I ordered a lamb steak, but it was very tough. I asked for my meal to be cooked a little longer to make it softer. But after it was cooked again, it was even tougher. I said I couldn't eat it like that. The man, dressed in black, then told me he could only refund half the price because I had supposedly already eaten it. I explained to him that I hadn't eaten the food, I had only tasted it, and that I really couldn't eat it because it was too tough. This man spoke to me very rudely and disrespectfully and didn't even look at me while I was talking to him. He insisted on demanding my money. When I said I hadn't eaten the food and wanted to speak to the manager, he finally agreed not to charge me. Since it was already late, I couldn't order anything else because the kitchen had already closed, and I had to go home hungry.

The cognac sauce is amazing. The pommes is also delicious. It's expensive, so it takes courage to go there.

First of all, I have to say the food was good; there's certainly nothing to complain about. The prices for the meals in this class are reasonable. Unfortunately, that's it. The service was absolutely terrible; this could easily be improved. The atmosphere is loud, especially when a private party is creating a good atmosphere in the dining room. Absolutely unacceptable if it isn't communicated beforehand. Finally, my favorite topic: the completely overpriced water. I'll never understand why they sell expensive water instead of simply promoting customer satisfaction.

We visited The Lox for the first time yesterday and were thrilled! First, I have to mention the fantastic staff – incredibly friendly and accommodating. A restaurant visit often makes or breaks the difference with the service, but here everything was simply perfect. Food is good and meat is delicious but they are super overprized and prices keep increasing accordingly. Our daughters loves it there and we celebrate special occasions and we were there for her birthday where they also did a nice cake surprise for her. However I am not keen to pay such high prices for what they offer

A lot of light, but unfortunately also shade. Went there with a friend on a Friday evening without a reservation. A friendly welcome and even the offer to choose a table. One of the waitresses took care of us in a friendly and unobtrusive manner without any waiting time. The wait for the steaks we ordered was about 20 minutes, which I thought was perfectly fine. The ordered dishes were delicious!!!! What I didn't like was that the waitress never once asked if everything was OK and that no requests for additional drinks were made. Given the price level, I simply expect this level of service. Hence the 3* for the service. I also found it annoying that the tables were very close together. Overall, there is definitely room for improvement.

I had the surf and turf fillet steak, perfectly cooked with a delicate lobster topping, tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. This was accompanied by a wonderfully round Primitivo di Manduria, which, with its dark berry flavors and subtle spice, perfectly complemented it. My guests opted for another surf and turf and a rib-eye steak, which was cooked to perfection, beautifully caramelized on the outside, and wonderfully tender on the inside. The sides: truffled fries with a wonderfully intense flavor and bacon-wrapped beans that had both a bite and a kick. Refreshing drinks such as Füchschen Alt, wine spritzer, and seltzer were also available. We visited the restaurant for the first time. There is very nice seating outside. We sat inside. Our first impression was very nice, but we quickly noticed that it was incredibly warm inside. No air conditioning (at least not turned on), no open windows. Many guests had taken off their jackets. The table service lady was very nice. However, some of the employees lacked professionalism. When moving around the restaurant, guests are required to move to the side so that the waiter or server has enough space to pass them. Normally, you should let the guest step forward. A small thing, but very noticeable. When the appetizer arrived, the small bread plates with knives and napkins were stolen. The bread basket and butter were left standing (?), and no new napkins were brought. We were given new ones upon request. The food, however, is worthy of five stars. The appetizer was tomato soup with ginger and shrimp, and beef tartar. We wanted to share the tartar, but no additional plate came. We then had the filet mignon and the US beef tenderloin. Very good meat, very well cooked and seasoned. Overall, the food is excellent, and the service needs to be improved to elevate the restaurant to a higher standard.

The food and atmosphere are top-notch! The service is also excellent. Even though the steak quality is really good, I find the value for money pretty poor. It's simply too expensive compared to other good steak restaurants. Unfortunately, I can't see a 25-euro price difference per dish here.

We had a fantastic evening at Lox. The beef was perfectly cooked – cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. The service deserves special mention: extremely friendly, attentive, and professional, without seeming pretentious. What particularly impressed me: Despite the upscale ambiance, the restaurant is extremely child-friendly. A rare combination – but Lox demonstrates that the two work wonderfully together. First of all... I can't think of anything that could have been done better. My wife chose "The Lox" for a lovely dinner today, and we sat outside in a very pleasant atmosphere and enjoyed the weather. We started with a Lillet, a great combination; we stuck with it the whole evening. The starter was the variation for two with TNT prawns, tuna tartare, beef tartare, and various other dishes, perfect. For the main course, a rib-eye steak and the surf & turf with truffle mash and truffle fries, and for dessert, a top espresso and the variation with everything from the dolci menu. Everything, absolutely everything, was perfect. The service also deserves full marks from us. RESPECT and thank you for the lovely evening!

