My wife and I came to this place during our visit to Düsseldorf and we really enjoyed what we ate❤️The staff's attentiveness, cleanliness, taste, everything was perfect. Definitely give this place a try!❤️

Today (July 19, 2025) I had a very negative experience with a waiter here. Unfortunately, I don't have his name, but he has a full beard and is of southern origin. Very inattentive and even rude. I went out to eat with my daughter and ordered several dishes. When the food arrived, he served them completely dry. So, all the sauces were forgotten. I waited about five minutes, thinking something else would come. But he was just standing at the counter. I called him over. When he saw me, he realized his mistake and quickly brought the sauces himself. When I asked him if he had forgotten them, he cheekily said to me, "I have other customers here and I should be patient." How can a waiter talk to a customer like that? He definitely forgot the sauces; it had nothing to do with other customers. There were only three tables occupied in the entire restaurant at the time! Four waiters were running around for these three tables. Forgetting the sauces isn't a problem at all. But why not just say sorry instead of rudely insulting the customer by saying I don't have patience? I've noticed this waiter several times in the past. Always very inattentive and cares little about his guests or waiting times. On one of my last visits, for example, he forgot to order the main course after the appetizer. Here, too, I had to remind him, and in the end, 45 minutes passed between the appetizer and the main course. I will avoid this place in the future. I will not be using this place again.

Great restaurant, the ambiance is truly amazing and the food is world-class. The meat was cooked exactly as ordered. You can also sit outside, despite the proximity to the train station. We'd love to go back to Blockhaus!

The food has been sitting there for 15 minutes. In the end, my food got cold. When I raised the issue and asked for a new one, I was told that other people were starving. Without a discussion, I threw the plate on the floor, put on my jacket, and left. It was pure cheek.

We were there for a birthday dinner. They only casually noticed that it was a birthday dinner and spontaneously played a birthday song, lit a candle, took photos, and printed them out and stuck them on a card, which everyone signed. Everyone at our table received a glass of juice or prosciutto on the house. Thank you so much for that! It was fantastic for all of us! Thank you.

The shop looks nice and modern, and there's absolutely nothing to say about it :) What bothered me were the high prices, small portions, and the taste wasn't really worth the price. For me personally, and for the others, there's no need to repeat the experience, unfortunately.

1 of the best meals we have ever eaten! Drinks were served quickly, first we got a salad. We chose American and French dressing, and both were great (and normally we don't eat salads). Shortly after we received our Mr. Steak and Rib eye, which were both cooked perfectly as we had requested. I didn't like the potatoes that came with it, my boyfriend thought they were great. The garlic bread with it is an unexpected touch, but again very tasty. We searched all of Dusseldorf for a place that served steaks and are very satisfied with our visit! Price-quality also top!

I have eaten at several different Block Houses, and it has always been good and well prepared. The only two exceptions were at this restaurant, next to the station in Düsseldorf. The entrecote I ordered medium rare turned out to be a poor quality well-cooked entrecote with many tendons. The burger was not good and the fries served were not even average.

We sat at the bar and I can absolutely recommend the place. We shared the T-bone steak with extra fried onions. Delicious. But above all I have to praise the service… We received great service from Twana with great suggestions. Can only recommend it!

On Good Friday at 9:20 p.m. we, my wife, child and I wanted to eat a steak. The waiter, with his iPhone in his hand, without saying good evening, told us straight away “we close at 10pm”. I replied “no problem, we eat and leave” Waiter: “But we close at 10 p.m., so you have to be outside by then” I replied: “we can do it” Waiter: “They have to be out by 10 p.m., so eat quickly” As a restaurateur and restaurant owner for 20 years, I know what hospitality is and I would be happy to train this unsystematic waiter with me for free. Let me know in response to this review and I'll get back to you. And what I would like to mention is that we have already been to you 4-5 times in the last two months... so you have lost a good regular guest. I always liked to tip over 20%. Just by the way! I will not visit this restaurant again!!!

