Everything is very harmonious. The staff is super attentive and accommodating. The food is very authentic and delicious. A definite recommendation!

Extremely good Peking duck. The a la carte menu is also very tasty. Okay, the menu certainly takes some getting used to, but it's something different. The dishes were all delicious and had a unique flavor. This isn't your run-of-the-mill Chinese buffet—but that's precisely why it's highly recommended. The service was friendly and courteous; we felt very comfortable.

Outstanding service, I would say the best I have had in Dusseldorf in comparable price category. Waiters were very friendly, polite and attentive. Dishes are meant for sharing and were very delicious. Cutlery and glasses are very creative. Finally, there is enough space between the tables. Loved it and will definitely come back!

An evening at the Green Light District is more than just food. It's a carefully staged journey through flavors, atmosphere, and aesthetics. We had the original 7-course menu. According to our waitress, it's no longer available. It was all the more wonderful that we were able to experience it. Each course was well-thought-out, creative, and excellently prepared. No gimmicks, but genuine craftsmanship with soul. Our waitress accompanied us perfectly throughout the evening. She explained each course clearly, shared the background information, and knew exactly when to be present and when not to be. I've rarely experienced such good service. The location is urban, stylish, and clean. Plenty of atmosphere without seeming overly pretentious. The restaurant's price is in the higher range. But considering what you get for that, it's more than justified. The taste, presentation, and service are at a level you'd otherwise struggle to find. In conclusion: A harmonious overall experience. Great food, inspiring service, and a special atmosphere. If you want a culinary experience, this is the place for you.

Great ambience, great service and really delicious food

A Chinese restaurant that stands out from the crowd. The newspaper-style menu is striking in that it doesn't contain the vast array of dishes often offered in Chinese restaurants, which in reality differ only in the sauces. We ordered various dishes in a larger group and then tasted and ate them all, true to Chinese style. Each dish was uniquely prepared. The pre-ordered Peking duck was carved at the table, just like in China, and served authentically with the skin specially prepared and small pancakes. All dishes were freshly prepared, including the desserts. We believe we can judge the quality of the food well, as we are a multicultural family with a Chinese background and often cook Chinese food ourselves on a daily basis. The young children present felt welcome. Their requests were very attentive, and their lively behavior didn't bother them. There's certainly room for improvement in terms of ambiance. But in China, the quality of the food is what matters most. And that's what you get here. That's why we didn't mind paying such a high price.

The best thing first...if you have an appetite for Peking duck, you usually have to order it one or two days in advance...I don't know if I'll still have an appetite the day after tomorrow...at Green Light District, on the other hand...if you have an appetite for Peking duck, you'll get it...and what a duck...that was the finest thing I've eaten in recent times...just like the starters...all perfect, even the food from the neighboring tables looked great...not to mention the very attentive and prompt service...Thank you

The experience was pleasant! It's open late, and their food is delicious. I didn't have high expectations because it's very different from what I usually eat, but everything there was delicious. I loved it, and they played very relaxing music. The service was also excellent! I would come here again!

A very interesting concept. The newspaper-style menu took some getting used to at first, but the dishes didn't disappoint. I love that they explain the menu and even mention the province where they come from. The dishes change every six months, and this won't be our last visit. A more upscale experience, but the flavors are impressive. The entire interior design is also exciting and different. The service was friendly and open to comments.

We stumbled upon it by chance, looking for a restaurant open on Mondays – and we couldn't stop marveling: a wonderful ambiance, a very original menu, incredibly friendly and professional service, and – last but not least – a first-class culinary experience! Full marks!

The duck menu is highly recommended and is very similar to the Peking duck you'd expect from China. The a la carte menu, however, is overpriced and offers nothing more than mediocre Asian cuisine. Dishes are described in great detail on the menu, but they don't even come close to living up to this claim.

My visit here was a huge disappointment. The ambiance and concept are very cool, the service is also very friendly, but the food is prepared without any love or technical know-how. The tasting menu started solidly, and all the subsequent courses after the first are only visually creative, but in terms of taste, the chefs don't know whether they're cooking Chinese food or trying to adapt to the German clientele. The result tastes like the worst of both worlds and doesn't do either right. The majority of the dishes were sweet, and on top of that, three of the seven courses were amateurish desserts; there's a complete lack of culinary balance. I wish they had focused on four good courses, but the result was a three-hour ordeal. Only the cocktails were really very good. Please spend your money at the numerous good Chinese restaurants in Düsseldorf and not here.

