I was there for lunch, the price was absolutely fair, the food was delicious. The service was friendly but intrusive. She did her rounds every 2-3 minutes, which was very annoying. Otherwise there was only one other person in the room, which is why it was very noticeable and it gave the impression that she was watching us. I would come back with the hope that the waitress doesn't fuss all the time.

Good quality Indian restaurant. The food is good. However, this lacks complexity and depth. The flavors are not present enough and the supposedly spicy dishes are bland. The restaurant itself is decorated in the theme but lacks soul. The service is pleasant Fair price for the quantity.

finally some real Indian food, great service and incredible dishes. The Butter Chicken and Biryani are highly recommended

Ordered Paneer Pakora, was thin with no filling. The covering with no flavour and the chutney wasn't tamarind rather sweet sour sauce which you can buy at any store. Highly disappointed.

We have enjoyed coming to this restaurant for many years. The quality and the taste and aroma are consistently strong. It always tastes very, very tasty and everyone who works there is extremely nice and polite. always happy again.

Were there for the lunch buffet. There were always small quantities in the warming containers, as soon as they were empty the corresponding dish was refilled very quickly so that it was always fresh and hot. The food was very tasty, although sometimes a bit spicy and salty. The waitresses were very attentive and accommodating.

It was really a wonderful experience for us. We have visited many Indian Restaurants in Europe and we found very few like this one where you can get the authentic taste of all the items. Their service was also really good and the place is quite close to city center which makes it quite convenient.

The quality of the food has decreased so much. The pictures on the website look nothing like the food. I would no longer eat at Royal Panja, the place urgently needs a new kitchen.

Experienced a shock as a vegetarian. The "vegetarian" food at the lunch buffet had CHICKEN pieces and was labeled as vegetarian. This also shows how the quality control is here. Despite apologies, I will never order or eat here again. It's just disgusting when you, as a vegetarian, discover meat in your food. I don't think the dish was completely recooked, but rather the pieces of meat were simply removed from the dish.

Atmosphere and service is good but food is very average and not worth the money

We had a wonderful meal at this Indian restaurant! The lentil soup was delicious and the mixed starter plate offered a great variety of flavors. The lamb curry and chicken curry were both excellent, nicely seasoned and served in large portions. A real highlight of Indian cuisine, we will definitely be back!

I had dal makhni, karahi paneer and naan. The dal makhni was super good, I would highly recommend it, paneer was fine it didn’t taste much like karahi paneer, and the naan was good too. The ambiance is pretty and gives a feel of India, which is comforting.

Had reserved for buffet. Food tasted good, but not enough selection for buffet. Unfortunately. Addendum: Not everyone likes everything

This is one of the worst restaurants in Europe. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment under any circumstances; it isn't worth even 1 Euro. We waited 1.5 hours for our order, despite repeatedly asking about it. The food was terrible, and the staff treated Indian customers differently from Germans. The cook seemed inexperienced, and the Veg Jalfrezi we ordered contained potatoes—something I’ve never seen in my five years in Europe. When we mentioned this, they simply said they add potatoes. Additionally, they do not accept credit card payments. Our experience was dreadful, so please save your money and time by choosing another restaurant. Government should add clause to suspend this Restaurant Licance

Taste of food is purely like Indian traditional dish. Dishes are quite delicious. You will feel like visiting regularly. This is one such place which is a must to visit in Frieburg. Ambience will feel you like those of king places. Service is particularly remarkable. Every individual staff treat you as if you are a special customer. We found the food really tasty. The atmosphere was also very nice and the waiters were very, very nice. Definitely coming back!

We were a famished group of 8 on a holiday in the Triberg area of Germany and were craving for Indian food after 5 days of local cuisine. Parking was around the corner (50 meters away) and the location was in a bustling neighborhood of cafes and restaurants. It is a university town and the restaurant is quite popular with students. There was a good variety of vegetarian options in the sides as well as main dishes. We were there in a Saturday when it may be a bit fuller than usual and therefore the food took a while to get to our table. But the taste and flavours were excellent. Great value for money, and had we been staying close by we would returned for several more meals here.

