The food was very good, and the ambiance in the restaurant is truly lovely. Unfortunately, the positive impression was completely spoiled by the unfriendly staff. We were ignored several times, drinks were brought incorrectly, and part of our meal order was forgotten. When we pointed this out, we were argued with, even though three people at the table clearly heard the order. The behavior towards other guests was also inappropriate: children who were laughing quietly were told to be quiet – completely excessive. Overall, there was a clear lack of hospitality and service. It's a shame, because the food and ambiance actually deserve five stars – but the staff, unfortunately, doesn't.

Good pork knuckle, but make sure you come with a huge appetite. That thing is American sized.

An absolute highlight in Garmisch-Partenkirchen! "Zum Wildschütz" not only offers a cozy Bavarian atmosphere, but also outstanding food. The dishes are prepared with love – the venison dishes and the pork knuckle were particularly delicious! The service was warm, attentive, and quick; you simply feel welcome here. The value for money is also perfect. We will definitely be back on our next vacation – a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Bavarian cuisine of the highest quality!

We've been going to GaPa for a while now, and a visit or evening at Wildschütz is a must for us. The pork knuckle (tip: make a reservation when booking a table, otherwise it'll be gone) is perfect. I know taste is subjective, but I've eaten a lot of it (it's my favorite ;-)). The service is really great and the ambiance is just right. You can tell that the restaurant is run with heart and attention to detail. I highly recommend it.

Simply excellent. Some of the dishes are large and some are tapas. We were a couple with three daughters and we shared several dishes and everything was delicious.

We loved our experience here. The tapas and vibes are amazing. You really do need a reservation though because it is jammed packed. We got lucky and were seated just before 5:30 but it was only because we agreed to share a table with another couple!

After making a reservation, we received a very friendly welcome. Excellent service, and special requests were accommodated when ordering. The food had a wow factor. Super delicious, and the wait time was normal. Thank you for the wonderful evening in the rustic atmosphere.

Zum Wildschütz is such an atmospheric and excellent place. The first time we visited for a late lunch, they didn’t have a free table and suggested we sit in the bar area, we enjoyed every little detail of the place. We loved it so much that we tried to come back another day but it was fully booked. Luckily, we managed to visit again on our last day in Garmisch. Over the two visits we tried roasted pork, deer stew, hot dog, beef roast, apple strudel, and of course beer everything was absolutely delicious. The cozy atmosphere, warm service, and authentic Bavarian food made this our favorite spot in town. Highly recommend

The restaurant feels very warm and cozy inside. We arrived at 7:30 PM without a reservation, so we had to sit outside. Unfortunately, the Pork Knuckle and Roasted Pork were already sold out! You really need to book in advance and come early to get them. We ordered other dishes instead, and I think the food was very tasty! It’s actually the best German food I’ve had during my trip. The price is also reasonable. Highly recommended!

Very unfriendly on the phone, wanted to reserve a table with a small dog but was immediately blocked.

We had the small tapas, which were really delicious, great concept and more than enough.

We happened upon the restaurant spontaneously and got the last half of a free table, even though it had only been open for 10 minutes. Despite the throngs of people coming and going, the staff were super friendly and took the time to explain things. They served tapas of all the Bavarian classics. We had five between us and a Kaiserschmarren on top. Everything tasted excellent, and we were able to try everything. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Delicious trout and fantastic Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes). All in a lovely setting in the heart of Garmisch. The highlight, however, was the friendly service and the seating area with its own "dog cave" and treat service.

Bavaria meets tapas. In a rustic atmosphere, the principle of smaller portions is practiced. With the advantage of being able to try several things. There are also dishes for those with a larger appetite. The prices are on the higher end, but still reasonable.

I'm so glad I discovered this restaurant with its Bavarian tapas on my last vacation in the region. It's simply so delicious, and you can try several dishes at once. As a big adult eater, I ordered three tapas, but for less fussy eaters or children, one or two tapas are enough, and they also serve delicious desserts ;-) I'd be happy to come back here anytime. The service is very friendly, and the restaurant has a really nice, rustic decor, which makes you feel at home!

