Absolutely thrilled! We were here for lunch today, and I have to honestly say: it's rare to have such an all-around perfect experience. As soon as we walked in, we received a super-friendly welcome, and the service was attentive, warm, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. The food? Simply a dream! Every dish was not only of the highest quality, but also beautifully presented – you can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with passion and attention to detail. Even the small side dishes were finely balanced, and the accompanying beer rounded off the whole experience perfectly. You immediately feel at home here – great atmosphere, excellent team, top-notch cuisine. I definitely recommend it: If you value quality and are looking for a place where everything just works, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back!

Wow! A beef schnitzel – that's really only possible with veal or pork. No matter, it was tender and delicious. The burger was divine, and the pork schnitzel was also outstanding. The price is "normal" for the area, but the quality is significantly higher.

The name "Klosterküche" (Kloster Kitchen) might suggest a rustic inn serving home-style cooking, but a glance at the menu reveals that the prices here are several notches higher. The food was nicely presented, as befits this price range. Nevertheless, the selection is rather limited. The shrimp skewer was coated in breadcrumbs, which isn't particularly appealing. The drink was forgotten and only brought to the table after a delay after ordering again. Overall, it was quite good, perhaps a bit overpriced: €13.90 for 6 shrimp (starter) and €4.70 for a Coke. The children's plates, on the other hand, are sufficient and reasonably priced.

Everything was perfect! We dined here for a 50th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared. The prices are reasonable for the excellent quality. Unfortunately, since we were only visiting the area, we probably won't be eating there again anytime soon. However, the restaurant is definitely recommended. We'd be happy to come back on our next visit.

We were there in July 2025 and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was great (fish and monastery beer schnitzel). The waiter was very nice; he even told me what the decoration on my plate was made of and how it was made. Ordering a smaller portion was no problem either. The food was unique; the chef is truly adept. Hold on to him...

We dropped in at random, and I have to say, we generally enjoy eating out, and we were also on vacation, but we weren't expecting such a splendid selection of good food for such a relatively low price. It tasted great, the restaurant was practically full, and we got what seemed to be the last available table. The staff were very friendly, and after a wonderful meal, we left very satisfied. We can definitely recommend it (reservations are recommended).

Recommendation, so far. Paying by card takes a bit of getting used to; you can do that at the counter. The price/performance ratio is good. I highly recommend it.

If you're on vacation in the area, you simply have to eat at the Klosterküche Bad Doberan. We've never been disappointed, and this year it was sensationally good again. Friendliness is also very important, and dogs are welcome. We could enjoy this exceptionally good restaurant twice again.

The Klosterküche is a very nice restaurant/café. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. Everything is also clean and well-maintained. I would have imagined the interior to be a bit more rustic. The interior isn't what you'd expect from the name and the building's exterior. Therefore, an excellent 4 stars overall.

Very friendly and prompt service. We made a last-minute reservation (10 minutes before our arrival) and were greeted and seated very well. They gave us plenty of time to choose our food and drinks, and they also gave us good advice. Special requests, like a banana wheat beer, were no problem. The food was very tasty, and the portions were more than enough to fill us up. Thanks to the entire team. They make you feel welcome as a guest.

Delicious food, but the service was a disappointment. The food was really good, but the service ruined the entire experience. We sat outside and were completely forgotten several times. No one came to us unless I went inside and specifically asked. In the 1.5 hours we were there, we were served exactly once—and only after I'd remembered. The dessert we ordered (for a whopping €9!) was simply forgotten and never brought. Conclusion: Great food is useless when the service is so disrespectful and disorganized. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. We are disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.

I spontaneously stopped by the monastery church with my wife for dinner. No reservation. We were greeted very politely, and luckily there was a table available. The menu is very interesting and piqued our interest. We chose the pasta dish and the redfish fillet. Highly recommended; very flavorful and incredibly delicious. The presentation was a feast for the eyes. Simply top-notch. We rounded off the visit with an espresso, which was also very flavorful. A wonderful evening. Thank you very much.

