My wife and I had a relaxing meal there after our boat trip around Lake Königssee. We were greeted by friendly staff, and the food and drinks arrived quite quickly, considering the number of guests. Both meals were delicious! Warm, tender, and flavorful—we had nothing to complain about. The drinks, of course, were also excellent. A personal plus for me: There were condiment dispensers on the table. We sat right by the fence overlooking Lake Königssee, and the view while eating was, of course, another little highlight.

We were there around 6:00 p.m. The large influx of guests had probably passed. Delicious beer. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the pork knuckle wasn't great; we shouldn't have ordered it. The waiter would have definitely swapped the knuckle if we'd said something earlier. It was okay, but we wouldn't order again at that time.

CASH ONLY. We were not told this on arrival, or when ordering food. We had to find a cash machine to pay and got charged €6 to withdraw cash Food was not nice. View was the only good thing

Very good location, right on the lake next to the piers. Unfortunately, this is my fourth attempt, and once again the knuckle of pork with cabbage and dumplings tastes like it's been kept warm for hours. Dried out and lukewarm. It arrived at the table just two minutes after ordering. Paired with a beer that cost over €30. Tourist trap. A shame.

Dear readers, I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Zum Schiffmeister beer garden on Lake Königssee and would like to share my impressions with you. The beer garden is located at Seestraße 34 and offers incredible views of Lake Königssee. During my visit, I opted for a cold beer and was not disappointed. The Maß (literally "middle-of-the-road beer") I ordered was truly excellent—just the thing to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings on a warm day. It was nice to see that other visitors had similarly positive experiences. Many also praised the great view and the quality of the drinks. It seems that the Zum Schiffmeister beer garden is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike. All in all, my visit to the Zum Schiffmeister beer garden was a successful experience, and I highly recommend it. We always like to stop here for something good when we visit Königsee. The traditional Bavarian food is really delicious and you simply have to have the maß. The only downside is that you can't pay by card.

First, the positives. The restaurant is in a great location on Lake Königssee. Unfortunately, for us, the negatives outweighed the positives.

2025! Card payments not accepted. Tourist inn where they're only interested in money.

The restaurant is not or barely heated, the food tastes like it came straight from the supermarket, the “cream puffs” were probably long-dry pastries (guess: so dry that they can definitely be stored for a few more years) but maybe tourists don’t notice that… Prices: 1 cheese sparrow (since Hunga doesn't do that), 1 small apple spritzer, 1 cream puff with cherry cream and ice cream, 1 hot chocolate 37.50 euros. It's better to go to conventional fast food restaurants because it certainly tastes better.

Poor service, no one welcomed us at all, disgusting faces when you asked them questions in English…

The food is not delicious, the service is also very poor, the waiters smoke around the tables, and the dining environment is not good and too dirty.

They don’t have an English menu. First they bring the food, 5 minutes later the silverware. Nobody looked over us after serving the food. Started to rain, but they wouldn’t open up the umbrella. He said: wouldn’t help much. When we wanted to pay they said cash only. Food is good but they arrogant and unhelpful…

We just had a drink. Prices, well... You can already tell that they are tourist prices (usually the prices are cheaper). What doesn't work at all: No card payment possible. Sorry, but something like this has to be offered today. It really doesn't matter whether you pay fees for this or whether your working hours count as money. But for me, card payment is a service that is a must these days.

Due to a heavy downpour, we spontaneously went to this restaurant. The friendliness and tone of the staff was unfortunately quite mixed. The plate was already cleared as we chewed the last bite. The food was rather mediocre (dry yeast dumplings, ok apple strudel, cheese spaetzle were well received by the children). The bill was hefty and then no card payment available. In a place so frequented by tourists, you really have to have it given the prices. I have little understanding of that.

Beer garden right on Königssee with a great view. Unfortunately the taste of the food was mediocre. The service was ok. Unfortunately no card payment possible, this should be standard everywhere by now. One star deducted for that.

