McDonald's in Freiburg im Breisgau

They refused to serve us even though we reached at 21:30 and it is supposed to shut at 22:00. They saw us and immediately locked the doors.

I haven't been here for a few months now and I have to say it's getting worse and worse. Hygiene service is getting worse and worse.

It's already closed at 9:40 pm.

Funny, waited a long time, and the food was still cold and the order was wrong. If you want to experience the worst McDonald's ever, then this is the place for you.

The worst service I've ever experienced at a McDonald's. Unmotivated and unfriendly men. But there was a huge line, only two ordering machines and cash registers weren't being manned. I actually had to wait half an hour before I could order a salad and some chicken nuggets. No carrier bag, no napkins, no straws (comment: they're all gone!) Really? 😟

Leaving EuropaPark, we arrive at McDonald's at 9:10 PM. There are only two kiosks, so it takes a long time to order, especially since there was a long wait in front of us and a long line behind us. We order for five people, the wait is normal. At 9:20 PM, the order is paid for, and at 9:30 PM, it arrives. They speak to us in German, and since they're the only ones who speak the language, I communicate. They tell me to go to the "other side," so we sit at the tables in the center. They rudely come after us and tell us to eat outside. We end up eating in the parking lot, crammed five people into the car. They forget a burger, and they're very rude when we come to ask for it. We noticed that they were turning people away at 9:40 PM even though it's supposed to close at 10:00 PM. The behavior, welcome, and service need to be reviewed. Disappointed.

The machine on the left wasn't working and slapped too many fries on my order. I had to pay €9 just for fries because of this error. The fries were unsalted, and the milkshake was too thick.

Simply bad, and not getting better

Wait time was 10 minutes for 20 nuggets and a fries. The fries were cold. For fast food, it was really slow...

The restaurant is unkempt from the outside, and the interior is confusing. The food selection outside of the menu is very limited and incomplete. The taste is pure convenience food with no attempt at improvement, and the price is high. The restrooms are not fully functional; the parking is confusing.

Despite the long wait, the order arrived completely wrong. After asking them to correct the order, when we got to the truck, the box of 20 chicken nuggets contained a mix of 6 chicken nuggets and the rest were not chicken nuggets. You need to pay more attention to what you order! And for those who are going to buy, always double-check your order!

It's 2025, but there isn't a single!!! veggie burger! (I don't even mean vegan, just vegetarian). Time seems to have stood still here. I understand that there's less choice at a motorway service station, but how difficult can it be to offer ONE vegetarian burger option?

The most disgusting fries I've ever eaten. The McDonald's was packed, and ordering at the counter was impossible, despite enough staff. A gigantic line formed at the kiosks. Despite repeated requests, the staff refused to take orders personally. On top of that, the fries were cold and completely unsalted. The vegetarian options are a joke, except for the nuggets, which tasted like cardboard. A colleague is allergic to cucumbers, so he canceled them. This special request, of course, was not honored. Not recommended; you'd be better off finding a more pleasant McDonald's!

A completely substandard McDonald's. We stopped here on the motorway. We've seen many McDonald's in Europe, but this one is absolutely substandard. The employees tried to somehow manage the chaos, but they completely failed. Never stop here at the end of the holiday season; you'll wait FOREVER. Nothing works, long lines, the food looks like it's already been eaten... We were genuinely shocked at how bad it could be and regretted the hour we lost because of it.

There are wasps everywhere outside. Inside, it's complete chaos. Tables are dirty. Burgers are carelessly smashed together. The parking lot is overcrowded and chaotic.

Terrible customer service, bordering on fraud. I ordered a Coke and a Royal Cheese, and they gave me a double cheeseburger (it costs much less!). I pointed it out to them, but they didn't care.

The staff is really rude. They ignore you. They close half an hour before closing time. I've seen several customers leave disappointed and even get into a fight. We were the last ones in... then they went outside to smoke even though it was supposed to be open. Absolutely not recommended and a disgrace to McDonald's. I would go to the next pump for food. I'm not the only one, by the way.

It's really dirty here. The tables are sticky, and the staff looks very grumpy. They sigh deeply and don't pick up a cloth to clean. The toilets are dirty, and the hamburgers are lukewarm!

Unflattering food. My companions and I took a trip to McDonald's. My friend was told in Arabic that he was too fat to go to McDonald's and that they didn't have enough food for him, and that he should roll out. The entire store stank of feces, and so did the food. The NC Christbieddie was disgusting. So much so that I vomited after I vomited, that I had to clean up the vomit with my mouth. Never eat there.

Forgotten order, served after 40 minutes

Dear owners of one of my favorite McDonald's, when I tried to order a deliciously fresh Bic Mac from your ranks in the early evening hours of July 6th of this year, the response was unfortunately a condescending "No, they're out today." As a Bic Mac lover, this is a shocking, almost unimaginable scenario. I would really like to ask you to restock your Bic Mac stocks so that the enjoyment of your small but fine shop can continue. Otherwise, I have nothing to complain about. A top-notch shop!

