The reputation of this restaurant precedes us. That's why we stopped by for several Bavarian tapas. The waitress and the manager were very friendly and accommodating. We found a seat at the counter because the restaurant was packed. The tapas came quickly and were beautifully presented. There was nothing to complain about in terms of taste either. Two tapas were enough to fill everyone up. The price was completely reasonable. So we can only empathize with and confirm the awards this establishment has won. We'd go back anytime!

Great place to eat, drink and meet friends. The small Bavarian tapas are especially a great idea. You can get great Bavarian dishes in mini portions at an attractive price, from Wiener Schnitzel to onion roast beef. Great idea that tastes great and makes sense! 👍🏻

How lucky that something like this still exists! A sensationally friendly, experienced and attentive service team as well as freshly prepared, incredibly delicious food. We were there yesterday at lunchtime - the restaurant was busy, but the ladies in service did everything they could to quickly organize a nice table for us. Our little dachshund was immediately provided with a bowl of water and some treats without us even having to ask - great service! The onion soup was excellent, as was the starter salad. The Werdenfelser Schnitzel were not only deliciously stuffed, but also so big that we, as seasoned men, couldn't manage to finish them. Definitely our first choice on our next visit to Garmisch!

When we came to the restaurant in the evening, it was really full, all the tables were full, the employees were bustling around, but attentive when we came in. I asked for a table for two without a reservation. The boss herself, Ms. Platte, came, took the time, dug out her occupancy note and pondered. She asked if we would like to sit at the bar, otherwise everything was occupied. We agreed and were received very friendly. Jessy served us, explained the menu to us and we got the drinks and food incredibly quickly. We were often asked whether everything was okay, whether it tasted good, whether we were satisfied. We felt incredibly comfortable and were "just" sitting at the bar. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, harmonious and calming. Everything just fit together. Hats off to this restaurant! Go there, take in this ambience and eat your fill. An outstanding experience.

Simply great! Typical Bavarian style in the furnishings and the dishes are unbeatable in terms of price/performance ratio! Taps is a great idea because you can simply try more (decisions are definitely difficult)! Everything was freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The dessert, in our case Kaiserschmarrn and chocolate cake with a liquid center, was a poem! We were lucky that we got a table. Very difficult without reservation! We always try to find a solution. Unfortunately, we can only evaluate the reservation process and placement. We got a table for 8pm and got there a little early. Okay, “10 minutes window shopping” again. After 13 minutes we were back, the table was still not free because the children were still getting ice cream, “please another 5 minutes”… no problem. By chance we saw the table we were talking about... it still took about 20 minutes because the ice cream had just been served and the adults still had drinks. Thanks, but we were looking for something else.

We enjoyed all of our meals! Highly recommend the deer sausages. The chocolate cake was perfect as well. We enjoyed the flamkuchen and potato soup too. Good variety of German food and they also have German tapas so you can try many things (that is what the group next to us did).

Very good, cozy restaurant that offers both good Bavarian cuisine and Bavarian tapas dishes. The stuffed schnitzel with fried potatoes was sensationally good and the small side salad was also completely convincing. The beer was also very tasty and the dessert was a poem. Yesterday, Sunday January 19, 2025, I was there again for a long time with a lot of anticipation. The hut is full of tourists. Table assignment to a table that is already occupied. So far everything is OK. Our meal "onion roast" came quickly for 10.90 euros each and a large bottle of water. In the end it made 29.40 euros. Unfortunately, the portions were micro, as we have never experienced anywhere before, so it was like a kind of appetizer. So unfortunately we won't be coming anymore.🦋

It's a cosy little restaurant with absolutely delicious food and well worth the money. The restaurant is very busy so you need to book in advance to guarantee a table.

We were there a few days ago with 10 people and had only reserved for 8 - but they made it possible for us to accommodate everyone. The restaurant was well filled. The food was super tasty (everyone really enjoyed it), the tapas could be a bit bigger. The staff who initially served us seemed very "stressed" - but Marleen got everything sorted out - she was quick - super friendly and responded to all our requests. Kudos to her. We like to come back again and again. Even if you were lucky and got a spot, I recommend making a reservation.

