In my opinion, the best Indian restaurant in South Baden! Small but nice, a lavish menu for all senses whether you like mild or very spicy. There is something for everyone. Big portion. Fresh herbs and authentic spices round it all off. No wonder you should definitely make a reservation, as evenings are full even in the middle of the week. In my opinion the best Indian restaurant in Freiburg and the surrounding area. I can't say I've tested them all, but there have been quite a few. The selection of food is excellent and authentic.

I often go out for Indian food and compared to Germany, it really tastes the best here! The sauces are very aromatic, the food comes to the table warm and the service is friendly.

The food was really very good and plentiful! The lunch menu is unbeatable in terms of price (approx. €11 including soup + dessert) and everything was super delicious! The meat is nice and tender. Only the salad was a bit weak, but that's easy to ignore :) We'd love to come back!

Went for dinner today. Ordered their Lamm thali. TRULY happy with everything - taste, portions, price, service, everything! Defintely recommend this. So far the best and most authentic north indian food I have had in Germany so far (comparing with Heidelberg/Mannheim/Kaiserslautern/Heilbronn). Am visiting to Freiburg and as an Indian am very jealous that such a place is not where I live.

We stopped by to grab a quick dinner since we had to catch our train. We didn’t do any reservation but they were kind enough to accommodate us. Restaurant was quite full. We ordered medium spicy but it felt like high spicy. So maybe go for low spicy to get medium spicy. Service was quick. We paid by card. Definitely worth visiting.

By far the best Indian in town. Always recommended! Terrific! I was in India myself for 6 months and therefore have relatively high standards. I only go to the Indian Curry House in Freiburg! This is one of the worst restaurant I have come accross in Europe. The lady (Indian) at the reception was way too rude and doesn't know how to talk to people, very racist towards Indian customers. I have tried many restaurants in Europe but this was worst,will never recommend to anyone.

Great restaurant, The Indian Curry House in Stühlinger in Freiburg offers very traditional Indian food, which I was able to try out at lunch. The “chill curry” was very tasty and the portion was plentiful and filling. The mango lassi with it was refreshing and went well with the food. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly. Overall, a recommendable place for authentic Indian food, even if there is still room for small improvements. I'd love to come back!

After reading the very positive reviews again and again, I went there for the first time yesterday. In terms of price, the whole thing is in the mid to high segment, which is why I expected to get something special. What you get is fairly normal service, neither noticeably friendly nor unfriendly, and a well-balanced Indian meal. For me personally, it was just a good meal, but nothing that really blew me away. There are other restaurants in Freiburg that put even more love and finesse into their dishes. Conclusion: If you want to go out for Indian food and don't care about a few euros more or less, you can have a delicious meal here. But for me it's not so special that I would recommend it to friends and family.

A quiet place outside, very friendly service...and the food is amazing, we've never had such good Indian food. Homemade and very delicately seasoned. The homemade lemonades are very tasty. I think it's cool that, out of Ayurvedic belief, there is no alcohol on the menu and the mainstream is not served 👍👏. I would come here again and again. All the best!

The food was delicious and the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. Almost all vegetarian dishes are also available vegan. I had Aloo Bengen Masala and a lemonade with mint, ginger and lemon. I'd love to come back.

I enjoyed the food a lot. In two days, I had my two meals here, which means I am super happy with the taste. I ordered the veg Thali, palak paneer, tandoori roti and aloo parathan. All the items were great and will make you keep coming for more.

We chose the daily menu “with meat” twice… and it was delicious. Butter chicken, chicken curry, lentils, naan bread, wonderfully fluffy basmati, ... lovingly prepared and delicious! Plus a very friendly and fast service. Also completely okay in terms of price. Perfect! Definitely a recommendation!

The place is brilliant. If you are visiting Freiburg and are missing Indian food with the spice levels adjusted (if you mention) to Indian levels, this is your place. The taste is authentic, the staff is very kind and service is fast and yet not rushed. We had chicken Tikka and Kofte. Both dishes were aromatic and mouth watering. Naan was soft and fresh. Do go!

I studied in Freiburg and like to come from Lake Constance to visit the city every now and then, for example when SC is playing. The Curry House is one of my favorite stops. Pleasant atmosphere and excellent Indian food!

Highly recommended, the service is friendly and accommodating, and it's not expensive compared to other places We paid €56.10 for 2 main courses and 4 drinks We had a thali (with fish, shrimp and vegetables and all the trimmings, roti, rice, papadam, raita, dessert...), a curry with chicken and naan and 2x lassi Everything was very tasty, the Chailassi was a positive surprise, something different and we had no expectations in advance All the dishes were very seasoned and different, the thali was well put together, everything was perfect You get quite a large amount with the three side dishes We wanted to try Indian spicy, there was a misunderstanding in the kitchen and we "only" got the German spiciest level, but it was perfect, the waiter even apologized and asked whether it was spicy enough or should be seasoned

Full five stars for a great meal. Wonderfully seasoned with delicious rice and wonderful naan bread. The service is super friendly and the atmosphere is very nice with attention to detail. The homemade iced tea is very tasty. There is absolutely nothing to criticize here. We will be back.

