Awesome dining experience with nice fresh seafood and incredible appetizer seafood towers!!!

I was there with four friends. Unfortunately, the table was much too small for four people, so there was barely any room. The room was also very dark and the temperature was too high. It was quite warm, and apparently the ventilation wasn't working. Since the staff didn't speak German, communication was a bit difficult, which made ordering and communication difficult. The food, however, was plentiful and tasted okay. Overall, it was a mixed experience: good food, but the atmosphere and service could be improved.

On October 18, 2025, I ate at this restaurant with four friends. Our expectations were high because the restaurant was praised on TikTok, Google, and everywhere else, but unfortunately, those expectations weren't met at all. Of the five different people who served us, only one spoke halfway decent German, and the others barely spoke. I didn't have a thermometer with me, but I'm sure it was over 30 degrees Celsius in the room; it seemed as if the ventilation wasn't working. When the food arrived, the next problem arose: the tables are far too small. The waiter placed everything on the table and accidentally spilled a glass of water over my leg. When our meat was served on scalding, sizzling plates, it got even hotter, so we got up and left. When we complained to the waiter about the heat, he didn't understand us and simply said, "It's normal here." We left and will definitely not be coming back. Conclusion: Don't trust TikTok, Instagram, or social media in general. The best advertising is when satisfied guests spread the word about it themselves. For us it was more appearance than reality.

My visit to Reef & Beef in Düsseldorf was very spontaneous, yet a complete success. From the initial welcome to the farewell, everything was top-notch. I deliberately wanted to draw a comparison between the branch in Germany and the one in Dubai, and I have to honestly say: Everything was 100% spot on!

I've been going to Reef & Beef in Düsseldorf for years and honestly wonder why I've never written a review. It's simply my absolute go-to when it comes to steak. Top quality every time, no matter how often I go, I've never been disappointed. For me, it's a must-try when I'm craving a really good steak.

That evening, I wore my brand-new satin blazer for the first and last time. The steaks are served on piping-hot plates, splashing all over the place. It was our first (and last) time there, and no one from the service staff pointed it out. Later, we observed other (regular?) guests holding out their napkins as their plates arrived. I complained twice by email but received no response, so unfortunately, only one star! The steaks were good, but there's no parking on site, and the prices are outrageous.

Reef an Beef has long since ceased to be an insider tip. It has defended its position as the best steakhouse in Düsseldorf for many years – and there's certainly some serious competition. Unfortunately, there's one small but unfortunate change: The legendary Seafood Tower is now served in a pretty, yet shallow, dish instead of a tiered stand. While it's said that the menu hasn't changed, it's simply no longer a "tower."

I don’t know why, maybe we chose the wrong time to come, but it was my birthday. Anyway, the stuff looked a bit too serious. Maybe it’s because they think stakes is a manly food and men don’t smile? I don’t know. Last thing, prices, steaks are expensive and I get it, that’s okay, but I have a feeling that salads and potatoes are priced “10 times” the actual price, and that was dissapointing.

Unfortunately, the Reef and Beef is no longer what it once was. Aside from the lackluster service and the cleanliness of the restrooms and terrace, what was much worse was that I had stomach cramps after eating. When I got home, I was sick. I had "the best salmon in the world" as an appetizer. I hadn't eaten anything before or after my visit. It's a shame, because the restaurant was once my favorite. I won't be coming back.

Review: Disappointment across the board – no enjoyment, no service My visit to this steak restaurant was unfortunately anything but successful. From the very first glance at the table, it was clear that little emphasis was placed on cleanliness – a full, obviously used ashtray greeted us. When we asked the waiter to remove it, he simply brought another, also previously used, ashtray. The food continued this trend: My steak was practically drenched in cooking oil, so neither the meat's flavor nor its texture came through. There was no sign of perfect preparation or even culinary quality. The side dishes also seemed more like a chore. For the high prices charged there, you expect much more. The service, however, was particularly disappointing. The waiters weren't overwhelmed or stressed – rather, there was a palpable indifference. No smiles, no effort, and no attention. Conclusion: A visit to a restaurant should be a pleasure – unfortunately, this was the opposite. Bad food, unmotivated service, and poor hygiene make this steakhouse an address I would not recommend.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit. I ordered the salmon, which initially seemed fine, but shortly after eating it, I developed severe stomach discomfort. It later turned out I had food poisoning—according to my doctor, most likely from spoiled fish. This is absolutely unacceptable. Handling fresh food, especially raw or lightly cooked fish, requires the utmost care and hygiene. Apparently, this wasn't taken seriously enough here. I sincerely hope the restaurant immediately reviews its fish storage and preparation practices. This shouldn't happen—health comes first.

Best steaks! Not only in the city, I have never eaten better meat - and I have tried a lot

The food was okish but nothing more. For the price you expect it to be at least tasty. Tuna tartar was just cutted meat of tuna, dry and tasteless. Wine carte is very big but pro glass there are very few options, which are neither interesting nor tasty. At our table there was a dirty tablecloth on the chair. All this would be ok if it would cost half of the price. For this price one can find many better options in Düsseldorf.

