Very friendly staff. The owner came directly to greet us and felt very welcomed. Food was not spicy at all. The staff had already adviced us that they had made the food ideal and adjusted spiciness for locals and offered to tweak it for us. Gave complementary Naan and snacks at the end which was quite surprising!. Very nice and preaceful restaurant.

Very fine Indian food and good service. The portions were also large enough to skip dessert. We didn't have to wait long and will definitely be back.

Worst food ever... edit after Owner comment. Yes, me and my friends felt bad after having dinner here. Because our hard money got wasted on this unauthentic and mis guided recipes. Our chicken and paneer curry tastes were same. As we indians know the taste difference between Tikka and paneer curries. I believe that's the pain point for you. I understand you can fool non natives but common have courtesy when you serves south east Asians. After all you are serving food in the name of Indian. No wonder we hardly saw any south east Asian people in restaurant except staff. I hope you work upon your food rather than chasing and lecturing person here. 🙏

The service was friendly, and the restaurant was nicely decorated. The food wasn't particularly tasty. Unfortunately, it got cold after a very short time, even though we didn't eat particularly slowly.

This was easily one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in Europe—possibly the very best. The food was authentic and full of flavor, and Nikunj, along with the rest of the staff, was warm, friendly, and a pleasure to chat with. We truly enjoyed our time here.

Centrally located Indian restaurant with solid food. We had four dishes, ranging from mild to spicy. The typical Indian spices were a bit restrained, but that complemented the individual ingredients. The service was unfortunately a bit hesitant, but they offered a shot of schnapps at the end. The digestif, in particular, has unfortunately become a rarity, so this is a high praise. Summary: Go and enjoy!

Friendly staff who accommodated us without a reservation and offered a complementary drink at the end of our meal. Food is delicious, we ordered vegetarian food so cannot comment on non-vegetarian dishes. Overall, in the center of Freiburg, so conveniently located and easy to find with a lot of items in the menu.

The restaurant is located on the first floor of a small complex. It has a pleasant courtyard terrace. The service is unobtrusive, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I had chicken tikka masala with rice and naan bread and a mango lassi.

What a fantastic place.my husband and I were lucky enough to visit Jaipur tonight .we are a couple from England that were looking for somewhere to eat whilst visiting freiburg.the welcome we received was warm and we felt at home immediately.the food was Excellent.so much to choose from the staff were attentive very polite and extremely friendly.The service was fantastic and the surroundings were exceptional.we enjoyed our evening so much we are returning again tomorrow night.please don't miss this restaurant if you are in town .I promise you won't be disappointed.5 star is how we rate it.

We've heard a lot about it, but never tried it before. Today was the day: we ate for the first time at the "Jaipur" restaurant in Freiburg's Dietler Passage. It was excellent, and we were very satisfied! The dishes were very well-balanced and wonderfully seasoned, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout. We'd love to come back...

The waiter was very very rude. At the beginning, I told him that I want to cancel a specific item. He spoke to me in a bad way and told me that it’s not allowed to cancel the order, and that this was unacceptable for me, because I had the right to cancel what I want from the beginning. I did not like their dealing with the customers at all, and I will not visit this restaurant again.. also the restaurant was hot inside. The food was normal nothing special.

We really enjoyed the food at this place and went twice during our 2 day stay at Freiberg. The masala lassi as well as Mango lassi were very refreshing. The karahi paneer and dal makhani were very good. The service was quite slow. Maybe shortage of help in summer

good north indian option! we enjoyed their masala and mango lassi, kadahi paneer and daal makhani. kadahi paneer and paneer butter masala (both good) had the same gravy, with different veggies, so wouldn’t recommend ordering them simultaneously. service was lacking - we came here twice and received gravies before the rotis, which resulted in gravies cooling down somewhat before we could start eating. looked like they were short on staff, could benefit from hiring more waitstaff. overall, good experience and food - we enjoyed eating here twice, and would come again!

Great food. Got the Kadahi Paneer, Paneer tikka masala, and Dal Makhani which were all fantastic. Especially loved the Masala Lassi which was at the level of back home!

A restaurant that is not interested in the food and is not worth the price. This student asked for shrimp biryani and they brought the biryani mixed with meat. I do not recommend it.

The food at Jaipur was really good. The naan, in particular, was fluffy and fresh. The service was also friendly and attentive. If you're looking for authentic North Indian cuisine in Freiburg, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be back!

I tried their Vegetarian 'Thali' (Plate) yesterday (Friday) for lunch. Good that each dish tasted different and had their own authentic flavor. The Naan piece wasn’t good at all. Very rubbery. I was looking for sweet lassi but they either had salty Lassi or mango sweet lassi. The restaurant looked very busy and enjoys a great location in the old town.

We had a really enjoyable dining experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful. What stood out even more was the staff. They were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. From the moment we walked in, we felt well taken care of. Wonderful! Like a fairytale! After 30 years, I returned to the Jaipur in the heart of Freiburg. It was a poem! The service, the food, the ambiance. I'd be happy to come back anytime.

Small outdoor area, plenty of space inside. Very long wait for drinks, even though it was quiet. Food was flavorful, but portions were a bit small.

We were at Jaipur for the first time last night, and not for the food, but it was excellent. If possible, we would give it 10 stars. The service was very good, friendly, courteous, and helpful. The prices were not overpriced. We would be happy to come back.

The restaurant is in a good location and offers a pleasant ambiance – you generally feel at home here. We ordered two starters (for me) and a main course and asked for everything to be served at the same time. The waitress kindly confirmed this and even repeated it twice. Unfortunately, this request was not fulfilled: My hot starter came first, followed by the main course – and the second starter was served only afterward. This meant we had to eat separately, which was a real shame and spoiled the experience. The food tasted good, but the portions – both for the main course and the soup – were rather small. Considering the prices, I don't think that's appropriate. Overall, it wasn't a complete experience for me, and I personally wouldn't come again. What a shame.

