Good morning! My wife and I ate fish rolls at Gosch here in Cux for the first time... and for the last time! Unfortunately the rolls were quite small and the roll was sticky... there was no lettuce leaf... In addition, there were some things that were not available here at Gosch in Cux that are available at Gosch on Sylt... for example the delicious salmon sausages...! Conclusion: Big name - nothing behind it... It's kind of like fast food - Gosch is now a chain with all the negative characteristics... Then you'd better go back to our "fish roll and street food dealer" on the main street in Duhnen... PS: I also find it strange that the outline of Sylt is emblazoned above the “Gosch Sylt” restaurant! I would find it more appropriate if it said "Gosch Cux"... With the distinctive red "X" ...the thing with the "Sylt" in the logo had already bothered me at Gosch in St. Peter Ording...

For a relatively large amount of money, average food made from fries

Nicely furnished and good location right on the beach. Otherwise the usual Gosch quality with a great bar.

Apart from the lack of seasoning, we found our food (cod and fried fish) ok. In the children's menu we were surprised when it came to the salad, half a slice of cucumber where the middle was still missing 😂😂 Unfortunately there was no changing facility either

Gosch is simply part of every holiday. Large selection of fresh fish, processed into delicious dishes.

I asked yesterday if I needed to pre-order mussels! It's posted everywhere in the restaurant and advertised on every table. In October we are in the middle of the season. Simply go to the kitchen area and order was the answer. I come there today and I'm told mussels won't be available again for another 3 days. Absolute impudence, that was it for me. Gosch in Duhnen never again, I feel totally betrayed here!!

Good fish fry cuisine in the heart of Duhnen. I only give it 4 points for self-service. The restaurant makes a clean and well-kept impression. Food freshly prepared.

Food is OK for a snack. Service is rather lackluster, without empathy for the guest, which unfortunately suits Germany's service desert all too well. Not everything can be excused by a lack of staff.

Just a Gosch like all the others, just in a very unfavorable location with a direct view of the dike. I can't give more stars for self-service.

So, I bought 1 Matjes roll and 1 Bismark roll for €4.30 each. I had to look for the fish at the matjes roll. So not a whole herring fillet, but 2 quarter pieces and not even remoulade underneath. And on a dry bun. The Bismarck herring wasn't any better. So I had different memories of Gosch. So the price-performance ratio is not right there at all. My conclusion is never to eat at Gosch again. This is really a rip off.

Food was good, portions were ok, everything went pretty quickly. Just like you're used to at Gosch. Drink prices are quite steep (0.4 l Alster + 0.4 Diet Coke = almost € 10.-)

Location great, fish rolls I would like a fresh bakery roll for the price…

My wife and I were thrilled. We only know Gosch from Sylt and wanted to try it out in Duhnen and it was great. The food was quick and tasty and so were the drinks. Nicely decorated inside...we will come back.

The fried fish with fries is always top notch at Gosh. The staff is friendly.

Unnecessarily complicated organized self-service, inattentive employees, taste-anemic dishes. The store isn't running smoothly and the lack of a view doesn't make it worth the visit.

At gosch, as almost always in other places, you sit in the front row. You have to queue to get food and drinks. I had a fish soup. It was very tasty. Service at the table would of course be more relaxed.

Food a little more expensive, but delicious!

There is a branch of the Gosch chain on the promenade. Classically furnished, as you would expect from Gosch, you can order drinks and food from different counters. As always, the selection is sufficiently large, but the prices are now quite high for the type of gastronomy. We had the fish soup and a fried fish with couscous salad. The couscous salad was only available with vegan fried fish. Therefore, the service should be mentioned positively here, which made the couscous salad possible as a side dish to the regular fried fish. The taste was also completely fine, but not that 5 stars were necessary. Overall, you already know what you're getting here, hence a solid 4 stars.

You can eat good fish. So far it's okay. Service is only available in the form that the table is cleared after the meal. However, these employees are extremely friendly and always with a smile. You have to bring your own food and drinks.

They live from their good reputation, but no longer live up to it September 2024 Pan fish was dry not seasoned Steinbeiser fillet full of bones, not seasoned and dry. My recommendation is to fry for a little less time so the fish stays juicy.

Anyone who knows Gosch on Sylt will be disappointed with Cuxhaven

Incredibly unfriendly staff, which doesn't apply to everyone, but unfortunately clearly stands out. We were there three times and each time we unfortunately had soggy, unfriendly encounters. I don't know that from Gosch. The food is nicely prepared and ok. However, a certain amount of friendliness and at least a small smile is just as important as a good meal... It's a shame that this isn't available here.

