We always enjoy eating there. Delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. What more could you want? Highly recommended!

The fish was well fried and the portion was extremely generous. Very tasty and the price-performance ratio is also right. If you like eating fish, you've come to the right place!! Very friendly service staff, we would be happy to come back.

We ate here again yesterday (May 25th)... We were able to sit on the terrace again in the wonderful sunshine 👍. I have now corrected my rating to 5 stars. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. Portion was just right. Unfortunately, as usual today, drink prices are a little too high. But it was still worth every penny. Thank you very much. . 5 years ago: We had dinner at the restaurant last weekend. We had a nice spot on the terrace in front of the house. We ate the cuxland fish platter with 4 types of fish, boiled potatoes, salad and tartar sauce. The redfish was in beer batter and unfortunately not as good as the remaining 3 types... they were very good. The tartar sauce was too vinegary for me, but that's always a bit of a matter of taste. The portion was very generous! Despite the very high temperature, the service was very friendly and competent.

Really recommended. Small on the outside, but big on the inside. Typical North German hospitality. Reasonably large portions. Deliciously prepared. Dessert is always possible. Addendum, because we were there again this evening. When the food comes to the table, it's really hot. Rarely get food this hot in a restaurant.

Atmosphere appropriate to the location but not overloaded or intrusive. The offering is extensive and the service is extremely friendly and fast. The main thing: the food is excellent. I didn't even look for alternatives when I visited Cuxhaven. Thanks to the cooking and service team!

Great quality, reasonable prices. Friendly staff. I can only recommend the crab soup here to everyone! Unfortunately, the card reader often doesn't work and you can only pay in cash! Unfortunately, there is not enough attention to this! Note hangs in the far corner of the window, where no one is looking, instead of on the front door!

We were in Cuxhaven today and stopped at this restaurant for lunch. We had the fish platter for two and we were thrilled. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was very friendly and attentive. Since we were sitting right by the door and it was open, I started to feel cold. The door was then closed by the staff 🤍The restaurant has a typical harbor style, which we liked. The toilets are beautifully decorated in a maritime style and emphasized by funny sounds, such as seagulls crowing. Great, we'll be happy to come back on our next visit.

Located within the ferry port. More suitable than burgers for our taste. Pleasant spot at the end of March with a stiff breeze. Reasonable price-performance ratio. Service is friendly and attentive. The Aperol Spritz is also tasty. The Captain's Platter and redfish with potatoes and vegetables are generous portions and very tasty.

A very rustic restaurant with excellent fish dishes. My wife had hake that was fried super crispy, and I had a plaice fillet Büsum style, which was also beautifully presented.

Yesterday the three of us were there for a schnitzel meal. What can I say...it was excellent. You immediately notice that the food is cooked with love. Fresh schnitzel with delicious homemade sauces and crispy fries. The service was super nice and quick, especially the young girl who always had an eye on my glass and took great care of me. Thank you for that. Plus a nice boss...we were completely satisfied and will definitely come back...thank you for the great evening

Another great evening in a maritime atmosphere with excellent food and great service. There was a fisherman's breakfast and delicious zander fillet. For dessert there was Tartufo Bianco with Prosecco, very refreshing. Hus op’n Diek is highly recommended – we’ll always be happy to come back!

I had a delicious fish meal here with my wife today. It looked rather unassuming from the outside, but inside: WOW! A very quaint restaurant. The food and service were first-class. The recommended lemon cake for dessert was a dream. I highly recommend it.

What can I say? Discovered by chance, curiosity won and was not disappointed. The redfish was buttery and soft, tasted freshly caught as advertised, and the homemade tartar sauce was super delicious. For dessert I had the apple almond biscuit and I was really expecting something that was like a biscuit, but what I was served was a poem. Flavor explosion. What a great birthday present for me, I didn't expect it. If you are in Cuxhaven on the way to Duhnen, definitely make a detour there. 20/10 points!! 🤩😋

Everything is fine here. Food (plaice Finkenwerder / Büsumer style) was super tasty. The restaurant was packed and yet the service was attentive. So nothing to complain about but an absolute recommendation.

Turkey breast a little too fibrous. Apparently my reservation wasn't documented but we got a table. Sea noises in the toilet (e.g. seagulls).

We almost walked past it, inconspicuous from the outside. Mega tasty fish, tender, cooked to perfection. Vegetables, potato side dishes were great, remoulade/mayonnaise was probably homemade. Very friendly service, fair prices. Since one of us had to wait a bit for our food, we had a large glass of delicious red fruit jelly for dessert. Highly recommended!

