Very tasty fish shop with restaurant. The staff super friendly.

The worst fish roll ever eaten (inedible). Roll hard, the fish was too salty. Frikatelle ice cold despite supposedly being hot. Little fish for the money and way too expensive. Rip off.

Undoubtedly the best fish menu I've ever had. Fresh fish, hot, beautifully prepared, stylishly served, very friendly service. Five stars! I would again!!!

Around 1920 we were sent away because the kitchen was closing soon, despite the loud noise d is open until 8 p.m.

If you like good, fresh fish and friendly service, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, the dishes are no longer as rich, but tasty, and in the upper price range. But of course the menu offers many other fish and meat dishes. When temperatures are higher, the covered terrace is well attended.

I was there for the last time 2 years ago and was very impressed. We were happy about a delicious, rich fish sandwich. It was delicious, but we are now saving on the fish.

Very good fish. Absolutely recommended. If you want to eat really good fish, then you should enjoy this one. Not only suitable for older guests, our 9-year-old nephew was also thrilled with his fish fingers. Bosum fish platter and fish platter with 4 different fish were delicious. Very good location, outside seating is recommended.

The fish I ate was very good, but there wasn't much choice, perhaps because I'm used to eating fish in Italy, the service wasn't that great, the environment wasn't much, little decoration, almost cold.

The food tastes really delicious, the service is always nice and friendly. My first choice in Cuxhaven, for 15 years I probably shouldn't tell anyone else otherwise I won't get a table there myself, 😂😂 I noticed negatively that some parents don't have their children or themselves under control, friendliness has never hurt 🤗🤗

As Cuxhaven residents, we have been coming to Bohlsen for years to eat good fish. We wanted to do that again together with visitors from the south - unfortunately the experience with the service this time was probably the worst I've ever had in a restaurant. We initially made a reservation by phone with the request that we take a table outside if the weather was good. This reservation was received in a friendly manner with the words “we can do it”. When we came to the restaurant the next day, the waiters were completely surprised because they didn't know of any reservations. We were asked the name of the employee who took it, but we didn't know. We were only able to say the time of our call - we were asked whether we had perhaps called the wrong restaurant, which I thought was a strange question and refuted by showing my phone history. There was only one free table outside without chairs, so we were asked to sit down inside. When we asked if we could put chairs at the empty table, we were told repeatedly, in a not particularly friendly tone and without explanation, "that's not possible" and then when we asked if we could wait for a table was free outside, we got "They've all just gotten their food" as an answer. So, a little annoyed by the tone of the service and the useless reservation, we took a seat inside - at a table that, in my opinion, was too small for a group of 6 people. We then ordered our drinks. When the drinks were already brought, we were informed that card payment was not possible today. I think it would be extremely unfortunate to only do this after ordering. At this point a sufficiently large table became free outside and so we asked if we could go outside now, whereupon the waitress said somewhat unfriendly that tables were booked in the cash register system and that this could not be changed. When we asked kindly whether we could pay for the drinks first and then continue sitting outside for a new bill, the lady became quite unfriendly and told us that she was far too stressed to move us to the table outside now. only to then stand at the counter chatting with the other service employees for almost 15 minutes. At this point there were around 30 guests in the entire restaurant with 3 waitresses... Now very dissatisfied, we ordered our food with the next damper - we had no more plaice. Good, annoying but it can happen, but it still clouds the overall picture. Instead I ordered a fish plate and the portion I received was a bad joke. Generously estimated a handful of fried potatoes and 4 very small pieces of fish. The fried potatoes were also lukewarm, limp, poorly seasoned and extremely fatty. However, the fish tasted good as usual and was fried to perfection. I was used to both the overall portions and the quality of the fried potatoes from Bohlsen and that urgently needs to be different given the high prices. Exactly at the moment when the clock turned to 8 p.m., the waitress stood with us and pointed out the opening times and that she now had to collect - but we were allowed to take the small remainder of our bottle of wine with us. However, the card payment now worked again...at least. There was no price reduction or even an apology from the service, which I would have thought was the minimum after this completely bad experience from start to finish. The bottom line is that this was the worst restaurant experience I have had in Cuxhaven so far and unfortunately I will no longer recommend Bohlsen in the future, but rather advise against it. It's a shame because I always enjoyed being here.