Compared to Maredo, I find the food here much more delicious. A friendly team of staff here at the main train station also ensures short wait times, and I found the price quite reasonable. Amex Platinum cardholders can use the restaurant credit at Block House.

The food at Block House was moderately tasty. However, I found both the service terrible (you had to loudly draw attention to yourself several times until you were served by the lords of creation with an annoyed sigh and/or eye roll) and the cleanliness was so-so, it's really night at night. Toilets with toilet seats covered in pee, toilet paper scattered on the floor (a bit like a dump) and the tables can also be wiped down. Food was really good, as always. Audience takes some getting used to.

I'm used to excellent service from Block House in Berlin, but my visit to Block House Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof was a big disappointment. The restaurant is located in an uninviting environment, right next to the train station, where there are many homeless people. That alone wouldn't be a problem, but the real trouble began after the meal: My partner and I had eaten for over 50 euros when, after leaving the restaurant, I remembered that I wanted to use the toilet again. However, an employee who was apparently of Indian origin refused me access on the grounds that, as a paying guest, I no longer had the right to do so. This unfriendly and customer-unfriendly attitude spoiled my entire visit. Especially with a chain like Block House, I expect a certain standard of hospitality - and unfortunately that wasn't met here. I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

Bombastic... We enter the restaurant at 9:24 p.m. and leave at 10:03 p.m., deliciously full. We wouldn't have been able to get anything anywhere else at 10 p.m. when the shops close, but here it's the finest. Thanks so much.

As always, the “steak eater community” is divided. Some people avoid the BLOCK HOUSE just like they used to avoid the MAREDO, others love it. I belong to the middle faction. If I want a good steak that has a good price/performance ratio - then I go to BLOCK HOUSE. For decades, the chain has impressed with a solid concept when it comes to the selection of food and drinks. I've never experienced a "failure". The location here is still quite young, so even Düsseldorf residents often don't know that such a restaurant exists right next to the main station. The parking situation is a bit poor, but anyone who knows how to help and/or uses one of the parking garages in the hotels next door has found a good solution. In summer there is an outdoor terrace and even though you are in the middle of the city, the corner feels quiet and uncluttered. The service team was friendly, helpful and quick during my visits in summer and winter 2024 - 2024/2025. And if you have special requests, you should make them known. Just because something isn't on the menu doesn't mean it doesn't exist. All in all, a clear recommendation and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Oh, the quality of the food? Yes, solid and good. Of course there are also steakhouses that offer “even better” steaks. You just can't get them here at these prices. By the way, the beer here was always well chilled...in that sense. Bon appetit.

The restaurant is attractively and rustically designed. When I arrived I was seated and given the menu. After a short wait I was able to place my order: a sirloin steak with coleslaw, garlic bread and fries. I also ordered garlic butter and sour cream. After about 15 minutes the food was served - but without the dips we ordered. Even after waiting five minutes they were not in sight. When I asked the waitress about it, she reacted unfriendly and replied that she had just wanted to bring the dips and that I should be patient. Although the restaurant was sparsely busy at the time - with five wait staff and a manager on duty - the service left a lot to be desired. The food itself was disappointing: lukewarm, the fries tasted like they had been fried several times and the steak was well done even though I ordered it medium rare. The baguette was soft yet crispy, and the coleslaw was outstanding. I've had much better experiences at Block House.

If there had been more stars for food and service... They all deserve it. A must for all steak fans...

Great service, great steaks - need I say more?

It's incredibly full there and you have to make a reservation, otherwise you'll wait at least 1/2 hour. However, I have to say that the food there is excellent! I ate the best steak of my life there because it was cooked perfectly. I can only recommend it.

Tested two evenings in a row, which is already a good sign. Excellent meat and cooked as requested, very generous salad as a starter included. Very good choice of wines by the glass. The place is certainly a little too noisy but I enjoyed it and the service is fast and quite friendly.

