Absolutely amazing Bavarian restaurant

Very nice staff, nice atmosphere. We were given a place even though we hadn't made a reservation. Super clean, modern toilets. For the small price, I still found the portion of schnitzel to be very small. Without additional salad it wouldn't have been enough for me. The deer goulash was more appealing.

Unfortunately very well attended as usual. We have always been very satisfied with the food on offer. This time the pork crackling was a bit tough and tasteless. The dumplings probably came from the package. We will still come back again.

In my opinion, an overrated restaurant. The dishes are nothing special. And the pork was really tough, with an unchewable sinew. I didn't think pork could be cooked so badly, it's not even beef. Disappointing for the above average price tag.

Simply delicious! It's best to make a reservation, whether for lunch or dinner, otherwise you have little chance of getting a seat. No matter what I've eaten so far, it's simply delicious. I just love the game dishes and the rustic atmosphere there. Just beautiful. Be careful for people who are difficult to walk. The toilets are downstairs, you don't have to go down steep stairs.

Diese Lokal hat "neue bayerische Tapas" Gerichte. Ok. Alles schön und gut. Der Preis ist hoch für eine 1/4 Portion Tapas ca. 11,00 Euro. Der Witz, einmal und nie wieder. Besser hätte ich ein gscheites Restaurant gesucht, wo wir satt werden. Meiner Meinuhng nach geht das gar nicht. 5,60 Euro für ein Bier auch am obersten Preis Limit. Ich denke die Geschäftsleute haben nur die Dollar $$$$ Zeichen in den Augen. Wir schreiben ungern Berwertungen. Aber wir waren so sehr enttäuscht, dass ich unsere Erfahrung mitteilen wollte. Sehr schade. Da ist es in München nocht günstiger...

We've enjoyed coming here for years. This time we were there on a Thursday evening. (Not recommended without reservation). 'Bavarian tapas' have recently been added to the menu, which means you can order several small dishes. We really like the new concept, the two of us ordered 5 dishes. Our favorite remains the onion roast with cheese spaetzle. All the dishes were super tasty and reasonably priced. The waitresses were very friendly and warm. Unfortunately the noise level is quite high in the evening when it is so crowded. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. We'll be back.

We are often in Garmisch and always in Wildschütz. The food was and is always excellent, the idea of ​​the Bavarian tapas is great because you can try something that you wouldn't otherwise eat. So far so good, the service was also excellent on all my visits. BUT I really have to get something off my chest now, it's no longer nice how full the place is, tables are filled twice, sitting alone is a non-starter, sometimes the whole place is full inside and people are basically funneled through like in a fast snack bar . Coziness? Quiet? None! And the restaurant itself is rustic and as it should be in the mountains. I understand that you need every euro, but here less would be more! You would like to stay seated longer, but with the hustle and bustle and the neighbors sometimes not having the right table, you eat quickly, pay and leave again. Relaxation and comfort are different, we probably won't be back any time soon. Unfortunately.

Wir waren am Sonntag mittag, als einheimische, zum ersten Mal dort. Warum verstehe ich selber nicht. Es war sehr sehr lecker und ganz toll bedient. Die Karte ist die beste Karte die ich jemals gesehen habe. Das Restaurant geht voll auf Geschmack, bietet sogar alles als Minigerichte an. Mega !!! Wir werden mit 10 Leuten am Freitag kommen !

We were there twice during our vacation. The Wiener Schnitzel with fries, Potato soup, beef (ox) cheeks, all very good. I can particularly recommend the shank, be careful it is the back shank and therefore larger. I ate these with potato salad and sauce. Great, don't forget to reserve your seat.

A somewhat over-the-top ambience, but cute and with lots of wood, just the way I like it as “Bavarian”. We hadn't made a reservation and were seated at the table with others; a nice way to talk to strangers. Good Bavarian cuisine plus interesting interpretations such as hot dogs with venison bratwurst! However, it was too loud for us.