Food fresh and delicious. I ordered some tap water with the grappa. Snappy answer: "The tap water costs just as much as a glass of mineral water (3.90 euros!)" ??? "Yes, washing glass and bringing it here costs too!" Why so petty? Generosity attracts guests, not stubbornness and greed.

We bought various fish in the store, always delicious, fresh... simply recommended! And bought again today!

We sat in the outdoor lighting, the female waiter preferred to chat privately for a long time rather than give the customers the card. The male staff standing outside were not allowed to take orders. But what if they had had the time, the boys served the food, which the lady had eaten after quite some time.

We have been here several times over the past few years and have been satisfied. But recently I ordered four CRISPY FRIED fish fillets and received four limp fish fillets with also limp fried potatoes. As a restaurateur you simply don't serve something like that!!! If you don't value your guests, you shouldn't be surprised that they don't come back. We cannot recommend this restaurant!

As a fish eater, you also have to go to the harbor area because there is delicious fish there. We had cod fillet with fried potatoes, small. Salad greens for the eyes and tartar sauce. Price 22.90. As expected, the fish, location and service were top notch, but today at the Fischboerse we were much cheaper with the same quality. But everyone has to find that out for themselves.

Here you can eat delicious fish at fair prices. The service is very friendly and flexible. So we got a table specially put together for seven people, even though we came here very spontaneously. The portions and the taste represent a fair price/performance ratio. We had a fish platter with fried potatoes, which I can highly recommend. The children's portions were also sufficient and there was also ketchup. The children were even allowed to order more at no extra charge. The atmosphere is rather rustic and depending on the room, you eat either right next to the open kitchen - front cooking - or in the fresh fish and smoked fish sales room, which I can also highly recommend. There are plenty of parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. You can also easily get here by bike.

Not only is the service absolutely rude and not very competent, but the food was also cold. Let's start with the reservation, yesterday at lunchtime we had a table in the Bohlsen restaurant from Helgoland with the note that we would arrive in Cuxhaven by ship 🚢 Around 7:00 p.m. Hint, yes, we'll manage to accommodate them somehow. When we entered the restaurant at 7:17 p.m., we were greeted very rudely, with the words that they were late, we had turned off all the devices, and we could have reported that we were arriving late, especially the opening times and kitchen times from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the waitress had long since exceeded the tone and probably couldn't remember how we tipped in the past. Well, a few nice days of vacation didn't end on a positive note and we had to leave the restaurant. Question: how were the remaining opening times bridged? The place was empty. We will stay away in the future and recommend displaying a closed due to wealth sign on the front door.

We had a very good dinner here. The mixed fish platter and the plaice with crabs were very tasty. We were welcomed and served very nicely. You can sit here very comfortably outdoors but protected by a very beautiful illuminated pergola. The road in the harbor area was only lightly traveled and therefore very inconspicuous. We would come back again.

I really appreciate the smoked fish selection - everything is top notch. If one of the ugly wolffish heads is ever to be found in the display, I can only recommend that everyone invest the 4.50 EUR and try it, the smoked cheeks are a poem, ugly face or not. Smoked herring or smoked roe are also culinary eye-catchers - people take smoking seriously. And the fresh fish counter is not to be despised either. And I love the matjes - they are excellent!

We were here both for a fish sandwich at lunchtime (there was a lot of crowds because it was particularly tasty) and for a warm meal in the evening. The dishes are all freshly prepared. A super tasty experience. All the dishes we tried were served with a side salad with dressing, a lemon wedge, tartar sauce and freshly made fried potatoes. Unfortunately our vacation is now over but we will definitely be back and would be happy to recommend you.