We've been wanting to eat authentic Peking duck for a long time. Flying to China was too far for us, so we looked for something nearby ;-) There are a few places in Düsseldorf that offer it, but the Green Light District particularly appealed to us. The prices were more reasonable than elsewhere, and the photos looked very interesting. Of course, we were worried that there might not be enough – but I can't confirm that. There was enough, you'll definitely be full, and it was delicious! What bothered us a little were the surcharges for drinks. You get the feeling that the place refinances itself through the wines and spirits – which is a bit of a shame. If the drink prices were a bit more reasonable, they might even be more "drinky." 😉 We drank wine, beer, and regular drinks – they were pretty expensive. In the end, I ordered another shot glass without even looking at the price – €11! I was desperately searching for gold leaf in the glass.

Inside the women's restroom, there's a sophistry on the door that forbids the "rapist," just like a eunuch who likes to "shit" inside, no wonder the restaurant's business is dismal.

The ambience takes some getting used to, let's say, but as we all know, taste isn't debatable. Unfortunately, things continued that are certainly debatable. Waiting at 1.30 despite a reservation until a soup that was only lukewarm was not ok. Service couldn't be called because they unfortunately don't have guests in sight. The Peking duck was ok, but not a highlight. Unfortunately, no follow-up was made here either because the service ignored the guest. All in all, far too expensive for what is on offer. And bad service unfortunately ruins every meal. Conclusion: cooking yourself is also an option

Funny menu, attentive service and very tasty non-alcoholic cocktails. Unfortunately, the portion size is far too large for a table of two people, but I can imagine it serving four or more! We enjoyed it and were pleasantly surprised.

Everything was intentional and not thought through. Service was generally attentive but hardly trained. The food was not an experience for the price. Some of it just isn't fresh.

Bobo chicken and crispy duck are both super delicious! I love the crispy meat buns, but it would be even better if it can be paired with spicy oil! Moreover, the southerners finally tasted the legendary snowy bean paste, which was really satisfying. While waiting for the food, I heard the sound of beating egg whites with chopsticks in the kitchen. I really want to say thank you to the chef for making this dish. Hahaha. I really recommend everyone to try it. You will definitely not regret it☺️

Were there with a bunch of friends and hat the chance of trying so many dishes, including some that have not been listed to the menu yet. Most of which were creative and tasty! And Peking duck was served with live cutting. I was amazed by all the glasses served, the dragon tears was a really eye catchy non-alcohol drink. The rioja was excellent! We will come back very soon.

Overall, the Peking duck menu was successful and is definitely an experience. Some of the courses are served at the same time and not one after the other - it takes some getting used to. If you're looking forward to an Asian beer, you'll get your money's worth here. However, if you are looking forward to the dessert, you may be disappointed without notice (!) - instead of coconut ice cream there was matcha. The service staff was friendly and attentive.

The best Northeastern food! ! The Guobao Pork and Snowy Bean Paste are very authentic! ! The braised chicken goes especially well with rice. The fried rice cake chicken feet are particularly crispy and have a strong barbecue aroma, which is perfect for eating with wine. As expected of Northeastern cuisine, the portions were large. The three girls ordered three dishes and a dessert and were so full that they still had some leftover. The decoration style and BGM are very comfortable and comfortable, and the attitude of the boss and waitress is also very friendly. It is really a Chinese restaurant that Chinese people are proud of in every aspect! I would strongly recommend it to every friend who comes to Dusseldorf!

We had the Peking duck menu. The duck itself was quite tasty, but unfortunately it was downgraded by attempts at modernization. Service was okay. Here's a little more detail: The wraps/pancakes for the Peking duck were way too fluffy and had a lot of egg flavor. In my opinion it doesn't fit, I would prefer the traditional ones. The sugar on the duck skin didn't go well either. If it had been caramelized again with the flame it could have been interesting, but the consistency was simply inappropriate and unnecessarily “untraditional”. In addition, three courses were served at the same time in our 5-course menu: duck, duck skin, and noodles. That's a no-go for me. If I order a 5-course meal, the courses should come in the appropriate order and not at the same time. Having to eat so much at once that half of it gets cold... The service wasn't very proactive and when we asked for a dip to go with the dumplings, they forgot about us - we had to ask again after a few minutes and the dumplings were only lukewarm. If the price was appropriate for the service, it would probably be four stars, but given the prices the performance is simply too poor, hence three stars. We cannot recommend the restaurant more highly.

