Were here for dinner on April 20, 2025. The restaurant's interior is a bit old, but it has its charm. When ordering food, however, you unfortunately noticed that you were a little behind the times here. Unfortunately, you won't find a single vegetarian main course on the entire menu (which largely consists of fish). Simply no longer appropriate for a restaurant in 2025. As an alternative there was a mixed salad with fried potatoes and fried eggs. The service tried very hard, but there were some carelessness when ordering: two of the five drinks we ordered were incorrect (beer instead of Radler, Pilsner instead of wheat) and we were only given the bill after several questions. One thing that shouldn't happen like that: When the vegetarian main course was ordered, bacon was served with the fried potatoes. Overall, you could tell that the service staff were still very young and inexperienced - mistakes can happen. What should be highlighted positively is that all errors were corrected immediately and without any complaints. Overall the food was ok. Only the potato salad that was served tasted a lot like the packaged one from the supermarket. The plaice could also have been fried a little less crispy (it almost looked like it was fried). All in all, a nice evening, even if we can't understand the high 4.7 star rating. There is simply a lack of quality in all the points described.

We were there today on Easter Sunday and were absolutely thrilled with the food. The fish and the schnitzel were great, as were the fries and fried potatoes. The food, drinks and service were truly a 10/10, we will definitely be back!

Very rustic atmosphere in a simple style. The food was ok, not great but fresh. My fish was good. Your fried potatoes are very dark and little. The small salad was delicious and fresh. However, completely overpriced for 8.50 euros. Service was friendly and on point.

Hello - for our father's birthday we went hiking on the mudflats and wanted to have a nice meal afterwards. So we looked where there was something decent near Döse/Duhnen. The tip came from a small restaurant on the corner 800 meters away where there was no room for 6 people enter!!! We would be happy to come back. Greetings to the boss from the 84 year old, who was recognized by the boss. See you soon.

We spontaneously ate here at the end of October 2024 and it was simply brilliant. My husband had a super fresh, juicy and delicious plaice Finkenwerder style and he said that he has never eaten a better plaice. ❤️ I had a pan of pasta in a tomato garlic sauce with shrimp. And what can I say, it was simply delicious and really garlicky. First of all there was a delicious homemade Auolo with bread! Simply a successful evening with very nice service!

Food is good. The waiter (older gentleman with gray hair) doesn't work at all. Totally arrogant and says to one of us that she is too corpulent and that she should move because the table behind us needs space. I have never seen anything so contemptible. Actually You would have had to get up and leave the shop. We left €290 there and at the end we were charged for the round of schnapps, no wonder why so many people go to the Greek restaurants. Edit 1.1.25: It's unbelievable to describe such an answer. Crazy. No wonder that word is getting around all over Duhnen. Zero ability to criticize, miserable management House rules. After such an answer only deserves 1 star!

The plaice as a whole was first class and delicious fried potatoes = a dream. The service was super friendly and it was fun to chat with them. In short: recommended for repeating.

It's a nice little maritime fish restaurant. Maybe it's a bit old, but it also has a certain flair. The menu offers a good selection of fish and meat dishes, and homemade aiola is also available for consumption and take-away. We each had a fish dish, it was delicious and filled us up enough. The service is nice and we didn't have to wait long.

Maritime restaurant with very beautiful maritime decoration. The homemade aioli cream as a “greeting from the kitchen” is awesome and super delicious 😋! Fish dishes are delicious. Vegetables could be a little crunchier for my taste. Was cooked to death for me. What I didn't like was that a young girl (who was part of the house) was talking on the phone very loudly via video telephony. It was very disturbing. And that in the back of the restaurant there is a cat running around freely and sneaking around the tables hoping that something will fall for her... Animals have no place in the restaurant! In my opinion.... Staff and operators very friendly and attentive.

Had a spontaneous meal there on Friday with 10 people (7 adults and 3 children). The service is very friendly and the food was really good. The portions were decent. I can really only recommend this fish restaurant. Will eat there again on our next vacation.

Unfortunately a failure The fish was served on a plate with the salad and the dressing from the salad ran under the fish and everything tasted like salad. The crabs were tasteless and tiny. The scrambled eggs also didn't taste good. We ordered fried potatoes without bacon. Some were served with bacon. As a replacement there were three completely overcooked boiled potatoes without salt. Overall the food was unseasoned. At this price level I expect significantly more.

On October 7th, 2024 I was in this restaurant for dinner. I ate the plaice fillet with homemade potato salad for 19.90 euros. First there was a greeting from the kitchen. A glass of Grüner Silvaner rounded off the meal. I enjoyed everything very much. That's why I recommend it.

We were there and were disappointed. Sauces, schnitzels from wholesalers. The food came quickly and it felt like a fast restaurant. We were interrupted 5 times with “Does it taste good?” The sauce was over-seasoned and didn’t go well with the chicken. Then the noodles with shrimps turned my wife's stomach. We won't be back

We were there with a larger group. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the food. Whether it was fish, schnitzel or fillet, there was a bit of everything. The portions were more than good! The service was also great. Everyone was very friendly and everything always went very quickly. Would come again and again!

