As an Indian , I can say this is the best Indian restaurant in Freiburg , good food , value for money , great taste , the owner is friendly and nice . I have come here multiple times never been dissatisfied. I have tried other places but I can personally say this is the best.

The three of us had made a dinner reservation and were full of anticipation of good Indian food based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. We had three different vegetarian dishes, none of which met our expectations. The raita tasted strange, as did the drinks 🤔... We're all familiar with Indian cuisine, from traveling and eating at various restaurants across the country. Thus, we only gave it a 2** rating for taste. Two-thirds of the food went back uneaten. What a shame.

The food at Indian Curry House is honestly amazing – super flavorful and fresh. Everything tasted just like home-cooked Pakistani and Indian food. The place has a really cozy vibe too. The owner is such a genuine and friendly person – you can tell he really cares about both the food and the customers. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Waited at open door for 10 mins with family. Nobody to even ask if we wanted to eat or be seated. We were within sight of the reception where a busy and rather grumpy individual refused to even make eye contact at us standing…upon walking up to him and asking if we can eat he said he’s closed (although door and restaurant was open door with no signs) Overall appears to be slowly sliding downhill.

Really good food and big portions. I love going there with friends, it is recommended to reserve because they're usually busy over the weekends! I will go there again :)

We hand vegetarians and non-vegetarian thali , the food and overall experience was very good. The preparation and taste was more of a Pakistani kitchen.

We were there for lunch. There is a vegetarian and a meat thalis with great value for money. The dishes were wonderfully seasoned, slightly spicy, with delicious rice and wonderful naan bread. The service is super friendly and the waiting time is very short. It was a pleasure, and the homemade iced tea is also recommended. Everything just fits here. We'll be back.

I remembered the Indian thali as tasting more typical of the country. We had to wait a long time and the vegetable pot my companion tasted good, but very westernized.

Remember the typical North-Indian restaurants when you were on a road trip through a crowded highway back in India? Indian Curryhouse reproduces that nostalgia through a jhatka of flavors and amazing service. We stopped by for a lunch during our trip to Freiburg. The restaurant is a cozy street close to the city center. We arrived without reservation and it was easy to find a nice table. The starters - kebabs and tikkas are cooked perfectly with extreme care to the authentic style while keeping spices mild enough to be palateable. Staff was prompt and ready to go beyond the usual expectations.

I suggest to visit here because they serve delicious food and more quantity and also quality foods.

They accommodated us, and prepared special table outside under a tree, with birds chirping. Food was enjoyable. With generous portion Service from Salim and a only non Indian Latin waiter was excellent.

One of the best restaurants in Freiburg for Pakistani and Indian food! We recently had the pleasure of ordering food for our Eid ul-Fitr special event, catering for 100 people. The menu included: Chicken Biryani Kheer Raita and other complementary items The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone kept praising it. The Eid gathering was organized by PSA Freiburg (Pakistani Student Association Freiburg), and as the General Secretary of this organization, I highly recommend Indian Curry House to anyone looking for delicious Asian food!

Truly one of a kind place located right in the heart of freiburg. As soon as you step foot in Indian curry house, it’s almost like you’re transported to a warm and authentic place where you only experience the best and most flavourful Indian/pakistani cuisine. I totally recommend this place! I had the delight of trying their appetisers, biryani, lamb stew and chickpea curry aswell. All were well seasoned! Great job and kudos to their hardworking team!😊

We ordered food for 70 people for our event. The owner was nice enough that he gave us food for 100 people in the cost of 70 people. The large order was handled really well and was good in taste and warm when arrived. We ordered biryani, raita and kheer. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The owner is a very nice and accommodating person.

The Curry House is a great address for fine Indian cuisine. The dishes are authentically seasoned, very aromatic and taste simply fantastic. I was particularly impressed by the attentive and friendly staff who really care about the guests. However, I found the payment thing a bit strange - they always say that only cash payment is possible, but if you don't have cash with you, suddenly card payments are accepted. This could perhaps be handled a little more transparently. Nevertheless: The food is convincing, the service is top – I would be happy to come back at any time!

We have been there since the beginning and have always been satisfied.

