Food is amazing. Service is very bad.

We visited there the other day and were more than disappointed. The carpaccio was drenched in oil, not tasty, and there was not enough of it. The Wiener schnitzel was as thick as a gossip magazine and was so subdued in the breading that you practically had to search for it. The latter was cooked in clarified butter, but again, it tasted rancid. The potatoes and cranberries were okay. The prices for the dishes are absolutely unjustified.

The stuff absolutely disaster the service unbelievable late and you getting ignored. The location is very good. Service is very poor food comes cold unorganized.

We spent a wonderful evening there yesterday. The food was truly excellent, and the service outstanding. Special thanks and greetings to Andrea. It was simply fantastic.

Top, top, top. A special experience for a wonderful occasion. We were guests here for our wedding anniversary. The table was specially set for us, the food was amazing, and at the end there was even a dessert with a "Happy Anniversary from the Kitchen" – thank you so much again.

Price and performance are right.

Food: The beef tartar was okay, quite small, and a shame that it was only relatively moderately seasoned. There was no sauce or spices to spice it up, so 4 points. The 300g Nebraska fillet for just under €100 was perfectly cooked medium, and the meat quality was very good, as expected. However, I lacked the "aha" moment (in the sense of "excellent") that I have at a well-known Frankfurt steakhouse, for example, with "THE BUTTERKNIFE" (roughly the same price range for about 200g). The sides ("fries," "sweet potatoes," and "onions") were, as expected, (merely) acceptable ("whatever, I'm there for steak..."). The pepper sauce didn't taste 100% like convenience food, but was unexpectedly good. The Heinz mayo was okay ( :-)), and the BBQ sauce (free of charge) was also good. Highlight: The whole loaf of bread served at the beginning, very tasty with the sea salt butter. Overall, the food: 4 points for a US beef steakhouse. It's clear that the restaurant's US beef is miles above "regular" steakhouses in terms of quality, but they aren't the benchmark in this (price) category; instead, the comparison with top steakhouses counts for the points award. And for me, it's only 4 points. Service: Attentive and very confident. A bit too confident for my taste. Point of criticism: The establishment belongs to a Krombacher partner. So why aren't there decent beer glasses, and why is the beer poured in a kind of large wine glass? That's disappointing. And why didn't the waiter know that this size wasn't available when taking the order for "0.5l beer"? And then, with this explanation, they served 0.3l wine glasses with beer. So: 4 points for the service. Ambience: Central location, pleasant ambiance, but not 5, but only 4 stars: The entrance is slightly hidden and not very prestigious, and the way up to the second floor leads either via stairs or a slightly asthmatic mini-elevator ("That's why I took the stairs down"). The decor is okay, but why a US beef restaurant has Francophone pictures/posters on the walls is a question only for the interior designer. Overall, 4 points. Recommended for anyone who enjoys a well-cooked US beef steak and doesn't expect too much from the sides (as is apparently common in such establishments). The wine list is okay (we had wine after the beer), and the prices are just about what you'd expect in such an establishment throughout Germany.

Something strange with all cafes & restaurants in Dusseldorf ! They are not ( tourist oriented ) !! Coming from Dubai, it was hard getting comfortable with the locals. They are not friendly at all ! I felt i was in another era like 50 yrs old era ! Alot has changed in the world.. but they’re still glued to their own era ..

We ate there yesterday and it wasn't the first time. I always eat kikok chicken and baked potatoes. My chicken yesterday was so tough that I sent it back. According to the waiter, the baked potato was sold out. I've never heard of that before. I ordered a new chicken and the waiter came back and said that I could only get the chicken the way I had it! 😂 I've never heard such a cheeky statement. I then ordered fillet medallions, which have been better. As we were about to leave the restaurant, a waiter came towards us with at least 6 baked potatoes! So that was really unpleasant! We won't be coming back!

Almost €200 per person, and despite the location, it was simply far too little. The steak was medium instead of medium-rare, the appetizers were very small, and the steak tasted okay, but for that price, I simply expected more. The same goes for the extras. €10 for a few fried mushrooms should simply taste like more. I would also like the menu to clearly state that the steaks basically come with a pepper crust by default. It was just way too much and completely dominated the flavor. Overall, the food was just very average, and at €77 for a small steak without a side dish, that's just not enough. The food came quickly, and the service was friendly and good.

