We held a small family reunion there. Super great location. The service staff were all super nice and in a good mood. The food was very tasty.

We were here on Friday. We had easily reserved a table the day before. If the weather is good, you should still take a little time with you, but it's worth it :)

In the course of the tasting, the menu that was given to me in advance was given a new lease of life: change in the description including the price: price jump by €7.50! We ordered heifer with fried potatoes (medium), an indefinable piece of meat was delivered completely fried to death. The fried potatoes were mushy and dripping with fat. The second dish was ox cheeks with red cabbage and dumplings, unfortunately also a letdown because the meat had lumps of fat and the dumplings were dry and tasteless. Oh yes, unfortunately the homemade aioli was also a very runny garlic broth that didn't taste good. So it failed across the board, never this restaurant again.

We went there on a recommendation. The heifer steak was supposed to be medium rare and was fried to death and smeared with an indefinable paste. Instead of crispy fried potatoes, there were pale potato slices dripping with oil. I left almost everything on the plate. The employee asked if it was tasty, he wasn't prepared for a no, but there was no further response. The staff seemed overwhelmed That was our first and last time

I was there for the first time with friends. In the beer garden. Nice to sit under the trees in the shade. My steak with large salad was just how I like it. The herb butter was obviously homemade, and the yoghurt sauce was also very tasty. The staff is attentive, one or two are still learning, the specialist balanced that out charmingly.

My wife had a burger and I had the ox cheeks myself. The burger was very good, the ox cheeks were simply heavenly. Chapeau, this is what a meal in paradise must taste like. Whether for a high-quality meal a la carte or for a cup of coffee, I always feel well looked after and welcome at the farmer's restaurant in Witzhelden. The dishes are thought out and prepared with great attention to detail. My favorite fries are here! In addition to the restaurants, there are two farm shops in the neighboring buildings with local products and a variety of dairy products from our own production. These alone are worth the trip! Countryside fun is also available for campers. I can't speak from my own experience here, but I know what's on offer. I'm already looking forward to summer, when you can sit in the beer garden in the unique backdrop of the Bergisches Land. Addendum: We took friends from Vienna there and the Wiener Schnitzel was impressive. The Rusti Burger was admired. Addendum 2: We were at the “20 Years of Rusticus” celebration yesterday and celebrated better than we have in a long time. A very big thank you to Rusticus and its fantastic team."

Unfriendly waiters. No offers regarding lactose intolerance e.g. Oat milk. Don't move with the times. A pity Lactose intolerance is not a fad but a serious illness

Delicious food, the beer garden behind the house is open. In a meadow under trees. Food and drinks are available directly on site.

We are very disappointed. Celebrated a birthday. We waited at least half an hour until a waitress came. Then we had to wait another 2 hours for the food. That was probably forgotten. No compensation or apology for that. Luckily the weather was nice and the children were able to play outside. The food wasn't really tasty. Fries not crispy. Goulash was not tender. The red cabbage was totally inedible. When we asked if it tasted good, all we got was a stupid comment that others said it would taste good. I think if there aren't enough staff then you would have to block tables and reduce the menu. It's a real shame, it used to be a great restaurant.

A pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. Once you order, the service is quick and the food is of the highest quality. The sanitary facilities are very clean. €€

Very good restaurant, very friendly staff

After a short hike we stopped here for dinner. We were lucky and got a seat in the restaurant on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The service was friendly and attentive. The food (veal schnitzel and coleslaw) tasted very good. I liked the fact that the side dishes for the schnitzel can be chosen individually. You can pay in cash, contactless (also with a Visa card). If we are in the area again, we would like to come back.

