Wir waren jetzt schon zweimal mit der Gruppe hier essen. Sind immer alle sehr zufrieden.

Rustikales Lokal mit tollem Essen und tollem Außenbereich. Preis/Leistung ist echt o.k.

Alles ist natürlich immer subjektiv, aber für uns hat es gepasst. "Schwierig", gut zu bewerten, da man dann immer schwerer einen Tisch bekommt...aber, was muss, dass muss. Gern wieder. Schön, dass es noch solche Lokalitäten gibt, wo auch noch das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt. Danke.

Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Gutes Essen und sehr guter Service. Nach einer Wanderung einkehren macht Sinn, bestens. Bei schönem Wetter im Biergarten. 1A

Bin das 2.mal hier mit Frau, Kind und Hund. Bei schönem Wetter ist es im Biergarten perfekt, wer es auf dem Land und die Natur mag, der wird es hier genießen. Service ist zügig und freundlich, essen ist super. Ist natürlich alles immer nach eigenem Ermessen und Geschmack, aber qir sind zufrieden uns gerne hier. Der Preis ist für die Qualität auch in Ordnung, manches ist auch eigener Haltung/Produktion. Können wir nur empfehlen, und danke an das Rusticus Team, macht weiter so

Sehr gutes Restaurant, mit sehr gutem Hofladen

Ich war heute dort. Zum wiederholten Male. Ich bin jedesmal begeistert, was die Küche dort drauf hat. Kleine Details lassen erkennen, dass man es dort mit Profis zu tun hat. Aktuell kann ich Spargelgerichte empfehlen. Ich hatte heute ein Kalbsschnitzel dazu. Ich kenne aber auch den rheinischen Sauerbraten, vegetarische Gerichte und anderes. Immer sehr lecker und wunderschön angerichtet.

Hier findet man ein rustikales Bauernhaus vor in dem man geschmacklich gute Speisen bekommt. Wir waren mit den Speisen sehr zufrieden.Der Service machte einen guten Job,die Freundlichkeit ließ ein bisschen zu Wünschen übrig, vielleicht war den ganzen Tag über sehr viel zu tun. Wir empfehlen das Rusticus gerne weiter und werden bestimmt noch mal dort hingehen.

Leider keine gute Preis-Leistung. 38€ für Spargel mit Kartoffeln und gebeizten Lachs ist einfach zu viel wenn es geschmacklich nicht überzeugt! Die Spargelsuppe war versalzen und der Rotkohl war nicht frisch. Schade, aber für ein Essen werden wir nicht wieder kommen, für ein Getränk aber sicher, da tolle Ambiente.

GutesEssen bei Sonnenuntergang während die Kinder auf dem Spielplatz spielen. Traumhaft

Hatten uns sehr auf Spargel gefreut und daher hatte ich einen prall gefüllten Geldbeutel dabei. Nach der Ankunft haben wir uns draußen in die Sonne gesetzt. Ambiente wirklich schön, der Name Rusticus ist Programm und das gefällt wirklich! Nun zum nicht so schönen Teil. Es hat einiges Zeit gedauert, bis das Servicepersonal kam und uns mit Speisekarten versorgt und die Getränke aufgenommen hat. Kunden, die teils deutlich nach uns kamen hatten derweil schon ihr Essen am Tisch. Nachdem die Getränke kamen war die junge Dame und ihr Kollege leider nicht mehr auffindbar. Nach einiger Zeit kam ein weiter Mitarbeiter heraus, welchen ich dann Ansprache, dass wir gerne zahlen würden. Dieser hatte sich auch sofort bemüht und jemand weiteres kam heraus, sodass ich die Getränke zahlen konnte. Habe dann die Situation erklärt, was er auch verstanden hat und sich auch für das Vorgehen entschuldigt hatte (er kam zum zahlen raus, das Servicepersonal hat ja feste Bereiche, also alles gut). Sind dann nach guten 40 Minuten in eine andere Lokalität gewechselt. Dennoch muss ich mich der Rezension von Remi Prinner anschließen. Es steht und fällt alles mit dem Service. Der jungen Dame rate ich einen anderen Berufszweig einzuschlagen. Da ich das Essen leider nicht bewerten, daher nur ein Stern. Ob wir nochmal den Weg aus Remscheid auf uns nehmen, ich glaube nicht daran.