Jaipur is the place in India known for hospitality but I did not see any hospitality here , the owner is rude ,, they are spoiling the name of Jaipur I ordered thali , Felt cheated but the naan given was only 1/4 th ,, which should have been mentioned in the menu

I visited Jaipur Restaurant yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The Indian food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy authentic flavors and great hospitality.

Great Indian Restaurant in Freiburg. Went there with my Gf and we had a great meal. We chose the starters to share and it came with 4 very different sauces. Ordered 2 different paneers as main dish, which was very solid. Definetly not a mistake to go there, when one‘s craving indian food.

Wie sich im kulinarisch gut versorgten und niveauvollen Freiburg ein solch bestenfalls durchschnittliches Restaurant so lange halten kann ist schon verwunderlich. Trotz halb leeren Restaurant an einen Tisch im Laufweg zur Toilette platziert, auf Bitten umgesetzt - 15 Minuten später war er wieder besetzt bei nach wie vor halb gebuchten Restaurant. Vorspeisen: Papadam (am) normaler Standard, Dips nur zum Teil hausgemacht. Hauptspeise Lamm Tikka immerhin Chef Spezial, schwach gewürzt, komplett durchgegart und trocken, auf einem Salat der schon zu dem Papad serviert wurde (gruener Salat, ein Schnitz Paprika und Radischen) und einer Sauce, die auch zum zweiten Hauptgericht Chicken Karashi serviert wurde.... Nett, dass die Teller vorgewärmt sind, wenn allerdings die Speisen auf kalten Platten serviert werden (und kein Stövchen im ganzen Restaurant zu sehen war) macht das erkennbar wenig Sinn. Alles in allem: von der Vielfalt und Qualität der indischen Kueche war hier leider nicht viel zu genießen.

It was my first time eating Indian food and I couldn't imagine it being tastier. Really beautiful ambience, staff very very nice and food 10/10! We got mango lassi on the house as dessert, super nice. I can only recommend it! The restaurant and toilets are also very clean. (By the way, it's very easy to reach on foot)

en tant qu'habitué chaque fois que nous sommes de passage à Fribourg nous avons l'habitude de manger au Jaipur , cette fois ci le repas était moyen pas de chauffe plat pour les préparations la fin du repas la viande était froide pas de chauffage dans la salle, je ne pense pas y retourné dommage par rapport a la première foi ou nous avons mangé labas nous somme très déçus

During my course in Freiburg I found this little “hidden” Indian and ordered garlic naan and chicken tikka masala to take away. The meal was ready in 15 minutes and we got a mango lassie (very delicious) on the house. People are also happy to give tips. The food was really delicious and recommended. The portion would also be enough for two. The staff was very friendly, so I would definitely eat there again.

A nice restaurant with super tasty food. We were there with a group of 6 people and ate all different dishes, which were all very tasty. The service is great and the conditions are super friendly and cheerful. They bring a smile to every guest's face. I would go again and recommend it to everyone.

Kann mich nur einer vor rezession anschließen das man in eine Ecke von einem unhöflichen kellner gedrückt wird ,waren das 2. Mal im Jaipur beides Mal mit unseren 2 kleinen braven Hunden und obwohl alles leer war und nichts direkt reserviert war sollten wir in die letze enge Ecke gesetzt werden ,auf unseren Einwurf das wir letztes Mal an ein andermal Tisch saßen ( und von einer netten weiblichen Kellnerin bedient wurden ) wurde unS offen gesagt das das der einzige Tisch mit Hunden ist .ich habe nichts dagegen das es auch Restaurants ohne Hunde gibt ,aber wenn sie erlaubt sind dann nicht so .das war das letzte Mal.....

Good Indian in the center of Freiburg. Price/performance ratio is right, the food was good. Atmosphere is rather sober and clothes smell strongly after visiting as there is an open kitchen. Nice and prompt service.

We had a table for 1.5 hours (18:00-19:30), what’s normally more than enough for us. We made an order 10 min after we arrived (18:10), but food got served at 19:10! We hade a feeling that they simply forgot about our order, and after more than 50 min of waiting we asked waiter again. Waiters and chef started coming every 5 min after we finally got food and asking if everything good (which was annoying and inappropriate after hour of waiting). We had one evening in Freiburg, and didn’t plan to spend such a long time for dinner. The food was good, but the service was so bad that we will never return. Jaipur is worth visiting only if you’re ready to wait and endure just to finally have a meal. Response: Yes, that’s exactly the problem—you weren’t even busy, and we waited for 50 minutes. It’s your job to explain the reason for the delay. All I needed was to know how soon our order would arrive. That was the exact question asked to the waiter. The answer was that it would be brought right away. We waited another 10 minutes. In any case, I wish you success in correcting your mistakes in the coming year & a Merry Christmas.

Short Version: Go there not just for amazing authentic desi indian food but also for their generous service and warm hospitality My family couldn't find any spot anywhere during peak holiday season and we just happened to come across this hidden gem. And we were just amazed at everything. The staff and everyone literally went out of their way to make us feel welcome and every thing we ordered was just made to perfection. I'm very picky about Indian restaurants in Europe this one topped my list. We got Achari Gosht which was so tender it was melting in our mouth. And also Chicken Tikka which paired with their chutney was just amazing. Oh and don't forget their bread basket so you can try all their best naans. It's an easy to miss place because you can't see it from the street directly but be prepared for an amazing experience.

The Samosa was freshly made and the biryani was to die for ✨❤️🙌🏻