The dishes are very unique and the atmosphere is great!

Duce ranks as the most delicious northern specialty dish. We especially recommend the Northeastern Pot Pork + Snowy Bean Paste and Xi'an Roujiamo. The meat used in the pot is super good. It is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce is delicious and delicious. The ones I eat in Northeast China are exactly the same. All their fried dishes are not greasy at all. I was even more surprised by the Xuemian Sanpin. Each of the three flavors has its own merits. Although it is a dessert, it is not sweet or greasy at all. The taste is very special and the portion size is very special. It’s also very big, so I’m full of it! It is very suitable for a few friends, couples or a family to gather for dinner. The environment is quiet and elegant, and the decoration atmosphere of exquisite private dishes gives the Chinese restaurant a good reputation!

Small but nice restaurant. Very easy to see in the dark, especially thanks to the red light. Service and food were definitely good. We had noodle soup with beef and steamed buns twice. It was really good, we will definitely come back.

The ambience was a bit “shabby”. Many of the neon signs didn't work and a lot of the toilets were broken too. We had the duck menu. The duck was perfect. Unfortunately, everything got cold too quickly or was already cold. The small pancakes were not enough to use the remaining ingredients, the duck was very small for two people. We didn't get enough. 67 euros per person including the three small dumpings is simply not justified.

The boss personally came to help recommend dishes. Even if he ordered snowy bean paste, his attitude was still very good~😊

We had reserved a table in the red room. Our table was not available just in time for the reservation. We were asked to wait at the bar where there were no chairs or drinks for us. After 30 minutes we were taken to the white room, which has the feel of a canteen. After another 10 minutes of waiting, a waiter actually came (we are now at 40 minutes without a drink or menu) who warned us straight away that the Peking duck was sold out (even though we had stated it when making the reservation). After another 10 minutes of waiting for the waiter to clarify whether the duck was actually gone, we left.

This is by far one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The atmosphere was amazing and it almost felt like one of the districts in Shanghai with all of the red lights. I also loved the idea of having the menu look like a newspaper. The food was delicious and I was very positively surprised by the cocktails, which you absolutely have to try if you go there. We had a nice little chat with the owner and she's super friendly. Overall, the service was super fast. The prices are definitely on the heavier side, but I think it's worth the experience.

Great food, but above all, super nice service.

If you wanted to try something new or innovative, this might be the right place. However, the menu is way too difficult to follow. I would like to relax after work, not read something like this for years. If you like some Instagram style then this is definitely fantastic as you could experience something different and everything looks so exotic. However, the food is not special. And the portions are really very tiny. With the price you could go to other Chinese restaurant and enjoy much better or more authentic food. The service was wonderful at the beginning. But we had problems making payments because we couldn't make contactless payments on three cards with the device. There was a waiter who was so aggressive and unfriendly, as if we didn't want to pay. In the end the card was inserted and obviously showed that the problem was not ours. If the payment went smoothly, I wouldn't actually write a review. But that ruined our moods.

Peking duck was very good. Well prepared and interesting side courses. Cocktails are exotically good, but a bit expensive (15-20€).

Wow, what an unforgettable evening in the Green Light District! We pre-booked the Peking Duck menu and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. First we treated ourselves to a cocktail - an absolute must! If you're wondering what Asian cocktails taste like, you've come to the right place. I had a refreshingly hot “Empire Women” flavored with chili – not for the faint of heart! The jasmine cocktail was also an aromatic highlight.The Peking duck menu was simply outstanding. It started with a strong soup that was pre-cooked for 20 hours - an intense taste experience! The dumplings were a treat that shouldn't be missed. The absolute highlight of the evening was the duck, which was carved by the chef right in front of us. I have never eaten such perfect, tasty duck in my life! The skin was crispy, the meat tender and pink - simply heavenly. There were also Asian pancakes, a delicious soy sauce and crunchy vegetables. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the sensational noodles in soy sauce arrived - I was blown away! After a short break, we were served a pineapple dessert, which was the perfect end to this extraordinary evening. Service and atmosphere were simple outstanding! An all-round successful experience that I can only recommend to everyone. I can't wait to come back!