Contrary to what Google says, only a small menu is available from 3 p.m. No parking, but there is a paid parking lot right next door. A basement restaurant. Highly recommended: redfish in hazelnut and lemon breading with pear and pointed cabbage, and roasted potatoes. Well-matched side dishes, €19.90. Quality is worth the money, card payments accepted. A good address for a delicious meal. Unfortunately, a large beer is only 0.4 liters. Edit: A second visit confirms the high quality of the cuisine – hot meals are now served throughout opening hours. I recommend the Klosterküche without reservation! Edit: Consistently top-quality food, our favorite restaurant on the coast. Card payments accepted, but tips only in cash. Edit: After three more visits, we can say that the described superb quality is standard and norm there. Sensational!

Yesterday I had dinner in the monastery kitchen. The food was of a good standard. My friend's fish was missing wild garlic and in my schnitzel dish, the wild garlic butter overwhelmed the plate a bit. I wasn't happy with the service because the waitress lied twice at the table without blushing. I read through a few reviews and could tell from the reviews that the manager wasn't interested in feedback. All in all a very nice place with good food and drinks. May 1st Labor Day and public holiday. Why shouldn't you end this day beautifully? After a beautiful day on the beach in wonderful weather, something for dinner was needed. Thanks to the reviews, the monastery kitchen in Bad Doberan was chosen. Friendly welcome, a spontaneous spot in the sun in the garden was wonderful. The card is seasonal and promising. The starter was goat cheese in a crispy coating and crispy prawns. Both are really very good 👍. The main course was the monastery schnitzel with asparagus and what else can I say, the pictures speak for themselves and it was great. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful restaurant again. Guest room under historic walls – Bad Doberan monastery church In the immediate vicinity of the imposing Bad Doberan monastery church there is a special kind of guest room - in the rustic vaulted cellar of the historic building. The rustic furnishings with lots of wood and stone create a down-to-earth, almost medieval atmosphere that certainly has its charm. The service was friendly, although noticeably under pressure - all tables were occupied and the hustle and bustle of the room was clearly noticeable. Our choice fell on classic hamburgers, which were technically well prepared, but did not offer any culinary highlights. Conclusion: Overall, the food is okay, solid and without any big surprises - not a place for gourmets, but definitely worth a visit for an uncomplicated, hearty meal in a historical ambience.

We had an excellent lunch on a Monday in April. Beef burger with great fries and chive sour cream and ox cheeks with a great potato and mountain cheese tart, all very creative and delicious. Delicious homemade lemonade. Extremely friendly people in service. Came on the recommendation of a friend and would love to come back. It's also in a great location near the cathedral and the monastery complex in a park where we then went for a nice walk.

Incredibly good food. 2x Münster burger, 1x pulled pork burger, 1x rump steak and goat cheese. Everything was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny.

We ate in the restaurant at 7:00 p.m. on March 22, 2025 after making a reservation for three people. Parking is available in the adjacent parking lot at the ZOB. The rooms are in the basement, the kitchen is somewhat visible and made a very positive impression, which was reflected in the dishes. However, I didn't really like the rooms; due to the lack of soundproofing, it's far too loud when it's full and you can't have a conversation in peace. It is also built too narrowly, fewer spaces would be more. Unfortunately, the furniture does not reflect the quality of the food. A little more elegant, round tables, covered in white, and soundproofing would have a massive impact on the ambience here. I also didn't like the lighting. But what particularly bothered us was the lack of ventilation. Bad air. All of this would prevent us from spending a whole evening there, unfortunately, because now comes the good stuff…… THE FOOD IS EXQUISITE AND DELICIOUSLY PRESERVED! It tastes excellent. Definitely worth the price. Big thanks to the chef! Better than the Blue Donkey at the city harbor! We were there a week before. The service in the monastery kitchen was also impeccable. We would definitely come back regularly because of the food, but the way the rooms are at the moment we really have to think about it. That's a shame with the exquisite cuisine, just invest a little and only good-humored guests come and stay longer. It's supposed to be a positive review because the kitchen only deserves a positive presentation and an appealing ambience for its dishes. Thank you for the great food and the very good service.