Food, service and ambience were wonderful! We were warmly welcomed along with our four-legged friend and seated at a table with other guests because there was a lot going on. This worked surprisingly well, we still had our time together because the table was very large. The service was outstanding, very friendly and the food came quickly and was really tasty. I was particularly pleased that our dog was not only allowed to be there, but was also royally looked after with a blanket, water bowl and even treats. That was really extremely friendly and is neither natural nor everyday, so I would like to praise it.

A paradise for people and dogs – our new favorite place! This is the second time we have been here on holiday and that says it all. This restaurant is simply a dream – for us and for our furry friend Whiskey. Whiskey was greeted warmly upon arrival: a cozy dog ​​blanket, a water bowl and treats the size of a real dinner - just incredible! Our dog felt like a king and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The food? Absolute madness! Fresh ingredients, perfect preparation and loving presentation make every dish a highlight. The service is exceptionally friendly and attentive - you can feel that they work here with heart. A little insider tip: Be sure to reserve in advance, because of course many people want to discover such a great place. One thing is certain for us: we will come back on our next vacation!

Very rustic restaurant in the middle of Garmisch. We were lucky to get a table even without a reservation. We recommend the “Bavarian tapas”, basically half portions of normal main dishes that you can try your way through. Friendly service and good cuisine.

I wanted a spontaneous dinner and “Zum Wildschütz” has a high rating on Google Maps. Really a nice place. The restaurant was full, but a nice waitress offered me a seat at the counter. I ordered roast pork, the meat was tender and tasty. The beer tasted good too. Despite the full house, I was served quickly. If I travel to Garmisch again, I will definitely visit “Zum Wildschütz” again. 😁

We were there for dinner on December 25th, 2024. We booked a table long in advance. We were warmly welcomed. The service was very attentive and we felt very comfortable. The food was terrific. The Bavarian tapas in particular are highly recommended. We had the roast pork, which was super tender. And the Viennese style schnitzel. We left very satisfied and with full bellies and would come back again and again.

Very nice staff, nice atmosphere. We were given a place even though we hadn't made a reservation. Super clean, modern toilets. For the small price, I still found the portion of schnitzel to be very small. Without additional salad it wouldn't have been enough for me. The deer goulash was more appealing.

Unfortunately very well attended as usual. We have always been very satisfied with the food on offer. This time the pork crackling was a bit tough and tasteless. The dumplings probably came from the package. We will still come back again.

In my opinion, an overrated restaurant. The dishes are nothing special. And the pork was really tough, with an unchewable sinew. I didn't think pork could be cooked so badly, it's not even beef. Disappointing for the above average price tag.

Diese Lokal hat "neue bayerische Tapas" Gerichte. Ok. Alles schön und gut. Der Preis ist hoch für eine 1/4 Portion Tapas ca. 11,00 Euro. Der Witz, einmal und nie wieder. Besser hätte ich ein gscheites Restaurant gesucht, wo wir satt werden. Meiner Meinuhng nach geht das gar nicht. 5,60 Euro für ein Bier auch am obersten Preis Limit. Ich denke die Geschäftsleute haben nur die Dollar $$$$ Zeichen in den Augen. Wir schreiben ungern Berwertungen. Aber wir waren so sehr enttäuscht, dass ich unsere Erfahrung mitteilen wollte. Sehr schade. Da ist es in München nocht günstiger...

We've enjoyed coming here for years. This time we were there on a Thursday evening. (Not recommended without reservation). 'Bavarian tapas' have recently been added to the menu, which means you can order several small dishes. We really like the new concept, the two of us ordered 5 dishes. Our favorite remains the onion roast with cheese spaetzle. All the dishes were super tasty and reasonably priced. The waitresses were very friendly and warm. Unfortunately the noise level is quite high in the evening when it is so crowded. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. We'll be back.

BUT I really have to get something off my chest now, it's no longer nice how full the place is, tables are filled twice, sitting alone is a non-starter, sometimes the whole place is full inside and people are basically funneled through like in a fast snack bar . Coziness? Quiet? None! And the restaurant itself is rustic and as it should be in the mountains. I understand that you need every euro, but here less would be more! You would like to stay seated longer, but with the hustle and bustle and the neighbors sometimes not having the right table, you eat quickly, pay and leave again. Relaxation and comfort are different, we probably won't be back any time soon. Unfortunately.
