Green Light District 红灯区 in Düsseldorf

The ambience was a bit “shabby”. Many of the neon signs didn't work and a lot of the toilets were broken too. We had the duck menu. The duck was perfect. Unfortunately, everything got cold too quickly or was already cold. The small pancakes were not enough to use the remaining ingredients, the duck was very small for two people. We didn't get enough. 67 euros per person including the three small dumpings is simply not justified.

The boss personally came to help recommend dishes. Even if he ordered snowy bean paste, his attitude was still very good~😊

We were super happy with the duck menu and the other dishes were also great. The presentation of the courses and the ambience were great. We really enjoyed it👏🏼

We had reserved a table in the red room. Our table was not available just in time for the reservation. We were asked to wait at the bar where there were no chairs or drinks for us. After 30 minutes we were taken to the white room, which has the feel of a canteen. After another 10 minutes of waiting, a waiter actually came (we are now at 40 minutes without a drink or menu) who warned us straight away that the Peking duck was sold out (even though we had stated it when making the reservation). After another 10 minutes of waiting for the waiter to clarify whether the duck was actually gone, we left.

The very best Peking duck I have ever eaten!

This is by far one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The atmosphere was amazing and it almost felt like one of the districts in Shanghai with all of the red lights. I also loved the idea of having the menu look like a newspaper. The food was delicious and I was very positively surprised by the cocktails, which you absolutely have to try if you go there. We had a nice little chat with the owner and she's super friendly. Overall, the service was super fast. The prices are definitely on the heavier side, but I think it's worth the experience.

We celebrated the birthday with the experience menu - and it was the best choice! Great food, friendly and courteous service & a great place (red room). The owners are giving detailed explanation and take the time for every guest. We can only recommend this place, especially when you want to try something extraordinary. Thanks for having us!!!

Great food, but above all, super nice service.

If you wanted to try something new or innovative, this might be the right place. However, the menu is way too difficult to follow. I would like to relax after work, not read something like this for years. If you like some Instagram style then this is definitely fantastic as you could experience something different and everything looks so exotic. However, the food is not special. And the portions are really very tiny. With the price you could go to other Chinese restaurant and enjoy much better or more authentic food. The service was wonderful at the beginning. But we had problems making payments because we couldn't make contactless payments on three cards with the device. There was a waiter who was so aggressive and unfriendly, as if we didn't want to pay. In the end the card was inserted and obviously showed that the problem was not ours. If the payment went smoothly, I wouldn't actually write a review. But that ruined our moods.

We had the Peking duck which was great! And the service was also 1a. We'll definitely be back! 😊

Peking duck was very good. Well prepared and interesting side courses. Cocktails are exotically good, but a bit expensive (15-20€).

The Asian restaurant is definitely interesting. We imagined the furnishings to be a little different, but rather simple. However, the food was tasty and the service was good too.

Can't understand the bad reviews of the China experts who write here, the food was not only delicious but also a real experience, and it was served by the most personable lady you could wish for in a restaurant. My family and I were very excited. I never actually write reviews, but I don't think a rating of 4.4 is justified; it should be significantly higher.

Wow, what an unforgettable evening in the Green Light District! We pre-booked the Peking Duck menu and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. First we treated ourselves to a cocktail - an absolute must! If you're wondering what Asian cocktails taste like, you've come to the right place. I had a refreshingly hot “Empire Women” flavored with chili – not for the faint of heart! The jasmine cocktail was also an aromatic highlight.The Peking duck menu was simply outstanding. It started with a strong soup that was pre-cooked for 20 hours - an intense taste experience! The dumplings were a treat that shouldn't be missed. The absolute highlight of the evening was the duck, which was carved by the chef right in front of us. I have never eaten such perfect, tasty duck in my life! The skin was crispy, the meat tender and pink - simply heavenly. There were also Asian pancakes, a delicious soy sauce and crunchy vegetables. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the sensational noodles in soy sauce arrived - I was blown away! After a short break, we were served a pineapple dessert, which was the perfect end to this extraordinary evening. Service and atmosphere were simple outstanding! An all-round successful experience that I can only recommend to everyone. I can't wait to come back!

