The service was good, edgy but with a soft touch 😉 We liked the surroundings, the fishing harbor. The atmosphere was great, the place is unique 👍 The fish was very good and beautifully presented. The prices were reasonable. We'll be back 😊

The fish platter with fried potatoes is a hit. Very fresh and deliciously prepared, and beautifully served.

We were there with our dog for the first time. Unfortunately, it was far too warm for us and not particularly comfortable for the dog to rest. It was also raining, and we were prepared to eat outside. It was quite crowded, and the service was probably busy. Since we still hadn't seen anyone after 10 minutes, we left because of the reasons mentioned above. I can't award points for food or drink; we didn't make it that far.

Nordic, affordable, and delicious. Our first choice for a snack between meals. The Nordic flavor is always evident in the service here, but for us, it's part of the culture.

Fish sandwiches that truly deserve their name. My herring sandwich (€4) came with three fillets.

It's a cool fish restaurant. The kitchen is open and visible in the middle of the room. The fish comes fresh from the store and is obviously brought in as needed. Overall, highly recommended for fish lovers.

We'd actually already had ice cream, but my wife insisted on asking for crab sandwiches because they're so scarce these days. Well, they had them here. And they were inexpensive and very tasty. My fishcake sandwich was also a dream. However, we bought our food at the snack bar/fish shop, so I can't say anything about the restaurant. But I definitely recommend it.

A fish sandwich of the lowest order! The fried fish sandwich is served with a frozen pollock patty, which oozes water when you bite into it. I completely fail to understand how fish sandwiches at a market in a small town in East Westphalia could be better than those on the North Sea. I have to appeal to the honor of the North Sea fishmongers here. This is simply unacceptable!

The Fischbröse in Cuxhaven is a wonderful maritime fish restaurant. We often drive up north from Munich and always combine it with a visit to Cuxhaven. The fish dishes are fantastic and delicious, a real treat. There's always freshly caught fish and daily specials. The restaurant is a museum, so there's plenty to see and the atmosphere is cozy. The staff are attentive, fast, and friendly. It's definitely worth a visit 😋 if you're nearby or on vacation in Cuxhaven. 😘👍

We had plaice Finkenwerder style with fried potatoes and cod with fries. Very friendly service. Prices were reasonable. Portion sizes were also good. Unfortunately, the fish came very (too) quickly—in other words, it was already pre-cooked. We noticed this. The food was very greasy, almost like a sponge in the frying fat. The taste was okay. Both fish were almost certainly fresh, not frozen. The atmosphere is pleasant—apart from the location right on the street.

Highly recommended if you want fresh fish 🐟, great prices, and everything is top quality. The ambiance in the adjacent restaurant is a bit dated... but if you like it, you'll be well catered for here too. I can recommend the fish platter, which has a very varied selection. You'll definitely be full 😉

We come here every time we're in Cuxhaven. Very good fish at reasonable prices these days. A rustic atmosphere, and the same woman has always served us so far; it's become part of the decor, typically Nordic :)

The matjes rolls are delicious and so fresh, you have to try them if you are in Cuxhaven.

The food was good, as expected. In addition to the fish, the fried potatoes were also tasty. The portions could be a bit larger for men who enjoy the sea air. Unfortunately, the gourmet fish platter lacked a description of the fish varieties. It would be particularly useful in touristy places like this. Today, the service staff seemed very busy. It's not yet peak season. A bit of a relaxed approach would help. They were nice. The ambiance is what I would expect from a fish restaurant. The decor underlines this. So, everything is harmonious.

Delicious fish food in a rustic atmosphere, you'll feel like a sailor.

Not really recommended; it takes a long time before you're served. The food is tasty, yes. Then it's time to pay, and there's the catch: you can't pay by card because the waitress hasn't been trained on the machine, so they'll take every last bit of cash out of your pocket.

We've been coming to Cuxhaven regularly since 1992, at least once a year for the past 15 years. A visit to the Fischbörse is always a must for us! In all these years, we've never been disappointed. The food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere are always wonderful! Not to mention the very reasonable prices for the excellent quality. In my opinion: Highly recommended!

The fish was very good, but the side dishes (fries/fried potatoes) lacked flavor. The waitress couldn't figure out how to use the card reader...there seemed to be no help available either...luckily we still had enough cash.

I had three different types of fish with potato salad. The fish was extremely dry and only edible with the potato salad. I left half anyway. I had already thought the restaurant might be a tourist trap. What a shame.

Today we chose the fish platter for two. A simple, no-nonsense dish, but absolutely delicious!

Went to the fish exchange for dinner today. Some of the fried potatoes were baked and not fried and others were partly burnt. Fish and fried potatoes very oily. Wife had Jägerschnitzel, which was quite tough. Both dishes were missing a bit of green salad, instead using carrots and coleslaw from the jar. Food was better.

This time again, a fish platter for two people and a Portuguese white wine were super delicious. May 2025 👌/A rustic restaurant with an atmosphere, we ordered mussels and were thrilled. Plus a Portuguese white wine. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back 👌

This was an oversized fish stick and not a fried fish

Traditional restaurant in an old, historic building, simple but clean, great cuisine!!!! I went on a recommendation and it was worth looking for!

We were full, delicious is different. We sat outdoors on the busy Hafenstrasse. Behind us was a family with a child who kept jumping around on the wooden floor, which caused considerable shaking. Our 6-year-old grandson sat quietly in his seat. After dinner, our daughter and our grandson looked at the history of the water tower on their cell phones. The volume was really very low. But the waitress felt compelled to reprimand us. Since we behaved more than correctly, that's not possible.