The food is ok, what's not good is the sometimes rude staff. You get irritated or cheeky answers to normal questions. Too bad. But it's a self-service restaurant anyway. However, I think this is a NO-GO. PS: If you ask around, many others share this opinion. At least the shrimp tasted good. However, the “garlic baguette” has little to do with a garlic baguette and tastes like nothing and is very dry.

The whole facility was very clean and well maintained. Staff were absolutely friendly despite the stress. Beautifully located right on the water. You can sit inside, outside or in the winter garden. We really enjoyed and enjoyed it. Thank you...

Just a gosh. When you come here you know what to expect. The food is ordered and then picked up at the counter. The rooms are beautifully furnished and invite you to linger. There is also some seating outside. The only thing is that unfortunately you don't have a view of the North Sea. Other Gosch are better. The food was great. We come here regularly and also enjoy the Gosch wines. Some of the staff have been there from the start. This speaks for a good relationship between employer and employee. It should be mentioned that the toilets are also very clean.

That was a total failure. A step backwards in quality. Vegetables completely overcooked, dripping with fat. Shrimp cooked past the point. Fish didn't seem fresh either. The worst meal of our vacation so far, only the drinks were super chilled.

The food was better. We actually just went because of the location and the name. The food was much better on Sylt. I can't necessarily recommend the restaurant in Duhnen.

Finally fresh fish🤩 and very tasty too. Staff very quick (SB) and friendly. Will eat there again!!

You can sit outside here and admire the people and the landscape. Fried fish with fries €10.90 (for frozen goods) and small wine spritzer €4.50. You can really save yourself that and instead get a fish sandwich from a small stall and sit on a bench.

Try to keep it short🫣the name is or should be Program and yes, here we managed to meet the expectations that, at least in my opinion, people have of Gosch, to hold a candle to the original and to implement it across the board. This is certainly thanks to the time of year, as the season is clearly coming to an end and the stress factor for the very nice and attentive staff is no longer quite as high. 1) great food menu. 2) Everything was freshly prepared and you can watch it. 3) Both in the local area and on the large terrace area you can sit comfortably and comfortably and everything is clean and the table decorations are not overloaded with thousands of offers such as “ship tours etc.”, and the tables were even wiped down in between. 4) From various beach chairs to normal tables and seating, to bar tables with comfortable bar stools, everyone should find their place. 5) The usual self-service concept works 100% here and, cleverly, there was no sign of a lack of staff here. 6) Prices are of course adapted to the name and location but as I said, fresh, super tasty, great plates and ambience just go together. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the “fine fish soup”, but it was also sensational and served super hot in great porcelain. Very happy again, thank you very much for that.

Food: Pike perch fillet with a mini portion of fried potatoes for 23.50 euros. Expensive, didn't fill me up, unfortunately little taste apart from the tartar sauce. Make the portions bigger! Overpriced.

You don't need to say much about Gosch. Delicious fish and wine with self-service. The location is not quite as atmospheric as other locations on the North and Baltic Seas

I can highly recommend this restaurant.

There were four of us there with our two children and we all ordered fish and chips (portion for €9.90) as the snack bar style "map" above the counter listed quite high priced items. Most of them were well over €20 to almost €30. Our chips were normal French fries (we were expecting potato wedges) and five small fish bites each deep fried in a breading. Plus a tartar sauce. The taste was good, but for the price there was very little fish and too many fries. The “restaurant” is located directly on the dike, approx. 50 m from the beach as the crow flies. The ambience, at least the outside area and the counter, can hardly be described as a restaurant but rather as a "snack bar". I can't say what the guest area looks like inside the premises because we weren't there. Under the glass "canopy" and the glass walls of the porch it was relatively warm and just bearable, as the heat accumulated behind or under the glass. Directly in front of the open outdoor area there is a small, narrow promenade that separates the building from the dike. Overall it was ok, but nothing earth shattering. Other guests had higher priced food and the portions looked ok when walking past, but also seemed very expensive. Considering that you're right on the North Sea, the fish prices in this restaurant are pretty high. You placed the order at the counter and had to pick it up yourself. When the order was ready, this was signaled via a beeper or dongle at the table. This further underlined the feeling of being in a snack bar rather than a restaurant, even though there were waiters around.

Gosch in Cuxhaven is nice but with the restaurants on Sylt not to be compared. Food was good and inexpensive. Baked fish with fried potatoes €10.40. Price performance good.