Block House is my favorite restaurant - and I'm a vegetarian I can recommend everything here. The waitresses are friendly and very competent. The food comes quickly and is always good. The prices are also fair. Even the toilets are very pleasant. Even if you're a vegetarian, there's plenty of choice, no need to construct any vegetarian steaks or anything. And all of this in a noble ambience.

The Steak was the best thing i ever ate. I ate the Filet Mignion. Everything was perfect.

We went to the Block House at the main station with friends for the first time. The service was extremely good, which makes me happy, and the atmosphere was very nice. The mixed salad was freshly prepared and crunchy and tasty. For steak I had the Rib Eye Mastercut, which was fried to a medium medium throughout, but the quality still had room for improvement. Then the absolute impudence of the supposed pepper sauce. A sweet broth with scattered peppercorns. Every packet of soup tastes better. An absolute disgrace for a steakhouse. If you can't do it, you should ban something like that from the menu.

My impression of the blockhouse at Düsseldorf main station was rather medium good. Service was extremely fast and well trained, but there was a certain warmth or friendliness missing. When it comes to a log cabin, I expect a perfect steak in terms of taste. Here I have to say, it was good, but not very good. The cooking level I ordered: medium rare was perfect. In terms of price, it is in the upper middle class. I haven't been to the log cabin for many years and today's visit doesn't make me want to do it again in the near future. It was okay but for the money I could eat well or better somewhere else.

I had the sirloin meant to be cooked medium. It was overcooked, dry, and didn't have much flavor. The backed potatoe and bread were okay. The service was very slow and the restaurant was loud.

Having been to a Blockhouse Restaurant more often recently, this visit surprised us very positively. A customer service employee is still alive. A perfect evening in both service and food.

Very friendly telephone contact when making the reservation. This continues in the restaurant. (Apparently the restaurant manager) The restaurant seemed clean and the ambience was completely ok for a normal dinner. At first glance the food was also reasonably priced. Overall, the food tasted good. I'm not a big eater and unfortunately I wasn't really full despite the starter. After the waiter apparently didn't receive a tip in the amount he had apparently hoped for, we were dealt with quickly and coolly. But we were given a very friendly farewell by the restaurant manager.

When there is little activity, attentive service with a good price/performance ratio

We are Block House fans and so yesterday was our first time in Düsseldorf. Excellent here too. Service, ambience, food quality and additional services are excellent and high-class! Absolute top address - recommended without reservation!

I had a wonderful stay here! I felt not just a guest here, but a friend of the house. The service orientation and warmth of the employees is far above average and left a lasting impression on me during my visit today! The team works great together, every guest is treated so politely - I rarely experience something like that! Even though I was alone, I felt like I was at home with good friends. The quality of the food - as we know at Block House - is definitely worth 5 stars! My steak was prepared exactly how I wanted, fries and salad were perfect, as were the starter and my drinks just right. I'm looking forward to coming back!

I ate there with my family today and the food was very good and tasted very good. The service was very nice and served us relatively quickly, maybe because it wasn't that busy, but still good. The ambience is super nice and stylish. It's worth a visit.

Ate here with my best friend, I haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time, wow, compliments to the chef and the servers, how hard these people work, the restaurant was full of 3 to 4 people who were just running and everything was still complete. under control! And once again the food was really delicious, I definitely recommend it. I came during my holidays during the Euro in June two evenings in a row. Very warm welcome, the dishes were delicious. Very good address if I ever come back to Dusseldorf.

I had a pleasant visit to this steakhouse! The restaurant was clean and we had the pleasure of sitting outside, which was really pleasant on a lovely lunchtime. The staff was very friendly and responded to our wishes. The steak wasn't the best I had in Düsseldorf, but it was still totally sufficient and well prepared. All in all a nice place for a relaxed lunch. I'd love to come back!

