A wonderful and cozy restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and very friendly. Today, Whitsun Sunday, June 8, 2025, we visited the restaurant for the second time. Everything was as described above, excellent service, and the food was delicious, but the price was way too expensive for the portion size. The asparagus, unfortunately, can't compare to the asparagus from Nienburg. Sorry, it may be that there's a surcharge for Whitsun, but in general, I think the pricing is unreasonable.

Cool cafe/restaurant in Bad Doberan! Very cozy! We received friendly service, and there was even time for a chat with the owner. The location is a bit hidden!

We always enjoy coming here. It's a very nice spot, just off the railway line. It's very nice here, and the food is delicious. Our dog loves it too. The large parasol turned the colors orange, and everything on the plate was the right color.

We discovered it by chance on a side street. We were impressed by the great, unobtrusive service. The food and drinks are second to none – superb quality. The price-performance ratio is excellent.

We spontaneously visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening without a reservation. We were greeted very courteously and seated at a small table. Our dog was immediately given a water bowl and a small plate with several treats. When it was noticed that the table would be rather inconvenient for a dog, the reservations were quickly adjusted slightly, and we were seated at a larger table with more space around it. The menu offers something for every taste. We enjoyed the food, and the drinks (wine and homemade lemonade) were also very tasty. My husband even got just a sip of wine to try first, which is rather unusual in mid-priced restaurants. The service staff were all very friendly and accommodating, without seeming stiff or pretentious. The ambiance is beautiful, not overly opulent, not kitschy, exactly our taste. We felt extremely comfortable and will definitely be back!!!

Der Empfang ist freundlich. Man sitzt gemütlich und bequem. Der Service ist sehr angenehm, nicht aufdringlich, mit Stil, und doch auch persönlich, sehr dezent. Und nun zum Essen!: Mit das beste, das ich überhaupt jemals hatte. Wir alle waren begeistert und auch zuvor nie enttäuscht. Man gibt sich sehr viel Mühe mit der Kreation der Speisen selber, den Zutaten, der Qualität. Ein Geschmackserlebnis pur! Ob Fleisch, Fisch, Nudeln, Suppe, Bruschetta, die Desserts, die Cocktails, alles ein Genuss! Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend, es grüßt die Gruppe " Schöne Auszeit". Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, natürlich auch einzeln privat.

I've been there several times. Café Zikke is one of my absolute favorites. The food is perfect, the staff is extremely friendly, and if you can sit outside in nice weather, it's a perfect time.

We were registered as a group of 6 people to eat at the Zikke. On the daily menu, the restaurant recommended rack of lamb with beans and sweet potatoes (I think as a puree). In any case, we were so impressed that four people ordered the lamb. What we got as a dish was described by the waiters as lamb. Unfortunately, while we were eating we discovered that our lamb in particular must have had a speech impediment that was evident in the meat, or that the butcher had processed a bleating cow. In any case, we were all served beef without saying anything. I probably wouldn't have minded if I had been told that the lamb, for whatever reason, was out and could no longer be prepared. But simply saying nothing and trying to give the guest an Who knows what else might be “offered” to a guest contrary to their order. For my part, I will avoid the restaurant in the future because, despite the good service, I feel somehow cheated. Really a shame.

First of all I have to say the service was good and the black beer too!!!! Went to the Zikke this evening and the restaurant/café looked good and after so many good reviews here I thought what could go wrong. But I have to say my girlfriend was a bit bitchy after dinner and I have to say rightly so! I opened the menu and thought OK...a bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay a little more for good food. When we ordered, the first thing that came was “prawns with noodles” but unfortunately the shrimps were out. Nagut can happen. Alternative found "fish pot" was the name. When the fish pot came to the table, there was great disappointment. Then I thought of a better name for it, put canned fish in tomato sauce in a pot with water on it and let it cook for a few hours!!! Unfortunately, I'm serious about that. What should that be? I have eaten many types and types of fish soups but none were as bad as this one! This porridge only consisted of fish slush and tomato paste, without any spices, vegetables or anything else. I don't even want to talk about the amount that should be a large portion. So for me the whole thing was a price-intensive non-starter!!!

Today we were in Bad Doberan with Molli and discovered this cozy restaurant in a side street by chance. Since we weren't really hungry, we ordered a fruit crumble and drinks. First of all I would like to praise the extremely nice and attentive service, simply great🤗 The crumble was so delicious and a treat for the eyes too. When we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back with a big appetite 😋

We had dinner at Café Zikke last night and it was once again very tasty and cozy. The cocktails (Espresso Martini) were really good and we were well served by lovely Jana. Unfortunately, we couldn't give her a tip because it's not yet possible to pay by card at Café Zikke.

I had the menu and it was worth it. Excellent soup first, very tasty main course and dessert. Only the side salad with the beef stroganoff was not convincing - quite bitter and no tasty dressing. The waiter was attentive and extremely friendly!

Good themed restaurant with good cuisine and great service staff. You can sit well, outside or inside,... cocktails are delicious 😜, wine too 😀 and if you need schnapps and beer, here you go!!! The dishes are all great and there is something for everyone... Whether fish, chicken 😄, everything is there... And there are so many other things on the menu... Price/performance ratio is also right and that's why .... Nothing to complain about....

Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung auch die teleonsche Reservierung ausgesprochen zugewandt und zuvorkommend. Der Wein war gut, die Trüffelpasta alerdings enttäuschend- von Trüffel keine Spur und inssgesamt die Pilze mt der Sauce eher matschig- mein Mann war mit seiner Gamberetti Pasta allerdings zufrieden und die Creme brulee hat ihm auch gefallen. Die Pasta sebst in der Konsistenz war ordentlich.

Das Cafe Zikke steht seit Jahren auf unserer Liste bei einem Besuch in Bad Doberan. Es liegt ein wenig versteckt ganz in der Nähe einer Haltestelle der Molli. Es gibt hier einen guten verlässlichen Service, welcher nicht zu aufdringlich ist. Zudem bekommt hier gute und leckere Vor- sowie Hauptspeisen. Empfehlenswert sind hier auch immer die Gerichte welche ausserhalb der Karte vom Service aufgerufen werden. Man sitzt hier über 2 Etagen und im Sommer bietet der Biergarten auch Schutz vor der Sonne.

Planned as a "warm-up break" with coffee and cake, I was looked after in a very friendly manner and stayed for a tarte flambée and homemade mint lemonade (tip!). The dishes are excellently presented and are at least as tasty as they look. I'm happy to recommend the "zikke" and will come back!

It's getting euphoric: If you want to eat well in Bad Doberan, you can't go past the “Zikke”. On November 10, 2024 I had the fish of the day: sea bass fried in the skin on Chinese cabbage with homemade mashed potatoes. Terrific! In fact, what the friendly operator says is true: we don't stir things here, we cook them. The whole atmosphere is very well maintained and the sanitary area is so clean that you feel at home. Class.

We had an excellent meal here. The food was very well recommended by the staff and the taste of the homemade potato soup, the fish and the beef stroganoff was a feast for the palate. The atmosphere is very pleasant and, above all, everything is very clean. Others can learn a lesson from the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, because it proves that service and friendliness towards guests still exists in this day and age.

We were there on several days! A beautiful cafe/restaurant. Everything was perfect, from the welcome to the payment. The quality of the food/drinks is very good. The dinner was super delicious. A big compliment goes to all the employees in this house. You are so friendly, attentive and provide fantastic service. Thank you for the lovely time with you. If we're in the area again, we'd love to come back. The four-legged guests are also thought of with water bowls and small dog treats. 👍👍♥️

Today we ordered 2 large fish soups with game fish and vegetables, for around €13.60 each. We received 2 bowls with thin tomato soup, delicate vegetable slices, a few fish flakes, mussels and calamari. Unfortunately, there was no response to our advice that there wasn't enough and we ordered game fish. Not recommended.

First of all the positives: friendly staff, clean toilet, nice atmosphere. Were visiting Doberan, a great little town! Table reserved in the Zikke which worked without any problems. My wife chose ox cheeks Unfortunately they were not available for technical reasons. Not a problem in itself, but we could have been informed which dishes were not available. So take another look from the beginning! I ordered the Zikke tarte flambée, which was a real disappointment for me, just dry. The menu says fresh spring onions, which unfortunately were just dried out on top. For almost 18 euros that was nothing. Something fresh is missing there. I don't want to complain either, I've read the positive reviews, but that's how I saw it. We go out to eat very often, but given the prices, that will decrease. We decided not to have dessert and left. A nice restaurant with room for improvement. Ramona and Rainer

We were here in this little restaurant in the back yard on a warm summer evening. The service was perfect, nice and courteous.

Great food, great ambience - we were served very nicely by Jana. Unfortunately, tipping via card payment was not possible - we would have liked to have given more for this lovely evening.

The restaurant is conveniently located in the city center and advertises half prices for all burgers and tarte flambées during "happy hour" from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cozy atmosphere with lounge music. Clean toilets! Attractive menu. I ate a burger with pulled pork and my wife a tarte flambée with beef and sheep's cheese. And that's where the enjoyment begins: Fine, tender meat, topped with Sheddar cream! As a side dish, some fried potatoes with fine aiolli and a delicate rocket salad with a very tasty dressing. The tarte flambée with hollandaise sauce, sheep cheese and tender pieces of beef. Not run-of-the-mill, but very fine cuisine! Highly recommended... If it weren't for the drinks prices: 0.2l cola €3.90, cappuccino €4.90, beer €5.70, etc. From our point of view, that spoils the enjoyment experience...

