Very nice location and really good food! The service was also good and fast.

After the reopening, we feel at home at the Torhaus again, and the dishes have improved again. Now we're giving it full stars again. The house dressing for the salad is absolutely amazing and highly recommended, and finally, you can get small baguette slices instead of bread chips, which, by the way, were the reason we stopped going to the Torhaus Möhnesee. But it has been beautifully renovated, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is once again delicious. Now we'll gladly come back 🤗☺️

A very nice restaurant on the Möhne River. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and a beautiful fairytale garden. It's not used as a hotel, but rather as a restaurant for day trips.

TORHAUS is always an experience. I first discovered the restaurant and hotel in 1985. It was already good back then. The subsequent change of ownership was even better. Yesterday, Sunday, November 20th, another great experience. The service was stunningly good and charming. The food on offer is beyond reproach. Of course, the quality demands a commensurate price. Due to the rush, some guests may have had to wait a bit. The staff constantly tried to fill the available seats. This, incomprehensibly, led to criticism. I want to be treated as a guest and behave like one. Many thanks to the entire team for the wonderful time at TORHAUS. June 5, 2025 After the extension, another visit. Towards the evening, we were able to enjoy the new ambiance. We were truly very satisfied with everything. Lots of young, ambitious people bustled around us, ensuring the service was truly top-notch. Filippo, who served our table, deserves special mention. The food was also outstanding. Not only did the kitchen offer top-quality service, but the dishes were also beautifully presented. Unfortunately, I can't rate the rooms; we were only there to have a drink in the beautifully landscaped outdoor area. The service was very friendly and attentive, and, as I mentioned, everything is very lovingly designed. I highly recommend the Torhaus.

Highly recommended as a stopover on the Möhnesee tour...as a reward, a great selection of cakes and a very nice atmosphere.

The sculpture garden is worth seeing, as is the restaurant. Unfortunately, no one cares if a bird is locked out of the small aviary or escapes and tries to get back in to its partner. We've informed the staff and hope they don't let the bird starve outside.

A very beautiful sculpture garden. It was great fun strolling through it. I couldn't get enough of the view, and we'll have to go back to discover everything. The restaurant is very cozy and lovingly decorated inside and out. The food was excellent and not only a feast for the eyes—it also fills you up 😁. The service was very friendly and attentive. There is ample parking. Conclusion: Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

A true "well-being place" for all the senses and enjoyment with a drink or good food awaits visitors here. The Möhnesee gatehouse is located in the forest under numerous deciduous trees and, with its old half-timbered silhouette and thatched roof, has a truly sophisticated feel. The overall ambiance in the circular, landscaped garden with its many sculptures, manicured flowers, and plantings offers tranquil spots and sets enchanting "accents" for the eye from every angle.

Great food, superb ambiance, but service, at least on this day, simply poor. The food, both in terms of taste and composition, was simply divine. The venison melted in the mouth, the red cabbage was truly special... The service was terrible. The main course was forgotten for us. We had to wait 45 minutes after the starter for it. The neighboring table was served the wrong dish twice, so we skipped dessert. When we got the bill, we received an apology but no offer of compensation. The visit to Lake Möhnesee, which we thought would be the finale of our trip, was ruined! Not great, and the exciting atmosphere of the Torhaus didn't compensate for that. Hopefully, things will improve tomorrow...

A great and, above all, beautiful restaurant in the best possible setting. The staff and service were very friendly and prompt. And then, most importantly, the kitchen. It takes a very good team to cook together. And they do it really well. Finally, a plate that impresses the moment it's served, beautifully presented. And we were full, too. Plenty of parking. So, everything was top-notch.

A very attractive place with a sophisticated atmosphere in a natural setting. Friendly staff, good food, and a wide selection. There were five of us and we found a cozy corner for ourselves. The outdoor lighting is also well-designed.

We went there for dinner. My steak was perfectly cooked and the meat was really tender.

The house itself is in a simply stunning location. After the change of ownership, the food and service are no longer what they used to be. It's a shame... The portions have become smaller but more expensive, and the wait for service is very long. Thank goodness it's dim and cozy inside; I'd rather not look around too closely in the daylight.

We only visited the restaurant. Thanks to our advance reservation, we were able to enjoy a delicious lunch in a wonderful setting. Even with a dog, it was no problem. The service was very friendly, and the food, as we all know, is a matter of taste. We were all very satisfied.

Very very tasty food in a unique atmosphere/environment

Went to the Torhaus for dinner in April. What can I say... 4 people were “completely” satisfied. Very nice service, very, very tasty food. We would have liked to come back again during our holiday week - unfortunately everything was already reserved. But definitely on the next visit to the region :)

My absolute recommendation for the Torhaus Möhnesee. A feel-good atmosphere, the finest food, great taste, right down to the salad dressing. Extensive selection of drinks. Reservation was still available despite a slight delay. We felt completely comfortable this time too and will definitely come back.

An absolute highlight at Möhnesee. Ideally located for cycling tours or hikes around and on Möhnesee. Great facility and quick service. The cake, all three different versions, was really world class and very tasty.

Nice hotel in a very nice location with a very large beer garden. The staff friendly. The taste of the food was ok. The beer was non-carbonated and had to be complained about.