The food was really very good and the service was great too.

Meat was dry, rice had a strange aftertaste and the sauce was meaningless. To charge €16 for this is a disgrace. After 3 hours of nausea, I finally threw up everything. Whoever works in the kitchen should think about a career change otherwise they will get the bill for their garbage.

Update 2024: The lunch buffet was okay in terms of price and taste, even if the selection has become smaller. Service was also a bit more attentive Update 2022: Unfortunately it has gotten significantly worse. We went in the evening and didn't have a good experience. Service is like before, i.e. rather slow. The quality of the food has now dropped significantly; some dishes were unrecognizable to us. Starters were obviously from the lunch buffet, cold and old. But at the same time it became very expensive - the three of us spent well over 100 euros and had no alcohol! The all you can eat lunch buffet is almost always delicious and offers a good selection. Also suitable for vegetarians. In the evening it is also very tasty, but significantly more expensive and the service is sometimes a bit slow.

Hmm. Unfortunately not a good experience. The place itself looked very nice and inviting. Unfortunately, the service was unfriendly: at first we were told we could sit wherever we wanted. When we were seated, they wanted to move us, but we refused. Overall, the service seemed annoyed, unfriendly, and disinterested. It took a surprisingly long time for the card to arrive and also for us to finally place our order. We waited quite a while until the starter arrived (even though the restaurant was hardly busy). The starter (Chicken Pakora) was very bland and not crispy, the dips were boring. The butter chicken also tasted barely seasoned, the meat was ok, the rice was poor quality and lukewarm. The seasoning of the lamb in almond cream sauce was very good, but the meat itself was terribly tough, I have no idea what kind of lamb it was. Here too the rice was not tasty and lukewarm. The only really tasty thing was the Nan bread, but that's not what you normally eat out for. Nobody came to the table to pay, we had to go to the counter and say that we wanted to pay (even though we had asked the service several times for the bill). At 25 euros per person it's a far too expensive "pleasure", we definitely won't be coming back and can't recommend the restaurant.

Richtig gute indische Küche, reichhaltige Auswahl an Speisen und Getränke. Freundliche Mitarbeiter im Service. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Sowohl die Sauce als auch das Hähnchenfleisch meines Chili Chicken schmeckten nicht gut. Das Fleisch schmeckte irgendwie roh, aber es schien schon gar zu sein. Das Beste war die Schärfe, die ich auf indischem Level bestellt habe. Die Portion war normal bis groß, der Preis mit EUR 15.90 eher hoch. Das Restaurant ist schön, das Personal mittelfreundlich. Vielleicht komme ich nochmals, um einen Curry auszuprobieren.

Menü mit nur 6 Bestandteilen ohne Dessert. Beim Bezahlen mit Karte tippte die Bedienung 1,20 mehr in das Gerät ein als der Rechnungsbetrag sein musste. Meiner Bitte um einen Beleg wurde mürrisch nachgekommen. Ein "Sorry" wegen des Fehlers kam von der Bedienung nicht, der Chef meinte später, es seien ja nur 1,20 gewesen. So gewinnt man keine Gäste....und kein Trinkgeld.

War erst etwas skeptisch aber das Essen (Lamm) war wirklich gut. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit fantastischem Essen im Restaurant! Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam und schnell. Uns wurde ein ruhiger Tisch angeboten, da wir mit Hund da waren -top! Das Essen war fantastisch! (Mangochicken, Lamm Korma) Wenn wir in der Gegend wohnen würden, wäre das schnell unser neues Stammlokal 👍

Top Adresse für indische Küche! Die Speisen sind äußerst total yummy, ziemlich fix da, das Service zuvorkommend. Habe selten so guten Tandoori-Mix gegessen, herrlich gewürzt und grade richtig scharf. Empfehlung!