Our lunch visit was a major letdown. Outside the restaurant there was great advertising for a plaice with boiled potatoes for €9.90. At 12 o'clock we asked personally how big the plaice was? Answer from an employee: “Normal size”. At 1 p.m. we went to the restaurant to eat plaice. The waitress said to us: "We don't have any plaice, they weren't delivered, but you can choose something from the menu" What is something like that? First you say the plaice are a normal size and then there are no plaice at all? Sorry, but something like that doesn't work at all. First lure the customers with attractive offers and then say you can choose something else from the menu :-( We definitely won't be coming back. We then ate delicious plaice in another restaurant ;-)

Very tasty every time, worth coming here

It was our first time there for the “Gamba’s Satt” meal and we were really impressed. We really enjoyed it :) The waiters were very friendly and attentive when we ordered something. First there was a small salad (we found the dressing very tasty). In addition to the Gamba's, which were always brought to the table fresh and hot, there were baguettes, potato wedges with dip and later garlic dip. We didn't get the bread at first, but we kindly gave it to us upon request... In total we got three "portions" of Gamba's, which was completely sufficient for us. Sure we could have had something a fourth time, but we were just full :) The Gamba's were well seasoned and simply very, very tasty :) We will definitely come back :)

We were there with 5 people without a reservation. Everyone had a different dish, which was no problem for the kitchen. All of the food was very tasty, plentiful and beautifully prepared. Afterwards, the dessert topped it all off. So delicious and lovingly served. We were thrilled and will definitely come back. The service was top notch.

During a short vacation in Cuxhaven we visited this restaurant again because we had fond memories of it. The food was fresh and very tasty. Unfortunately I have to deduct one star for the ambience because it was too cold in the rooms for January. Otherwise highly recommended.

Great restaurant near the old love at the harbor. The staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. The dishes are seasonal and there are special fish specialties. You can pay by card and the toilets are in the basement, everything else is on the ground floor. There are parking spaces nearby. The daily menu deserves special attention.

We were there with 6 people on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was already well attended and we were warmly welcomed and escorted to the table. The friendly service staff gave us good advice and the food was excellent. The dessert “warm apple pastry with almond crunch” is also recommended. A poem! Although after a short time the restaurant was almost full to the last table, there was no rush or discomfort. We'd love to come back!!

Good evening. My praise today goes to the restaurant Hus op'n Diek. We ate here today on December 25th, 2024. There was goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings and the second dish was duck breast with red cabbage and dumplings. The taste of the food was excellent. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sides were hot and tasty. We heard from family friends that there was a new head chef there and we wanted to see for ourselves. This was also very much to our conviction. If the standard of the kitchen remains this way, then this house will have brilliant times ahead. But not only is the cuisine very good, the service was also very good.

Went to the fish restaurant on a lousy winter day and left completely thrilled with the food and the service. You can eat really well here, the waiting time was short, the look on the plate was very good and the offer can always surprise you in a positive way. Keep it up.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The food was extremely sparse and of poor quality. My friend and I found this place by chance and I have to say that for the price you get food that tastes like it was reheated. Our bill for two people came to 45.60 euros, and after leaving the restaurant we went to another restaurant to have another proper meal. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Today we had the fish platter for 2! The fish selection was okay, the fish itself was well fried, but unfortunately very fatty! The beer batter was not crispy, but full of fat and therefore soggy and not tasty! The other fish fillets also had more than the usual greasy shine! The fried potatoes and the tartar sauce were ok. We explained our concerns to the waiter and the criticism was warmly received. As an apology we were offered a dessert or drink, which was very nice. We limited ourselves to a schnapps after dinner. The starter salad was also okay, as was the house bread with the 2 dips.

This is how a fish restaurant should be! The two of us ate here today on our last bike tour evening. First of all, the “Nordic” bruschetta, which tasted fantastic and was really appetizing. For the main course I had pasta and fish, finely balanced, prepared to perfection and beautifully presented on the plate. Fresh and well-seasoned food, simply very good. My wife had plaice with fried potatoes and crabs. Also a really very rich and delicious plate. Unfortunately, it's too much for them (but it's always in the eye or gut of the beholder). The service was attentive and very friendly without being intrusive. The ambience is very nice, fitting for a rustic fish house. Price-performance ratio was also good, absolute recommendation and would be happy to do so again. My personal icing on the cake: Zwickel beer in an iced clay mug. Overall, just a perfect evening, thank you very much.

For us, Hus op'n Dieck has been a part of a holiday in Cuxhaven for over 20 years (for my husband it has actually been for 40 years). And we are never disappointed here. The food is always delicious and the service and ambience are great too! Our dog is always welcome too. We'll definitely be back 😊🫶