We were there on Wednesdays with a reservation from 5:30 p.m. During the meal we were constantly interrupted, but not really politely to ask if we needed/wanted to order something else, but rather to put us under pressure. Then the employee wanted to clear away during the meal. When we had just finished eating and taking the last sip of the drinks, the same employee stood in front of us at 7:00 p.m. sharp and pointed out that we now like numbers because they want to give the seat to other guests who are waiting. There were still a few seats available and there was no queue. Even when we chatted in front of the restaurant in the rain for half an hour. In addition, they allegedly cannot share the invoice amount because of the cash register's old operating system. The naan was very fluffy and you can choose whether you would rather have rice or naan with the dish, I really like that!

Super cozy Indian restaurant in Frieberg. the food is close to authentic, the prices are competitive. Friendly and respectful staff, they also warn u on the spice level and customise based on your requirement. I was really satisfied with the food, service and price, infact there were more germans than Indians when I visited for dinner, the location is also close to the center with few parking places nearby, definitely a recommend.

Beautiful ambiance and the service was top notch. The food is delicious 🤤. Starch portion are very good but my meat had more potatoes than I expected having ordered beef😀. I will definitely be back because I love Indian cuisine 🥰 and the food is amazing.

I go there weekly. They have great taste and Great service. Always fully packed so make sure to make an appointment. If you want spicy just ask them to make it “Desi“. I highly recommend to visitors. It is a must have.

Went for dinner today. Ordered their Lamm thali. TRULY happy with everything - taste, portions, price, service, everything! Defintely recommend this. So far the best and most authentic north indian food I have had in Germany (comparing with Heidelberg/Mannheim/Kaiserslautern/Heilbronn). Only visiting Freiburg and as an Indian am very jealous that such a place isn't where I live.

We were there at lunchtime but still ordered a normal dish. However, the lunch menu is certainly the best choice in terms of price and performance for around €10. There is always a vegetarian and a normal dish. The food from the menu was very good! But the quantity was somewhat manageable. The service was attentive and quick. But the meal took a while. Although the food was spicy and the service asked if it could be spicy, it was only slightly spicy. The ambience is okay, although if you can't get a seat at the edge, you sit somewhat exposed in the middle of the room. Overall it was good and I would eat there again at any time.

We didn't have a reservation and yet the staff was very nice. The food is great and you'll be full. Even better is that everything is Halal. Naan bread tastes heavenly.

I was there for dinner and ordered kadhai paneer and chicken tikka. The food was delicious and the hospitality was great. Overall a nice evening, would recommend a visit!

It has the best butter chicken curry and mango lassi I've ever tried in countless of indian restaurants in Germany. The manggo lassi has the exact consistency and sweetness. In other places, sometimes it was too thick or too sweet, but this place got it right based on my taste buds. For the butter chicken curry I asked them to be middle spicy and it's just the right spiciness for me. It tasted creamy, sweet, spicy, just how I like it to be. The price is also affordable. We paid less than 50 euro for two people and the portion was big so we even took some home for breakfast. But the best thing from this place is actually the service. I was there at 20:30 without reservation and the manager (or owner) politely mentioned that he would check if he has a place for us and asked me to wait for 5 min while giving me first the menu. And when my husband accidentally touched a quite hot spoon, he approached us right away with a new spoon and took the hot spoon away. Other staffs are also responsive and polite. Big thumbs up for this place.

Very cozy, homely atmosphere in the seating area to the left behind the entrance door, shielded from the rest of the restaurant. But only until the successors appear. Then there is stress.

Bin ein Indien-Liebhaber und war schon in sehr vielen Restaurants. Das Curryhouse hat mich sehr begeistert. Das Thali war einfach superlecker, raffiniert gewürzt und im Mittagsangebot mit Suppe einfach unschlagbar. Absolute Empfehlung, ich komme gerne wieder!

Einmal habe ich das vegetarische Mittagsangebot in Anspruch genommen (Tahal) dazu salziges Lassi, perfekt, so gut, dass ich gleich für abends reservierte und das war auch notwendig. Das Restaurant war ausgebucht. Ich habe zuerst den Vorspeisenteller gewählt und anschließend Lamm Tandoori halbe Portion und Palak Paner halbe Portion. Wiederum war alles zur vollsten Zufriedenheit. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nächstes Mal in Freiburg, nächstes mal wieder hier.

In my opinion, the best Indian restaurant in South Baden! Small but nice, a lavish menu for all senses whether you like mild or very spicy. There is something for everyone. Large portions. Fresh herbs and authentic spices round it all off. No wonder you should definitely make a reservation, as evenings are full even in the middle of the week. So happy to find this restaurant. We tried veg thalis and loved the flavours. Staff is very friendly and the ambience is also really good. Prices are reasonable for the portion. Will definitely visit every time we come to black forest area.