The mushroom schnitzel with fries and side salad was very tasty. It wasn't swimming in sauce and wasn't mushy. The portion is really big for the price, I couldn't manage it. Allow for a slightly longer wait when waiting for food and drinks. We waited a good 1 hour

As the name suggests, the restaurant is rustic and good. There were 10 of us there in the evening. Service friendly and well. I ordered the steak medium. Which was rather rare. Not pink but bloody raw in the middle. I also found the steak to be small. There was no weight information. It felt like it was only 140g. In addition, the food was more lukewarm than warm or even hot. Fries were fresh but also lukewarm. The salad was good. The Jägerschnitzel, on the other hand, was generous and tasty. But also lukewarm. The burger was tasty too. Conclusion: We won't come again. €27.50 for a small steak and you don't have to have the lukewarm meal again.

We had dinner with 4 people and we were all absolutely thrilled. It started with the very friendly reception and the very friendly service. The food was very tasty and the portions were large enough (we were all full and didn't eat everything). We will definitely come back. Highly Recommended !!!

The best farmer 😅😀 who is also 💞 a restaurateur

Wir waren am ersten Weihnachtsfeiertag zum gemütlichen Familienessen im Rusticus. Das Bedienungspersonal war mit augenscheinlich 3 Leuten auf der oberen Etage recht dünn aufgestellt. Der Tisch war schön gedeckt und die Getränke kamen zügig. Wir haben als erster Tisch im Raum bestellt und bekamen zügig den ersten Gang (Suppe & Garnelen). Anschließend gab es als "Gruß aus der Küche" Brot mit Salzbutter. Ich empfand die Menge an Brot (8 Scheiben) für 7 Personen ein bisschen wenig, auch weil der zweite Gang länger auf sich warten ließ. Nach ca. 2 1/2 Stunden kam die Hauptspeise, die wirklich sehr lecker war und alle Speisen waren auch gut temparatiert. Kurze Zeit später kam der Nachtisch, der auch sehr lecker war. Ich beziehe mich mal auf die anderen Kommentare: Man musste für das Essen wirklich viel Wartezeit einplanen, das Personal war schlichtweg überfordert, aber nett und hilfsbereit. Bei uns im Raum sind zwei Gesellschaften nach 2 Stunden gegangen, da sie bisher erst die Vorspeisen erhalten haben. Eine Gesellschaft hatte kleine Kinder, deshalb konnte ich deren Entscheidung auch absolut nachvollziehen. Die Wartezeit hat sich jedoch absolut gelohnt; die Hauptspeise war lecker, der Nachtisch super und die Wartezeiten konnte man mit ausgiebigen Gesprächen und einer Bescherung überbrücken. Die Menüauswahl war mit insgesamt über 20 Kombinationsmöglichkeiten (da man die Gänge aus jedem der 4 Menüs einzeln wählen konnte und auch nur 3 Gänge bestellen konnte) zu unübersichtlich. Die Küche hat bei so vielen Kombinationen viel Zeit benötigt. Vorschlag für nächstes Jahr: 3-Gang Menü (verpflichtend) mit einer Auswahl aus 2 Vorsuppen, 3-4 Hauptspeisen und 2 verschiedenen Nachtischen. Kann genauso "edel" sein und vermindert den Arbeitsaufwand für Küche und Bedienung. Ich kann alle anderen Kommentare zu gestern absolut nachvollziehen; der Restaurantbetrieb hat sich gestern einfach übernommen. Wir waren trotz den knappen zeitlichen Slots zufrieden und würden demnächst auch wieder kommen.

Die Organisation des Weihnachtsessen war sehr schlecht, trotz der Vorbestellung der Personenzahl. Personal war überfordert. Nach einer dreiviertel Stunde wurde nach Getränken gefragt und das Essen aufgenommen. Das Essen wurde dann nach 2 1/2 Std serviert.

Wir waren Brunch Essen war alles sehr lecker.

Es ist ein schönes Restaurant, mit einem schönen Hofladen,die Bedienung im Restaurant ist sehr,sehr nett.Preis/Leistung stimmen auch!