2 rolls with Bismarck herring and 1 roll with salmon for a total of €14.10. The rolls were so dry and hard that my palate still hurt after eating them. This remains a one-off visit.

Self service, unfortunately no effect on the price, food is solid but priced at the top. Get it yourself. Even my 4 year old criticized children's meals as being very poor, only nuggets with fries (fish or chicken). Small portions of fish or small crabs wouldn't be too difficult to represent...

The food is the best Gosch quality. There's nothing to say there. The employees in Duhnen are very accommodating. A stay there is very pleasant. Always my pleasure.

We just had a drink outside the restaurant and sat comfortably in a beach chair on the Duhner Promenade. Nice little stop!

Anyone who loves fish knows Gosch. As with all fish products, the prices are not entirely cheap. But every now and then you can afford it.

I bought 2 fish sandwiches. The fish was dry and tough, the herring salty and old. Lovelessly topped, dry rolls. Too expensive for that, that's it...

The food was absolutely outstanding. Fine fish soup, oysters, scallops with king prawns - really great. The “surroundings” take some getting used to. Rustic seating and tables, self-service with pager, when the food is ready, then pick it up and distribute it yourself... It has something of a classy canteen...

Fast food, self-service. Little interest, we find much better. The fact that the name Sylt is used surely keeps the brand alive.

We were there with several people and sat outside in the sun. This is a good place to sit and watch the hustle and bustle on the promenade. Unfortunately it's only self-service, which we don't like. But most guests seem to be happy with it. The wine, Pinot Gris, was very well tempered and tasted excellent.

Stopped here spontaneously after our beach afternoon, ordered the food and drinks ourselves and picked them up ourselves. We enjoyed it. Yummy!

Good and delicious food, we missed you a little more balance in the distribution between seafood and side dishes.

You feel very comfortable while eating. Whether outside, under cover or inside the house, it is beautifully decorated. Personally, I'm not that convinced of the "go fishing" principle, but that's a matter of opinion. The food was okay. I didn't think it was bad but it wasn't anything special. We would probably come back again.

Portion is manageable and rather carelessly prepared. Baked fish looks like it came from the factory (which is not the case everywhere). No recommendation!

The Gosch is a good fish restaurant with self-service when ordering. The service is very friendly. You can sit on the terrace, in the winter garden or in the restaurant and look at the dike. Everything, including the toilets, were clean. I just didn't give full marks for the service and ambience, because both the equipment and the service for the customer could be a little better, but not because the existing thing has deficiencies.

I have never eaten such expensive Maggiwasser (fish soup) with garnish in a train station hall (restless and loud). Save yourself the trouble of visiting restaurants on the promenade. Everything is overly expensive. There are also good restaurants on the main street.

We last visited Gosch in Duhnen at the turn of the year. Is still recommended although the portions have become significantly smaller.

Gosch was once an institution on Sylt. Today Gosch's quality is at best comparable to a fast food chain. The prices don't even begin to match the products. If I want to eat fish, I know much better restaurants in Duhnen and the surrounding area.

One star is already too many I politely asked for gluten-free fries. Was treated unkindly, should eat baked potato. Then he immediately turned around and didn't pay any more attention. Gosch Cuxhaven never again

We ate there 4 times in September 23, always good and the place was always full. Disappointed today. Fine fish platter doesn't save money. Brathering is dry and the chicken pieces on the children's plate are burnt. 4 tables are occupied in the winter garden, the interior is empty Gosch duhnen no longer has to be the case

We were there on July 1st, 2024 and just wanted to eat something "in between", i.e. fish sandwiches. So once Bismarck rolls and once salmon rolls. The baguette bread was rock hard and after a very short time the fish became, let's say, "noticeable". Nausea and .... (you can already guess) is said to be harmless. Actually, every Gosch restaurant should have the same quality. But for us it was the first and last time we were there. Thanks for 2 days of involuntary weight loss!!!

You like Gosch or you don't. We like it. A wide selection of wines with good prices. Very friendly employees, most of whom have been there for a long time and we had a very nice conversation with the operations manager. It's a shame you can't see the sea, otherwise it would be perfect.

A very nice restaurant. Clean and with lots of space, inside, outside and in the “winter garden”. Cuxhaven/Döhse has finally got something modern in terms of gastronomy. Cux always seems a little “old school”. The food was very tasty, the service was friendly. I don't think it's a good idea that you have to order drinks and food at the counter, but that's the system at Gosch. Well, the food is delicious.