You really feel the American steak house vibe. The food was scrumptious, but the wine list lacked a certain refinement. Would have expected more from a steak house and especially that’s selling steaks for up to €100.

We ate there surrounded by the entire 4Blocks cast – but that's not the restaurant's fault. The quality was excellent, the prices were ridiculous, it's just Düsseldorf. The side dish portions were generous, and the service was quick and attentive.

My visit to Reef & Beef in Düsseldorf was simply great! As soon as you walk in, you immediately notice: the atmosphere here is right. Modern, chic and really cozy – you immediately feel at home. The service was also great: attentive, friendly and totally relaxed. And the food? A dream! Best quality, perfectly prepared and also a visual highlight. I was particularly impressed by the selection and freshness of the food - you can tell that quality is really important here. All in all, a really great experience that I can only recommend to everyone. I'll definitely be back!

The Reef & Beef Düsseldorf is my absolute favorite restaurant. The food is always a 10/10. Large portions, lots of choice and special dishes. The service/waiters are very experienced, friendly and quick. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and you can sit outside when it's warmer, which is very nice. Highly recommended!

Reef and Beef is an extraordinary place to eat fish or meat, it has premium quality steaks and they cook it perfectly as you want it. It looks very classy and cool here. The service is very kind and gave us a box of sweets at the end.

They're probably a little spread out! I didn't say anything about dogs or cats in my review. I only reported the poor service, the completely inflated prices and the unpleasant atmosphere. You should read reviews better! If you threaten legal action, that's just an indictment.

Delicious! Not just the taste but also the sight! As is well known, the eye eats too! The truffle puree is simply a must!! Some people complain about the unfriendly service - I see it as respectful restraint. We'll definitely be back.

+ very good steaks grilled to perfection + delicious side dishes: the sweet potato fries were nice and crispy and the mashed potatoes were very fine. + the open wines (Syra and Malbec) tasted good and had a good price-performance ratio — Unfortunately, the restaurant was dirty in many places: old food was still hanging on the table lamps and the lamps were splattered with grease. The tablecloth had holes and our cutlery was unfortunately not clean. The map is greasy when leafing through... — We were served by four different waiters, which made it a bit uncomfortable. None of them served from the right. — Nobody could give us any information about the breed of cattle for the world's best fillet steak advertised on the menu. — When serving the red wine, I was supposed to try one of the two glasses, as the waiter at the counter was not told which glass had which type of wine (never experienced that before 😂) — The toilets looked run down and didn't seem clean either. There was a soggy dirty tile-look PVC material around the sink. The toilet brush holder was chipped. As a result, the restaurant did not meet my expectations as I did not feel comfortable due to the lack of cleanliness. The food was really tasty, but given the price I expected a better overall package.

An unforgettable experience! I ate Kobe beef here and as we all know it is the best meat in the world. This restaurant really knows how to prepare this exclusive meat to perfection. Every bite was a delight – tender, juicy and full of flavor! The atmosphere in the restaurant is simply impressive and inviting. I also visited the Cologne branch, as this restaurant has two locations - one in Düsseldorf and one in Cologne. Both are just perfect! All I can say is “effortlessly perfect.” It was the best meat I've ever eaten. Service, ambience, quality – everything at the highest level. I can absolutely recommend it to everyone!

The food and service is really good. I am very happy with my experience here. However, the price is too high for such quality. We spent over 100€ each person for 2 entrees and 2 appetizers. Highly recommend the jumbo scallops.

Very tasty, good service, overall good! Except that we had a table for 4 with two people, the table was used as storage during the meal. It was only put away after a tip-off. Staff very friendly. The gentleman from the valet was the best. Very friendly and helpful. Maybe there will be 5 stars next time! We'll come again.

Went there yesterday for Valentine's Day. Store full, staff overwhelmed! Guys, you charge hefty prices and the food is delicious! But waiting 40 minutes for drinks and two hours for food is not possible. So get greedy again, only fill the store as much as the staff can handle it and pay attention to service! Otherwise it will backfire, no matter how tasty (and expensive) your steaks are!

We were there yesterday. The food was some of the best we have ever eaten. Unfortunately, the service was a disaster. We were there at 8:30pm and waited 30 minutes before we could order. We then had to wait a full 1 hour and 15 minutes for our starters - even though we only ordered oysters, carpaccio and crab cake, which shouldn't have taken that long. Additionally, all three starters came at the same time, even though we specifically asked for them to be served separately as our table was very small. We then waited another 45 minutes to 1 hour for our main course. As I said, the food was incredibly delicious and we will definitely be back. Since today was Valentine's Day, there were significantly more guests than expected, which may have led to the service problems.

The price-performance ratio in this restaurant is not right at all. If I go out to eat in this price range, then I expect something similar. Everything was just too tight. You sat very close to each other and had hardly any privacy, plus the tables were super small and uncomfortable. The ambience in general could have been a little more appealing. The service was a complete disaster. The staff was understaffed and probably not well trained. We waited 1.5 hours from ordering to the main course. The herb butter we ordered only came after asking three times towards the end of the stay and in general you didn't have the feeling of being well served. Apparently there was a lot of savings on staff. The food was okay, but the steak tasted a bit too burnt. I actually expected a little more.