Without a reservation, it's a gamble! The boss was super nice and seated. All the staff were polite and super on the ball. Plus, the food was high-quality, and the Bavarian tapas are fantastic. I'd happily go back again.

Absolutely everything is perfect! We ate here two days in a row. The service is quite prompt, even when it's busy. The food includes classic dishes as well as creative variations of Bavarian cuisine; everything is delicious. The desserts are also very good. The ambiance is perfect, and the decor is beautiful. A great restaurant with Bavarian flair. Super tasty dishes, whether schnitzel or roast pork. The selection on the menu is extensive. The good thing is that you can also order smaller portions if you're having trouble deciding, for children or ladies who aren't too hungry. A very nice, traditional restaurant with Bavarian specialties. If you're in Garmisch Partenkirchen, go there for a meal. The portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is good. A little tip: if you want to stay longer or there are several people, reserve a table in advance. The staff are very friendly and the service is quick. We were there on a Sunday evening. Reservations are recommended. The restaurant was fully booked, and walk-ins were turned away. The staff was very friendly and prompt, despite the crowd. We each ordered a schnitzel: one plain, the other stuffed with mustard and onions. Both were delicious. We found the fries a bit too greasy and lacked crunch.

A place with a nice beer garden. We just came for a quick bite and a beer. Excellent flambé cake and average beers.

I had roast posts with red cabbage, followed by venison sausages with sauerkraut. Both were excellent, with crispy crackling and lots of mustard. Service was great.

We had two very good meals on August 10th. Great ambiance, excellent service, and a good atmosphere, even though it was really busy—simply top-notch! On August 17th, we had great food. Our server was also great, but the general atmosphere was very tense; a woman with dark hair was creating a bad mood and creating stress. If that had been our first evening, I don't think we would have come back! Please do it the same way as the first evening; we'd be happy to come back. Best regards

Highly recommended for hearty Bavarian food. The pork knuckle was huge, the meat juicy, and the crust crispy. Many dishes can also be combined as tapas, a cool idea. The service was incredibly friendly, quick, and attentive. Reservations are a good idea.

We went there spontaneously, but a reservation is highly recommended. We particularly enjoyed the Bavarian tapas. This allowed us to choose and try a wide variety of dishes, as they were small. However, there are also 'regular'-sized dishes. We personally enjoyed the schnitzel particularly much.

We had a lovely time with the family. The dishes were very generous. The interior decor was very pretty. Well located and good value for money. Remember to book.

A truly wonderful place with very friendly and attentive service. A fantastic tapas concept, allowing you to feast on Bavarian delicacies in many small courses. Water and snacks for the dog, something to draw for the little ones, and a delicious beer for dad. Everyone is happy and satisfied after a hike in the mountains. The schnitzel and cordon bleu were juicy, the fries were crispy, the fish was freshly breaded—everything was simply delicious. And the prices were reasonable, too.

We recently visited this restaurant. Overall, the food was tasty, but not so special that we would recommend it. My salad was quite greasy and oily, making it difficult to eat. My husband had two schnitzels and a small portion of fries. Unfortunately, this was our personal impression and choice—there were no pictures on the menu, which made the decision a bit difficult. The service was good and the atmosphere pleasant, but the food didn't leave a lasting impression.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of Germany! The food is exquisite, the service is phenomenal, the ambiance is warm, and it is in a beautiful area. What more could you want. While you are there make sure to ask Marleen about the “Chinese potato salad” and hopefully it will bring a smile to her face!

First impression wasn’t ideal as we had to wait an hour for a table, but it gave me the impression that it was going to be worth the wait when I saw the food being taken out to the tables. I can tell you, it was 100% worth that wait. I had the schnitzel and my goodness, it was incredible. Honestly the best I have ever had. I would drive a long way to eat there again. A very nice restaurant in the pedestrian zone of Garmisch Partenkirchen 💖. Even though it was busy, our order was taken quickly and arrived promptly at the table. The taste was excellent. Typical Bavarian cuisine. Everything was homemade 🤤. My husband had the roast pork and I had the ox cheeks in a delicious mustard crust 🤗. And they even thought of our dog ❣️. That made me happiest!