We have been coming to eat here regularly for a long time and travel from Aachen for the wonderful experience and delicious food. I love the restaurant. Service is always great, especially Timo has the best taste in wine! He also mixes great drinks. And I love the boss anyway. Just incredibly nice. Always come with a dog. Never a problem! Meat really tasty. Share side dishes. Drinks always newly created... good ideas. Nice atmosphere....a real address....also great outdoor area....definitely pre-order....always very well attended!

Nice restaurant, but I think the price is too exorbitant for what you get. Steaks were okay, but the side dish of mushrooms was unfortunately too salty and a bit burnt. It's also very tight, so you have to be careful, especially when getting up. But the TNT Pawns appetizer was delicious. And the service was nice and attentive.

The starter salad was good. Both meat dishes were excellent, as were the fries, and the other side dishes were ok. The wine was disappointing. An open Malbec, which unfortunately didn't taste like a Malbec. It came to the table in a glass, meaning no tasting, and at €11.90 per glass. What bothered me most was the neutral service, regardless of who came to the table. There was nothing personal, not a smile, not a word too many. The ambience was ok in terms of furnishings, but the music with the tormenting saxophone was not inviting. We didn't have an atmosphere of well-being. The store is too expensive for that.

We had a lovely evening at LOX. The ambience was fine, but what particularly impressed us was the food. We particularly enjoyed the starters – the TNT prawns and the scampi pan. The main courses, the sole and the beef fillet, were also prepared to perfection. The service was attentive, and we particularly noticed a gentleman in a black suit. Another plus point is that the restaurant offers halal meat. We would definitely come back if the opportunity arises.

After almost 3 years, I was a guest at The Lox again at the invitation of a friend. After a short conversation with the restaurant management, the incident from the last visit was clarified and apologized for. The ambience, the service and the food were great.

Customers of the restaurant now park in the pedestrian zone. Underground car park right next door, given the car prices that shouldn't be a problem. The restaurant thinks the neighborhood is part of the inventory and the pedestrian zone is leased as a parking lot. Where do we live please? I don't want that in my neighborhood! It's been a problem for years...just no morals. Bicycles are already being parked.

The best steak restaurant in Düsseldorf

We ate there as a couple. Reservation was easy and we were assigned a nice spot. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Unfortunately it was quite cold in the whole restaurant that evening, which somewhat ruined the great atmosphere and ambience in the shop. The food was very good. We chose fillet with side dishes and were very satisfied with the taste and quality. Food also came quite quickly without long waiting times. Service was initially uncompromising, only when we were almost finished, our plates were cleared away while we were chewing the leftovers, which is annoying and can change the cozy atmosphere. All in all, the food was delicious and the location was really nice, that's always the main thing and you're happy to pay the extra euro for that. We would come back, just hope for a warmer place.

Wir haben das Ambiente als angenehm empfunden (angenehmer Geräuschpegl), das Essen und wie es gereicht wurde war sehr gut. Bis zum Essen war der Service sehr gut, danach war Luft nach oben- für weitere Getränkebestellungen war etwas Aufwand nötig ;-) Aber wir hatten trotzdem ein netten Abend.

Wir haben zu viert einen netten Abend in The Lox verbracht. Der Service war sehr freundlich und das Essen war hochwertig und lecker. Allerdings sind die Preis -auch für D-Oberkassel- deutlich drüber. 9,90€ für 0,7 Sprudelwasser oder 8,90€ für ein Schälchen Kartoffelpüree zum 60€ Steak. Mit 360 € für 4 Personen (inkl. 40 € Trinkgeld) sind wir lediglich aufgrund der Tatsache rausgegangen, das wir nur eine Flasche Wein am unteren Ende der Preisskala und nur 2 Desserts hatten. Das ist zu teuer, um dort noch einmal zurückzukehren.

Gehobene Ausstattung. Ambiente sehr gut. Nur möchte man einen ruhigen Abend verbringen eher Fehlanzeige. 2er Tische viel zu klein bei 2 Gerichten mit Beilage und Getränken muss man ständig auf passen das nichts von den vorbeilaufendem Servicepersonal mitgerissen wird. Die Tische stehen viel zu dicht daher die Gänge sehr schmal und man bekommt jedes Wort vom Nachbartisch mit. Nicht schön.

We were there 3 years ago and again yesterday. Since yesterday it has been my favorite restaurant & we will always visit it on our anniversary. The food was a dream from start to finish.. the best scallops I've ever had, the steak was an absolute dream, half a lobster claw was simply mindblowing. And the cookie 🤤 on top of that, the staff is phenomenal. Incredibly friendly and attentive. People listened carefully and advised. We felt very, very comfortable - our impression from 3 years ago has been more than confirmed and we recommend it to everyone!

in einer Woche habe ich 2 mal dort gegessen, um sicher zu sein, dass es kein Zufall war, dass ich (beim ersten mal in Begleitung) eine wirkliche Top-Leistung erlebt habe, und zwar auf allen Ebenen. Zunächst ein freundlicher Empfang in ein gemütliches, gut eingerichtetes, sauberes und gut beleuchtetes Restaurant. Dann erhalte ich eine sehr gut bestückte Karte und eine ebensolche Weinkarte. Die Gerichte waren gut dimensioniert, die Qualität war exzellent und die Zubereitung auf den Punkt. Ja, auch so kann man ein Restaurant betreiben. Es war jeweils ein perfekter Abend, der mit einer super Nachspeise abgeschlossen wurde. Danke dafür.