Wir waren das erste mal im The Grill in Düsseldorf. Das Restaurant liegt auf der zweiten Etage, ist aber per Aufzug Barrierefrei zu erreichen. Die Einrichtung war O.K Personal höflich aber etwas zu distanzlos und übermotiviert. Ich hatte ein Filetgericht bestellt und bekam auch ein hoch qualitatives Fleisch. Ursprung nicht bekannt. Das Essen war allerdings sehr lieblos angerichtet, da ist sehr viel Luft nach oben. Die Steakmesser waren sehr stumpf, was dem hochwertigen Produkt nicht gerecht wurde und ein absolutes No Go für ein Steakhaus. Da sollte man korrigieren. Noch etwas, bitte Gehörschutz mitbringen, da der Barmann versucht durch laute Musik dass Restaurant in eine Disco umzuwandeln. Im Großen und Ganzen nicht schlecht, aber am Wohlfühlfaktor muss noch sehr viel getan werden. War mal nett, aber da fehlt das Alleinstellungsmerkmal um noch mal zu kommen. .

This restaurant on Düsseldorf's Kö has a very nice ambiance. You sit on the first floor and, in some places, enjoy a very nice view. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is no longer at its former level. The current asparagus soup is laced with plenty of thickeners and white wine – unfortunately, due to the acidity, it no longer tastes like asparagus at all. The Wiener Schnitzel, for just under €40 with a few soft "fried potatoes," is also unacceptable. The cucumber salad ordered with it (€8.50 extra) consists of cucumber slices dipped in cream – the taste and presentation are lacking in love. When asked about the quality of the asparagus soup, the waiter did respond with interest – but in a restaurant of this price level, that's not enough. Some concessions should have been made here. Conclusion: Nice ambiance, small & fine terrace, but certainly not sophisticated dining.

Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with the food 😡😡😡 The US fillet was ordered medium, and unfortunately, it was served well-done! For €65 for 200g without any side dishes, I would have expected a bit more! The price-performance ratio is not right at all!

Well the evening was nothing. Let's start with the prices, we would say they are extremely good value, which cannot be said about the food. At these prices you expect a culinary delight and a taste you've never experienced before. I got thin fries that were fried for too long. The burger was very bland and boring with cheap cheese. Especially since the “steak knife” had the sharpness of a spoon. There were 8 of us, but the staff didn't want to share the bill. Every country inn can do better, for significantly less money. Too bad.

The staff absolutely does not match the extremely high prices. The simplest etiquette is not followed and the restaurant is not well represented by incompetent and untrained staff.

There aren't many steakhouses that can offer an experience on this level. From starter to dessert, everything was more than successful, I was thrilled by the taste experience. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is very upscale, the restaurant offers a lovely evening for two, which is exactly how you should go out for a steak!

We've been there twice so far and we really enjoyed it each time. The food is very tasty and plentiful. The cooking point of the steak was always optimal. The service was very good and courteous. We'd love to come back.

The Nebraska fillet steak was truly out of this world but the fries were awfull. Prices are on a very high side. The service was OK, except for a waitor in a black shirt who was making snobby comments about a passing customer in German. It is understandable that you need a lot of patience for this job but such behavior was just unacceptable. Thus, two stars less.

To start with, there was delicious onion bread with salted butter. Afterwards, the main courses without a long wait. Super tasty tender meat. The burger was also super tasty with a great combination of salad and sauce. The sweet potato fries are super crispy and not wobbly. The service is also 1A. The prices seem a bit too high to me and the noise in the restaurant is a little high, otherwise I was very satisfied.

The Nebraska steak was simply full of fibers and fat. In addition, the beef was swewed raw. And not medium. No regrets. No compensation. A big disappointment. I do this much better myself at home with a cheap entrecote.

The two of us were there for my fiancée's birthday this Tuesday. Easy to book online in advance. Nice welcome and clothing service on site. Great ambience, dimmed lighting... everything around it fits in any case. We quickly went to the table and the menus were handed out, followed by understandable advice on the different types of meat, cooking points, etc. The different courses were well timed, the steaks were fantastic and the staff was attentive. The highlight was a small plate of table fireworks for my girlfriend as a greeting from the kitchen with some fruit, ice cream and chocolate Happy Birthday. Taking uneaten truffle mayonaise (ABSOLUTE RECOMMENDATION FROM OUR PART. The mayo is AMAZING!!) as a doggy bag was also no problem at all. And when we had to wait 15 minutes for our taxi after paying, each of us was given a drink of our choice at the bar!! Summary: super great, high quality... but also high priced food, very nice and attentive service. We would like to enjoy it more often, but since we have to leave the "church in the village" behind, it remains a rare but enjoyed highlight...and we are already looking forward to the next time. Special greetings go out to our “personal” serviceman Elias: THANK YOU!! for taking care of the birthday, the fireworks, etc. That was a special experience!