I often go to Block-House and am always happy with the meat. Therefore a visit during a short stay in Düsseldorf. The goose season opened today in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the chef probably still needs to practice a bit. First, the "crispy goose" according to the menu was not crispy. Then a little too burnt, as you can see in the photos.

Staff nice and accommodating. The salads are always fresh and appetizing. The steaks were grilled really delicious. For dessert, Giovanni now serves ice cream, which is of very high quality. For a ball that deserves the name, and in a restaurant at a price of €2, you can't complain. That alone would give me 6 stars. Please keep it up and stay as you are. Kind regards, Siegfried Gollatz

I have eaten from Block House in many different cities. You get the same taste. Very successful.

Food and service depend heavily on the respective shift. As with all branches, the furnishings are a bit outdated. It's a shame because there's potential for more.

We got lost in Düsseldorf. We actually wanted to go to the block house near the Rhine and ended up at the train station. Man good!! Super clean and quiet. Great service and very tasty food.

Very expensive for little meat. The dog bones that are served here should not normally count towards the weight of the meat! Service was unfriendly after I asked why there was an empty bone on my plate.

The three of us spontaneously went to the restaurant on Friday evening. Even though it was really full, the nice young gentleman at reception organized a table for us. Within 10 minutes we had the menu and drinks. My steak was cooked just right, the side dishes were good and the waitress even brought extra sour cream for the baked potato without asking. Salad fresh and crunchy. Garlic bread is also very tasty. Even though it was really full and loud (it was the REHA trade fair in Düsseldorf and there were some people with special needs in the restaurant), all the service staff were nice, friendly and in a good mood. Price-performance ratio is right.

As in every Block House we have been to so far, super nice and fast service, delicious food and with a parking garage right around the corner, very easy to reach for inner city conditions. We always like to come by for a good steak!

We were there on Saturday afternoon with 5 people. We wanted to enjoy the wait for my grandson (who enjoyed the Deutsche Bahn) with a drink. We were also allowed to sit down and order the drinks. When they came and we didn't order any food, Prudence was kindly informed that you have to say something like that in advance, as only guests with food orders are welcome here. All I can hear is the catering industry complaining that no guests are coming. It doesn't surprise me anymore. I'm thinking about whether I should still visit restaurants.

The rudest waiter in Germany I was shocked when the waiter, before handing me the card terminal, asked if I could give a small tip. I nodded in confusion (I thought a little was a few euros) and he entered the tip amount, hiding the terminal from my eyes. The amount was far too much for Germany. To be honest, very unpleasant. I think such rude people should not tip at all. I hope he is now happy with his forceful way of getting tips. I will never come to this place again because of such attitude. Btw waiters in Germany paid well

I went there for the onion soup! It was delicious! And salad was also very fresh and delicious! In terms of hygiene I didn't notice anything, everything was great! The staff was very nice and quick because I have to get to the train quickly🚄

At first I was skeptical because of the main station location. But the Blockhouse is set back a bit, has a nice terrace and since it is right next to the Federal Police building, you feel safe there even in the evenings. The food (Mrs. Rumpsteak) was excellent. We haven't eaten such a good, juicy steak in a long time. You can't do that at home. The service was very courteous and friendly. Ms. Raushan served us together with a second service person. There was a handwritten greeting on the bill, perhaps a phrase that every guest receives, but we still thought it was a very personal and beautiful gesture that brightened our evening. The prices are reasonable for the quality. It was our wedding anniversary - and we didn't regret being here. Gladly again at any time!

⚠️Warning! Food poisoning A few days ago I was in this restaurant and at first we received a friendly welcome. However, the waiter was very pushy and asked several times to try the mushroom sauce. So we took the steak and the sauce. I then had vomiting and intestinal problems that lasted overnight. The mushrooms tasted rotten and had a strange smell! The toilets were very unhygienic. We wanted to have a nice vacation in Düsseldorf. The restaurant should be closed due to poor hygiene! What a disgrace. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone!
