Friendly and fun service! That makes such a difference when dining out, something not everyone understands! Our waiter even cooked himself, 🫢 if he's to be believed. I don't eat meat for health reasons, so I would appreciate a wider selection of meat options. Otherwise, TOP!

We had a long journey. Prices on the menu were significantly higher than online. The staff were rude. We left again.

Very delicious food and the service was great! Unfortunately, the knuckle of pork was sold out at 6 p.m., which was a bit disappointing. The alternative – the Düsseldorfer Senfbraten (düsseldorf mustard roast) – was also very good!

Only the dessert needs some improvement, otherwise everything was super delicious. My recommendation: veal liver ✨️

Nice service and delicious food

Although it was actually just a pittance that day, the old pottery shop was a real eye-catcher and is truly impressive. It was too cold for us to sit outside without a jacket, which would certainly have been nicer that day, but the food and service were still top-notch. Highly recommended. The only downside: €6.60 for a 250ml bottle of water is a bit excessive.

We chose this restaurant because we were in the mood for German cuisine. There's plenty of parking and plenty of tables inside and outside. I'm giving the food a negative rating, not the ambiance, because I'm here to eat, not because it's nice. We had schnitzel with fried potatoes. The potatoes weren't seasoned at all, and the fat from frying the schnitzel was just dripping out. My son's mashed potatoes also tasted like nothing, and for the prices, I would have expected more. A waitress behind us at the open bar was standing there with a cigarette in her mouth, which is absolutely unacceptable in this area.

The food is delicious, but in my opinion, very expensive. Matjes herring with brown bread and a boiled egg (with a bit of eggshell still clinging to it) for €16.80, plus a drink for €6! Well... The service was nice, but I had to wait a while before I could order and pay.

We visited the old pottery yesterday for the first time, and it certainly won't be our last! The food was incredibly delicious and the portions generous – a truly wonderful location with a beautiful beer garden. The service is super attentive, very friendly, and accommodating; we would easily give it more stars if it were possible... A very special thank you to Nico, who looked after us so well yesterday – we're already looking forward to the next time.

We (three people, table reserved) were greeted by a very hectic employee and led to our table in the back of the restaurant by an even more hectic employee. The interior is very old-fashioned and rustic, not particularly cozy. We hadn't even sat down properly when we were asked for drinks, which came so quickly that we hadn't yet decided on our food. To order them, we had to flag down a waiter, only to wait another 90 minutes for our food. We asked several times, expecting at least some bread and herb butter or something similar. Nothing. The food wasn't even good. My burger, for example, was completely unseasoned and the fries were too dry. After having been there once before in May for asparagus, which I also didn't particularly enjoy, this was definitely my last visit to this restaurant.

The home-style menu offers something for everyone (including tarte flambée, schnitzel, salads, but also changing vegetable dishes depending on the season), the prices are fair and the portions are anything but small! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and we didn't have to wait long. The server was friendly. The atmosphere is also very nice. We were there on a Tuesday lunchtime and sat outside. There were only a few people there, so it wasn't crowded or too loud, at least not because of the people. Planes occasionally fly overhead, but that's to be expected and doesn't disrupt conversations for long.

Relaxed, cheerful service. The menu is classic brewery fare, meaning lots of hearty dishes, lots of pork, lots of bacon. Vegetarians or those who aren't allowed to eat pork for religious reasons won't get their money's worth, as the menu isn't vegetarian-friendly. Parking is available, which is a huge plus. You have to like the interior, but the name of the restaurant pretty much says it all: "Alte Töpferei." It's perfect for a quick lunch. For dinner, I'd rather try alternative restaurants in Düsseldorf!

I'm shocked by what happened during our visit. There were two of us at the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon, so it wasn't very busy. Everything was fine until we placed our orders. Then, unfortunately, the visit took a turn. The drinks arrived relatively promptly, but the food unfortunately didn't. After waiting for almost an hour! I went to the counter to ask when the food would be coming. Unfortunately, no one showed up at our table within that hour. To my horror, I then noticed that all three waiters were standing there, chatting. We then went to the kitchen together, and the food was already there, waiting for a waiter to pick it up. The food was delicious, but the price is far too high for this quality! Unfortunately, after our meal, we had to wait in vain for the waiter to pay. Since he didn't come, we went back to the counter, and all three waiters were standing there again. I'd like to emphasize that this is not a self-service restaurant. But what happened at the end blew my socks off. As I was paying, one of the waitresses suddenly came over and made fun of the long wait, saying that with such a long wait, they could have just cooked the schnitzel themselves. I was completely stunned and didn't know what to say. What's wrong with this place? This is certainly not a good way to keep customers. It's a shame I even paid for this experience. In any case, it was my last visit here, and I can't recommend it to anyone.

After arriving at Düsseldorf Airport after our vacation, we went straight to the restaurant. It's a clean, tidy, well-maintained restaurant with a beer garden, a playground, and plenty of airplanes to look at 😍 The sauerkraut with mashed potatoes and smoked pork were a delight. Service 10/10, food 10/10, beer 10/10.