At first glance you can be mistaken as to which diamond is hidden behind the facade. The food was a “fireworks of flavors”. Wine and other drinks were great. And that's not an exaggeration! The service is friendly, courteous and flexible, prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality. The best thing we have discovered so far on the Baltic Sea beach. We look forward to a reunion. Wir waren mit einer größeren Familiengruppe hier zum Essen. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente in der Stadt, nahe den Gleisen des historischen Zuges mit Dampflock, ist stilvoll und schön mit großer Außenterrasse unter alten Bäumen. Getränke kommen in angemessener Zeit. Wir hatten verschiedene Gerichte vom Caesar Salat über Bruschetta bis zur Fisch-Tagesempfehlung (Zanderfilet) oder Burger. Was bei den Tagesempfehlungen stört, ist dass sie zwar vom Personal vorgestellt und genau beschrieben werden (sie sind auch auf Tafeln zu lesen) aber weder auf den Tafeln, noch bei der mündlichen Vorstellung werden die Preise genannt (?). Uns allen haben die Gerichte wirklich gut geschmeckt und die Qualität ist gut; leider stimmt aber hier das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht. Die Burger kosten ab 22,80 €, der Ceasar Salat 17,80€ … (Karte ist im Internet) Die Portionen sind wirklich klein, man wird nicht satt. Brot gibt es auch keins dazu. Zusammengefasst: Schönes Restaurant, leckeres Essen aber zu teuer. (Mittags gibt es zwischen 3 und 5 Uhr 50% auf bestimmte Gerichte ( Burger und Flammkuchen)… Vielleicht könnte man einen Mittelweg finden?

A very impressive restaurant. The service doesn't stop at the guest, but continued very lovingly with our dogs; they each received their own clean bowl with fresh water and a few dog biscuits on a plate. Very very friendly and nice 👍. We'd love to come back, the farm and the whole ambience are great, very tasty food at normal prices. I had a small starter of salad and truffle pasta with wild mushrooms and my husband had a pulled pork burger and it was very, very tasty. Even the toilets are pleasantly clean and comfortably furnished. You have a great place there! Thank you for the warm welcome.

We have been to the ZIKKE several times during our holidays (2010-2015). It's always an experience to try up and down the menu. The staff is always attentive, friendly and quick. We will definitely come back! Went to the Zikke again in April '17, I can only say very high praise. Came back again in July '17, still just as good! As always a pleasure! Small update; Went to the Zikke again in May 2020, just like the previous visits, it was a pleasure. I can only hope that we can come often, many thanks especially to Birgit. And we were guests again in August 2020, it's always an experience to look through the menu...interesting dishes are offered every time. Keep it up, we'll be back! Many thanks to Birgit for the campaign with the rice pudding....press. So, summer 2021, I've been to the Zikke several times again...just great, just like it has been all these years! The boss and Birgit are absolutely brilliant. I can't say anything about the other employees at the moment. If you read one or two negative reviews, I can't understand it. It is possible that one or two of our contemporaries got off on the wrong foot. Boys & girls keep it up, we'll be back. February 22, we visited the ZIKKE again, like before, it's always nice with you. I'm excited to see what happens when the kitchen renovation is finished. August 2022, on vacation again and of course several times in the Zikke....As expected, there was always something interesting on the menu/daily specials and everything was really great. Many thanks to Mikki and Mr. Bolz for the loving care. Also a big compliment to the kitchen, which prepares everything so beautifully. We will miss you for now... Update April '24, been to the Zikke again...like so many times, a wonderful evening with you, thank you very much, we'll be back.

Sehr netter Service und ganz außergewöhnlich freundliche Mitarbeiter. Wir waren mit einer größeren Familiengruppe vor Ort, das Essen kam gleichzeitig, war geschmacklich gut und alle Sonderwünsche wurden berücksichtigt. Der Humor der Mitarbeiter war wirklich lustig und unser Kinder waren voll zufrieden.

We were here for the first time and spontaneously too. The reception was very pleasant and the atmosphere outside was very inviting and charming. The service staff was really nice and friendly. Choosing the food was a little more difficult because there are no everyday dishes here, which is nice. However, the selection of children's meals, here in number two, is very poor. So our daughter decided on a burger which was prepared for her according to the children's wishes. So in this case just the bread, ketchup and chicken patty plus potato wedges. The other two dishes were also very tasty and ok, although they were a bit more expensive. And that's exactly the issue, when the bill came, we were very shocked because for this "children's hamburger" without any real ingredients, we were asked for the price of a burger menu from the menu, for an impressive 22.90 €, left us speechless. We would have liked to have adjusted the price to the actual value of the goods, especially since in this case it was a children's meal. All in all, it is a nice, charmingly located restaurant with nice staff including dishes that are not everyday, but perhaps a little too expensive in one place or another.

I actually wanted to eat something in Rostock before I went home, but because I didn't have enough time, I had a look at what was nice in Bad Doberan. The very good reviews made me curious and looking at the menu was also very promising, so why not try it out?! The location in a quiet courtyard with lots of shade (but there are also sunny spots) appealed to me immediately. The menu offers something for everyone, but at the same time it is not overloaded. A great selection of drinks with self-created drinks tops it off! The waitresses were very friendly, on the ball and always available at the right time. Food and drinks also came very quickly. Prices aren't cheap, but I haven't regretted my choice and I'm starting my journey home happy and full. :-) By the way, the aioli dip for the potatoes on the chicken burger tastes absolutely fantastic, it could also be used as a sauce on the burger! Just an idea... ;-)
