We hebben hier goed vis gegeten. De bediening was ook prima. We hebben tip gegeven via de kaart. We hebben duidelijk gezegd maak er €83 van. Waarom is er dan €84,95 ingetoetst (en op basis van goedvertrouwen afgerekend). Die klanken zijn in het Duits ook totaal anders voor deze bedragen. Jammer.

Die machen gerade eine harte Zeit durch; das Personal ist aber stets freundlich, auch wenn das Restaurant sehr gut besucht ist; das Essen noch wie vor gut, etwas Zeit sollte man im Urlaub ja immer für einen Besuch im Restaurant mitbringen; kommen gerne wieder

It was thanks to the bus that we saw the fish restaurant "Hus op'n Dieck". And so we arrived there later. It was still closed but we have time We ordered the fish platter “Jan Cux” with a hefeweizen. The Hus op'n Dieck filled up quite quickly and we just enjoyed sitting at the table Then came the large hot plate, and a little later the fish plate. Since we love hot food, we decided not to eat the plates but to enjoy the fish straight from the plate. And it had it all...really finally fish the way we like it. Delicious, well prepared and cooked. But the fish quickly got cold. Yes why? Solution the heating plate was cold on the outside. Just lukewarm in the middle. A mistake. Cold heating plate! Mustn't happen. Now our fish plate was reheated and the heating plate was replaced with a hot plate. It can happen but... No matter the fish was great, the fish platter corrected the stupid mistake to full marks. Yes, the heating plate is not always hot. We'd love to come back.

It's a shame that you have to give one star. Service was subpar - after 40 minutes the drink still wasn't there. Totally disorganized store. Fish (plaice fillet) was served with an indefinable slimy breading - simply inedible. Were there for the first time and probably the last time.

Very tasty fish platter. Service was nice and unobtrusive. Not an insider tip, but definitely a tip. Update 08/2024: We returned again. The food is still very tasty and the staff is still in a good mood. What was striking, however, was the enormous amount of fish that was served to us. I remembered it a little differently. The last piece actually had to be persuaded to find its way into the mouth.

The first establishment that happened on the way, where we stopped for lunch. I ordered a salad with shrimp, bruschetta with Nordic seafood (shrimp, haddock, herring). French fries later. Portions are huge, everything is delicious. The service is pleasant and fast. The interior is decorated in a marine style: on the walls there are photos and paintings on sea and fish themes.

Everything is very tasty! The service is really fast. Portions are very large. The restaurant itself is located not far from the observation deck, so you can find it very quickly. We ordered pasta with fish (large fish fillet, pasta with fresh tomatoes). There was also a shrimp salad. Shrimps are very tasty. One serving of fries is huge. In summary, you won't leave hungry ☺️ I recommend!

Unfortunately I have to complain. We sat for 15 minutes. No one came to the table... 3 tables away there were 4 people sitting in front of us. After asking several times, they received the menus... After another 10 minutes we got up and left. THERE WAS NOTHING GOING ON...So it wasn't stressful

We visited this restaurant several times on our last vacation in Cux. Same this year. But that was probably the last time. The service has become terrible. A completely new team was employed On the first visit, the waitress in the restaurant always had to calculate which table we had every time we ordered. With a bill with a tip of 80.- she had to calculate what she would have to give out on 100.-. She had us confirm the 20th again. On the second visit we sat outside at a table that was still untidy. We had to wait about 15 minutes (even though the waiter checked several times) until the table was cleared. The starter came without the beer we ordered with an iced mug. When asked, the waiter said he had already seen it on the counter inside. After asking again, the beer came. The mugs weren't iced ("we're out of iced ones") and the beer was room temperature. We had it returned. The next time we tried we got a slightly chilled beer, the new, uniced mugs came later, so we drank from the bottle at first. The food (panfish) was good. We had to contact us several times to pay. There are other restaurants in the area with much better service and just as good food, for example the restaurant "Stormflut" We later found out from a Cuxhaven resident that the restaurant is doing very badly (bankrupt) and that the restaurant in Sahlenburg is already closed. The restaurant only survives on tourist visits in the summer months, as the locals are busy the rest of the year. Because of the increasingly poor service (even from the previous team), we can no longer go there. If we are in Cuxhaven again next year, we won't go there anymore.