The schnitzel was delicious, but the fried potatoes were mushy and full of grease and oil. The side salad looked like a classic side salad, so nothing special. For the price, I would have expected a bit more, but the schnitzel was delicious. One thing that was annoying was that the staff were having their "breaktime chat" right next to us at the "bar," drinking and eating there. That's unnecessary; otherwise, it's a cute little place.

The food is delicious. I'm a mechanic and have eaten there twice. If you don't mind the planes taking off and the brief noise they create, you should stop by. Depending on how busy it is, you might want to be prepared to wait.

We ate there for the second time after an event with a very large group. This time, too, the reservation and advance communication went smoothly and were very friendly. Unlike last time, we agreed to a reduced menu due to the group size of approximately 70 people. The food and service were, as always, very good, and we received a friendly welcome. I specifically asked if the cheese spaetzle came without meat, which the waiter confirmed. However, after eating a third of my meal, I realized there was bacon in it. I've been a conscious vegetarian for a very long time. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he simply said, "Oh yes, that's bacon," and asked me if I wanted another portion. I declined, as I was no longer hungry. When I had to pay the full price for the bill, I told the waiter again that I didn't think it was professional that I had to pay for the entire meal and that it was generally very shocking, as I could have been allergic and it wasn't "just" a conscious decision not to eat meat. The waiter simply said there was nothing we could do, and I paid the full price. Very unprofessional and not customer-focused - obviously not suitable for vegetarians!

I've eaten here several times with friends and I have to honestly say that I've never been disappointed! The food tastes simply amazing, is always fresh and absolutely delicious. The portions are absolutely generous. The staff is usually relaxed and has always been very friendly. Even special requests have never been turned down. I always enjoy coming back, and I'm very happy when a gypsy schnitzel can still be a gypsy schnitzel and doesn't have to be a paprika schnitzel – then it tastes even better! And as for the planes that fly into Düsseldorf Airport not far from the restaurant, it's always been a treat for us, and we usually have a quiz at the table to see where each plane is coming from. So, what has occasionally been criticized here is completely fine with us.

We have returned with our visitor from the far north. Everyone was friendly and attentive - just as we know and appreciate it. We were all thrilled and the crispy knuckle was brilliant as always. Thank you and we'll see each other again very soon. Sure, the airport noise is undeniable, but I think the team makes up for it.

The old pottery has had some price increases. There were already different prices on the website for the menu and the daily menu. The prices in the restaurant were even higher. The service was very courteous and friendly. It is a bit chilly in the restaurant in winter, which is compensated for with additional electric heaters. The food was good. The fries with the schnitzel were well fried (four stars), the schnitzel and the gypsy sauce were good (four stars). The side salad was fresh and very tasty (five stars).

I was there with a friend and wanted to treat myself to a steak. Unfortunately, it came completely undercooked and was far too dry. A new one was quickly made for me, which was fried well, but it seemed as if a piece had been cut off and the fried potatoes were thrown back into the pan and came back with black onions and potatoes. There was also no substitute for the herb butter offered. Not good for me.

We were there today, October 31st, 2024, for a free kale meal with Mettwurst. At first I thought it was a joke. Everyone only had to order 1 drink. The kale with Mettwurst was super delicious. We had a delicious meal there as a group today. The portions were great. Service friendly and quick.

Positive: The service staff were extremely friendly and understanding, hence the 5 stars! Negative: We drove almost 60 km because, according to the menu on the homepage, there should be liver dumplings there. Then the disillusionment arrived. We were presented with a completely different map. When we asked why there were other dishes on this menu, we were told that the menu on the homepage was outdated and no longer valid. We then left. If you already offer a menu online, then it should be up to date! We were really very disappointed and will not come again.

It was my first time there, but I already know it will be the last time. For someone who doesn't eat meat, there is no choice of dishes. I decided to at least eat some salad and thought about what could be wrong. It turned out that it looked beautiful from the outside, but underneath there was old lettuce from the day before or a large salad lying around. I looked at other dishes spread out on other tables. The dishes were very large, but didn't whet your appetite. I think the prices are excessive. The service also leaves something to be desired as I have to ask for clean glass. I rarely leave such negative reviews but this time I have to. I don't share my friends' opinion, for me it's the quality of the food that counts, not the quantity. After all, I am paying for it and have the right to demand it.

The food is as you would expect in a restaurant like this: good, hearty, umami and simply delicious. We had various schnitzels of veal and pork with and without sauces (hunter, gypsy) and shredded beef. Everything was really delicious. The ambience is generally great, but you can already see the rivets of the planes flying over it, for example, because they take off so low here.

Lovingly kept beer garden. It was our wedding anniversary today and we thought we would go out to dinner. My husband's food was good. I didn't think mine was good value for money. Fill the plate with salad. The waitress preferred to smoke. The glass was cracked. Wanted to say that and order a second round. We paid instead. The service can be expanded. I know the staff is hard to come by.

The ambience and the beautiful, well-kept beer garden invite you to linger, even if the Alte Töpferei is in the flight path from Düsseldorf Airport. The staff is very friendly, helpful and quick, so you don't have to wait long for your order. The menu is manageable and offers something for every taste. The quality of the food is impeccable. The portions are large enough, but maybe a little more expensive. Gladly again.