Based on the reviews and a personal recommendation, we were really looking forward to our Peking duck menu in the Green Light District - especially because I wanted to introduce my companion to this great dish. 1. The ambience is really cool and modern - something I would like to see more of in Chinese restaurants. Modern, high-quality concepts can bring Chinese food to a higher price level with appropriate quality. 2. The food - unfortunately only the serving process, including the preparation at the table, is reminiscent of the original meal. The meal, on the other hand, is unfortunately not a classic Peking duck - not the thin skin is served in sufficient quantities, but the whole meat. In a full sequence, the meat would be served chopped up in a lettuce leaf. The sauce and dough of the pancake are also not the classic shape. Overall I was unfortunately disappointed. Green Light District would be better off serving the traditional form of Peking duck in this lovely setting. Anyone who is well versed in true Chinese cuisine would otherwise be disappointed! I would only offer normal cutlery upon request - original chopsticks and Chinese spoons are simply more authentic.

We were in the red room. The food was high quality and very tasty. It was explained to us where the dishes/sauces come from. I can highly recommend the mocktails.

We booked the 8-course menu for a business meal and were initially quite happy with how our waitress presented the process. However, when we discovered some (!) maggots on the dish in the first course, we were a bit shocked. We noted it and received improvements. We received this part of the corridor again after a while of waiting. Unfortunately, we discovered maggots on the dish again at first glance and had to point it out again. Not exactly the optimal setting for this occasion. No further improvements were made. Unfortunately, due to deadline pressure, we were unable to change location. We received drinks on the house, but had to pay in full for the entire (!) menu. The 8-course menu was extensive, but some dishes were not particularly imaginative. The store's decoration was cool, but looks much more impressive on social media. Personally, I was a bit disappointed with the “speak-easy” character of the concept, as this is interrupted by a semi-transparent curtain decorating a large window facing the street. I wouldn't book it again as it didn't live up to our expectations and we were a bit disgusted the rest of the evening.

In contrast to most Chinese restaurants in Europe, which serve southern and southwestern Chinese specialties (such as Hong Kong cuisine, Sichuan, Shanghai or Wenzhou cuisine), here northern Chinese cuisine is presented in a playful way. The concept and implementation are excellent. The ambience and facilities are surprisingly fresh and photogenic. The service is courteous! The dishes are a bit too sweet for my taste, but I am sure that the kitchen will cater to individual requests. The restaurant deserves a star if the standard is maintained. Kudos to the young lady who served us. Thumbs up and an absolute recommendation!

Reserved a table here for dinner with a business partner to eat the famous Peking duck. The atmosphere is very stylish. Everything is red, illuminated Chinese characters on the wall. The path to the toilet and the toilet itself are also well done. Everything is consistent. The staff is friendly and immediately available to help with any requests. The Peking duck as a menu is awesome. Very tasty, crispy rolled in a thin pancake with strips of vegetables and delicious sauce. A poem. We also had wine, which also went well. It felt like it was not a place that ordinary people could visit~ But after trying it, both the taste and the visuals were unexpectedly good! We had the duck menu, once normal and even vegan and both were really delicious! With the vegan menu I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Here the duck was replaced by tofu (of course only recommended for people who like to eat tofu). My friend's duck menu was also very good, with duck being carved at the table. The service was great and the ambience is also very nice. If you come on the weekend and want to eat a menu, you must reserve in advance, preferably online.

Blinded by the positive reviews, the dinner was unfortunately inedible. The ambience is extraordinary & a lot of love has been put into the details! However, if you take a closer look, it is cheap seating that is illuminated in red. The food was absolutely not to my taste and the price was only justified for the quality of the presentation. A pity.

We went to this place for lunch and the website said ‘duck lunch’ but when we arrived we found out that there is no duck on the lunch menu which was a bit disappointing. + cool atmosphere with walls painted in red for a date but maybe not for a daytime + amazing service (the guy in glasses was very friendly) + the way the tea was served was very cool -+ we ordered a salad and noodles : salad was a total disappointment and we could not eat it but noodles were ok Overall, I would maybe come for a dinner date to give this place a second try.

Cool restaurant with lofi music and good service.. we were there for lunch, the dishes cost between 10 and 20€ and are therefore rather cheap.. However, I have eaten better Chinese (in Düsseldorf), so unfortunately only 4 stars. .the tea was very good
