Restaurant josefs bar & bistro in Mittenwald

Good food, nice service, waiting time a bit long, but if the quality is good afterwards I'm happy to wait...

Josef's in Mittenwald is a true culinary highlight! As soon as you enter the restaurant you immediately feel welcome and the cozy atmosphere invites you to linger. The menu offers a wonderful selection of regional and international dishes - all freshly prepared and tasted at the highest level. The dishes are extraordinary and surprise with creative compositions and intense flavors that you don't find everywhere. Very attentive service: friendly, quick and always trying to fulfill all of the guests' wishes. The portions are well sized. We smell the dishes “Parma pork fillet” and “Josef’s smoky spareribs” - simply perfectly prepared and unusual. The wine selection is excellent and rounds off the culinary experience wonderfully. If you're in Mittenwald, you shouldn't miss a visit to Josef's - we'll definitely be back!

I haven't eaten as well as in this restaurant for a long time. Great atmosphere and very nice staff. We have been to Mittenwald several times and actually wanted to go somewhere else next year. Now we have booked our vacation there again and are really looking forward to dining there again :-)

We really enjoyed the stay and the food. It was a very nice evening.

We loved it here so much we made reservations and came back for a 2nd night. Menu had a great variety and the drink offerings were also excellent. Our waitress was amazing and we had such a good time interacting with her and some of the other patrons. My wife had 'the best soup of her life' with their nightly special tomato and coconut soup. I had the ribs (served with a dramatic smokey dome reveal) and also the rump steak both of which were excellent. Passion fruit aperol spritz was a game changer and both desserts we tried were also great. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

Phenomenal! I was thoroughly impressed by this last minute find. The interior inside is very romantic and inviting. The menu is diverse and interesting with some good vegetarian options. Our server was fantastic, incredibly kind and welcoming.

We came across Josef's Restaurant quite by chance. A great restaurant, with a nice ambience, nice balcony with a view of Mittenwald's city center. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The service was very friendly and authentic and the dishes on the menu were very inviting and promising. Both dishes were very tasty, beautifully presented and highly recommended. Unfortunately it was our last evening in Mittenwald, otherwise we would definitely have eaten there again. We can definitely recommend Josefs!!! Thank you for the lovely evening with you!

I can't think of anything to complain about! The food is amazing, the staff is super relaxed and very friendly, you immediately feel very comfortable and in good hands! The selection is quite small, but you can't order anything wrong, everything tastes incredibly good! You are first greeted with a greeting from the kitchen, which alone is always really tasty! Also a feast for the eyes, the food is beautifully presented. Absolute recommendation! If you're in Mittenwald, you actually have to try Josef's at least once! ;-)

We ate on the balcony. The dishes were really excellent. Friendly waitresses. We recommend.

After making a reservation by phone, we came here for dinner and were completely satisfied! The food was nicely prepared, the portions were appropriate and the taste was without exception great. The price-performance ratio is right, which is why I give it an absolute recommendation!

Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed because we had to wait a long time for our food, which was also quite expensive and creatively well-intentioned but not tasty. The service on our evening was also very stressful and not necessarily friendly.

The Restaurant-Bar Josefs has the very good rating quite rightly: Thai bowl and lentil curry deserve a straight A, plus friendly service, delicious rosé from Lake Garda and tasteful, modern furnishings with discreet front cooking. Definitely a full five stars from us!

Wow! We are absolutely thrilled! Quality and service are very important here. Our dog was also very welcome. Even the greeting from the kitchen was a dream. For the main course we had spare ribs and a burger. The spare ribs were cooked to perfection and tender like butter. The burger was also delicious. The ambience is super harmonious and invites you to linger. It's a shame that we come from further away, otherwise this would be our regular place! 12 out of 10 points 🌟

We are repeat offenders and were thrilled again: from the service to the doneness of the onion roast with a great sundowner on the balcony - always happy. Price/performance absolutely justified.

We have eaten here several times and are always thrilled with the high quality and attention to detail with which the food is prepared here. Regional products are the order of the day here and you can taste it too. It goes without saying that we have a well-filled wine list where we have always received good recommendations. The staff was always very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We continue to enjoy going here and look forward to new dishes.

