A true gem in Bad Doberan! The monastery kitchen impresses with a wonderful combination of traditional and modern cuisine, prepared from regional ingredients of the highest quality. The service is very warm and attentive, the ambience right at the monastery is unique and atmospheric. What was particularly impressive was how artfully and lovingly the food was decorated on the plates - almost too good to eat. An all-round perfect experience. We'd love to come back! Tip: There is an inexpensive parking lot right next door, and in the area it is definitely worth taking a walk through the Johann Sebastian Bach Garden, to the Doberan Minster, to the monastery ruins and throughout Bad Doberan.

Bad Doberan monastery church, The guest room is in the basement of the building. The furnishings are rustic. The service is friendly and a bit stressed because all the tables are occupied. The hamburgers we chose were solid. Conclusion: All of the dishes we listed are solid but nothing special.

We weren't taken to the reserved seat, sat for 15 minutes without ordering a drink, the waitress had no empathy for allergy sufferers and told us what food we should order. The dish wasn't even gluten free. Only after discussing that the allergy had already been communicated when making the reservation did she want to consult with the kitchen. Previously she said there is no gluten-free pasta. Then she didn't go into the kitchen but instead went to the neighboring table. We then left. You don't choose an allergy and if it causes problems, you don't want to be there.

Finally open again! Great, high quality food. Not only suitable for a romantic dinner, but also for families or other occasions.

We came here today very spontaneously and "unsuspectingly". We were very excited. The ambience alone really appealed to us. The entire team was very committed. The service was friendly and quick. The kitchen conjured up one highlight after another on our plates. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience for us that we can recommend 100%.

A trip to Bad Doberan brought me to this exceptional and clean restaurant. It was recently renovated. I felt very comfortable right from the start because I was positively impressed by the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. At the beginning I was made aware of the soup of the day. There is also a labeled board at the entrance with a description of the current main course. I ordered 2 main courses and a starter. Starter: Baked goat cheese in a nut crust with marinated rocket, Pears - fig jelly & ciabatta Main course 1: Monastery beer schnitzel from saddle of beef Crispy slices of Herford beef from the monastery beer marinade with lemon caper vinaigrette, red wine sauce, Bacon beans & rosemary potatoes Main course 2: Braised ox cheek with hazelnut crunch on buttered carrots & Potato gratin with mountain cheese gratin, plus tomato jam I have eaten well several times in my life. The boathouse in Niendorf on the Baltic Sea was my favorite so far. This restaurant pulled at least the same. The dishes are very artfully and attractively prepared. A complete feast for the eyes. Since the starter had already impressed me 100%, I knew that the taste would remain very high. The chefs know exactly what they can do. I could taste every flavor. Nothing was overlaid and nothing was seasoned. It was pure delight for me. I was really very happy to have dined there. The ox cheeks were by far the tastiest baked goods I have ever eaten. I was also completely impressed by the monastery beer schnitzel. I can only recommend this very good restaurant. I come from Ahrensburg and I wish I had a restaurant like this in my city. The chefs and staff are top. The dishes are prepared with a lot of love. You can simply taste it. Thank you very much for this beautiful experience. I am attaching photos of the two main courses.

A really very nice restaurant. What I didn't expect. Very invitingly designed. There were 4 of us there and we called at short notice to see if there was still a table available. Very friendly attentive staff. The dishes were presented very nicely and were of high quality. Simply put, super delicious. Also recommended for two or more people, whether at lunch or in the evening.

After registering by phone, we encountered a very clean and nice atmosphere and very friendly and very accommodating employees. The service was first class, the food was prepared and presented by real masters of pot and pan! The “fish soup” is second to none, simply delicious!!! We wanted to eat and despite many places available, we were told no and we should leave. No possibility of communication in a language other than German. It wasn't even possible in English. It's a pity we didn't have the opportunity to try the dishes recommended to us.

A real insider tip... as an alternative to the more expensive locations in Kühlungsborn, we took a spontaneous trip to Bad Doberan to the monastery kitchen. What a good idea... An attractive menu with a manageable number of dishes and a special design. Very tasty and cooked with creativity, tasted to the point and attractively presented. Plus good service and a nice atmosphere. It was worth it!