Aufmerksames Personal, angenehme Atmosphäre draußen hinter dem Haus in einem kleinen, blühenden, grün umsaumten Biergarten mit Bäumchen, Sonnenschirmen, kleinem Spielplatz & Decken über der Rückenlehne mehrerer Stühle für Personen, die schnell frieren. Hunde sind ebenfalls Willkommen und haben in Näpfen Wasser zur Verfügung! Dezente Musik im Hintergrund, nicht zu aufdringlich , so das Gespräche gut möglich sind. Das Essen , in diesem Fall Schnitzel mit Champignon- Rahmsoße und Bratkartoffeln ohne Speck aber mit Frühlingszwiebeln , war schmackhaft, das Fleisch war gut, kein Formfleisch, und schön dünn geklopft,paniert & knusprig gebraten. Auch eine saisonale Extrakarte gibt es, aktuell mit Spargelgerichten. Alles in allem absolut empfehlenswert, gerne wieder!

Wir waren zum Mittagessen im Biergarten zu Gast. Das Ambiente gefällt. Der Service war flott und freundlich. Das Essen, rustikale bodenständige Küche, war gut bis sehr gut. Es ist kein Sternerestaurant, aber sowohl der Burger wie auch Schnitzel waren gut zubereitet und lecker. Die Pommes waren sogar ausgezeichnet, schön cross und nicht übergart. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung!

Wir waren schon oft beim Rusticus essen - sowohl im Winter im gemütlichen Restaurant drinnen, als auch im Sommer im tollen Biergarten. Wir sind immer sehr zufrieden! Vor allem die Burger sind richtig gut. Mich überzeugen besonders die regionalen, teils hofeigenen Lebensmittel und die wirklich fairen Preise. Besonders hervorzuheben ist aber, dass dies ein Ort ist, an dem man auch als Familie mit kleinen Kindern wunderbar essen gehen kann (vor allem draußen). Die Kids spielen auf dem schönen, naturnahen Spielplatz und die Erwachsenen genießen. ;)

Ich habe das "Rusticus" vor zwei Jahren das erste Mal besucht und war von Anfang an begeistert. Im Sommer bietet der hübsche Biergarten tolle Möglichkeiten, draußen das gute Wetter zu genießen. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Das Essen hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Seitdem war ich noch einige weitere Male dort, zu Zweit oder Dritt, mit kleinen und auch mal einer größeren Gruppe. Jeder Besuch war insgesamt 5 Sterne wert. Bei meinem letzten Besuch habe ich das Rusticus für ein Essen nach eine Teamevent reserviert. Meine Kollegen waren begeistert und der Besuch war ein schöner Abschluss für unseren Teamtag. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Entgegenkommen des Service-Personals. Wir wollte etwas früher als zur reservierten Zeit kommen, es war überhaupt kein Problem. Wir haben schön in der 1. Etage gesessen und hatten dort einen kleinen Raum für uns. Der Service war auch an diesem tag wieder schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen kam zügig und hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich freue mich aber auch schon wieder auf die Biergartenzeit! Ich muss mal wieder einen Besuch bei euch planen :D

Sehr nette Ambiente, sehr netter Service und sehr gemütliches Flair mit viel Holz. Am Besten etwas früher hier hinfahren, denn es gibt hier auch einen Hofladen mit tollem Obst und Gemüse und auch noch kleine Mitbringsel zu verschenken wie zum Beispiel kleine Flaschen Liköre, Marmelade usw. Kann nur wärmstens empfehlen...

Die Waffeln sind unglaublich lecker.

Wir haben hier zum Mittag auf der Durchreise gegessen. Das Restaurant ist gut besucht und eine Reservierung auch kurz vorher ist besser um auch einen Platz zu bekommen. Die Portionen sind wirklich groß und ausreichend Auch die Kinderportionen sind sehr groß. Hier gibt es Fleisch von den eigenen Rindern.

Gemütliche Atmosphäre,sowohl in den Innenräumen als auch draußen im Garten. Vielfältige Gerichte und Getränke,echt lecker. Für Kinder und Tierliebhaber*Innen sind nebenan auf der Wiese in wärmeren Jahreszeiten Lamas und Hühner zu bewundern. Anbei im gemütlichen Lädchen werden allerlei Brot-Gebäcke und sonstige Leckereien an Milchprodukten und Wurst angeboten. Gegenüber auf dem Gelände ist eine Gärtnerei,dort gibt's frisches Gemüse,Blumensorten und Obst. Insgesamt ein wunderschönes Erholungsort.

Seit gut 10 Jahren gehen wir mit unserer Familie regelmäßig dort essen. Besonders die Herbst/Winter-Karte mit den Wildgerichten ist sehr zu empfehlen! Ganz tolle Lokalität mit Hofladen und eigenen Rindern. Im Sommer kann man toll im Biergarten sitzen. Die „Service-Chefin“ ist sehr freundlich und herzlich. Wir bleiben dem Rusticus definitiv treu.🫶🏻

We went there for dinner again after a long time, and it was simply a fantastic evening! We enjoyed a very good meal in a cozy atmosphere with attentive service... perhaps he could have checked on us a bit more (nitpicking, really)!! The chefs seem to manage to cook very well without Maggi and Knorr; it was simply delicious 😋 We will definitely come back!