Based on the reviews and a personal recommendation, we were really looking forward to our Peking duck menu in the Green Light District - especially because I wanted to introduce my companion to this great dish. 1. The ambience is really cool and modern - something I would like to see more of in Chinese restaurants. Modern, high-quality concepts can bring Chinese food to a higher price level with appropriate quality. 2. The food - unfortunately only the serving process, including the preparation at the table, is reminiscent of the original meal. The meal, on the other hand, is unfortunately not a classic Peking duck - not the thin skin is served in sufficient quantities, but the whole meat. In a full sequence, the meat would be served chopped up in a lettuce leaf. The sauce and dough of the pancake are also not the classic shape. Overall I was unfortunately disappointed. Green Light District would be better off serving the traditional form of Peking duck in this lovely setting. Anyone who is well versed in true Chinese cuisine would otherwise be disappointed! I would only offer normal cutlery upon request - original chopsticks and Chinese spoons are simply more authentic.

We were in the red room. The food was high quality and very tasty. It was explained to us where the dishes/sauces come from. I can highly recommend the mocktails.

We booked the 8-course menu for a business meal and were initially quite happy with how our waitress presented the process. However, when we discovered some (!) maggots on the dish in the first course, we were a bit shocked. We noted it and received improvements. We received this part of the corridor again after a while of waiting. Unfortunately, we discovered maggots on the dish again at first glance and had to point it out again. Not exactly the optimal setting for this occasion. No further improvements were made. Unfortunately, due to deadline pressure, we were unable to change location. We received drinks on the house, but had to pay in full for the entire (!) menu. The 8-course menu was extensive, but some dishes were not particularly imaginative. The store's decoration was cool, but looks much more impressive on social media. Personally, I was a bit disappointed with the “speak-easy” character of the concept, as this is interrupted by a semi-transparent curtain decorating a large window facing the street. I wouldn't book it again as it didn't live up to our expectations and we were a bit disgusted the rest of the evening.

In contrast to most Chinese restaurants in Europe, which serve southern and southwestern Chinese specialties (such as Hong Kong cuisine, Sichuan, Shanghai or Wenzhou cuisine), here northern Chinese cuisine is presented in a playful way. The concept and implementation are excellent. The ambience and facilities are surprisingly fresh and photogenic. The service is courteous! The dishes are a bit too sweet for my taste, but I am sure that the kitchen will cater to individual requests. The restaurant deserves a star if the standard is maintained. Kudos to the young lady who served us. Thumbs up and an absolute recommendation!

Reserved a table here for dinner with a business partner to eat the famous Peking duck. The atmosphere is very stylish. Everything is red, illuminated Chinese characters on the wall. The path to the toilet and the toilet itself are also well done. Everything is consistent. The staff is friendly and immediately available to help with any requests. The Peking duck as a menu is awesome. Very tasty, crispy rolled in a thin pancake with strips of vegetables and delicious sauce. A poem. We also had wine, which also went well. A successful evening and can also be described as an event. Well done.

Super delicious! In the past, I was intimidated by the decoration and the two doors. It felt like it was not a place that ordinary people could visit~ But after trying it, both the taste and the visuals were unexpectedly good! Including drinks, which cost NT$40 per person, so it’s not expensive even if you can’t walk~ It’s just that you need to book what you want to eat a day in advance, and you can only eat what you want when you go directly to the store~ (but they are all delicious)

Fantastic dinner at Green Light District! The restaurant is uniquely beautifully designed, we sat at the front in the Red Room and really enjoyed the ambience. We ordered a la carte and had a great selection of dishes on the table. Everything was delicious and I haven't had such good Chinese food in Düsseldorf for a long time. We had the duck menu, once normal and even vegan and both were really delicious! With the vegan menu I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Here the duck was replaced by tofu (of course only recommended for people who like to eat tofu). My friend's duck menu was also very good, with duck being carved at the table. The service was great and the ambience is also very nice. If you come on the weekend and want to eat a menu, you must reserve in advance, preferably online.

Blinded by the positive reviews, the dinner was unfortunately inedible. The ambience is extraordinary & a lot of love has been put into the details! However, if you take a closer look, it is cheap seating that is illuminated in red. The food was absolutely not to my taste and the price was only justified for the quality of the presentation. A pity.