Amazing food with a ton of options. Very flavorful, good spices and very hot if you ask for it (actually hot, not European hot). The service was attentive and they were nice enough to fit our group in, even without a reservation. I highly recommend that you reserve because the place was packed when we went, definitely book ahead if you want to sit outside as they have very limited seating.

I can't judge food, but unfortunately there's little humanity shown here. I politely asked the woman behind the counter if I could use the toilet, said it was urgent & she said twice "for guests only". I understand that this rule exists, but I don't understand how you can put such a rule above humanity. The opposite was the case at the snack bar next door, the employees were totally polite and tried hard :)

Very tasty food! The ambience is rather average, it's a bit cramped inside and you can't sit outside. But the food was just delicious! The vegetables were crisp and fresh. DS staff is very friendly no matter how busy it is. I will definitely come here again.

Almost as good as in India! The Butter Chicken and Chicken Bhuma are ultra delicious. The naan bread is world. The store is rightly busy. The service still has room for improvement in terms of speed.

Indian Curryhoyse is a small family-run Indian restaurant! The loving decoration contributes to the cozy atmosphere! All the dishes and drinks I tried were delicious! The employees are friendly and accommodating! I can only recommend a visit (with prior reservation)!

I wanted to go to the best Indian in Freiburg & I went to the best Indian in Freiburg! Really great taste experience (5 out of 5 stars). Unfortunately a bit loud and it's a shame that you can't sit outside, but otherwise it's great! I particularly like the selection of drinks (house soda, cocktails). Unfortunately no alcohol is offered, but that didn't particularly bother me. The prices are absolutely fair!

Kleines aber feines Restaurant mit sehr guter indischer Küche. Es gab sensationelle Samosa, garlic naan, raita sowie Paneer tikka und Lamm aus dem Tandoor. Auch der Mango Lassi sowie die hausgemachten Limos sind echt spitze. Kurze Wartezeiten trotz vollem Laden. Unbedingt reservieren besonders am Wochenende

Best Indian restaurant in Freiburg

The food is so delicious that I am giving my first review in this life. Great and inexpensive. The only disadvantage is that there was no pasta or anything like that for our son, who is not very flexible, but maybe that's something positive. The staff only partially speaks German, but in individual cases we were always able to communicate. There are a few tables where you don't sit on chairs but rather on cushions. We were allowed to choose and gladly took such a table.

Absolute 10 out of 10 points. Maybe even more! As soon as I walked in I knew it was going to be good: Indian staff, Indian music and Indian decor. The menu is really lovingly made. The food came super quickly and was fanatical. The service was also really nice and attentive. We actually can't find any criticisms and can highly recommend this restaurant

The restaurant is simply great! I've been there several times now and have been thrilled every time. There is a large selection for vegetarians and vegans, there are children's chairs that are also clean, there is a play area with toys and books and the waitresses are super friendly. Not to forget: the food is great! I will definitely come back and can only recommend everyone to come here! :) Addition 5 years and many visits later: If I could I would give 10 stars! Such nice staff and the food is still delicious!

The dining experience was delightful. I opted for the Chicken Makhani, served piping hot in a traditional pot, while we also savored the Vegetarian Korma Sabzi—a flavorful blend of paprika, onions, potatoes, and other veggies. Both portions were generously sized, complemented by well-cooked rice. The Mango Lassi was refreshingly not overly sweet. Despite the satisfying meal, the only downside was the waiting time, approximately 35 minutes during the busy Sunday hours. The ambiance with cozy lighting and comfortable seats added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The pricing, at around 40 euros for two main dishes and two Mango Lassis, was reasonable. I would recommend this place, especially if you find yourself near the Hauptbahnhof and in need of a satisfying meal before your journey.

This place is very vibrant as seen in lots of pictures. It is a small and cosy place. The staffs are very attentive to the guests. The order was taken very politely as we settled at our table. The aroma around the place was really good. It felt to be in a good Indian restaurant and it is one of the good ones I have been after very long time. We had Thali, very nice dishes our pallet was filled with good amount of masala and spices. There is nothing much to be critic in general but here is some minor personal choices i look for in following dishes * Butter chicken was good but the chicken inside was slightly dry for me. * Paneer curry again really good and I would like to be paneer to be slightly tossed and crisped. * the sweet was nicely presented but it could have some more flavour. Not sure what was missing. The position size of a thali is good in general but it could be not enough for some. Overall it’s good highly recommend. We saw thali on a weekday is much cheaper and it is a nice option. We would love to come again and try other dishes and highly recommend to others.

Zencefilli limonata muhteşem. Zencefil tarlasına düşmüş gibi hissettim. Yemekler cok ama cok lezzetli. Yemeğimi çalacaklarmıs gibi sanki :)) ışık hızıyla yedim.