A fantastic restaurant experience with one small but significant flaw. The service is outstanding – the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic: regionally sourced and prepared with great care. Absolutely top-notch in terms of taste and quality. One point of criticism: The restrooms are in dire need of renovation or more intensive maintenance. They don't live up to the high standard of the rest of the establishment. Conclusion: Highly recommended for the food and service! Please take care of the restrooms!

We visited again after a long time, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. The food lacked flavor and wasn't properly heated throughout. The staff, as always, were very friendly and tried their best, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough to make up for it. This was our second disappointment out of three visits. A real shame.

The restaurant itself is very, very cozy. The staff isn't particularly friendly, let alone child-friendly; however, they do take orders. Unfortunately, that's all one could expect from them. The food itself was very, very tasty, and both high-quality and plentiful. The cake, however, was a pre-made cake and unfortunately of extremely poor quality, so we couldn't even eat it.

We had a lovely evening with friends. The service staff was very friendly and efficient, and the food arrived very quickly. The food was tasty, although the braised ox cheeks were a bit gristly. The ambiance is pleasant but has more potential. The restrooms (men's and women's) are in dire need of repair, renovation, and a thorough cleaning. A real shame! Therefore, only 3 stars overall.

Beautiful beer garden in perfect weather

Unfriendly, discriminatory, and not accessible We recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. A companion in our group requires a certain degree of accessibility due to a disability – specifically, they can only climb stairs with the help of a handrail. However, the restaurant only has a handrail on one side of the stairs, making it impossible to reach the upper level. Instead of acknowledging the structural defects or the lack of accessibility, we were told that such things had to be mentioned when making our reservation. This is completely unacceptable – especially since it was never made clear that the restaurant is even spread over two floors. There was no understanding or offer of assistance – on the contrary: the reaction was unfriendly, dismissive, and unfortunately, highly discriminatory. People with disabilities should not be made to feel unwanted or annoying in a restaurant. This experience was disappointing and embarrassing. We definitely won't be coming back – and we can't recommend this visit to anyone who values ​​inclusion and respectful interaction.

"Purezza" table water is sold here. It's "processed" tap water, similar to SodaStream. A cubic meter (1000 liters) of drinking water costs us about €5-6 (base price, labor charge, sewerage charges, sales tax). A 0.75-liter bottle of Purezza costs almost €6 in the restaurant. We've often had good meals here. The highlights are during roast duck and goose season.

Everything is just right here! Okay, we're not in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The restaurant doesn't claim to be one either! But the food and drinks served are good! The prices are absolutely commendable for the value! However, the service is... first-class!!! Top-notch organization, you're greeted in a friendly manner, asked if you have any requests, asked if everything is okay, and come to your table uninvited to ask if you'd like to order anything else – completely unobtrusive! This should really be the norm. The fact that this is specifically mentioned here is a testament to the fact that, unfortunately, it's not the norm these days in our beautiful country. And we say this, as we haven't visited the Rusticus in at least 8-9 years. Back then, it simply wasn't as good as previously described. But now, we're thrilled. The atmosphere is also extremely relaxing, both inside and out! Everyone comes here – families with children and older people too. Everyone feels at home here, and you can tell!

If you don't choose a dish with schnitzel, then yes.

We had another lovely evening at Rusticus. We loved the ambiance and the service. The prices are perfectly reasonable. There's a regularly changing weekly menu and also good, home-style dishes – there are plenty of options for vegetarians. Parking is readily available, and the obligatory visit to the farm shop was a must. We'd love to come back!

We were greeted very rudely. Five of us on a sporty bike ride wanted to take a break there for a drink. A member of staff very rudely pointed us to the pathetic bike rack in front of the pub. Before, it had never been a problem to park our high-quality and therefore very valuable bikes in the back. On a sporty ride, you don't have any locks with you and the bikes are not parked out of sight. Apparently the employee didn't want to understand. This will be the last visit to this pub/beer garden for me and my sports friends. As I said, it was never a problem in the past and we used to come here frequently. What a shame.

We had a very good meal there. The aioli with the fresh bread is divine, but the main course is always very plentiful and simply delicious. We also love the atmosphere in the beer garden in summer. Everything is very relaxed and the service is very attentive. It was recommended to us, and we will continue to recommend it.

A beautifully situated, nature-oriented place to stop after hikes, etc., or with children. Unfortunately, the children's portions are so small that they're only enough for a four-year-old at most. The quality of the dishes also varies widely, from a delicious lentil curry to a somewhat drab salad that causes stomach upsets. The value for money is also not entirely convincing in some cases.