Very cozy atmosphere, you immediately feel at home. The service was very friendly and accommodating, with North German charm. The fish was cooked to perfection, the fried potatoes were really spicy, the Bismark herring was as it should be and the crabs as well, simply an excellent dish (captain's plate). The red jelly for dessert was pleasantly sour, which went perfectly with the vanilla sauce. We will definitely eat there again on our next vacation in Cuxhaven.

We were there a few days ago and were completely thrilled. Great and delicious food. And even though the staff was totally understaffed, they did a great job. What I really didn't like was the way the boss treated his staff. Instead of praising or perhaps even helping, he just blamed his great team. That's not right. Because they were really great!

warum curry in der backfischpanade? will ich curry geh ich zum inder! ich hatte mich so auf den salat gefreut, der war mal ausgezeichnet , geschmacklos und ohne soße. der fisch naja...das schnitzel meines sohnes tk-pressfleisch...alles in allem, es war hier mal gut...nicht mehr. den preis ist es nicht wert. einzig das personal war sehr nett, trotzdem nicht wieder.

The restaurant was always a good and important address for us to complement our vacation. Unfortunately this time we couldn't find the usual quality. We like to order panfish: fish unfortunately died twice, completely cooked through and dry, fried potatoes very fat and mushy, side salad dominated by radiccio, quantity very clear and for 6.90 euros. The reaction to our criticism was positive, we were offered a replacement or a drink on the house. Nevertheless, the recipe and quality have changed...which is a shame

Loveless presentation. Very unsuitable price-performance ratio 120€ for bad food. For €21.50 plaice with potatoes is such a small portion that you can't get enough. Very dry potatoes and lemons so apparently older. The schnitzel and the fries were very dry and there was no lemon or at least a little green and nothing, not even ketchup and mayo until asked. We also complained about it but our criticism was ignored. No apology, no greeting from the kitchen or an accomodation. Music also terrible (children's songs) and loud. We will not come back no recommendation!

For us it was the first and last time. Drinks arrived incorrectly. My daughter had 8 large pieces of ice cream in it that weren't even ordered. After I fished them all out, there was only half a glass full. The rest was ice cream. Food didn't arrive properly either, half of it was missing. And on the menu that was until 4 p.m. where we ordered the food, the price was not charged as it was written on, but the full price. There was such a mess when paying that the tables were swapped. Something mixed up in everything. The restaurant would no longer be an option for us.

We were guests today and treated ourselves to the fish platter for two people. The portion of salad as a starter salad was huge, crunchy, fresh and had a delicious dressing. The fried potatoes were delicious, just as fried potatoes should be, deliciously seasoned and crispy. The fish... a dream. The taste was wonderful. Here's a big compliment to the kitchen! The food was good, the team was charming, but it was also busy. What's not possible: The boss, supervisor, whatever was very unfriendly to his employees. For example, if the guests can audibly insult a (relatively new) employee on a tour as unprofessional, stupid, etc. because she ran out of change, but then doesn't offer card payment. Had the plaice “Finkenwerder Art”. The fish was not well done, had very tough skin on the inside and was not tasty. Unfortunately, the almost raw and very fatty ham cubes, some of which were hung together as a block, were very reminiscent of animal feed. The fried potatoes were refined with the same cubes and not seasoned. I have rarely paid so much money for such bad food. The ambience is loveless and more than outdated. The service was okay, but not appropriate for the high price level. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible either, which is quite standard in a "German" restaurant in 2024.

The decor is a bit old-fashioned, but the panfish tasted good - homely - and the dog got his water!

Nice fish restaurant on the dike. The service was friendly, the food came quickly and was good. Unfortunately, there was no indication from the staff that card payments were currently not possible. We didn't see the faded notes because we entered through the side entrance. So after eating the only thing left was a quick walk to an ATM. There was also no indication that the prices in the menu for crab dishes fluctuate depending on the purchase price.

We ordered crab soup, cutter plaice and redfish fillet. The crab soup was simply thickened with four flour, and that's exactly how it tasted. The redfish fillet was great, but the plaice was undercooked, unseasoned and had a strange taste. In any case, it was inedible. Am very disappointed.

Very nicely decorated in a maritime style and located on the dike. You can watch passers-by strolling outside. The selection is good... it's just a shame that Steinbeiser was just out. We had the fish platter for two people and were not disappointed. What should never be underestimated is how much the staff contributes to how comfortable you feel in a restaurant. They were all really nice and treated us like friends we were cooking for and not like strangers. Special thanks to Luca who served us and gave us good tips. Tip: Going to the toilets is also very fun. With engine noise from hidden speakers, you really feel like you're climbing into the belly of a ship.