Absolute favorite restaurant in Düsseldorf 🍽️🤍

A special place, with good meat-based cuisine. The consistently friendly service is really great. I've been there several times and sometimes it was very crowded. Nevertheless, the waitress always managed to take the order correctly and bring it to the table. I think the furnishings are very chic and the window seats are great, especially in summer, as you can look out over the cool and green treetops from there.

Delicious burger, probably the best in Düsseldorf, albeit at a certain price (€29 for the burger with fries), and the view over the KÖ is beautiful! However the staff is very very arrogant and snobby, they don't really seem to understand what premium service is.

Unfortunately you just get disgusted, dogs are allowed in the restaurant and then they pee everywhere while you stand in front of the entrance, then dog shit is thrown into the ashtray and people then laugh about it. The service seems uncommitted, unfortunately not recommended!

Sorry, the shop isn't clean, the prices don't correspond to what is supposed to be offered and the service is sometimes more on the level of a cafe chain, we can't recommend it!

This was our second time visiting here. Unfortunately a disappointment! Since we had booked especially for New Year's Eve and we were really looking forward to it, the food was unfortunately a lull! The shrimp (which was on the menu as a warm starter) was ice cold and didn't taste like anything. The consistency was just mushy. The meat was cooked incorrectly and went back. We were neither asked how we liked it nor whether we wanted dessert or coffee. The service was a disaster! The waiter didn't even know about the drinks and even forgot about us after taking the wine. We waited 20 minutes just for the drinks. I expect a lot more for the money, I get better service in every McDonald's than in this restaurant. We are very disappointed because the first visit was really good and we had hoped for more, especially on New Year's Eve. We didn't even get a farewell after not leaving a cent of tip. So being treated even more condescendingly is not possible. We won't come anymore. What a shame about the money!

Ended up here unexpectedly. Not reserved, but it is possible to eat there with 2 people. The space is attractive, the music fairly modern. Staff friendly and nothing to complain about. In my opinion, the price-quality ratio is not correct! The steak is more than worth the money, but the schnitzel is more of a casing with a piece of meat somewhere in the middle. Upon entering, a few decadent 60-somethings push in front, as they are regular customers. After this you are put at the bar to wait, because they thought you had not made a reservation. After it became clear that a reservation had been made, we were given a table. The food after this was not very good in terms of price/quality ratio. We will not immediately recommend it.

The Grill Upper Kö is an absolutely amazing place with such incredibly kind staff; they took such good care of us and truly made our visit very special.

This restaurant is really overcrowded! It is very beautiful and the atmosphere is also nice. But… For that very expensive price it has to be TOP and it was NOT! Sorry everything has its price but this is really about it!

Entschuldigung, man müsste die sonst wegschmeissen. Also Vorspeise auf Seite, Steaks auf den Tisch, Teller waren nicht mehr heiss. Dafür fehlte jetzt meine Gabel, was noch mal 3 Minuten dauerte. Entschuldigung. Dafür brachte man falsche Beilage. Die richtige Beilage kam, nachdem wir gegessen hatte. Entschuldigung, sonst klappt das besser. 300 Euro und nur geärgert. Auch wenn die Küche gut ist, der Service ist auf Mc Donalds Niveau.

Great restaurant on the Kö. Rarely have I had such good steak. It's in the higher price segment, but if you want to treat yourself to very high quality, you should definitely visit this store. For me there was, in the classic way, 300g fillet without sauce, with French fries. Carpaccio as a starter Staff very friendly. Unfortunately there was a bit of a wait for the drinks, which wasn't so good

One of the worst experiences in a restaurant in my life, our waitress was so extremely rude it was unbelievable. She had a massive attitude problem, a loud voice and really didn’t belong there. Horrible horrible experience!!!!