Definitely visit!! It's best to do it more often because of the wonderful selection of dishes. Fish always fresh! Our plaice “Büsumer Art” was an absolute poem! Service very good! The boss and the employees were very friendly, attentive and accommodating.

We've been vacationing in Cuxhaven at least once a year for years. Every time you stay, you have to eat once in the Seute Deern restaurant! From the first time to today, the quality and taste have remained the same. We were greeted very nicely and in a friendly and accommodating manner today despite no pre-order. Even though the restaurant was almost fully booked. We immediately ordered a table for Christmas because we are back in Cuxhaven with our brother and sister-in-law. We're looking forward to the visit!

We were a bit overwhelmed because there was a large group in the house to serve the other guests. But we were warned beforehand that it could take time. So our choice was worth the wait as the food there is really top notch. Ambience in the lower area is very maritime and great, in the upper area it is more normal and neutral.

We discovered this beautiful restaurant by chance on our way to Sankt Peter Ording. In this appealing atmosphere we were welcomed and served in an extremely friendly manner. For fish lovers, the plaice fillet, for example, is highly recommended! The homemade tomato soup was also simply delicious. The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. We will certainly be happy to stop there again the next time we travel through.

We have been coming for years whenever we spend a holiday weekend in Cuxhaven. And it was great again this time! The Seute Deern is always worth a visit!

The fish was ok, the fried potatoes were crispy, unfortunately very salty. The schnitzel was more fried than fried. There is no offer for vegetarians, unfortunately a review on TripAdvisor was incorrect. Upon request, something was put together, which unfortunately initially came with bacon. The service was very friendly, but the food did not meet our expectations and the price.

There were eight of us there, three of us forgot our food and only arrived when the others had finished eating. There was no real excuse for it. The fish was very good and we could sit outside. Overall, we won't be coming back.

Super nice staff, very good food. The ambience is also good. Unassuming from the outside, but don't be fooled. Worth every euro. Adult portions were also prepared as children's portions without any problems by the kitchen and of the same quality (in our case, tagliatelle with shrimps without herbs). We'd love to come back!

Von aussen sieht man nicht gleich, was das für ein schönes Restaurant ist. Wir waren angenehm überrascht und haben uns Fisch bestellt. Vorweg gab es eine Kleinigkeit aus der Küche. Sehr leckeres Brot mit dem besten hausgemachten Aijoli den wir je gegessen haben. Dann kam der Fisch und einmal waren da Kartoffeln und bei meinem Gericht Bratkartoffeln bei. Der Fisch war so lecker und super frisch und auch die Beilagen so knackig und frisch. Alles war sehr lecker und das Bier schön kalt und das Glas sogar voll, was ja leider oft nicht so ist. Die Bedienung, egal wer, super nett und Aufmerksam. Wir können dieses Restaurant mit gutem Gewissen weiter empfehlen und wir kommen bestimmt wieder

The main course was served as a starter for the children. But only for the children. However, the side dishes as described in the menu were also missing. Our starter consisted of two shrimp cocktails, which for the small quantity did not correspond to the price. The staff walked past the already overcrowded table several times without clearing the appetizer plates. This caused major problems for the staff at that moment because there was now no room for our main course on the table. When I asked to pay we were asked if everything was OK. Here's the short version: Steak with a fatty edge and not medium. Not a steak knife. Schnitzel for the children frozen and fried. Pork fillet with fries requested. We got pork fillet with potatoes. We expressed our payment request again after about 15 minutes. The staff is very inattentive due to today's times Oh yes, drinks containing milk such as cappuccino or similar could not be ordered because the machine was probably broken. Conclusion; Unfortunately, absolutely no recommendation.

Mediocre food for a fairly high price

Food was okay, fish was basically fried a little too long, the fried potatoes were very greasy, not enough salt. The portions are very large, if you're looking for that you'll be satisfied, but the taste is so-so. We sat outside, yes, what can I say, sweeping and cleaning the tables would also be an idea. Overall a three with deductions, you can do it, but you don't really have to.

We went there with the family for dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated with all sorts of seafaring finds. The service was very friendly, attentive and child-friendly. We had several fish dishes and were all very satisfied. The fresh fish tasted very good. The prices are not cheap for fish dishes but they are okay. We'd love to come back.

I was there with a friend before the DEICHBRAND Festival. We both wanted to eat fish and found Seute Seern on the way. The menu is selected, but there are some fish dishes! We had the fish soup and the crab cocktail as starters. As a main course, the plaice Müllerin style and the pollock with crab scrambled eggs, both were fried to perfection 😋🤤, gladly again!

Fish soup and plaice are fantastic! The beer -Barre Pilsener- very drinkable. Furnishings are contemporary without the junk of days gone by, bright and friendly. Nordic warm welcome, The care during the evening was attentive but not intrusive. I'm looking forward to a second visit here to sample the menu.

We had dinner there yesterday. Were very happy with the food. The food was delicious and tender. You can't say anything against the portions. Our well-being was impeccably taken care of. Food 1a Service 1a Ambience is a matter of taste. But it suited the restaurant. I can only recommend it.