I've been to many excellent steakhouses, but the quality of the steak at this restaurant was truly exceptional. The meat was perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavor—just how a steak should be. The atmosphere also left a strong impression. The ambience was stylish yet relaxed, with soft background music that pleasantly accompanied the conversations. The lighting was just right—dim enough to create a cozy atmosphere, but bright enough to fully enjoy the meal. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we felt warmly welcomed and well looked after. I was particularly impressed by the extensive wine selection. The wine list was huge and offered many quality options from different regions, making it difficult to choose—but in a good way. We stayed in the restaurant for over two and a half hours because the entire experience was so pleasant. It was my second visit and I have to say that my expectations from the first time were even exceeded. I look forward to coming back soon and once again enjoying this wonderful combination of excellent food, excellent service and pleasant ambience.

Really absurdly too expensive. Without alcohol at 70 EUR per person, Dusseldorf & Oberkassel or not, is unfortunately really much too much. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Food good too. All in all, it's above average, but the prices are so high that you feel ripped off.

That wasn't a very nice restaurant experience for me. I like to start with the positive: the food was pretty good. The waiting time between courses wasn't too long, the steak was of good quality and was nicely prepared. You can't really complain about that. However, the service is the point that plays the decisive role in my rating. Because in my opinion it was extremely bad. They were very arrogant towards me and sometimes deliberately kept me waiting for a long time. I don't know why that was like that. Nothing happened and I'm actually always very friendly. That wasn't my imagination either, a quick example: we ordered a bottle of wine for our table, I sat right next to the bottle. So when I asked for a refill, someone was already standing next to me. The waiter deliberately served everyone else at the table before coming to me. It was similar with cocktail orders. I was always ignored for as long as possible. Even when I wanted to order a taxi at the end of the evening, they initially ignored me. I had to have someone else at the table order a taxi for me. (yes, I could have ordered one myself. But I'm used to this being done at good restaurants. They often have agreements with a certain taxi provider where they get a higher priority, etc.) Cocktail orders were also a negative point regarding service. I like drinking cocktails. I could live with the fact that you couldn't prepare the one I wanted most because you didn't know what an appletini was (it's actually a standard drink for me). When I was suggested alternative options, one of which I didn't know and therefore asked what exactly it was, they couldn't even answer it. The answer was "I don't make the cocktails, so I don't know," which to me indicates poor training. Whoever is in service and sells the drinks/dishes must at least roughly know what they are selling. I wouldn't come here again - just because of the poor service. The food was good, but when I go out to eat, the service is just as important.

Pepper steak was perfectly fried, even after the first drink more were requested - and that's almost a luxury ;-) In many restaurants there is no picture or sound from the employees after the drinks and food are "delivered". It works here! All the employees are super nice, in a good mood and we would particularly like to highlight Niklas... great guy!

I had dinner at The Lox with my girlfriend. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and immediately assigned a table. We ordered cocktails that tasted really great. For dinner we ordered veal chops and beef fillet. As a side dish we also ordered mashed potatoes with truffles and fried potatoes with bacon and onions. Both dishes were exquisitely prepared and tasted excellent. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience, a visit is definitely worth it. Thanks for the great service, see you soon.

Letztes Wochenende hatten wir das Vergnügen, einen Abend im The Lox zu verbringen, und wir können gar nicht genug lobende Worte finden. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants wurden wir herzlich empfangen und zu unserem Platz auf der schönen Terrasse geführt. Unser Abend begann mit einem exquisiten Aperitif und einer köstlichen Vorspeise: Austern, die so frisch waren, als wären sie gerade erst aus dem Meer geholt worden. Zum Hauptgang entschieden wir uns beide für rotes Fleisch, und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Fleisch war perfekt zubereitet. Die Beilagen waren ebenso herausragend: Das getrüffelte Kartoffelpüree war so cremig, das mediterrane Gemüse herrlich aromatisch und der Tomatensalat war sehr erfrischend. Der halbe Hummerschwanz rundete das Gericht auf höchstem Niveau ab. Besonders erwähnenswert ist der hervorragende Service, den wir durch Rico erfahren durften. Er war äußerst aufmerksam, stets zur Stelle, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken, und ging auf all unsere Wünsche mit einem Lächeln ein. Seine Empfehlungen trafen immer ins Schwarze, und seine Freundlichkeit trug maßgeblich dazu bei, dass wir uns rundum wohlfühlten. Wir können dieses Restaurant jedem empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach einem kulinarischen Highlight und erstklassigem Service ist. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