According to Google, this restaurant has a very high rating (4.6 in October 2024) and rightly so. I was warmly welcomed and I really liked the way the service was served. For food: There are currently Bavarian tapas there. I can only recommend it. I ordered obazda and this bread was really great. The two guests next to me ordered several tapas and were completely thrilled. For the main course I had, depending on the season, pasta with pumpkin sauce and roasted pumpkin seeds. Simply delicious. Tip: please call them first. Luckily I was there alone, so you can always let me sit down somewhere. In my opinion, it is best to discuss this with two or more people in advance. Ambience: well-kept and has something Bavarian about it 🙂

Classic Bavarian fare that’s well executed in a cosy setting that’s perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Their Schweinebratens & kaiserschmarrn are standout dishes for me. The food here is also served up in “tapas” sizes that are smaller portions that allow you to have a couple of dishes instead of being overwhelmed by one oversized one. Prices are also okay and in line with typical Garmisch ranges.

Top food in a typical Bavarian restaurant!

We were able to make a reservation at short notice and even though it was incredibly busy, the staff was super friendly and we quickly got our reserved bench at the counter. That was really interesting because it gave you an overview. The service was quick and friendly and we felt very comfortable. Also because the food was delicious and the Bavarian tappas were amazing!!!! All in all great!!!!

We loved this place. We also visited gasthaus zu Schranne and the food is similar , maybe a tad better. Beer was great , atmosphere is wonderful , but reservations are recommended. People were turned away. Parking on the street is easy . Food came a bit to fast no time to linger and server although friendly did hover a bit perhaps to turn over the table. They accommodated our substitutions, no problems at all. They were sold out of the pork knuckle by 7pm. But plenty of good things to order. This is a must visit if in Garmisch

We made a special reservation for a knuckle dinner at Wildschütz today at 8 p.m. (due to the many positive reviews). After we were finally able to get to our table at 8:15 p.m., we were informed that roast pork and knuckle were out ☹☹☹. Unfortunately, that's what happened to half the restaurant in the later reservation round. Since we didn't want to eat the overpriced tapas, we only had a schnitzel. The food was always ok and carelessly “thrown” onto the plate. Ok at the ski hut, a no go in the restaurant. It doesn't deserve the label Wiener Schnitzel. You had to order a side salad separately. The disappointment was of course great, the service didn't help us to pick us up better (statement: unlucky, too late). Everything quickly, mass processing, tourist shed (lots of foreign guests - that's enough). Actually a nice, rustic restaurant with an atmosphere. Unfortunately, the attention to detail is missing and is certainly no longer necessary. What a shame!

Took a chance at 5:30 without a reservation. Rainy so knew beer garden would be closed. Waitress at door offered a great corner nook table until 6:30. Plenty of time. Waitress was gracious to explain in English and helpful with the order. Feeling guilty about the time nearing 6:30 we opted not to order the strudel. May have to go later just to try that wonderful looking dessert. Honestly - get the pork knuckle.

Wonderful place which celebrates German, Austrian and Bavarian cuisine to the utmost. They had the great idea to serve some of the heavier meat dishes in the form of Tapas, which are still quite big but gives one the option of ordering more. Nothing for Vegans but great for meat lovers. Would definitely go again if in the area.

Unfortunately a big disappointment for us today! We visited the restaurant because of its overall good reviews, which unfortunately we cannot understand. I had ordered a pork knuckle with dumplings and red cabbage, which was on the table after a few minutes. The crust in particular was so salty that it was simply not edible. But the meat wasn't really juicy or tasty either. Because of the complaint, the waitress in the kitchen asked and we were told that the apprentice had apparently made a mistake with the salt. The boss then asked another guest at a neighboring table, who also had knuckle, whether that was also the case with his meal, which he confirmed. In between, the waitress offered me a “schnapps” as compensation. The boss then came to us again - which was at least a gesture of effort - and explained to us that the chef had tried the crust on other knuckles and that they were okay - that is - only mine and the neighbor's were Apparently a little too much salt was applied. Sorry - but she would have better saved herself such nonsense. Especially since the sauce on the roast pork that my wife ate was also very low in salt. The “compensation” from the Obstler was redeemed when the full bill was paid - even if only one for me. In short - not for us again. I took a closer look at the reviews overall and was wondering whether they came from the many dog ​​owners who are really happy when their pet is given water and treats before the guests receive their drinks.