We went to this place for lunch and the website said ‘duck lunch’ but when we arrived we found out that there is no duck on the lunch menu which was a bit disappointing. + cool atmosphere with walls painted in red for a date but maybe not for a daytime + amazing service (the guy in glasses was very friendly) + the way the tea was served was very cool -+ we ordered a salad and noodles : salad was a total disappointment and we could not eat it but noodles were ok Overall, I would maybe come for a dinner date to give this place a second try.

Absolute recommendation for the Peking duck menu, what you get here is amazing! Good price, incredible taste, the cocktails were exceptional and particularly well thought out, we have never tried many of the dishes before and go out for Chinese food a lot, really a great concept!

Cool restaurant with lofi music and good service.. we were there for lunch, the dishes cost between 10 and 20€ and are therefore rather cheap.. However, I have eaten better Chinese (in Düsseldorf), so unfortunately only 4 stars. .the tea was very good

The ambience is unique and the presentation of the food is also more than successful. What's great is that even at the cheaper lunch menu there was a little greeting from the kitchen. The dishes themselves were tasty, but didn't blow us away.

The 4-course duck meal was a great experience as it is cut and served right in front of you (as is traditional in China). Overall it tasted very good, the other courses and the dessert were good. The atmosphere and style of the restaurant are unique. Overall, a recommended experience. Price wise also okay.

Very cool restaurant. We stayed in the White Room, very nice, although a bit cold. The 8 course menu was fantastic. Really made with a lot of love from the first course to the last. We would like a little less dessert. And we didn't need the potato risotto course. Otherwise it was wonderful. Our waitress was also very helpful and friendly. Thank you

Wir wollten mal etwas neues ausprobieren und wagten einen Besuch im Green Light District. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Speisen trafen jedoch nicht unseren Geschmack, waren allerdings gut zubereitet. Preislich war es uns viel zu teuer vor allem für die sehr kleinen Portionen. Ich würde hier nicht nochmal hinkommen.

It's definitely worth it for the entire experience! The decoration and atmosphere are great for a couple's night out! All the dishes are well presented and the food is well cooked and great. Authentic Chinese cuisine with a modern twist! The entire staff is quite friendly and they speak German and English!

Sehr schönes Erlebnis. Sehr cooles Konzept, wunderschöne Inneneinrichtung. Auch sehr sympathisch mit Lofi Musik. Hatten das 8 Gänge Menü- das war nicht so empfehlenswert ehrlich gesagt, es gab sehr coole Sachen, aber manche Sachen, wie das 'Sorbet' war eher ein Flop. Das nächste Mal würden wir lieber a La Carte bestellen. Die Sachen sahen sehr gut aus. auch die Ente sah super lecker aus!

Sehr sehr Tolles und aussergewöhnliches Restaurant! Ich hatte das 8 Gänge Menü und es war wirklich sehr toll angerichtet und präsentiert. Geschmacklich wirklich gut alles aufeinander abgestimmt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Interior im Zusammenspiel mit der Musik. Einfach nur toll, sowas erlebt man nicht jeden Tag! Un endroit très charmant au coeur du quartier asiatique de Düsseldorf . Le cuisine est délicieuse et relativement abordable je recommande.

I rather didn't like it. The lighting creates an uncomfortable, tense feeling. Overall I liked the food, but the portions were not large. Service is also ok. You can go once.

Comida: obviamente rica, mucha grasa, azúcar y sal. Para mi gusto demasiado sal. Porciones no tan grandes para ese precio. Menú pequeño (no hay mucha variación). Servicio: un poco demasiado. Te preguntan "Todo bien? Quieres pedir go más??" cada 15 min. Buscaría más intimidad. Ambiente: luz roja, sin ventanas, pequeño espacio. Bueno, a cada gusto su cosa... Precio: demasiado alto (2 veces más alto que en otros restaurantes) sin explicación (o yo no la encontré...), no volvería.

