Very tasty food, in our opinion the best restaurant in the “Hafenmeile”. The smokehouse's own products stand out. Tastes great. We'll be back. Comfortable chairs, clean tables, clean menus make the small difference from next door.

A great fish restaurant with great service. We always eat there on holiday and have always been very impressed. The fish is great and the atmosphere is very cozy. Really worth a visit.

The biggest disappointment of my restaurant experience. Too much salt, black breading and incorrect cooking points. Never again and extremely expensive, all supplements have to be ordered and paid for separately.

We used to like to drive 350 km to eat great fish, it had been a real secret tip for years until this visit. Were totally disappointed with the food. The main course didn't even come with a side dish as usual - you had to order it for an extra 3.50. The fish was also no longer deliciously fried in the egg shell but was only prepared in the deep fryer. The delicious homemade potato salad was only available ready-made from the bucket. We have to look for another restaurant. SHAME!!!

We ate there on a Saturday lunchtime and were able to enjoy the food in peace on the harbor terrace. The staff were very friendly and explained in detail what the different dishes were about. The interior ambience of the restaurant is also very appealing. Sanitary facilities very clean. There are also delicious, freshly filled fish sandwiches that you can eat in front of the restaurant, for example in a beach chair. Gladly again at any time!

The Seeteufel is probably the best restaurant in Cuxhaven. other restaurants have gotten worse over time, or generally don't have good food. But after the second time here as a tourist, I feel compelled to open my voice, in a positive sense. The atmosphere is perfect. It happens that you think you are on a pirate ship. And the service? He's great! The people here beam with sympathy. But the food was kissed by God. There has never been such good food on my plate. I would like to come back to monkfish a third time, and probably more often. Bravo 👏

Top location of the terrace at the back. (In terms of the port, it's a bit shabby, but it has flair). Sun in the evening. Quiet location. Good fish, good wines, fried potatoes if necessary. Affordable, service a bit brusque but warm (I personally like that).

The three of us had lunch at Monkfish. At first it took a while to get the menu - we almost left. But the wait was worth it! The food was incredibly tasty: fried potatoes with fried parsley: delicious side dish. Diverse fish platter with delicious remoulade, the housewife-style herring had a certain acidity, but was not oversalted and was accompanied by a harmonious, gentle composition of apple, cream, rounded off with gentle onions. The highlight, however, was the warm, dry Nordic style of service. The friendly service perfected our experience at Monkfish.

When we were in Cuxhaven this was our favorite restaurant.. Price performance was right.... Were there again on July 20, 2024 and were horrified... After waiting for over an hour (even though there were few guests) our food came.. Fish over salted, fried potatoes greasy and were otherwise great.. Menu reduced... It's a real shame... If there is a new chef there, I would think about it and look for another one... Since the fries at the neighbor's table were returned... for that Price-performance ratio is unfortunately poor, the picture with the plaice is from 2023

My wife and I have often eaten at Seeteufel-Cuxhaven on vacation for the past 7 years and we have always been satisfied. But yesterday, June 5th, 2024, we were not satisfied, the reason was a slimmed down menu, you have to order the side dishes separately for the dishes, and the dishes no longer have the quality that we were used to. The price-performance ratio is no longer okay either .

We ate today on: June 5th, 2024 at the Seeteufel restaurant in the harbor of Cuxhaven. The pollock for €17.50 was nothing special, no side salad, the fried potatoes for €3.50 were scraped together from the frying pan, in my opinion, not good food. For me, that was my last visit to the monkfish.

I was there to eat a good and cheap fish dish. Went there last year and was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately the good impression is gone. When I ordered I was asked whether tartar sauce should be served with it and whether the fish should be fried plain or in an egg shell, but I wasn't told that this meant an additional charge of a whopping €3.50, just like the fries as a side dish, but at least that was was declared as such in the menu. Last year the dish was served to me with a side dish and was listed as such on the menu. The fact that I now pay a whopping €7 for a side dish and tartar sauce is usury. In addition, there were so many bones in the pollack fillet that I couldn't eat it all. All in all a huge disappointment.

All in all...we were completely thrilled. Food very good, service super friendly and ambience unbeatable. We were at the Fish Mile in Cuxhaven

Wir saßen auf der Terrasse gut geschützt vorm Wind in der Sonne. Nach einiger Zeit kam der Kellner und nahm die Bestellung auf. Nach einiger Wartezeit kamen die Getränke. Beim Essen ist ein Malleur passiert und eine Portion fehlte. Das Essen war gut … Bedienung immer mal etwas verteilt. Aber freundlich .. Man konnte ihm nicht böse sein da sehr bemüht.

