Let’s start with food- absolute delight and delicious. This place is a keeper. Staff very courteous and friendly. Attended to all our requests and made the experience amazing. We were surprised to find this gem. Highly recommended and even the owner is super nice. His presence was not overwhelming and the staff was comfortable working around him. Very nice place highly recommended for taste and ambience. Will be visiting this place often.

We visited Restaurant Jaipur and were absolutely delighted. The food was consistently delicious – we were particularly impressed by the appetizers with their delectable dips. The mango lassis were also outstanding and wonderfully refreshing. The main courses, especially the curries, were perfectly balanced in flavor and very authentic. In addition, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. A restaurant we would definitely recommend and would gladly visit again!

I try butter chicken at indian restaurants everywhere I go and this one was up there among my favorites. The naan bread is a must-try too. Was really nice meeting the owner, who was clearly passionate about their place and quality of food. Highly recommend.

The food was awesome. We had chicken and lamb the meat was soft and tender. Butter chicken is also one of the best.

Authentic indian meals. Despite not having reservation on a Saturday during lunch time, the owner (if not mistaken) tried his best to accommodate us. The staff as well were friendly and efficient. Fresh and tasty food. The masala chai is a must there as well as the kerala fish curry.

We had a wonderful experience at Jaipur. The food was amazing - not the usual run-of-the-mill Indian dishes, but thoughtfully prepared. We had a bunch of starters and main course for dinner and found every dish to be just as good as the other. Special mention: the kulfi — made in house — was honestly exceptional. Easily one of the best I’ve had. Personally for me, what also stood out was the atmosphere. The décor is beautiful and feels genuinely meaningful with pieces of Indian history and art. It makes the space feel warm, authentic, and special. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole evening even better. Overall, this was possibly one of the best Indian restaurant experiences I’ve had in Germany. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back.

Every dish tasted intentional, not rushed or generic, which is honestly rare. What I appreciated most was how well-balanced everything was. The spices were layered and nuanced rather than just “hot,” and even familiar dishes felt elevated. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the kitchen really understands Indian cuisine instead of just reproducing standard recipes. The service was warm, attentive, and calm. We never felt rushed, and the staff were happy to explain dishes or make recommendations. The whole experience felt relaxed and welcoming. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for high quality Indian food in Freiburg, we’ll be coming back!

Anyone wanting to experience the flavors of classic Indian cuisine without traveling to India will find what they're looking for right here in the heart of Freiburg: in the Dietlerpassage by the Bertoldsbrunnen fountain. A tempting selection of appetizers, main courses (with or without meat), drinks, and desserts awaits, as you can see in the photos. There were six of us here today, and we were all very satisfied.

A truly pleasant restaurant with friendly, discreet, and always attentive staff who never feel intrusive. The Indian cuisine impresses with its craftsmanship and clear differentiation: each dish has its own distinct sensory profile, and the spices are delicately and harmoniously blended. The ambiance is inviting; the seating is not too close together, allowing for a degree of privacy that we greatly appreciate. As vegetarians, we can only comment on the meatless dishes, but these were consistently excellent. The homemade paneer and the aromatic masala lassi were among our personal favorites. As a couple, we felt very comfortable here. A restaurant without any fuss, but with authenticity, meticulous attention to detail, and a palpable appreciation for its guests.

I highly recommend the garlic naan! The curry was also delicious; I was a big fan of the palak paneer. We'll definitely be back :)

From the moment we entered, everything screamed elegance. Mr Nikunj guided us through out the menu, we tired biriyani, Garlic naan & Chicken tikka masala everything was really good specially Naan.

We were there today with 6 people and got a table without a reservation. The food was very good and the staff was friendly.

i came in almost closing time,but the staffs are kind and offered to serve me and i even finished before the others...place is neat...i expected the foods to be spicy, that's why i opted to dine here.but i'm a little disappointed, because it's not spicy at all...the taste of tika masala is like buttered chicken but not spicy...taste is ok, tasty but not spicy as i have expected...

I would highly not recommend this Indian restaurant. The Bhel puri is just the Haldiram packet served for 5-6€. The Chai tea was just hot water mixed with powder and the glass wasn't washed properly. The mango lassi had strong food coloring. The place might look good from the outside but it appeared very unhygienic. Also, the cashier during the weekend was not friendly at all. If you want to ruin your Indian dining experience, please visit this place.

Very friendly staff. The owner came directly to greet us and felt very welcomed. Food was not spicy at all. The staff had already adviced us that they had made the food ideal and adjusted spiciness for locals and offered to tweak it for us. Gave complementary Naan and snacks at the end which was quite surprising!. Very nice and preaceful restaurant.

