A McDonald's in a tourist town...

oh my god, it was horrible, we waited 30 minutes for ice, only one cash register worked, I am extremely unhappy

Avoid. No order displays, old school on the cashier ordering. The problem is that the stuff does not follow the system - trying to remember your order instead of following the list. Result - forgotten items - souces, drinks.

I've never eaten at a restaurant that was this slow. The fries were cold. My burger had wilted lettuce, and the bread was old and very dry. Also, my wife's shake wasn't mixed. Never again.

Worst mc D's ever - long wait times, overwhelmed staff, broken machine, wrong order, old and dry rolls, and the toilet is cleaned instead of cleaned - once and never again!

They don't have order machines. They're extremely slow. It took more than half an hour to get my burger...

Wrong sauce, waited 1 hour for food

Fries weren't salty. Staff were very quiet, almost no ketchup etc. on burgers, no order boards, McSmart €7.50 instead of €6.50, and no receipts.

The place is severely understaffed, there is constantly a line extending to the street losing the point of taking fast food when you have to wait 30 minutes to even order. Is not the workers fault they are doing their best to handle a very crowded place, but there should never be 1 person during rush hour.

The double cheeseburger could have been better cooked, cheese was not melting as usual. Otherwise good service

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing visit. There was neither a proper and complete menu nor functioning payment terminals. At the checkout, I received the wrong food and no glass. A return wasn't possible because the receipt printer was broken, so I didn't have a receipt. The app code was scanned, but no points were credited. Furthermore, the tables weren't properly clean.

Worst McDonalds in Germany! Awkward, incompetent service (no order columns), totally dirty place - nice location - not recommended! I think the operator's license should be revoked.

In 1477, McDonald's opened a branch here - and not just anywhere, but right next to a medieval city gate. A true masterpiece of fast food architecture! Of course, the golden arch was replaced by a subtle sign to match the historical charm - or not.

The bell in the McCafe doesn't work or is turned off. Especially during the holiday rush, the cafe must be occupied - or the area will be closed! (Waiting time approx. 15 min)

My burger wasn't very tasty and was messily made, with a broken bun. Not very friendly and arrogant. Warning: Don't go there.

Unfriendly employees. Yesterday I went there with two other friends to buy ice cream. Everyone was at a cash register. The man who served me made half the ice cream for me than for my friends. Also, I was there another time and the McDonald’s app was not accepted by this man. Really unprofessional and disrespectful. The tables are not cleaned and the food is not as fresh as other branches. I promised myself I would never go down that hole again.

Food is ok, a little below average McDonald's quality. However, if you want to be attacked by an aggressive toilet cleaning man because you don't understand the need to tip him for paying for the emergency, this is the perfect place for it!

It's all about profit, money, money money... Despite active coupons in the app, they refuse to accept them at the checkout. It's a NO GO for me. Either they exist and you have to accept and take them or get out completely... And not whatever you feel like. It's a shame. I won't go there again in the future.

TERRIBLE SERVICE, they have treated us terribly, the food is not correct. I went to the bathroom and they asked me for a reward for entering, then they attacked me for not paying and they chased my friend with a broom. When she asked for the complaint form, she didn't want to give it to us nor did she intend to give it to us, they treat foreigners terribly and they don't even try to solve the conflicts, we have had to call the police and even so they have invented things, there is a strange business and probably with black money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING!!!!

Relatively fast service, the food is delicious.

The staff is impolite. I didn't know that there was no pre-order, I stood in line, explained in German at the cash register, but they didn't even want to listen. The eyes just rolled up to the forehead, the face twisted. Very unpleasant feelings remained. And I agree with many - it's very dirty. They are clearly not very happy for tourists or just people.

The evening manager was very unwelcoming. I have been to several hundred McDonalds and this was the worst by far.

It's actually a good McDonald's that I've been to many times, but it's taken a turn for the worse lately. When I ordered I specifically and specifically asked for a Cola Zero, but I still got a normal Cola. For me that's not a big deal, but it might be a problem for someone else who has diabetes or something like that. Then it continued with people walking around inside begging for change or your food. They don't go away straight away after you say no, they continue to discuss things and stand in front of you for a long time without leaving you alone. I also discovered a cockroach in the toilet. Last but not least, I had severe stomach pain after eating. I probably won't visit this McDonald's again.

There are often burgers in the warming counter, so you often get cold/old burgers. If the customer service is high, the food is okay. It would make sense to only produce as much as is ordered. Win-win for both sides.