Le restaurant The Grill offre une viande de qualité, mais les prix sont largement exagérés par rapport à ce qui est servi. Payer 65€ pour 300g de filet de bœuf est déjà un investissement, mais les accompagnements, eux, n’en valent clairement pas la peine. 8€ pour des frites qui ne sont même pas maison et 5€ pour une sauce au poivre qui donne l’impression de venir directement d’une brique, c’est décevant. Les vins, eux aussi, sont proposés à des tarifs élevés, ce qui nous a poussés à nous rabattre sur la bière. En conclusion, même si la viande est bonne, le rapport qualité-prix laisse vraiment à désirer.

The Grill restaurant offers quality meat, but the prices are greatly exaggerated compared to what is served. Meat is good but expensive for what it is. French fries are horrible frozen industrial and cost €8.5. Sauce is disgusting. 6€ for bad industrial bearnaise and 5€ the horrible industrial pepper sauce. Shame on you. Wine is very very expensive. You pay €120 for a bottle that cost 15€ In a wine store. It is a lovely place. Good ambience. Service is correct. Location is great in the König Allee. Everything was great, I liked everything. I only had one problem, which was the bees that wouldn't leave around me and from my dishes on the balcony where I was sitting. It's not as annoying as anyone might imagine, and it doesn't affect my rating either. The four stars I put are only because the evolution and progress has no limit. I would be even happier when I go again if there is something even better waiting for me than what I experienced the first time.

This is how a steakhouse should be. The food and everything was excellent. We had lunch here. We started with freshly baked crispy onion bread and salty butter. So good. Then with mega-fresh and meticulously 👍 clean oysters, lovingly prepared, on ice, with pumpernickel and cheddar cheese, red vinegar onions (delicious). I have never tasted such good onion soup. It contained butter-tender, wonderful pieces of beef. Glassy onions, the stock wasn't too dark. There were also small warm toasts with Gruyère cheese. For the main course I had a prawn skewer on pointed cabbage with figs. 12 out of 10 points 😍 so light and healthy. My husband had delicious juicy and crispy squid rings and prawns cooked to perfection. Then an American rib-eye, 300 g, as requested, doneness medium rare, perfectly fried, super tender and full of flavor. Mega meat. A poached egg on spinach on the side, great, and delicious coleslaw. I would like the coleslaw to be a little coarser and without turmeric. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert. Overall, the service was friendly, attentive and in a good mood. The tip was genuinely appreciated. We'll be back, no question.

Very nice. We have been there a few times and recently held an employee event there with almost 20 people. It's not that easy to serve 20 perfectly cooked steaks at the same time, but it turned out wonderfully. The service is excellent and so is the food. Absolutely recommended.

We recently went to The Grill and are sad to say that the evening ended disappointingly for us. Despite an order of almost €300 for two people, we were treated extremely rudely by a service employee. We already felt uncomfortable when we were seated at a table that was far too narrow on the tiny rooftop terrace, but the behavior of the employee in question made the situation even more unpleasant. He constantly called us by first name, which is completely inappropriate in a restaurant of this price range, and treated us condescendingly. What was particularly annoying was that he constantly had a problem with our little dog. While all other employees got past our dog without any problems, he always felt disturbed and kept nagging. When we asked him about it, he showed no insight and became abusive and cheeky. The situation eventually escalated to the point where we decided to leave after starters as we didn't want to let him treat us badly any further. However, the employee didn't care at all that we wanted to leave the restaurant because of his unprofessional demeanor and asked us to go to the competition in the future. We also had to wait over 20 minutes per drink, which we also find unacceptable, with a maximum capacity of 30%. The starter was well prepared and solid, you can't complain about that. We would have liked to say the same for the main course and the dessert. The other employees were very friendly and were visibly upset when we left the restaurant early because of their colleague. It's a real shame that the behavior of a single member of staff ruined our evening so much. This makes you ask yourself why you should behave in such a way that is damaging to your employer's business. In a restaurant of this caliber, we expect to be treated with respect and not feel like you are unwanted.

Great food! Service was fine but it took us a while to get the bill, even though the restaurant was not that busy. Not a cheap restaurant but you can be sure you’ll eat great food! I definitely recommend the truffled fries with Parmesan cheese as a side dish to your steak.

I've eaten here several times, but unfortunately every time there's something different that doesn't fit/is consistent. Once we were even forced to order something to eat, otherwise we would have to sit on a high chair at the bar. (Only 2 tables were occupied in the restaurant at 2:50 p.m.…) something like that is just absurd…. There were two of us and we simply ordered dessert together. That's ridiculous... Otherwise food wise O.K. The price is very expensive for the performance.