The food was really very good and plentiful! The lunch menu is unbeatable in terms of price (approx. €11 including soup + dessert) and everything was super delicious! The meat is nice and tender. Only the salad was a bit weak, but that's easy to ignore :) We'd love to come back!

We stopped by to grab a quick dinner since we had to catch our train. We didn’t do any reservation but they were kind enough to accommodate us. Restaurant was quite full. We ordered medium spicy but it felt like high spicy. So maybe go for low spicy to get medium spicy. Service was quick. We paid by card. Definitely worth visiting.

By far the best Indian in town. Always recommended! Terrific! I was in India myself for 6 months and therefore have relatively high standards. I only go to the Indian Curry House in Freiburg! This is one of the worst restaurant I have come accross in Europe. The lady (Indian) at the reception was way too rude and doesn't know how to talk to people, very racist towards Indian customers. I have tried many restaurants in Europe but this was worst,will never recommend to anyone.

Great restaurant, The Indian Curry House in Stühlinger in Freiburg offers very traditional Indian food, which I was able to try out at lunch. The “chill curry” was very tasty and the portion was plentiful and filling. The mango lassi with it was refreshing and went well with the food. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly. Overall, a recommendable place for authentic Indian food, even if there is still room for small improvements. I'd love to come back!

After reading the very positive reviews again and again, I went there for the first time yesterday. In terms of price, the whole thing is in the mid to high segment, which is why I expected to get something special. What you get is fairly normal service, neither noticeably friendly nor unfriendly, and a well-balanced Indian meal. For me personally, it was just a good meal, but nothing that really blew me away. There are other restaurants in Freiburg that put even more love and finesse into their dishes. Conclusion: If you want to go out for Indian food and don't care about a few euros more or less, you can have a delicious meal here. But for me it's not so special that I would recommend it to friends and family.

A quiet place outside, very friendly service...and the food is amazing, we've never had such good Indian food. Homemade and very delicately seasoned. The homemade lemonades are very tasty. I think it's cool that, out of Ayurvedic belief, there is no alcohol on the menu and the mainstream is not served 👍👏. I would come here again and again. All the best!

The food was delicious and the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. Almost all vegetarian dishes are also available vegan. I had Aloo Bengen Masala and a lemonade with mint, ginger and lemon. I'd love to come back.

I enjoyed the food a lot. In two days, I had my two meals here, which means I am super happy with the taste. I ordered the veg Thali, palak paneer, tandoori roti and aloo parathan. All the items were great and will make you keep coming for more.

We chose the daily menu “with meat” twice… and it was delicious. Butter chicken, chicken curry, lentils, naan bread, wonderfully fluffy basmati, ... lovingly prepared and delicious! Plus a very friendly and fast service. Also completely okay in terms of price. Perfect! Definitely a recommendation!

The place is brilliant. If you are visiting Freiburg and are missing Indian food with the spice levels adjusted (if you mention) to Indian levels, this is your place. The taste is authentic, the staff is very kind and service is fast and yet not rushed. We had chicken Tikka and Kofte. Both dishes were aromatic and mouth watering. Naan was soft and fresh. Do go!

I studied in Freiburg and like to come from Lake Constance to visit the city every now and then, for example when SC is playing. The Curry House is one of my favorite stops. Pleasant atmosphere and excellent Indian food!

Highly recommended, the service is friendly and accommodating, and it's not expensive compared to other places We paid €56.10 for 2 main courses and 4 drinks We had a thali (with fish, shrimp and vegetables and all the trimmings, roti, rice, papadam, raita, dessert...), a curry with chicken and naan and 2x lassi Everything was very tasty, the Chailassi was a positive surprise, something different and we had no expectations in advance All the dishes were very seasoned and different, the thali was well put together, everything was perfect You get quite a large amount with the three side dishes We wanted to try Indian spicy, there was a misunderstanding in the kitchen and we "only" got the German spiciest level, but it was perfect, the waiter even apologized and asked whether it was spicy enough or should be seasoned

Full five stars for a great meal. Wonderfully seasoned with delicious rice and wonderful naan bread. The service is super friendly and the atmosphere is very nice with attention to detail. The homemade iced tea is very tasty. There is absolutely nothing to criticize here. We will be back.