Es gibt immer wieder Restaurants, die man nicht kennt und wir waren sehr überrascht...tolles Ambiente, regionale Gerichte. Von Wild bis Schnitzel und vieles mehr..sehr freundliches Personal..wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt...sehr zu empfehlen...Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Leider haben wir eine uninteressierte, unfreundliche und unmotiviert Servicekraft erwischt. Schade, daß Essen war wirklich lecker.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal bei euch. Eine sehr nette Atmosphäre und sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service. Die bestellten Waffeln, Kuchen und Getränke kamen schnell obwohl es sehr gut besucht war und es hat allen gut geschmeckt. Zum Schluss noch im Hofladen gewesen, der sehr gemütlich eingerichtet ist und selbstgemachten Joghurt und Frischkäse mitgenommen. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.

Essen war Top nur die Portion hätte für den Preis etwas größer sein können ( Hirsch Gularsch)

Essen war lecker und angemessen bepreist. Service war auch mit einer größeren Gruppe nicht überfordert. Super! So gar nicht ging der elektrische Zaun 2 Meter (!) vom Sandkasten entfernt sowie ein Haufen scharfkantiger Steine - ebenso mitten auf dem Spielplatz.

Ein Service, wie man sich ihn als Gast wünscht -aufmerksam, gut gelaunt und kommunikativ. Wir hatten den Rustico Burger sowie die Linguine Pesto bestellt. Die Nudeln waren mit Sahnesoße was bei einer Pesto erstmal nicht zu erwarten ist aber nichts desto trotz sehr lecker. Der Burger war ebenfalls sehr schmackhaft. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und einladend. Wir empfehlen dieses Gasthaus gerne weiter😀Fotos gibt es schon zu diesen Gerichten, deshalb haben wir darauf verzichtet und uns ohne vorheriges Foto über das köstliche Essen hergemacht☺️🫢übrigens ist die Aioli mit einem Hauch von Limette sehr köstlich.

Ich war zweimal dort. Beim ersten Mal wirklich gut gegessen. Leider unfreundliche Bedienung. Beim zweiten Mal waren wir mit Reservierung dort. Ja, es war viel los, aber nach 20 Minuten Warten hatten wir noch nicht mal Speisekarten erhalten. Keiner interessierte sich für uns. Sehr traurig. Ist zwar um die Ecke, aber ich komme nicht mehr wieder.

Essen ist lecker aber leider zu wenig drauf

Sehr nette Location. Ich kenne das Rusticus nun schon seit über 12 Jahren. Innen gemütlich, urig. Außen toller Biergarten. Auch sehr schön mit dem Spielbereich für Kinder. Vorschlag: Hier wäre eine kleine Erweiterung um einen Sandkasten und ein paar Geräten/Sandspielzeugen für Kleinkinder noch ein Traum. Der Service ist stets schnell und freundlich, selbst bei viel Betrieb. Die einzelnen Gerichte sind wirklich sehr lecker und hier stimmen noch Preis und Leistung überein. Egal ob Burger, Schnitzel oder Tagesgericht... Schade ist nur, dass bei Überarbeitung der Speisekarte die wirklich tolle Käseplatte mit den Variationen und dem leckeren Brot entfernt wurde. Dieses "urige" Gericht gehört einfach zum Rusticus...Beim letzten Besuch gestern konnte man die Nachfrage hiernach auch von Nachbartischen hören... Es gibt fast nichts Vegetarisches...Dafür aber den Burger mit Fleisch aus dem eigenen Betrieb. Bei den Salaten wäre etwas mehr als eine halbe Scheibe vom selbstgebackenen Brot toll. Dafür schmeckt es einfach zu gut. Ein Besuch des Rusticus lohnt sich aber definitiv. Dabei sollte man auch unbedingt in den beiden Hofläden noch einkaufen...