A very good recommendation if you're looking for something to eat for lunch or dinner. Friendly service, nice and clean atmosphere. The mountain cheese fries and the accompanying burger are delicious. Opinions differ as to whether the rum in the hot sea buckthorn should be charged extra, but all in all a very positive experience and a pleasant contrast to what you get in the tourist resorts on the coast.

How nice that the monastery kitchen is open again. We were there for lunch today. The service was extremely friendly and quick. The food was excellent, I haven't eaten something so tasty for a long time.

Was there today on the recommendation of my landlord (apartment). And I can't recommend this place to anyone. A saddle of veal steak was ordered, which looked like a cooked piece of meat and also tasted pretty bad. At first I thought it was something like a salad plate. There was no taste at all, except for the mushrooms there was nothing wrong with it. Then the place was full and before you send the guests to the competition, it's better to sit them outside in the cold. Wouldn't say anything if there had at least been gas heaters outside. Many guests who came left after a short time because it was too cold. Put it this way, here in Saarland this restaurant would have closed long ago

We have enjoyed being guests of the restaurant since the Klosterstube opened. But every year it became more difficult to dine there. This year we wanted to reserve a table. This year we were informed that there were only table times. Either from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sorry, we have canceled our table order. With all understanding, at our age we can't be told when we want to eat. Unfortunately, we will no longer visit the monastery kitchen. Especially since the lady on the phone was very unfriendly and no longer needed guests.

We ate in the monastery kitchen in March 2022. The year before we took food from the monastery kitchen and enjoyed it in the holiday apartment. The food was very tasty both times and was freshly prepared and well presented, which justifies the price of the dishes. We had reserved a table, which was good because the restaurant was very busy. The dishes we ordered came to our table quickly. The staff was very attentive and friendly. And our dog was also welcome. 😊 We'll be back, keep it up...

Absolutely great! Why there isn't a huge queue in front of it every day is a mystery to me. The monastery kitchen is absolute madness. We sat in the small but nice outdoor area, but the atmosphere inside is also very rustic and cozy. The service was very friendly. But the food is awesome. Something so delicious is really rare these days. This was definitely the highlight of our vacation! We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely top, friendly service, cozy atmosphere, prices still relatively cheap. The food was great, you rarely see homemade burger meat or home-cut fries these days. Noodles with shrimps also very tasty and fresh.

Delicious food in Bad Doberan. It was our first time in the monastery kitchen. The good ratings attracted us here and we were not disappointed. We had the burger with the great country potatoes, really tasty and filling. As well as the redfish fillet with a bar garlic crust, also very tasty. For dessert I had the mascarpone with tonka beans because I really wanted to try tonka beans. It was beautifully prepared with lots of fruit, but since I don't actually like mascarpone... it's my own fault. Very friendly, attentive and lovely service. We will definitely come back after the renovation.

Wir sind dort zu Zweit ganz spontan Essen gegangen und waren dann sehr glücklich, dieses Lokal gewählt zu haben. Der Service ist außerordentlich freundlich, es wurde sich sehr bemüht, dass wir draußen sitzen konnten, obwohl es zur Mittagszeit sehr voll war. Die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm und die Getränke wurden rasch gebracht. Die selbstgemachte Limonade und der hauseigene Eistee sind sehr zu empfehlen! Wir aßen beide Rindersteak, welches absolut perfekt gegart war und herrlich zart und lecker schmeckte. Die Beilagen - Bratkartoffeln und Wildkräutersalat - passten wunderbar und schmeckten ebenfalls gut! Die Bedienung fragte sehr nett, nach angemessener Zeit, ob alles in Ordnung sei. Wir werden demnächst wiederkommen. Die Klosterküche ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Die Speisekarte hat mich lange überlegen lassen was es denn zu essen sein darf. Letztendlich - das Essen war hervorragend. Mit einer gewissen Finesse und liebevoll angerichtet. Sehr leckeres Essen, Qualitätsküche! Wir hatten Duroc Schwein, köstlich. Alles sehr gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Aber recht eng und warm (was uns nicht gestört hat). Service 1a, freundlich, aufmerksam. Preise sind mittlerweile überall hier hoch, Preis-Leistung aber okay. Fazit: empfehlenswert.