Terrible staff, ordering in the local language is so nerve-wracking that you're actually hungry afterwards. The food isn't bad. Everything is usually completely dirty and you rarely leave the restaurant without sticky shoe soles. There are no machines, so you have to order in front, it's always a new mystery as to whether you actually get what you ordered

Actually no stars The guy who took our orders interrupted me the whole time and yelled no before he even heard what I wanted was a bicmac without onions and pickles btw. Then he yelled at me because I mixed up someone else's order because it had exactly the same thing in it. He also entered the coupons manually without a code or number, which is why I didn't get any points on the app The burgers also gave me an immediate stomach ache! I'll never come back, especially after the other reviews, some of which are really disgusting.

How can it be so difficult to pack an order correctly? Every time we order something, something is missing or it is delivered incorrectly! Sorry but if you can't get it baked in the delivery service then just leave it be!

This it's the worst McDonald's I ve been so far the cashier's are rude also they know 0 English which is basic in the modern world also for not speaking German they denied me the water for some reason when it was behind the cashier (and gave me cola instead when I don't like it. I only have eaten here because I was leaving Freiburg the next day.

Always very dirty, very bad food

I wanted to test delivery via McDelivery and Liferando and was extremely disappointed!!!! The delivery time was significantly longer than stated, one hour 25 minutes instead of 40 minutes, then the delivery was not complete and the supplier had unfortunately already left. I tried to call the branch directly, after several attempts someone answered who barely understood and spoke German and just told me "it's gone, it's gone" and hung up! He didn't want to know what was missing to try to help, nor did he say goodbye. Really not customer oriented and very annoying!

Old, rock-hard burgers are sold here for expensive money. The employee literally said to me: I would have to decide for myself whether I still wanted to eat it! I kindly asked for 2 fresh burgers, I was laughed at by the entire staff! This is an absolute disgrace, you should be shut down! Very bad service. Employees who don't speak a word of German, let alone understand it. Orders are not recorded completely or incorrectly. You don't even get an apology for it. There is still a discussion with the guest. This branch can take a page from other branches! Sad!

Service was quick, BUT the food didn't really taste fresh and mice were running around between the tables upstairs and then disappearing into the washroom on the upper floor. Never again!

I've been to several McDonald's, but I've never seen people asking for money in the restroom to use the restroom while consuming it on-site. If you're on your way out and say so, you can leave a plate on a table at the entrance to the bathroom. They cleaned and disinfected the floor. No doubt it was flawless, but since there is no receipt I don't know if it will be legal or authorized by McDonald's

Food is the same as typical MCDonalds. Cleaning seems to be a big issue here, have been there two times and seems nobody cares about tables upstairs. Floor and tables are almost the same, full of stains and not cleaned.

Messy store, tissues used and left on the ground, Worker at Mc Cafe disappeared for 15 minutes and came back. Food was great. Washroom was paid and the guy sitting there was sliding some coins into his own pocket instead of going into the restaurant. He seemed friendly and was polite but ended taking the money for the washroom for himself. If there is a Mc Donald's worker reading this, out to catch that guy, he keeps a tissue on the table and under it he places the stolen coins for himself.

Received food from a stranger: I ordered a burger and nuggets and was told to wait. Suddenly the employee became very restless and ran after a family that was being served in the meantime. Because: he gave the family my order. So after 2 minutes he came back with my nuggets and burgers and handed them to me. When I asked him that other people had already had this food in their hands and that I wanted fresh/new food, he shrugged his shoulders.

I was told no happy meal after 6pm after having to queue for 15 minutes. There is no indication anywhere on the signs. Simply cheeky.

A disaster. What a shame what they do in the bathroom. It seems unacceptable to me that there are two people who are employees of you screaming like crazy and asking for money, even entering the women's bathroom to bang on the door.

So, The food is so old that the state is trying to take away his pension. It's also greasy, smells rotten and generally inedible. Employees as motivated as I am every Monday after a coal mine. It feels like the restaurant hasn't been cleaned since the 19th century. Ps. Greetings from the toilet.

Really, really rude staff. We asked for three McFlurrys but they didn't have them, they told us there was only Frozen Yogurt even though the noticeboard said otherwise. They didn't give us the receipt and the Nuggets ordered never arrived. They don't know how to speak English and are quite rude. I don't recommend this place at all. To improve!!!

This has to be one of the worst McDonalds ever! Very long queues to order, no touch screen order points, no possibility to order through the mobile app, staff do not speak English... Honestly, it's 2024, they need to do better.