Ich war mit meinem Freund als Date- Idee in diesem Restaurant. Dafür eignet es sich einfach perfekt. Es macht richtig Eindruck wenn man reinkommt. Es ist was Besonderes und wenn die andere Person nichts davon weiß - ist die Überraschung umso grösser. Essen: Wir haben die Nudeln ( Foto) und einen Tofu Salat bestellt. Wie der Kellner uns darauf hingewiesen hat, soll man die Gerichte teilen. Das war auch gut so - den Tofu Salat wird wohl kaum einer Pur essen. Geschmacklich alles sehr lecker und auch mal was anderes. Ich fand unsere Portionen nicht klein. Ich glaub es hängt davon ab- was man bestellt. Die Präsentation der Gerichte ist außergewöhnlich. Service: Ausgezeichnet! Unser Kellner hat und alles erklärt. An dem Abend wurden wohl zwei neue Kollegen eingearbeitet. Man hat deutlich einen Unterschied gemerkt -aber es war kein Problem. Das ist auch normal, dass man als Neuling da Fehler macht. Dafür waren wir gar nicht böse- TROTZDEM kam uns das Restaurant entgegen und das „falsch“ bestellte aus der Rechnung rausgeschmissen. Das ist Service auf höchsten Niveau! Preis: ich fand es sehr gut. Man merkt, dass man sich hier viel Mühe gibt. Außerdem bezahlt man für das Gesamtpaket. Damit auf jeden Fall angemessen. Wir waren Rundum zufrieden und haben schon sehr vielen diesen Ort empfohlen. Danke für den schönen Abend !

Duck menu was amazing! Thank you for this experience

Wahnsinn. Was für ein unerwartetes Geschmackserlebnis. Wir waren abends unter der Woche hier und hatten reserviert. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben dann erst einmal das Interieur bestaunt. Es ist wirklich richtig schön und ausgefallen eingerichtet. Der Service war stets zur Stelle und auch bei der Bestellung hilfsbereit. Das Essen war frisch und alles einfach sehr lecker und witzig angerichtet. Wir hatten viel Spaß hier und kommen gerne wieder.

Durch Zufall auf dieses optisch außergewöhnliche Restaurant gestoßen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und an einen freien Tisch gebracht. Scheinbar ist die Auswahl an Speisen sonntags komprimiert, was mich schon etwas enttäuschte im Vergleich zur normalen Karte. Wir entschieden uns für die Riesengarnelen und den Ananas Reis mit Hähnchen. Ich bestellte zusätzlich noch eine Portion Reis, welche laut der Dame vom Service kostenlos wäre. Ein Gruß aus der Küche gab es noch vorab, welcher echt lecker und mal was anderes war. Die Hauptgerichte hingegen machten uns sprachlos. Ich erhielt 6 panierte (was nicht in der Karte stand) Garnelen, welche mich eher an den China Imbiss von nebenan erinnerten, und eine winzige Schüssel Reis. Das Hähnchen im Ananas Reis konnte man nur erahnen, weil man es weder rausschmecken noch sehen konnte. Meiner Meinung nach für die Portionen viel zu teuer, mein Gericht kostete 35€, die Portion Reis musste ich doch zahlen, der Ananas Reis 27€, für Reis mit ?Hähnchen? und Erbsen. Echt schade….

Heute hatten wir die Ehre in einem kleinen China Novelle Cuisine Tempel zu essen. Wer gern was anderes, was erfrischendes oder etwas außergewöhnliches Essen will…ist hier komplett richtig. Chinesisches Essen, aber anders. Zeitgenössische kreative Speisen für jeden Geschmack und dabei die Jahrtausend alte Kultur in Ehren gehalten. Das Ambiente im Restaurant und die Hingabe vom Service, die Speisen von der Zuberetung bis zu den Zutaten wirklich bildhaft zu erklären ist auch unbedingt zum Hervorheben. Von mir ein absolutes wow. Wir waren gestern zu viert hier essen und fanden es sehr, sehr lecker. Das Ambiente ist der Knaller, das Licht (im vorderen Bereich Rotlicht und hinten sehr hell und schwarz/weiß) ist gewöhnungsbedürftig aber definitiv außergewöhnlich :) Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und hat das Konzept und die Zutaten genau erklärt. Wir gehen öfters Essen, von günstig bis hochpreisig (das dann eher selten ;)), aber so ein Ambiente und so ein Geschmackserlebnis hatte ich in Deutschland noch nie. Wir waren sehr begeistert von der Auswahl der Gerichte, der Zubereitungsweise und vom Geschmack. Ein Abend, an den man länger zurück denkt. Scheinbar wechselt das Essensangebot immer mal wieder. Demnächst kommt wohl die Entenzeit... Wir können es sehr empfehlen, wenngleich es nicht günstig ist. Und eine Erdnussallergie sollte man auch nicht haben, da basieren viele Gerüchte drauf.