Ich war hier schon zum zweiten Mal essen und sehr zufrieden. Ich esse immer Burger, da das Fleisch aus eigener Zucht kommt und ich darauf großen Wert lege. Es schmeckt wirklich sehr gut. Service ist top. Super nett und das Essen kam schnell. Man sitzt auch sehr gemütlich . Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder

Die Bedienung war gut, aber das Essen und die Speisekarte war miserabel. Die Jägersauce war genau so warm wie das Weizenbier. Ich denke hier werde ich nicht mehr einkehren. Schade, denn es ist ein schöner Biergarten.

Meine Frau und ich waren am 07.06.2023 nach 18 Uhr zusammen mit Freunden, und heute Mittag alleine in dem einzigartig schönen Biergarten zu Besuch. Zu beiden Terminen wurden uns Getränke und Speisen zu einem hervorragenden Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in erstklassiger Qualität von dem jeweils äußerst freundlichen und kompetenten Personal serviert. Es hat gut geschmeckt, doch die Auswahl ist – insbesondere mit Blick auf den Opener der Website (Erleben Sie höchsten Genuss vom Hielscher Hof & in der Bauernhofgastronomie Rusticus) – mehr als dürftig: Kein wirklich adäquates Gericht für Vegetarier oder gar Veganer, nichts Phantasievolles oder Gesundes mit Bezug zur Bauernhofgastronomie oder zur Käserei. Kein Vergleich zu unseren Erfahrungen, die wir hier vor vielen Jahren gemacht haben. Die Angestellten waren zwar freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber auch sehr unflexibel: Es war zuerst offenbar nicht möglich, ein Kindergericht für einen Erwachsenen zu bestellen, obwohl der bereit war, mehr zu zahlen. Trotz des ausgesprochen schönen Ambientes (drin wie draußen) und der leckeren Zubereitung fanden wir die genannten Kritikpunkte so schwerwiegend, dass zwei Punkte reichen.

Good local food from their own property or local farmers near by. Very nice to sit and friendly stuff. Sometimes especially on weekends it could be a little bit crowded and you have to wait a little bit for your meal. But it is always fresh and good.

We come here on a regular base. The Rusticus is next to a Farm shop/small garden center/ small shop with locally produced cheese, ice, Milk etc. With Kids always worth a stop. During the summer it is great to ist outside. The food is very good and the Beer and Wine selection always woth a second look. During the Weekends tehy serve nice homemade cakes and waffles, During the evening or Winter this restaurant is also with a stop for a nice Family or Business Dinner. I already had all Sorte of stop here and was never dissapointed. Sometimes when it is very busy the service is a bit slow. But if you're not in a rush well worth the wait.

Have been here couple times after we first time had a lunch here last year. The restaurant provides nice food, including very tasty special burger. The dessert is excellent, no matter the cakes or the waffle are all delicious. Atmosphere is nice with efficient and friendly staff! A nice restaurant to be recommended.

We visited this restaurant recently as a family. It is in a nice rural setting but not far from the town of Burscheid and even closer to a quaint & typical Bergisches village called Witzhelden. The restaurant has 3 dining areas inside. One area includes a large wood burning oven which is GREAT in winter (I know from previous experience). On our visit the weather was great and we sat in the apacious beer garden. There is a table service and the sevice, although they were relatively busy, was very prompt & very friendly. The menu includes sevral typical local dishes and all that we tried was excellent. There is an emphasis on hearty meat dishes. But also vegetarian options. The Gulasch we tried was fantastic. I am a beer fan and in addition to the typical Kölsch & Pils options, I was pleased to find a dark Landbier on the drinks menu which was exceptional. The garden has a well landscaped childrens play area. Ample off road car-parking and adjacent to the restaurant is a farm shop with a big choice of local produce. The staff are also English speaking. Prices are, in my opinion, good for the area.

Provides all the advantages of a great location with a caring team and good food. Germany at is best with a rich menu of local food with seasonal specialties. Good also with kids and dogs. Food is rich and I'll not leave you with an empty stomach. Warm and pleasant atmosphere also inside.