Unfortunately no, after about 15 minutes there was no waitress there to take the order. At the neighboring Tiach, only lukewarm tea was served. We moved to another restaurant.

A quaint fish restaurant. We had barely sat down before we already had the menus. Quickly selected and after about 15 minutes everything was on the table, drinks first of course. The food was delicious, staff friendly, what more could you want? The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. Many thanks to the entire team!

We had Limandes fillet with fried potatoes and homemade tartar sauce. There is no better way to prepare fish. Juicy and to the point. It was a very good meal. The atmosphere is technically rejected with lots of decoration and is well worth seeing.

Clear recommendation when it comes to fish. We spontaneously ordered a stremella salmon roll and were perfectly served and advised by the nice and friendly service. Only the seating on the street isn't perfect but it's better than nothing :-)

Every time I'm in Cuxhaven, three times a year, I get our fish sandwiches here. The Bismark herrings are super fresh and the fried fish is also freshly fried. The potato salads are also to die for. At the counter you can find everything fishy and your heart desires. The waitresses are consistently nice and accommodating. We always pick up food from street vendors, but you can also make yourself comfortable outdoors or eat in a restaurant. Great ambience, typical North German friendliness!

Nun, ich hatte einen privaten Termin in Cuxhaven und noch etwa 2 Stunden Zeit bis dato. Es war etwa 11.30 Uhr und das Frühstück lag schon einige Stunden zurück, so kam der kleine Hunger zur Mittagszeit auf. Da das Lokal in Bahnhofsnähe zu Fuß gut zu erreichen ist, schien es mir geeignet für eine Probe der warmen Küche. Die Küche in meiner Heimat dem Nordharz ist traditionell sehr wildlastig und wenn ich schon mal an der Nordseeküste bin, dann sollen es auch Seefischgerichte sein, die bei mir daheim doch eher selten serviert werden. Das Wetter war frühlingshaft sonnig und lud zum Freisitz vor dem Restaurant ein. Kurz innen Bescheid gegeben, nahm ich draußen Platz, wie nach mir auch noch 4 andere Gäste. Prompt wurde die Karte geliefert und es konnte losgehen. Sehr schnell viel meine Entscheidung auf den "Kapitänsteller" (3 hochwertige Fischfilets in der Pfanne gebraten mit Bratkartoffeln und Salatbeilage) dazu bestellte ich noch eine Portion Remouladensauce extra und einen Softdrink, da ich später noch Autofahren musste. Was soll ich sagen, die Fischfilets waren Kabeljau, Rotbarsch und Lachs und die Bratkartoffeln, obwohl aus vorgekochten Kartoffeln gebraten (Gastronomie eben), sehr schmackhaft. Ich bin durchaus ein Schwergewicht und war sehr gesättigt. Alles richtig gemacht. Ich hielt mich etwa eine Stunde an dem Freisitz dieses Lokals auf, aber wer beobachtet hat, was in dieser Stunde dort an Essen verkauft wurde, der wird guten Gewissens wieder kommen. Viele Einheimische Arbeitnehmer verbringen dort gern ihre Mittagspause. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis war stimmig, das Servicepersonal arbeitete zügig und zuvorkommend, so dass ich der Rechnung gern etwa 4 €uro Tipp hinzufügte. Von Montag bis Donnerstag gibt das Lokal seine Öffnungszeit von 11.00 bis 17.00 Uhr an und wem es in dieser Zeit nach lecker Seefisch gelüstet, sollte dort unbedingt einkehren. Wenn ich das nächste Mal in Cuxhaven bin, komme ich sehr gern wieder!

It doesn't get any fresher than this! The Fischbörse not only has a restaurant, but also a fish counter – and there I got a Bismarck roll that absolutely impressed me. Perfectly marinated fish, crispy onions – so good you don't even miss the sauce. Simply pure enjoyment!

In the middle of the old fishing port in the former fish auction halls is the Fish Exchange, a maritime fish restaurant + fish exchange, i.e. trade. The interior takes you back years and reminds you of a quaint sailor's bar. The fish tasted very tasty and, above all, fresh. Very nice staff, great decor and a huge selection of fish dishes. I can therefore only warmly recommend the location for fish lovers. 👍

I came to eat with my family, the ambience and location of the restaurant is very good but the waiters are very cold towards the customers (not just us), the food could be prepared a little more with love, it is simply fried on the fat and thrown onto a plate. What bothers me most is that the children are unfriendly. We didn't even get a "welcome".

Very good fish dishes on offer. I choose a fish platter with fried potatoes, my husband chooses cod with fried potatoes. Both tasted good, we were missing a little salt and they could have been a little crispier but that's a matter of taste. The fish is tender and tender, not a single bone. The sometimes icy cold through the entrance door and the door to the fish shop bothered us. I then put the jacket over my legs so I could stand it. The service initially took a lot of time to operate and we also had to remember when paying.

Saturday evening it was a beautiful sunny day and many guests in the restaurant. Two very young people in service who were friendly but with little experience and a woman did the kitchen. The team was hopelessly overwhelmed. We had fish cakes with fries, there was nothing wrong with that, and the fisherman's breakfast with North Sea crabs, fried potatoes and fried eggs. An expensive dish on the menu. The crabs were musty, no longer fresh and the fried potatoes didn't deserve the name. Consistency and taste a 4-. There is the restaurant and fish shop next door which was busy all day. This raised high expectations that were not fulfilled. Too bad. When I was paying, I asked the young man in service if anyone had dropped out. No, that's not the case, he said with surprise when asked. There's a lot going on with the nice weather. Besides, there seemed to be only tourists in the restaurant.