A family table and arguing waiters We were (unfortunately) at Reef&Beef on Valentine's Day and were extremely disappointed. The seating in the restaurant that day was more like a fast food chain - that's what happens when gastronomic greed sets in: We sat at a "table" with 8 individual tables lined up next to each other without a single centimeter of distance from our table neighbors. I can only hope that this number of tables is not always planned and was just an exception for Valentine's Day. Due to this seating situation, it was also not possible to put a wine cooler at the table - which isn't a problem if the service staff is attentive and refills regularly. You guessed it: That wasn't the case. Sometimes we had to stare sadly at our empty glass for 20-30 minutes because no waiter had been seen since then. After an interminably long wait for the main course, a small argument broke out between two waiters in the middle of the room because person A had not cleared the table as requested (as ordered by person B); All this in front of around 30 guests. All in all, we were very disappointed. The atmosphere in the restaurant, the service, the waiting time. Speaking of waiting time: the bill only came after over 30 minutes. At Reef&Beef you don't want to be paid promptly. We still give the steak 4 out of 5 stars, the quality was very good. Everyone can decide for themselves whether the entire package is worth > 200 euros for two people. We definitely won't be coming back and can't recommend it. PS: Before I use a cola glass as a flower vase because I don't have enough "real" vases, I'll leave it alone.

We ate there this evening and overall we were very satisfied with the dishes (steaks & side dishes). Unfortunately, because of the long row of tables, you weren't alone and couldn't have a quiet, undisturbed conversation. The restaurant felt crowded, which unfortunately negatively affected the ambience. The table decoration (rose in an empty cola bottle) also didn't fit in a high-quality restaurant. We had to wait about 30 minutes for the bill, which is unexpected and untypical for this high-priced restaurant. We will therefore not be coming back.

We were there on Valentine's Day and it was a complete disaster. We had to sit at a long table of 8-10 tables that were a maximum of 4cm apart from each other; conversation was not possible. The table decoration consisted of a rose in a cola bottle, if you don't want to make the effort you should leave it alone. We got drinks once in a 2.5-hour stay, but we didn't receive the second round we ordered until we got the bill. The food was okay, but not everything came at the same time and we've eaten much better meat. After more than 30 minutes, we didn't want to wait for the bill anymore and went to the checkout on our own. The waiter was friendly, but very overwhelmed. First the wrong table was cashed in, so the process took another 15 minutes. We cannot recommend the restaurant, the greed of the owner was put above a special experience for the guests, which is a shame.

Delicious high noon rib eye steak, which had to be grilled again because it wasn't medium rare. Instead of an ordered 500 gr. Steak came a 400gr. Steak.. Side dish of truffle mashed potatoes and spinach were well portioned and tasty. Unfortunately the toilets are not clean and smell unpleasant. 6 out of 27 people also experienced nausea, stomach pain or vomiting on the same evening or the next day. We didn't eat together before or after visiting the restaurant.

The food is good. Only the ambience and service could be a little better. When we were there we felt like we were just in a mediocre bar.

Price vs quality is not worth in my opinion. The restaurant was mostly empty, but we waited for our meals really long. I tried sturgeon fish with cream spinat and orange creme brulee for dessert. Fish overall was quite tasty, but side dishes were super salty, I could not eat at all. Dessert is okay, but not for such restaurant level. In terms of atmosphere, there was strong smell of food, especially steaks. So all clothes were soaked with this smell.

There are 3 stars because the food was really tasty, especially the steaks. But the service can be improved, especially when it comes to attention and good behavior. The waiters turn away in the middle of the conversation and stop listening. There doesn't seem to be much knowledge about wine and the waiters have a telephone on their belt that keeps ringing annoyingly throughout the evening. This is extremely annoying when you want to enjoy your meal and the waiter is at the table to refill the wine. No go! In addition, the restaurant is too narrow; the tables are too close together so there is hardly any privacy.

Super delicious food and first-class service

If you want something special, this is absolutely recommended. We didn't need the valet since we found a spot right in front, but I know and appreciate it from past visits there. A nice, unusual atmosphere awaited you, great service in terms of the number of staff, but also in terms of their friendliness. The quality of the food, we chose “Surf and Turf”, i.e. fish as a starter and then meat as a main course, was impressive. But you should also be aware that this has its price, but you are happy to invest it for such good food. There were two of us and we had a special experience that we would like to repeat on future occasions. When it comes to toilets, there is unfortunately still a lot of room for improvement compared to the other conditions.

Meat was great. For desert we had crembrulet orange, which was unfortunately weak, so a point was deducted.

The food and the starters were good but not more than good! And paying a price of at least EUR 50-60 for a steak and even EUR 100-120 for good is unfortunately quite overpriced and so I think Düsseldorf certainly has better steak restaurants to offer overall.
