarian classics. We had five between us and a Kaiserschmarren on top. Everything tasted excellent, and we were able to try everything. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Delicious trout and fantastic Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes). All in a lovely setting in the heart of Garmisch. The highlight, however, was the friendly service and the seating area with its own "dog cave" and treat service.

Bavaria meets tapas. In a rustic atmosphere, the principle of smaller portions is practiced. With the advantage of being able to try several things. There are also dishes for those with a larger appetite. The prices are on the higher end, but still reasonable.

Even though it was packed, they still found a comfortable spot for us. And the restaurant has won multiple awards for good reason. Absolutely recommended and indescribably delicious!