Well, we ate here twice. The first time was solid and good, but the second time, at a party, was a disaster. A juicy burger was burnt only in the middle, and the piece, about 5 DM in size, was edible. After complaining to the waiter, he brought it to the kitchen. The chef said he wouldn't accept the complaint. But he didn't dare go to the table to speak to his colleague. By the way, I had schnitzel, which was dry and with tendons, not enjoyable. The sauce was okay, just standard. The fries come straight from the bag into the fryer, so you can't go wrong. So, for us, this was our last visit. Hospitality is a different story for us.

A family-run hotel in a beautiful, rural setting. There's a small farm shop right next door (where you can buy cheese and various products directly from the farmer). The breakfast buffet was okay. A la carte offers a nice selection, including seasonal dishes. In the afternoon, there's a great selection of cakes and waffles 👍🏻 The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! A definite recommendation for a pleasant evening with friends in a rustic atmosphere.

Delicious schnitzel and homemade fries at a reasonable price. There are also a few games for the kids. We'll definitely be back.

The food and atmosphere are good. The beer garden is nice and large. However, the water is sparkling (Purezza). I think €5.90 for 0.75L is way too much for regular tap water. Especially since Purezza itself advertises savings on its website.

Even though I gave this place 5 stars because we had a delicious meal here on June 20, 2025, and the service was excellent, I'd like to point out that things were different for us on the previous day of the holiday. When we asked if there was anything else available besides the corn-fried chicken, the response was: Chicken with what? They could have explained it briefly by referring to the menu, or was it too warm or too hectic? When I see a double waffle with plenty of strawberries in the photos from three years ago, and I only get a waffle with a hint of an ice cream scoop and counted cherries (sadly, I didn't take a photo) for €6, I wonder if they're cutting corners. Well, the visit on June 21, 2025, made up for everything. Delicious food, attentive staff at all times, and a lovely atmosphere.

You shouldn't be quite so picky about the food. But the beer garden is a blast.

Our impression was limited: Apparently, there was a change in service or even the kitchen. The previous rating was one or two stars higher. The asparagus quich was a bit light on asparagus, but the egg mixture was plentiful. We expected something different from a quiche. Unfortunately, the taste was unsatisfactory, more like adequate. The ox cheeks seemed a bit oily, with a very high fat content. The accompanying loaf-shaped bread dumplings seemed a bit strange in appearance, but the taste didn't improve the impression. The potato pancakes with salmon are very tasty, with a large salmon portion, and the potato pancakes are a bit under-presented. Reorders of the potato pancakes are possible, but the price is too high. Due to the somewhat low temperatures, we sat inside. Reservations are recommended.

So if you like cilantro (lots and lots of cilantro), the "Hawaiian Poke Bowl" might taste good, but all in all, it was very disappointing for us. When we asked about it (the bowl was inedible), we were dismissed with the words "that's a matter of taste." We would have expected a bit more understanding and/or consideration (a new dressing, perhaps, or an alternative, etc.). Well, the schnitzel also seemed to have been fried several times, and the sauce was from a bucket (?). We followed the previous good recommendations, but according to the waitress, it seemed to be our fault—not bad either.

Absolute favorite restaurant, just makes you feel good!

Seit ca. 20 Jahren besuchen wir jeden Freitag das Restaurant Rusticus. Unsere Beurteilung auf Grund der Erfahrung in der Vergangenheit, war gut und empfehlenswert. In den letzten Wochen haben wir im Biergarten vergeblich auf eine Bedienung geartet und sind schon wie in den Vorwochen ohne Verzehr gegangen. In der Zukunft werden wir uns ein anderes Lokal besuchen und Bekannten und Freunden, von einem Besuch abraten. Wolfgang Neeff

I'm actually very disappointed. Burger is great but Aiol with 🍋 doesn't work at all and pasta with shrimp was a disaster, even with lemon 🍋. It's a shame And you had to wait for drinks so there was only one drink the whole evening

Cozy atmosphere, good service and the food was excellent. No matter whether the ox cheeks with red cabbage and pretzel dumplings. The goose breast or the veal schnitzel. And the country beer is really tasty. You definitely have to make a reservation in advance. The farm restaurant was well attended. There is also a farm shop next door and a cheese dairy. We'll take a look at that next time during the day.

Everything was very tasty and great. It was my first time there, but I will eat there more often now.

Went there for brunch at a party. The staff seemed to be short staffed, so the service was slow and inattentive. I found the breakfast delicious with a good selection. The food on offer at brunch was far too much, and you felt rushed as there was always a lot of remodeling and food being taken away/new ones being brought in. The latte macchiato we ordered for breakfast arrived after 15 minutes and was already only lukewarm. Unfortunately not the first experience we have had here with the poor service.