Eating and drinking great. Unfortunately, at the end you are told that you can only pay in cash with a note on a faded printout in a window (not a note on the map, the homepage or the service). So the unpleasantly surprised guest has to walk to the ATM to get cash. Unfortunately, for this annoying flaw (ATMs are a 30-minute walk away) we only get 2 stars, as it surprisingly spoiled the end of our visit. Not a single regret or apology for it from the service. Is just the way. Unfortunately, the young colleague in service can't even manage a small smile and works emotionlessly like a robot. A pity. Could actually give a full 5 stars for the food. But paying with a card is really a matter of course these days and is definitely worth pointing out.

At the end of May we booked a table here for dinner. We chose the restaurant because of its history and the very good reviews. The service was quick...very quick and worked perfectly. We both took the pan fish with mustard sauce and were just amazed by the taste, the fresh quality and the price/performance ratio, as it was a very large portion (see photo). The furnishings are as old as the restaurant...40 years...and rustic. However, that didn't bother us because the taste is the main focus here. We will be back in the region in the summer and hope to be able to visit again. The neighboring table had the “Büsumer Platte” for 2 people but it would easily feed 3 people. There were also a lot of crabs on it.

We both had the plaice fillet, which was tasty and had good side dishes. Food came quickly too. The waiters were also nice and tried hard, but unfortunately every few minutes (easily 15 times in total) an order from us or around us was brought to the wrong table. I helped find the right table twice because I heard what the neighboring tables had ordered. Our food, for example, ended up in the hands of the people 3 tables away, who then realized upon closer inspection that it wasn't their food at all. Basically nice staff, but unfortunately a bit understaffed and disorganized. We paid around €50 with two people. Dogs allowed! Otherwise recommended!

Matig klaargemaakte vis, vette bratkartoffeln, onsmakelijk uitziende kartoffelsalat (oa veel te veel mayo) in een rommelige zaal met samengepropte tafeltjes. Wel een heel aardige ober, die ene ster is voor hem.

Gorgeous restaurant, absolutely delicious food, friendly staff. We had the Schollenfilet “Büsumer Art” and I can fully recommend. We shared the apple cake for desert and it was divine.

Unfortunately only 4 stars because some of the food was cold. However, the service responded promptly and nicely. Then the fried potatoes came with bacon instead of without. But the rest of the food was good. The fact that the double portion of crab was so small is probably due to the horrendous price of crab.

Seit vielen Jahren sind wir im Urlaub min. einmal hier. Aber so ein Desaster wie dieses Jahr haben wir noch nie erlebt. Reservierung wurde vergessen. Der dann zugewiesene Tisch stand mitten im Türzug. Viel schlimmer war das Essen: Brathering schmeckte wie aus der Dose, Bratkartoffeln ungewürzt und verbrannt und fettdurchtränkt, Die Fischfilets in Biersoße müssen TK gewesen sein. Reklamation und fast komplette Rückgabe des Essens wurde ignoriert. Nie wie dieses Restaurant.

Very rustic restaurant with great and tasty fish and meat offerings. The range of fish in particular is very extensive and the preparation is skilful. Very nice service, prices reasonable for today's times. We ate there several times and will definitely come back on our next vacation in Cuxhaven.

Older fish restaurant with friendly service and delicious food.

I asked for sweetener with my latte macchiato, you'd have to check. Asked the second time you had to look, asked another waiter he had to look. Simply no would have been enough. Last but not least came sweetener that had expired for 2 years.

We were visiting Cuxhaven and wanted to eat something. The food (panfish Cuxhaven style and three different types of fish with potatoes and remoulade sauce tasted sensational. The service was top and attentive. We can recommend the restaurant.

We ate here today because we were here last year and we liked it. But today we were less satisfied. We waited at least 30 minutes until someone came to accept the drink request. Then we had to wait a very long time for the drinks again. After we had almost finished the drinks, our food arrived .We had plaice with vegetables and potatoes. The plaice was very dry, like rubber, the vegetables, beans, zucchini and something else indefinable had a bitter aftertaste, the potatoes were very salty. This time the food wasn't very good. Maybe a new chef, etc. We definitely won't come back. For the quantity (small portion) and the food together, it's just too expensive. There are better fish restaurants.