Worst food ever... edit after Owner comment. Yes, me and my friends felt bad after having dinner here. Because our hard money got wasted on this unauthentic and mis guided recipes. Our chicken and paneer curry tastes were same. As we indians know the taste difference between Tikka and paneer curries. I believe that's the pain point for you. I understand you can fool non natives but common have courtesy when you serves south east Asians. After all you are serving food in the name of Indian. No wonder we hardly saw any south east Asian people in restaurant except staff. I hope you work upon your food rather than chasing and lecturing person here. 🙏

This was easily one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in Europe—possibly the very best. The food was authentic and full of flavor, and Nikunj, along with the rest of the staff, was warm, friendly, and a pleasure to chat with. We truly enjoyed our time here.

Centrally located Indian restaurant with solid food. We had four dishes, ranging from mild to spicy. The typical Indian spices were a bit restrained, but that complemented the individual ingredients. The service was unfortunately a bit hesitant, but they offered a shot of schnapps at the end. The digestif, in particular, has unfortunately become a rarity, so this is a high praise. Summary: Go and enjoy!

The restaurant is located on the first floor of a small complex. It has a pleasant courtyard terrace. The service is unobtrusive, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I had chicken tikka masala with rice and naan bread and a mango lassi.

What a fantastic place.my husband and I were lucky enough to visit Jaipur tonight .we are a couple from England that were looking for somewhere to eat whilst visiting freiburg.the welcome we received was warm and we felt at home immediately.the food was Excellent.so much to choose from the staff were attentive very polite and extremely friendly.The service was fantastic and the surroundings were exceptional.we enjoyed our evening so much we are returning again tomorrow night.please don't miss this restaurant if you are in town .I promise you won't be disappointed.5 star is how we rate it.

We've heard a lot about it, but never tried it before. Today was the day: we ate for the first time at the "Jaipur" restaurant in Freiburg's Dietler Passage. It was excellent, and we were very satisfied! The dishes were very well-balanced and wonderfully seasoned, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout. We'd love to come back...

The waiter was very very rude. At the beginning, I told him that I want to cancel a specific item. He spoke to me in a bad way and told me that it’s not allowed to cancel the order, and that this was unacceptable for me, because I had the right to cancel what I want from the beginning. I did not like their dealing with the customers at all, and I will not visit this restaurant again.. also the restaurant was hot inside. The food was normal nothing special.

good north indian option! we enjoyed their masala and mango lassi, kadahi paneer and daal makhani. kadahi paneer and paneer butter masala (both good) had the same gravy, with different veggies, so wouldn’t recommend ordering them simultaneously. service was lacking - we came here twice and received gravies before the rotis, which resulted in gravies cooling down somewhat before we could start eating. looked like they were short on staff, could benefit from hiring more waitstaff. overall, good experience and food - we enjoyed eating here twice, and would come again!

We really enjoyed the food at this place and went twice during our 2 day stay at Freiberg. The masala lassi as well as Mango lassi were very refreshing. The karahi paneer and dal makhani were very good. The service was quite slow. Maybe shortage of help in summer

Great food. Got the Kadahi Paneer, Paneer tikka masala, and Dal Makhani which were all fantastic. Especially loved the Masala Lassi which was at the level of back home!

A restaurant that is not interested in the food and is not worth the price. This student asked for shrimp biryani and they brought the biryani mixed with meat. I do not recommend it.

The food at Jaipur was really good. The naan, in particular, was fluffy and fresh. The service was also friendly and attentive. If you're looking for authentic North Indian cuisine in Freiburg, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be back!

I tried their Vegetarian 'Thali' (Plate) yesterday (Friday) for lunch. Good that each dish tasted different and had their own authentic flavor. The Naan piece wasn’t good at all. Very rubbery. I was looking for sweet lassi but they either had salty Lassi or mango sweet lassi. The restaurant looked very busy and enjoys a great location in the old town.

Wonderful! Like a fairytale! After 30 years, I returned to the Jaipur in the heart of Freiburg. It was a poem! The service, the food, the ambiance. I'd be happy to come back anytime.

Small outdoor area, plenty of space inside. Very long wait for drinks, even though it was quiet. Food was flavorful, but portions were a bit small.

We were at Jaipur for the first time last night, and not for the food, but it was excellent. If possible, we would give it 10 stars. The service was very good, friendly, courteous, and helpful. The prices were not overpriced. We would be happy to come back.

The restaurant is in a good location and offers a pleasant ambiance – you generally feel at home here. We ordered two starters (for me) and a main course and asked for everything to be served at the same time. The waitress kindly confirmed this and even repeated it twice. Unfortunately, this request was not fulfilled: My hot starter came first, followed by the main course – and the second starter was served only afterward. This meant we had to eat separately, which was a real shame and spoiled the experience. The food tasted good, but the portions – both for the main course and the soup – were rather small. Considering the prices, I don't think that's appropriate. Overall, it wasn't a complete experience for me, and I personally wouldn't come again. What a shame.

Jaipur is the place in India known for hospitality but I did not see any hospitality here , the owner is rude ,, they are spoiling the name of Jaipur I ordered thali , Felt cheated but the naan given was only 1/4 th ,, which should have been mentioned in the menu