Food tasted very good! If you like Bavarian cuisine, you will find it here. Prices are completely reasonable, the service was very nice and regularly asked if there was anything else. I've been here twice and will definitely eat and drink here a third time.

Everything completely perfect. Large portions that fill you up and are also very tasty. The view is priceless.

Great location with a direct view of Lake Königssee. I had a huge schnitzel with fries, the schnitzel was good, but unfortunately the fries weren't cooked through. There was also a side salad that was unfortunately a bit drowned in the dressing. The waitress was nice and the food came quickly. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right for me. Although the location is fantastic.

This is a restaurant I often come to when waiting for the Königssee cruise ship. Although it is not delicious, many group guests come to dine here because of its excellent location. The food is not bad! Nothing special, the beer is really good.

Staff friendly but overwhelmed. Dropped pepper shakers are placed uncleaned on the table for the next guest. Food completely overpriced for the quality. Food consists of processed products and is extremely fatty. Drinks (Cola) almost non-carbonated.

The worst tourist trap: overpriced, bad food, rude waiter, drinks of low quality and on top payments only cash without clear indications. The riesenschnitzel was uneatable due to meat that was frozen and fried in old oil. Never again, be warned of this place!

Weißbier-Zitrone falsch eingeschenkt. Kalte Currywurst. Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht! Hier kann man nur die tolle Aussicht vom Biergarten aus auf den See loben.

Meine persönliche Meinung nach einem Besuch!! Pro: -tolle Lage -gutes Bier Contra: -schmutzige Tische - Schnitzel mit Kartoffeln eher geschmacksneutral und lieblos (ging großteils retour) - relativ hoher Preis Resümee Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt in meinen Augen nicht.

Great place. We sat in the corner, there was quiet, peace and great relaxing atmosphere. Tasty beer and professional service. Love it.

A Forelle és a csülök nagyon finom volt. A kiszolgálás gyors és kedves.

Wunderschöner Biergarten direkt am Königssee. Bedienungen super nett und freundlich. Sehen direkt wo was fehlt und was man braucht. Perfekter Service. Können sich andere eine Scheibe von abschneiden.

Ich verstehe die vielen schlechten Bewertungen nicht. Wir waren 3 mal da. Das Essen war kein 5-Sterne Dinner, aber durchaus gut, schnell und freundlich serviert, die Forelle ausgezeichnet und die Aussicht phänomenal. Teuer - ja, wie alles in der Gegend.

Essen ist ganz gut, Portion ist okay. Preis Leistung ist okay. Das Besteck erinnert an einen Imbiss.. Die Stühle sind sehr hart.

Das Schiffmeister ist immer wieder eine Reise wert. Das Essen ist super und die Preise angemessen und die Gastgeber so wie das Personal immer Freundlich und aufmerksam.

Keine EC Zahlung - allerdings nirgendwo in der Region. Ist scheinbar noch zu modern. Essen war in Ordnung und schnell aber mehr auch nicht. Aussicht ist sehr schön.

Biergarten und das Lokal zentral direkt am Königssee gelegen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Bezahlbare Preise, Obstler für 2,5€, Maß für 6,99€

Schön gelegen am See,freundliche Bedienung. Die Weinschorle schmeckte nach Wasser und der Wurstsalat für ca 10 Euro schmeckte zwar nach Wurst, war aber in Wurstscheiben serviert zum selbst schneiden und dazu gab es eine bissfeste Scheibe Brot

Restaurant direkt am Königssee, sehr voll aber dennoch schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Der Außenbereich ist recht groß, was den Kellern die Arbeit ein wenig erschwert. Konnten nicht nachvollziehen das manche Gäste nach 3 Minuten wieder gegangen sind, weil der Kellner noch nicht da war. Aber das liegt vielleicht auch darn das ich selbst in der Branche gearbeitet habe. Essen war ganz okay, war ausreichend und geschmacklich okay.

Idyllisch gelegen, kräftige Preise, aber das Essen recht gut. Leider keine Kartenzahlung, das geht heutzutage gar nicht mehr…