A little out of the way, but very nice to sit outside at the harbor. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience with the food. The schnitzel in the children's plate was tough, my crab soup was curdled, and the salmon in the pancakes was also tough.

We were here for the first time today and ate on the terrace with a view of the old fishing port. Everything was excellent! It's nice when the food, ambience and service are in harmony. The quality of the drinks was also perfect. Both with the Primitivo and the Wildberry Lillet. We will be back!

***Update*** What happened to the food? On my last visit I was extremely disappointed. There is no fish platter anymore, the fried potatoes were too salty and looked like they were leftover from the pan. The fish was dry... a damn shame. You definitely still get a chance. Since it's not the season in Cuxhaven at the moment, I had the restaurant almost all to myself. Nevertheless, I was warmly welcomed and served. My Büsumer-style plaice fillet with fried potatoes was very good. The portion is more than generous.

A very authentic restaurant at the fishing port. Right at the entrance there is an extensive selection of smoked fish on the counter to whet your appetite. Our dogs were very welcome and we were shown to a great place. (I think every place here is great) With a lot of love and typical maritime elements, the hall was transformed into a cozy oasis. The service was simply great. North German charm and warmth, just as we love it. My husband and nephew ate crab soup, which is hard to beat. Then came fish & chips and fried fish fillet. I have to say: I have rarely had such good, fresh and tasty fish. And I'm from the north. We'll definitely be back, even for a day trip for lunch (it's worth the 3-hour drive). Keep it up.

Good food in a nice atmosphere awaits you here. We spontaneously came here for the first time. We were served by two real North German “originals”. The prices are okay and the portions are really. Everything was clean and tidy. Paying with a credit card was no problem.

In my opinion, the Seeteufel restaurant in the old fishing port is highly recommended. We were there for lunch today: an excellent fish soup, herring and a salad plate. It was excellent, with a very good price/performance ratio. We found it particularly good that all main courses are also available as senior plates (€2 discount). The portions were of a reasonable size for us. The staff was also extremely friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Das Restaurant befindet sich im Fischereihafen und ist wie alle anderen in diesem gebiet von der äußeren Erscheinung her gleich. Wenn man reinkommt erscheint es als käme man in einen Fischladen …,geht dann aber durch zum Restaurant. Es ist eine alte Fischhalle die urig und zweckmäßig eingerichtet ist. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen. Es ist etwas besonderes und das Essen ist absolut vorzüglich, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in Cuxhaven fast und schlagbar! Ich bin oft in Cuxhaven und gehe jedes Mal dort essen. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Mir hat es gefallen! Da es ein sehr sonniges Wochenende war und wir dachten, dass möglicherweise keine Plätze frei wären, versuchte ich eine Stunde vor Ankunft telefonisch einen Platz zu reservieren. Da es sehr windig war, hörte er nicht, was ich sagte , der Restaurantmitarbeiter legte auf und wir fragten uns, ob noch Plätze frei waren. Wir gingen hin, obwohl es vom Meer aus etwa drei Kilometer zu Fuß über den Fluss waren. Toller Ort, es gab viele freie Plätze im Restaurant. Uns hat es gefallen Die Atmosphäre. Die Kellnerin war nett (wir waren großzügig zu ihr) Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir werden im Sommer wiederkommen und das Essen auf der Terrasse genießen

Ein super schöner Abend. Das Essen kam sehr schnell. Vorspeise ( Muschelsuppe und Krabbensuppe) heiß und super lecker. Als Hauptspeise haben wir 3 alle was anderes an Fischgerichten bestellt und waren einfach nur begeistert. Selten so lecker gegessen, großer Dank an die Küche. Was man auf jeden Fall erwähnen muss ist die Top Bedinung. Eine Dame mit blauen Haaren. Super lieb und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen in unserem Urlaub nächstes Jahr auf jeden Fall wieder.

Leckeres Essen, eine gut gelaunte Bedienung, kurze Wartezeit. Genau richtig, wenn man hungrig durch den Hafen läuft.

Ich war mit meiner verlobten am Wochenende dort denieren und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen war lecker, die Preise waren. Das Ambiente ist schön Nordeutsch gehalten und die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Fahrt von Berlin nach Cuxhaven hat sich gelohnt.