On recommendation we had dinner at Josefs. It was a good decision. We reserved a table in advance and sat in a nice place with a view of Mittenwald. We were greeted very politely. The friendliness continued throughout the entire evening. The selection of food is good. There is something for every taste. After a great aperitif, we decided on the sauerbraten and the beetroot dumplings. Both a pleasure. A red wine was recommended to us competently and charmingly. This one was also great. It was a successful evening. We'll definitely be back!

The two of us had dinner there in the evening with great anticipation. Unfortunately, I can't understand the hype that others are making here. For us the food was average but nothing more. Overall, it's rather expensive and the quality is mediocre. I missed that certain something in all the dishes. For example, the wild garlic soup turned out to be a bland cream of spinach soup and the dessert didn't taste good at all (especially like what it was supposed to be). A pity. We expected much more.

A beautiful restaurant inside with a view of the city. Sophisticated dishes, finely prepared and very tasty. Excellent service, above average. Price performance good. Waren in Mittenwald und Umgebung im Urlaub. Hatten bei Euch ein wunderbaren Abend mit sehr leckeren Speisen und Getränken. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung! Kommen nächstes Jahr sicherlich wieder.

Wir sind regelmäßig hier und immer sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen (haben schon sehr viel probiert: ausgezeichnet gekocht, Einsatz sehr guter Produkte) und dem super netten und professionellen Service. Die Atmosphäre ist stets entspannt und angenehm.

Etwas modern geführte Gaststätte in Mittenwald. Besuch ist zu empfehlen. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und beraten Ihre Gäste zu den Gerichten. Küche hochwertig und sehr schmackhaft. Waren zweimal dort und sehr zufrieden.

Host at entrance is a bit cold. Service at table is very correct and very friendly all evening. Nice atmosphere and decoration. We got some nice bread and spread to start with. Our first course was deepfried wantan and these were very tasty. The spare ribs for main course were perfect with a nice smokey presentation. The gulash was good, but a shame it came just with a little bread and not with spätzle or other pasta. The sauce was nice enough.

Lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen, wirklich hohes Speiseniveau bei bodenständigen Gerichten. Top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, sehr guter Service, gemütliche Atmosphäre. Ich werde sicherlich wiederkommen.

Noch vor zwei Jahren eine „Spelunke“, heute eine absolute Top Adresse in Mittenwald. Angenehmer Service, ausgewogene Speisekarte und super leckere Gerichte. Wir waren zu viert und alle einer Meinung: Mit das Beste, was wir hier seit Jahren erleben durften.

Sehr leckeres Essen, nette Bedienung und dazu noch eine wunderschöne Aussicht vom Balkon. Kann ich voll weiterempfehlen

Hatte ein fantastisches Ossobuco, zartes Fleisch und schön angerichtet. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Abend, bei guten Wetter sitzt man auf dem Balkon , der Service war sehr aufmerksam. Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen hier ein Abstecher zu machen.

Wir kamen in zwei Wochen drei Mal her. Hätten wir das Lokal vorher entdeckt, wären wir noch öfter da gewesen. Das Essen ist lecker, die Bedienung super herzlich. Die Einrichtung sehr geschmackvoll. Alles was wir gegessen haben ist ohne Einschränkung zu empfehlen. Man merkt, die Küche hat noch Spaß am kochen!!!!! Jederzeit wieder

Wir haben unseren Hochzeitsabend im Josefs gefeiert. Es war von vorne bis hinten ein mehr als gelungener Abschluss des Tages! Das Team vom Josefs hat sich um Deko und sogar Drucksachen wie Menükarten gekümmert und hat es sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Das Essen war, wie immer, fantastisch. Alle Gäste haben davon geschwärmt, wie perfekt das Essen gewürzt war und wie kreativ die Speisen kreiert waren. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir können das Josefs wärmstens weiterempfehlen! DANKE!

Könnte ich 10 Sterne vergeben, das "josefs" hat sie verdient. Selten so gut gegessen. Das Tatar war der Hammer. Wenn Essen glücklich macht, dann geht man aus dem "josefs" mit einem breiten Lächeln. Tolles Ambiente und ein super Service. Danke für einen sehr schönen Abend.

We were greeted with friendliness and welcomed to choose our table inside or outside. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. We were helped with recommendations. They had a good selection of dishes to choose from. We didn’t want Bavarian food and they had good selections of different things as well. We chose a Thai Bowl and Osso Buco. Both were delicious and well presented. We were very pleasantly surprised.