We were in the restaurant. I knew the gatehouse from way back and thought it would be a good trip for a special occasion. The first thing that presented itself as a problem was communication - it's almost impossible to get an employee to speak to me, there are automatic answering machines everywhere and I couldn't reach anyone during the very limited "office hours". I wanted to add 2 people to the reserved table, but that wasn't possible. In addition, you can only reserve for 2 hours and there is even a sign on the table with the next reservation. There can be no talk of relaxing enjoyment with friends because that puts you under pressure. Compliments to the kitchen - they're actually pretty quick. The food and service were OK. Nothing negative was noticed there. Maybe it's just that people here are pretty dust-tolerant - the inside of the lights and the window sills had a good layer of dust, but we thought that might be part of the rustic style. You can see it this way and that. However, the sculpture park is not accessible due to construction work, which I found very unfortunate. If that had been on the homepage, we would have come to a different date. In summary, the location is great, everything is very nicely furnished, but there is still a little bit to go before you are completely satisfied. Too bad. Kind regards.

Very tasty food and also cake with coffee

The weather finally allowed us to sit outside again, which we really enjoyed in the nice atmosphere. The schnitzel with mushrooms surprised me very positively. No sauce to drown the meat, just well-seasoned steamed mushrooms spread over the schnitzel 😋 The portions were good and the prices were reasonable. We'd love to come back.

Seit Jahren kommen wir immer wieder ins Torhaus. Das Essen ist sehr gut, die Bedienung freundlich und hilfsbereit. In letzter Zeit wurden wir mehrmals von Alina bedient, die durch ihre aufmerksames , herzliches und freundliches Verhalten die Aufenthalte besonders angenehm gestaltete. Sie ist eine herausragende Servicekraft!!

You have to see this 🎯 A restaurant in a class of its own. Selected food and drinks. Very friendly and courteous service, although the staff would have to get "mileage allowance" because the walking distances are very long. Large parking lot. Beautiful park. The fact that the gatehouse is on a thoroughfare to Arnsberg is a small drawback. Two jams would quickly remedy this 👍 Otherwise... very happy again 😉

Sehr schönes Ambiente, wurden empfohlen durch Bekannte. Ich war Samstag Nachmittag zur Kaffeetrinken da. Nech Platz nehmen kam auch direkt eine servekraft und fragte ndch meinen Wünschen. Ich bestellte um die Speisekarte die sie dabei hatte und ich wählte vorab einen Kaffee. Der Kaffee wurdede gebracht und ich fragte nach dem torhaus Kuchen. Man sagte mir ,im Inneren könnte ich schauen.ich also ins Innere'', wählte meinen Kuchen. Die thekenkraft sagte mir, ich müsse drsaussen bestellen. Draussen sprach ich eine Bedienung an. Sie sagte, sie käme. Kam aber nicht. sprsch ich eine vorbeigehende servicekraft sn. Die verwies mich an eine 3.,' die auch nicht kam. Als einige zahlen wollten , kam sie aber reihum und fragte mich dann ob dlles i.o. wäre. Leider nein.Ich zahlte dann auch meinen Kaffee und ging ca. 10 Minuten später ohne Kuchen ggessen zu haben. Schade.. er sah lecker aus. Woran es lag keine Ahnung

In principle you could stop here from morning to evening. Delicious dishes and cakes, plus an exceptionally friendly team, make your stay an experience. We felt very comfortable here. Burning calories is also very good with a few beautiful hiking routes. We can only report good things here!

Well organized restaurant with very tasty food and friendly service.

There were four of us here and we were very satisfied with the extremely friendly waitress, the food selection, the ambience and the toilet facilities. We had noodles with shrimps, 2* currywurst and a children's pasta plate. Everything was very plentiful and we were extremely full. We thought it was so delicious that we went straight had reserved a table again. We can only recommend it - we found it particularly good value for money!

The two of us ate in the restaurant there on a Saturday evening. The price-performance ratio is absurd!!! Absurdly good! Rarely have we eaten deliciously and well! No matter whether main course or dessert. Both were phenomenally good and more than okay for the price. In addition, the service that evening was courteous, friendly and, despite the relatively high number of guests, more than quick. An absolute recommendation!

We are delighted! It's been a long time since we ate this well in Germany. The service was very warm and the setting unique. We will return there in summer to enjoy nature.

It's easy to judge. Everything's fine. We didn't book the hotel. We'll start a hike or walk from there and finish off at the inn. It'll be great!

Aside from the unfriendly receptionist (who saw us at the reception and left us standing there, then came back to us with the explanation that she wasn't coming because she didn't have a free table (as a guest, I couldn't possibly know or smell that?)), the food was super delicious and the service was great. Great value for money too :)

A very worthwhile location with very friendly employees. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were served promptly and our dog was also taken care of.

I didn't sleep here and didn't want to rate the hotel, but rather the breakfast. The location itself is very nice and right on the Möhnesee. The service was super friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately I find the breakfast to be oversized. You get a three-tiered plate full of food, along with rolls, bread and a croissant. Everything on the plates is way too much. Even if you put a generous amount of toppings, there will still be something left over. Unfortunately, this is food waste because a lot of it ends up in the bin. Probably to justify the high price of around €15. It doesn't suit my personal taste. I would rather have homemade bread and selected spreads etc.

We only went there to eat. It was delicious on weekends and of course very popular when the weather was good. The parking lot is free in the area, you have to pay for parking at Möhnesee. Nice outside area. Toilets were clean.

Very friendly receptionist and operating staff. We really enjoyed ourselves there. Added to this was the delicious food. The stay there was worth it. All in all a perfect day.