The friendliest McD in Germany I have been to! As a non German speaking there is often a struggle on McD in Germany and often ends up with some irritation. Here, even though we were a lot of people, so they were really busy, they kept friendly and did their best! Good job today, guys!!!

Restrooms aren't free. To wash your hands, you have to go to the basement and pay. Ordering at the table isn't possible.

I can't recommend eating here. It takes forever to get your order. The fries are all pre-made and look like they're a few days old. The chicken nuggets are a bit old. Probably the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Better to eat somewhere else. The cleanliness is nonexistent. All the tables are dirty. The tablet return is full, the trash cans are full. Where is the staff on a Sunday after a long weekend?

There was a family in front of me - a man, a woman, and two children. This family was given all the options, including bacon, spicy, etc. When it was my turn, I had ordered the first menu and the manager immediately replied: Hurry up! I asked if he had a problem with me. He just replied that I should order faster and that he didn't have time. I replied that he had time for the family in front of me. I'll list them here: Good things 👍🏼: - Plenty of space for eating, lots of tables - Wide range of options (e.g., a Big Mac comes with lots of wraps, etc.) - Burgers taste good Bad things 👎: - Dirty floor (Sticky everywhere) - A few flies - Soggy fries - Fewer fries, smaller cups, smaller burgers for the price - Dirty kitchen - Longer wait time than at a regular McDonald's That's basically it. I wasn't quite sure if it was worth 2 or 3 stars, so it's about 2.5 stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Absolutely does not correspond to the MC standard! - Online ordering not possible - Milkshake sour and stale - Meat was delivered instead of veggie, then the error was denied and we assumed we had replaced the meat - complain about the customer in another language… It's crazy that this branch is still open under this management!

Where do I even begin... Normally I don't write negative reviews, but this time it's really better for everyone involved not to go there. Even the employees would probably be more grateful if you didn't eat there. 1. There are only two machines to order from, which leads to a long wait. 2. There are a few other things that are really bad about this McDonald's, but I hope the first five examples will stop you from visiting this rest stop!!

So a week ago the soda machine didn't work and they still charged me for a complete menu and I didn't say anything. But this time, there are 15 people waiting in line for self ordering and I'm going to the guy that works there tomgive my order and he says that his "Kasse" is not working... But the POS saying willkommen zu McDonald's... I see lack of interest and lack of professionalism. Worst McDonald's we have ever been to. It went into total meltdown when it came to their attention that many customers came on a Saturday night during the high season. More than 100 customers had to leave without having received the food they had paid for as their buses could not wait any longer. We tried to get our money back after 1 hour of waiting with no prospect of when we could get our food. Only after 2 hours of us and lots of other customers yelling and screaming loudly at them did we and a few others manage to get our 76 euros back. It was difficult to even get in touch with the staff as there were hundreds of customers and were frustrated by the situation. So we spent 2 hours from the time we arrived until we left. Without getting our food. But we were one of the lucky few who got our money back, but we had to stand and agitate vigorously to get them right. The vast majority did not have that time for that and just had to go out into their waiting tourist buses hungry and poorer.

An employee dropped 3 burger patties on the (already too dirty) floor and then simply processed them. Really disgusting. Why build an open kitchen where everyone can look in if you deliberately ignore even basic hygiene standards?

I showed the employee the app coupon no. 213 Family Menu for €11.99 and ordered it. He entered everything once and in the end, instead of 11.99, I paid €16.88. Fries super dry and greasy at the same time?! Until now I've always had the same fries all over the world. That was a premiere! Burger that shouldn't have tomato (checked again in "Extra requests") had tomato on it. Sprite was probably empty of syrup, that can happen. Instead, just mezzo was requested. On the first try I was offered cola with iced tea. Oh well. It worked on the third try. Everything was dirty. Absolutely not recommended.

Attention vegan and vegetarian people!! We ordered the only vegetarian dish (McPlant Nuggets), the burger isn't available, and we got meat nuggets. An outrageous impudence that we unfortunately only noticed when we ate it and compared it with other nuggets. Better eat somewhere else!

So I found it quite creepy here. I live nearby but I don't know if I'll set foot here again. The fries tasted absolutely disgusting, as if they were still raw inside. The burger buns tasted a bit burnt. So I know McDonald's quality differently/better. And you have to do everything yourself. If you don't know your way around these ordering terminals (similar to Deutsche Bahn's ticket machines), you'll initially look like a fool and perhaps embarrass yourself. Thank God I managed it somehow. 😂

When you order 6 nuggets for an astonishing price of 6€ you’d expect to actually receive them. That was not the case. Make sure to check your bag for all your items before you go back on the highway.

My “visit to McDonald’s once a quarter” is usually during/after a trip on the highway. Unfortunately, this branch is underground. No vegetarian offering except plant nuggets. Very unfriendly employees. Much smaller portions of fries than usual (normal menu) - and not really cooked. Really a shame to go.
